King Joseph II, The Enlightened Despot
Joseph II, the Enlightened Despot When Maria Theresa Empress of Austria (1717 1780) died, her
son, Joseph II, became the absolute ruler and enacted all reforms which he wanted to fulfil, and
which opposed those of his mother. Greatly influenced by the Enlightenment ideals of freedom and
equality, his ideas of abolishing serfdom, carrying out the reforms of religious toleration, and
promoting welfare for the people best reflected the Enlightenment ideals.
In the political order of the Holy Roman Empire, neither freedom, religion, nor religious equality
were granted. After his coronation, Joseph set reforms which notably included important steps
towards serf liberation and, most strikingly, increased religious tolerance for most non Catholics ...

The welfare of the people was of considerable concern to him, and, being a well intentioned and
earnest despot, Joseph II led them to their good by raising funds, founding orphanages, maternity
hospitals and various institutions. His policies contributed to their welfare by freeing them from
the superstitions and prejudices of the past through exposure to enlightened doctrines (Davis 166).
Moreover, Joseph wrote a system where it was made necessary that each state had primary
education and well paid teachers. He created pension funds for the retired monks as well as for
their students, so that they may help run the government, which would help the empire to grow
stronger. Promoting welfare, to Joseph, is aspired to save people from their own follies and for
their good, an ideal coincidental with monarchal interests. Therefore, Joseph s government is an
Enlightenment ideal because the government is doing something good for the people, and his
power over everything allowed him to work for the welfare of his
Sexual Objectification Against Women
In 2014 there was an online survey that questioned many women about sexual harassment. In a
survey of 811 women, Over 99 percent of the female respondents said they had experienced some
form of street harassment (only three women said they had not). Examples of these gestures would
be hip thrusting, hand motions that simulate sex acts, or gestures with mouth or tongue. Over 80%
of women have been targets for sexually explicit comments (Statistics Stop Street Harassment
Studies). Over the last 30 years objectification and sexualization in advertising, media, music videos,
video games, and many other platforms. What is sexual objectification? What does sexualizing

The study revealed that over 80% of women in video games represented one of these depictions.
More than one quarter of female characters embodied all of the three stereotypical categories at
once. (Rachael Albertson Kill) In Tomb Raider the female lead is sexualized in what clothes she
wears because they are not appropriate for what the objective is in the game. The game is an
action game where she fights and explores. Clothes like shorts and a tight revealing tank top are
not convenient. More female lead games that do not correspond their clothes with what the game
is about is Bayonetta. Bayonetta is about a shapeshifting witch that fights mystical monsters by
action and by spells. Bayonetta gained a great deal of popularity, money, and views by most male
game players. She gained the popularity, money, and views by her clothes and her actions. The
clothes she wore throughout the game were a tight black leather jumpsuit showing cleavage and
having her whole back exposed, and a pair of black stilettos heels with her guns at the heels of her
shoes. Her attacks would be performed when she would be fighting a monster. These attacks would
vary from swing kicks exposing her underwear to very powerful attacks that would have her naked
but having her hair covering her breasts and her pelvis areas. The monsters that she would
Tacfit Research Papers
TACFIT® is the original Tactical Fitness System, created by Scott B. Sonnon. Tactical Fitness is
defined as:
Tactical: Of, relating to, or constituting a series of actions, carefully synchronized, coordinated,
planned and executed to achieve a specific end.
Fitness: methods, protocols and principles to physically, mentally and emotionally prepare, mitigate
and compensate for specific occupational, recreational and lifestyle stressors.
Tactical Fitness, therefore, is a contiguous approach for specific physical preparation to enter,
overcome, and recover from stressors in such a way that the individual and team become stronger,
better and healthier from the stressors, rather than deteriorate from them.

The TACFIT system uses 26 workouts, with 4 different levels of challenge, and 6 different protocols
of timing. TACFIT helps anyone access their innate fitness potential, by restoring their function in
reality based, practical movement: the way your body was designed and has evolved to freely move
without pain. Instead of the conventional boot camp mentality, which emphasize unnecessarily long
aerobic work, TACFIT is 20 minutes of safely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pure Econom Ic Loss And Consequential Economic Loss
There is a fundamental distinction between Pure Econom ic Loss and Consequential Economic
Loss, as Pure Eco nomic Loss occurs independent of any physical damage to the person or
property of the victim. What is common to both types of claims is that in order to successfully
claim or even have a leg to stand on there must be proof of a duty of care having been broken. As
long as you can show the defendant has breached their duty of care and you have suffered
foreseeable damage then you can recover. The problem with Pure Economic Loss is that the
classes of people who can recover is very limited. The Courts have tried to keep it this way in
order to keep the number of claimants as low as possible. The fear is that if claims for purely
economic loss are allowed then it would encourage more claims of this type. Chief Justice
Cardazo from America stated Recovery of economic loss in the absence of physical damage or
per sonal injury would expose defendants to liability in an in determinante time to an
indeterminante class. This general rule applies in Scotland, meaning that if there is no liability for
causing Pure Economic Loss, this is be cause of the Courts reluctance to open the floodgates to an
infinite number of claims. The rules for how the Courts respond to these claims are set out in
Common Law which has evolved over the years, where patterns have formed and have now
established one of the vital legal frame works for Delict Law in Scotland. A crucial case
Prepaid Funeral Plans
A funeral is meant to give meaning to the life of a deceased individual. It acts as an opportunity for
loved ones to convene and remember the deceased while simultaneously providing one another with
comfort and support. Planning funerals is nothing short of an emotional process, one which involves
many legal and financial matters. By planning ahead of time with prepaid funeralplans, you can plan
the service exactly how you want it and pay for the entire service ahead of time, saving your friends
and family from the burden.

