Michael s Story: I get into so much trouble just by walking : Narrative Knowing and Life at the
Intersections of Learning Disability, Race, and Class
Introduction
The purpose of the article s introduction is to highlight the challenges that students from minority go
through in special education schools. Linking his personal experiences as a former special educator,
Connor strives to explore the intersection of learning disability, race, and class. The author collected
data by conducting interviews with a participant researcher to get his side of the story. Connor
planned to compare his LDs experiences with his own.
Valuing Narrative
Connor opted to use a narrative as a means of expression since most people understand issues better
when they are conveyed as a narrated story. Michael, the participant researcher, narrates the
discrimination he went through during his time in school. Being a student with a learning disability,
he was segregated from the other normal students, and they always taunted him because of his
condition. The fact that he is black, physically challenged and comes from a working class
background makes him feel less entitled to receiving a decent college education (Connor, 2006). His
situation that even in the education sector, the playing field is not fair as far as minority groups are
concerned.
Choosing poetry
Connor elects to present his findings in the form
Political, Economic, and Religious Developments in France
Discuss the political, economic, and religious developments in France during the reign of King
Louis XIV, and how the other states of Europe reacted to create a balance of power designed to
check France s rise in power and influence both in Europe and overseas. Louis XIV created a
highly centralized monarchy, the most centralized that had ever existed in Europe up to this
point. He eradicated the remnants of feudalism in France and created a court that revolved
around his personality. He was a passionate believer in the divine right of kings. He had a great
deal of support for his reign from the intelligentsia of the era, because of his patronage of writers
and artists. However, he also drained the power of Parliament of any influence. When the Prime
Minister died, Louis assumed sole responsibility for reigning over his kingdom. Louis is reputed
to have claimed I am the state , and although this statement may be apocryphal, his will was,
indeed, the will of the state in matters of military matters and foreign policy (Louis XIV, 2011,
Oxford Companion to Military History). He constructed the famous palace of Versailles as a
testimony to his power, but also to keep an eye on the aristocrats in the court. Louis pursued an
aggressive foreign policy for most of his reign. To the very end, the other European monarchs
resisted his dominance. The final cataclysm of the ongoing struggle between France and the rest of
Europe cumulated in the War of the Spanish Succession,
Staples Incorporated, By Founder Tom Stemberg
Corporate Overview
Staples Incorporated, began in 1985 by founder Tom Stemberg. Tom Stemberg with experience in
the supermarket chain eventually became an entrepreneur. Tom wanted to make a local supply store
/ stationary store to buy a supply Tom needed, many stores didn t offer what he desired. The idea
then came to him that The world needed a supermarket for office products (Stemberg 1985). Staples
then became the very first office supply store. The first store was opened May 1, 1986 in Brighton,
MA. In the years to come, competition started to arise, in result Staples came up with their very first
slogan Yeah, we ve got that this help staples get a lead in the competition with Office Depot, but the
slogan that carried them to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Demographic, is practiced by the occupation and how the business is based on office supplies,
Demographic is the main one on Staples market segmentation, most of the consumers come in
because they are looking for products that must do with office supplies, where it be paper, file
cabinets, binders and most things one can think of. The last and final one is Psychographic, in
marketing this is the most needed and it focuses a lot on Pathos. Pathos is used in Staples by once
again the Eco Easy. The Eco Easy focuses on making the environment greener and by buying
products from staples you are helping the environment. Now this attracts green people especially the
business men who want to see a change in the environment they can contribute by buying these
products. Evaluating market segments is critical to marketing strategy development. (FrogDog2012.)
These market segments I think are very important to companies because it helps them get the
competitive edge and advantage when trying to market the products. This also comes with the slogan
that Staples has, the marketing from That was Easy is the bread and butter of the company.

Product and Service Analysis

The product that Staples provides targets the geographic, demographic, and psychographic by
slogans the advertisement that Staples has. The Eco Easy products has been a big hit for the
company ever since it came in to play. The
Connectivity And Related Survivability Issues Of Wsns
In the previous section, we mainly focus on the connectivity and related survivability issues of
WSNs. It is the foundation that we deploy WSNs to achieve its main objective which is to monitor
the field of interest / detect desired data and it is coverage that determines whether the field of
interest is under strict surveillance or not. So, in this section, we will summarize the related work
on integrated connectivity and coverage problem in WSN. In [68], [69], it s clear that connectivity
only requires that the location of any active node be within the communication range of one or more
active nodes such that all active nodes can form a connected communication backbone, while
coverage requires all locations in the coverage region be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objective of the research efforts on relationship between coverage and connectivity is to utilize
the minimum number of sensor nodes to achieve required coverage degree while maintaining desired
system connectivity.

In the following parts of this section, we will firstly summarize the related work on analyzing the
relationship between the sensing range Rs and communication range Rc. Then, we demonstrate the
research efforts on finding critical conditions for achieving connectivity and coverage. Finally, we
survey the approaches on connectivity and coverage in WSNs.

