Summary Of The Book The Watsons Go To Birmingham
Kenny does not treat people better than Byron. Kenny is as big as a bully as Byron is. He has
had multiple moments of rudeness. For example, Kenny hit Larry Dunn twice, Kenny laughed at
Cody and Rufus when Larry made a rude joke to them, and when Byron got stuck to the mirror,
Kenny had a wonderful time making fun of him. In the book, The Watsons Go to Birmingham by
Christopher Paul Curtis on page sixty Kenny hit Larry Dunn twice. Byron said, Pop him , hence
Kenny popped Larry. The initial time he hit Larry it was not strong enough, therefore Larry
received another slap. Kenny really did not want to strike Larry, but he did anyway. This shows
Kenny follows the bully by being a bully. Kenny, Cody, and Rufus were sitting on the
In The Wake Of The Plague Summary
In the novel In the Wake of the Plague by Norman F. Cantor he researches the details etched into
the minds of us Americans about the Black Plague. Cantor states that the Black Death was
probably not solely due to rodent borne forms of the bubonic plague. He will begin to prove his
argument by the use of biomedical context. When a human contracted this disease without antidote,
there is a four out of five possibility that he will die within two weeks. The first stage is marked by
flulike symptoms, normally accompanied by high fever. In the second stage, black welts and bulges
appear on the victims. These bulges vary in size and are known to be extremely painful. Diarrhea
and vomiting also accompany this. The third and often most fatal stage is basically pneumonia.
Today if this was to outbreak once more, the patient can be treated with antibiotics during the first
two stages. If the patient reaches the third stage, the antibiotics may not work. During the time of the
bubonic plagueand the Black Deaththey didn t have antidote to be treated with. Antibiotics did...

Also, this subject is quite similar to what is going on in this day and time with the wide spread
virus known as Ebola. Surveying recent biomedical research on the Black Death, he believes that
two diseases were at work in the 14th century during the Bubonic Plague, identified as the one of the
major components of the Black Death, and a variety of anti humanoid Anthrax. The result was
devastating, with up to 40 percent of Europe s population dying from the diseases. Among the
historical consequences, Cantor believes it was the end of the Plantagenet s Anglo French Empire,
for the Black Death decimated the peasant population that supplied the English kings with the skilled
infantry archers that were the backbone of England s military power
Benefits Of An Limited Liability Company From A Legal...
The LLC remains a limited liability company from a legal standpoint, but for tax purposes it can be
treated as an S Corp. Be sure to contact the state s income tax agency where you plan to file your
election form. Ask about the tax requirements and if they recognize elections of other entities (such
as the S Corp).
Advantages of an LLC:
Limited Liability. Members are protected from personal liability for business decisions or actions
of the LLC. This means that if the LLC incurs debt or is sued, members personal assets are usually
exempt. This is similar to the liability protections afforded to shareholders of a corporation. Keep in
mind that limited liability means limited liability members are not necessarily shielded from
wrongful acts, including those of their employees.
Less Recordkeeping. An LLC s operational ease is one of its greatest advantages. Compared to an S
Corporation, there is less registration paperwork and there are smaller start up costs.
Sharing of Profits. There are fewer restrictions on profit sharing within an LLC, as members
distribute profits as they see fit. Members might contribute different proportions of capital and sweat
equity. Consequently, it s up to the members themselves to decide who has earned what percentage
of the profits or losses.
Disadvantages of an LLC:
Limited Life. In many states, when a member leaves an LLC, the business is dissolved and the
members must fulfill all remaining legal and business obligations to close
The Pros And Cons Of Ida B. Wells
The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting Sun Tzu. Many of the famous
Civil Rights leaders would agree with this quote, but while there also leaders that wanted violence.