Prepaid funeral plans are appealing for a multitude of reasons. The first is that they are paid for in
advance, which means that families are not burdened with the cost or any decisions pertaining to
cost during their time of grief. Even if the services are not paid for entirely, money can be set aside
for funeral plans through a payable on death account which is opened in the name of the beneficiary
for your estate. This type of bank account is not subject to probate and will go directly to the
beneficiary upon death, enabling them to pay for the plans you have made. ... Show more content on

You can keep a written copy of your request in a safe deposit box or at home where your family
can access it upon death. You can contact different funeral directors in your local area to compare
the packages and prices ahead of time. You can also formally request information about the costs
of services in writing before you finalize your funeral plans. Staff can help you prepare documents
such as death certificates and obituaries. If you or your loved ones have cultural or religious
preferences you can discuss this ahead of time with the funeral directors and they will ensure you
have the appropriate clergy member for your
The Protection Of The European Union Essay
The protection afforded to the individual in United Kingdom by the European Union

Since the United Kingdom became a member of the European Union in 1973, former known as the
European Economic Community, a big variety of changes in the legislation procedures relating to
the custom duties, economy, free movement, and social security appeared.
After the two World Wars the European countries started to unite themselves, the main aim being to
end the frequent wars and secure peace between the nations. In 1950 the European Coal and Steam
community started to unify politically and economically the European countries for the purpose of
bringing lasting peace.
The Treaty of Rome signed in 1957 brings into being the European Economic Community. The
founders of the European Economic Community are France, Germany Italy, Luxembourg, Belgium
and Netherlands. In 1973 United Kingdom, Denmark and Ireland joined the European Economic
Community.
After the collapse of the communism in 1990, the Europe countries grew closer and in 1993 four

money and services between the member states.
In 1993 the Maastricht Treaty came into force to unify the forward movement made during those

the countries, economically and politically. This formed the European Union as we know it today.
In 1999 Treaty of Amsterdam brought a

The Conflicts Between Good and Evil Found in To Kill and Mockingbird by Harper Lee

In her book, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses many different characters and parts of the plot
to show how deeply the conflict between good and evil can affect everyday life in a small Alabama
town in the 1930 s. The setting of her book is Maycomb, Alabama. Racism between white and
black people was a very big problem in Maycomb. The white people did not like the blacks and
thought they were bad people. The two main characters are Atticus Finch and Tom Robinson.
Atticus is an important lawyer, and he has two children, Scout and Jem. The conflict of racism
explodes when Tom is set up by an evil ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first, the Sheriff acted like most of the people in the town, even though his conscience started to
bother him.
At the end of the book, Bob Ewell tried to hurt Scout and Jem in the forest because he wanted
revenge on Atticus. During Tom s trial, Atticus made Bob Ewell very angry at the questions he
asked and the evidence and Bob Ewell wanted revenge. Boo Radcliff killed Bob Ewell and the
Sheriff saw it, but he changed the story to say that it was an accident because he knew Bob Ewell
was evil and that Boo was a good man. The Sheriff s decision was another reminder about the titled
of the book, To Kill a Mockingbird because Boo was a Mockingbird character just like Tom.
Harper Lee also showed a conflict between good and evil by using the characters in her story. She
showed the conflict inside a man s own conscience when Atticus had the courage to stand up for
Tom. The Sheriff also had goodness in his heart when he decided to not tell anyone what he really
saw when the Boo Radley killed Bob Ewell. Another example of conflict within Atticus heart was
his fear for his children s safety versus his belief that it was the right thing to do to be Tom s
The Development Of Human Growth And Development Essay
Human growth is a fact of life we all experience it whether we want to or not. It is what we are
expected to do. There are many theories that are associated with human growth and development but
one thing that remains true throughout is that all humans go through stages of development from
birth to death. We all experience change in our life times. These changes help to shape us as human
beings and hopefully as well adjusted human beings. Everything from our environment to our
learning styles to our interactions with others can be described as human development and growth.
Our interactions with scripture and how we interpret it is also part of our development. The Bible
should play an important role in our development. It should be one of the many factors that
contribute to it. We, as Christians, should learn what the bible says about human growth and
development so that we may pass it on to future generations. Since we are relentlessly trying to
explore human behavior, it should seem reasonable to Christians that their source of knowledge, the
bible, should be used as the textbook on intellect and human behavior. This should be the most
authoritative textbook on the subject of human behavior. It is respected, it is impartial, and should
be the final word on the subject. It should not matter whether people accept the principles of God s
Word or whether they agree with them or not, because every one (young, old, rich, poor, black,
white, legal or illegal) are