Critical condition for 1 coverage to achieve 1 connectivity:

In [68], [69], authors first time proved the sufficient condition for 1 coverage imply to 1
connectivity: for a set of sensors that at least 1 cover a convex region A, the communication graph is
connected if Rc≥ 2Rs . Based on this result, when we design a WSN system, we can focus on node
deployment strategy and elimiate the connectivity problem by assuming the Rc≥ 2Rs. Zhang and
Hou in [70] present a distributed Optimal Geographical Density Control (OGDC) scheme that
considers the integrated combine coverage and connectivity problem. The objective of this work is
to minimize the number of active nodes in the WSN. Similar to [68], [69], the authors also proved
that coverage implies connectivity when Rc≥ 2Rs. In OGDC, the nodes can automatically
History 302 Reflection
Theory and history I always thought never go together and when it was required for me to take
History 302 I was very confused why it was a theory class. At the start and throughout the class it
was a struggle to keep up what it meant to look at history through a Marxist, cultural, or social lens
and how that had anything to do with theory. The class was a struggle but not impossible as each
article or monograph that were given out for readings provided insight of what these lens were
meant to do. Even though I have taken upper division classes at CSULA and studied historiography,
history302 provided me with a new perspective on how history progressed through time. This course
brought me a variety of different viewpoints that I did not see... Show more content on

Marxist lens allowed me to change my grand narrative view of history and be able to see the
struggle between two parties and how that was rooted in many monographs and lectures. When
we were discussing about Marxist and Marxism I connected more closely with that than the other
lens that was taught later in the year. I always saw the struggle between two parties as the root in
every history and monographs but always assumed that it was how history was researched and
taught. It slightly changed my perspective as I now know that my lens was not grand narrative
but more of a Marxist. This allowed my progression as a history student to be able to look at
monographs and be able to figure out the viewpoint the historian is trying to establish to the
readers. I had the most difficult time with Foucault and his social theory as it was hard to separate
what I believed was economic when it was social. Eric Avila and his cultural theory was a bit easier
for me as I felt more comfortable with cultural theory compared to social theory. This class provided
me with different monographs based on each theory that has strengthened my skills with writing and

Eating Disorders and Ballet
Eating Disorders and Ballet Anorexia Nervosa is Eating the Soul of Young Dancers

The applauding audience, the lights, sequins and feathers, the colorful, elaborate tutus, and satin
pointe shoes capture the hearts of young girls. Where else can a young girl dream of becoming a
princess, a swan, a dancing snowflake or flower, or a sugarplum fairy? Where else can she be a fairy
tale character like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty? Where else can she be rescued by her handsome
prince and collapse into his arms? Ballet is the magical world where these dreams can come true.
Young girls and women can be all of these things, symbolizing femininity in a culture that teaches
young girls to be and want everything pink and pretty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pressure to be physically perfect is so severe in dance studios today that young women and girls
often suffer from a disease, anorexia nervosa. This disorder also affects male dancers, other men,
young girls and women, and even children as young as four years of age (Cohen). An estimated
0.5 to 3.7 percent of females suffer from anorexia nervosa in their lifetime (NIMH). However,
anorexia is more severe and most recognized in the dance studio in the female dancers.

Anorexia is an emotional and physical illness in which a person refuses to eat. This can be a fatal
disorder. The word anorexia means without appetite; nervosa means nervous. Hence, anorexia
nervosa is best translated as a nervous loss of appetite. Anorexics are extremely hungry most of the
time and extremely underweight, but they refuse to eat because of their fear of gaining weight
(Anorexia Nervosa, Wuhl 483). This disorder often includes depression, irritability, withdrawal, and
peculiar behaviors such as compulsive rituals, strange eating habits, and division of foods into good
/bad and safe/dangerous categories (Anorexia Nervosa and Related Eating Disorders Inc., Mitchell
11). Dieting may represent avoidance of, or ineffective attempts to cope with the demands of a new
life stage such as adolescence (American Academy). For dancers, this eating disorder can be
brought on if a dancer changes studios and needs to reestablish her place in the hierarchy. If a
Database Management System ( Dbms )
A database management system or DBMS is a certain type of system software, which is used for
the creation, and management of databases. A DBMS serves for multiple purposes but is mainly
used to provide users and programmers with a systematic way to retrieve, create, manage, and
update data. A DBMS serves as an interface between data and its end user, making sure that data is
consistently organized and remains easily accessible to users. DBMS s are vital to several
aspects of our technological world and are responsible for the data organization of several
thriving industries in this world including banking, airlines, wealth management, manufacturers,
credit card companies, and telecommunications. A DBMS is useful for providing a view of data
that can be accessed by multiple users, from multiple locations at one time. A DBMS can act as a
filter and can limit what a user sees and also sets limits on how that user can view data. Users and
programmers are free from having to determine where the data is physically located or on what
type of storage media it resides because the DBMS simply deals with all requests. The DBMS can
give both logical and physical data independence, which means that it can protect its users or
applications from needing to know where data is stored. Although a DBMS benefits several sectors
of the world, they are by far most beneficial in business organizations. Thousands of companies
depend on accurate recordings, updates, and tracking of their data

Friends star Jennifer Aniston announced their separation following two years of marriage, reports