Many famous people of this time period had differing opinions on how to make the lives of African
Americans safer. The primary sources from Wells, Washington, Turner, Du Bois, and Harper
showed their separate opinions on how to better the lives of African Americans, and each person had
positives and negatives, but the alternative offered by Ida B. Wells would have caused larger
problems between the black and white communities. Two of the alternatives proposed were
considered radical and almost dangerous to the African Americancommunity. The first radical idea
was proposed by Ida B. Wells. She believed that the African American population needs to stand up
against the government to show that the lynching and unjust treatment in America is unfair. Wells
was famous for her boycotting of the railroads, and she wanted every household to have a gun just
in case of emergencies involving the white people. These ideas were very radical for the time period
because she wanted people to hurt others first, she famously states, The strong arm of the law must
be brought to bear upon lynchers in severe punishment, but this cannot and will not be done unless a
healthy public sentiment demands and sustains such action . Ida B. Wells had passionate beliefs, but
this would not be the best
Aids in the Bahamas
AIDS in Bahamians, ages 15 44
A major cause of death of Bahamians in the age group 15 to 44 is AIDS. This is a result of
unprotected sex, ignorance and the reluctancy to get tested and treated. Many Bahamians engage in
sexual intercourse without the use of contraceptives. Ignorant to the dangers of AIDS, they believe
that nothing will happen. When and if there is a slight belief that one is infected with AIDS,
Bahamians tend to hesitate to get tested or treated because of appearances. However, as research,
investment and commitment into understanding HIV and AIDS increased, so the outcome of people
living with HIV improved around the world ( AVERTing HIV AIDS ). With innovative and private
methods many organizations have formed for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, 93% of females can transmit the AIDS virus to males during unprotected sex.
Furthermore, 94% of the combined sample recognized that the AIDS virus can be transmitted
through heterosexual relations. In addition, Rodgers and Rolle state that only 32% of the
sexually active combined sample ensured that they always used condoms during sex. This means
that 68% of the sexually active adolescents in this survey are conducting in unprotected sex which
can very well, lead to AIDS. It is evident that in this age group, these is reckless and irresponsible
engagement in sexual activity which has led to the dangerous AIDS epidemic. After interviewing
Ms. Sandra Smith, age 21, it was found that she was a prime example of a young Bahamian
engaging in reckless unprotected sex adding to the AIDS epidemic. Ms. Smith said, I was 20 when
I found out I had AIDS. I have about six serious partners before I got tested. I had sex with them all
without using protection . When Ms. Smith was asked why she did not use a condom she responded
by saying, I really do not know why I did not use a condom. I guess it was all in the heat of the
moment. It was all fun, at the time ! Ms. Smith ended the interview by saying that, I regret doing
what I did, my stupid actions, not using protection. It is the reason that I have AIDS. I am not
proud of my actions but it is the truth. I have AIDS and I will probably live a short life because I
had unprotected sex .
Leonardo Da Vinci And The World Of Engineering
Engineering Drawings Military vehicles and weapons, flying objects, like planes and drones, robots,
the study and understanding of kinesiology, and our knowledge of how water flows... This may
seem like a random list of things that have no significance to each other at all, but they all in fact
have something in common. The common thread that links these things is Leonardo Da Vinci.
Leonardo has impacted the world of engineering in so many different ways, it is almost
impossible to count them all. He is considered to be the father of numerous innovations and
designs and some of his original works are still being referenced today. This essay will discuss
Leonardo and how his inventions were not only masterpieces in his time, but also how they provided
a foundation for future engineers to build from. It all started in the little town of Vinci, just twenty
two miles outside of Florence, Italy (DaVinci Tech). Leonardo da Vinci was born on April
fifteenth, 1452, to a family that was not very wealthy; so he could not afford any form of education
(Leonardo da Vinci). Despite this, Leonardo s designs were still way beyond his time. Leonardo
lived in Vinci for some time, but eventually moved to Milan, a military based city at the time, where
he drew some of his first designs. Milan s environment stimulated his military inventions. Today,
military vehicles and items are very commonly seen around the world, and a lot of them originated
from Da Vinci s designs. For example, Leonardo s
The Invasion, By James S. Hirsch
The explosion of racial violence that engulfed Tulsa, Oklahoma is arguably one of the worst cases
in U.S. history. This essay will focus on the violence, economic destruction, social humiliation, and
racial discrimination in Tulsa s black community using the in text essay, The Invasion , by James S.
Hirsch. This history consists of the police actions to elevate the violence, and how white leaders
attempted to maintain the status quo in Tulsa. Racial inequality during this period of time was
immense in the Southern part of the United States. Neighborhoods were segregated on the
distinction of color, businesses were segregated, and all aspects of life were bounded by
segregation. Racial inequality was rampant, and the idea of white... Show more content on

The black community in Tulsa felt that they were the victims to oppression, violence, and
humiliation by the white community. This sentiment is proven through the actions of the Tulsa
police force; supported the burning and targeting of black lives, and property. Dick Rowland an
African American was arrested on false accusations of assaulting a white women, it began to
circulate that he may be killed; armed blacks arrived to the courthouse to protect him but the police
refused their request. Similarly whites were beginning to assemble to the courthouse, which
escalated tensions cemented the theory of Rowland being killed by whites. Gun fire was exchanged
and as a result violence erupted between whites and blacks. Instead of the police quelling the
violence; they contributed by deputizing white civilians, providing weapons, doing little action to
disperse the white mob (Chris Messer). These white mobs conflicted havoc throughout Greenwood,
they burned houses, and they looted which terrified the black community. Through these acts of
violence, the black community felt anger, sorrow, helplessness, and humiliation. Otis found his home
destroyed, the vegetable garden covered with ash, his mother and grandmother heartbroken...Otis
wanted nothing more to do with this city... (James S Hirsch). Blacks also felt they were the victims
Relationships In Dante s Inferno And Gunther
Throughout this semester all of the assigned texts have relationships between characters. There was
female female, male female, and male male relationships. Each of these categories drive the plot with
the use of relationships and bonds typically found between the characters. Today let us focus on male
malegroupings and how their relationships were written and interpreted. Since there are many
different pairs to choose from I will be focusing on Dante and Virgil,Siegfried and Gunther, as well
as Roland and Charlemagne. Each of these relationships have similarities and differences that
highlight and expand upon the character s traits. To start off with in The Divine Comedy, Dante and
Virgil s relationship can be interpreted as Guide and pupil, pseudo familial, or even of a tyrant. The
relationship demonstrated from the first page describes
And I to him: Poet, I beg of you, in the name of God, that God you never knew, save me from this
evil place and worse, lead me there to the place you spoke about that I may see the gate Saint Peter
guards and those whose anguish you have told me of. Then he moved on, and I moved close behind
him. (Inf I,130 136).
This description of guide and follower starts from the beginning and Virgil leads the inexperienced
Dante through the nine depths of hell. Dante asks the poet to lead ... Show more content on

The initial relationship between these two characters is one of friendship and jolly
cooperation. This cooperation is shown when Gunther is helped by the invisible Siegfried in the
winning of Brunhilda. In the book the scene is described Brave siegfried went up to the king and
told him not to be afraid, but to speak his whole mind to the queen (Nibelungenlied 63). Showing
how Siegfried is willing to help his friend win over Brunhilda. This show the friendly and family
esque relationship between the two
George Washington s Farewell Address
In George Washington s Farewell Address, Washington warns against the dangers of political
factions by stating, it occurs as matter of serious concern that any ground should have been furnished
for characterizing parties by geographical discriminations, Northern and Southern, Atlantic and
Western; whence designing men may endeavor to excite a belief that there is a real difference of
local interests and views (Washington). However, despite American leaders such as George
Washington and James Madison warning of factionalism, the country would be divided by political
parties arising out of the Northern and Southern states of the union. By the time Walt Whitmanwrote
Songs of Myself in 1855, tensions in the United Statescreated by factionalism were at a high and
were constantly elevating. In writing Songs of Myself , Whitman sought to help mend some of the
wounds created by factionalism by seeking to bring together Americans whom factionalism had
rendered alien to one another and by teaching to believe in oneself rather than the beliefs of
political parties. When Washington wrote his Farewell Address, he had already made the decision
to retire from his job as president and return to his home on Mount Vernon. No longer was he
concerned with making a future for the country. Instead he was concerned with offering the parting
advice of an old and affectionate friend . Washington offered his advice on a number of different
topics, but the most relevant topic to politics
The Tragic Heroes Of Hamlet And Oedipus
The Tragic Heroes Hamlet and Oedipus
A hero in a drama is the focus point throughout the story, someone who technically saves life s and
carries pride within them. In Hamlet by Shakespeare and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles they simply
create a tragic hero due to their stories having a twist in what a hero turns out to be at the end of the
dramatic stories. They have similar issues as well as they have their differences in their stories.
Shakespeare and Sophocles create a similar touch to their dramatic heroes, and not only do they write
those type of stories but they also create different characteristics to them and defining them in other
ways that can be entertaining. Even though in both Hamlet, and Oedipus contain tragic endings, both
main characters were viewed as heroes at one point in the story, however the authors did not create a
same character each main character has their own characteristics and each author had their way of
writing a drama. Shakespeare and Sophocles wrote different things and as well as Shakespeare is
known for his poems, he is also known for his dramatic stories with a tragic ending.
Hamlet, the son of a king, happens to lose his father while in a short amount of time his mother
marries his uncle, the brother of the king of Denmark. While Hamlet is trying to figure out
everything, the ghost of his father happens to appear, and it tells him that his uncle the current king
of Denmark is the one that caused his death. As crazy as it sounds, it is true, his
The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan
As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the
same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the
regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the rules
needed to pull the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the
Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the rest
of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the
developers are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable
and reliable code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and
they are left with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19
