Greed Is Good By Neel Burton
Introduction Throughout society, several individuals ponder on the notion: How does greed lead
to one s demise? However, before discussing the consequences of greed, one must consider its
motives. Greed is developed when an individual faces adversity early on in life or becomes envious
of others because it motivates them to search for an alternative that fills the void of deprivation. To
guarantee that their desire is fulfilled, their greed will lead them to perform impulsive and irrational
actions, resulting in their demise.

Motives for Greed The origins of greed stem from encountering hardships at a young age and
becoming excessively jealous of others. Within an article titled: Is Greed Good, Neel Burton
argues that greed often arises from early negative experiences such as parental inconsistency,
neglect, or abuse. In later life, feelings of anxiety and vulnerability, often combined with low self
esteem, lead the person to fixate on a particular substitute for what she once needed but could not
find (Burton). When an individual is prematurely exposed to adversity, they are withheld from
fulfilling their desires or needs because their oppression prevents them from doing so. As a result,
they dwell obsessively upon an alternative for what he or she is deprived of, leading to their
greediness because they will go to great lengths to ensure that their desires are achieved.
Furthermore, in Othello, Iago expresses, Till I am even d with him, wife for wife, / Or
Should Historians Emphasize Agriculture Or Human Sacrifice...
Should Historians Emphasize Agriculture or Human Sacrifice? I think historians should emphasize
agriculture. Did you know that Aztecs used Chinampas to produce crops? Yes, Aztec can produce
about four crops a year. The Aztecs lived from 1350 through 1519. Two important parts of the Aztec
society was human sacrifice and agriculture. So, should historians emphasize agriculture or human
sacrifice? I think historians should emphasize agriculture than human sacrifice.
Agriculture helped many people out because if there wasn t the Chinampas, people couldn t eat and
they d starve to death. (Document B) Military needed fed the most because if you eat, you get
energy and strength to do things without being so tired.(Document B) When the military is fed, they

The chinampas are about 17 feet long and 100 to 130 feet wide.Willow trees helped provide
shape for the plants growing so, the plants wouldn t die from scarce source of sunlight. Men
harvested and planted all the crops on the chinampas, women took care of the crops by, grinding
up corn or other food growing on the chinampas.(Document B and C) Human sacrifice had their
main focus on their god(s), so they d sacrifice anyone life for their god(s), besides agriculture helps
find people in hunger to have energy for a day or for a couple of hours.
Farming helped out agriculture more than human sacrifice. Agriculture focus on food and to make
sure that everyone has strength and military needs strength to expand the land for Aztec. (Document
A) Chinampas take up about 20,000 acres. (Document B) Human sacrifice only works or really
does on care out their god because their god needs energy by drinking human blood, but agriculture
can live by the chinampas because chinampas can produce
Worst Time In My Life
A time in my life were an incident occurred that had had a major impact on me was this summer.
This summer was probably one the worst times in my life because my dad left my mom. He left
us with nothing because my mom was the reason why they were no longer together. I couldn t see
my dad anymore or even talk to him. I was left feeling depressed and not wanted. At this point in
my life I hated and I did wish I wasn t alive at that time, It was such miserable time in my life were
nothing got better it just kept getting worse and worse. I cried myself to sleep every night
because I thought everyone hated me and that nobody wanted me. I was stuck babysitting all the
time because my mom was out trying to make money. All my grandma did was talk about how
horrible my dad was and how she wanted him to die. It just made me mad because it was my
mom s fault every part of it was but I couldn t say that because I loved my mom more than
anything in this world. I also knew she would flip out on me if i said it was her fault because she
knew it was. The thingthat made it ten times worse was that she found someone new and he was
the biggest piece of trash ever. My mom is my queen, she is the best thing that has ever happened
to me, and I couldn t imagine life without her . She just tries so hard to make everyone else happy
that sometimes it brings her spirit down. I know she didn t leave my dad to make everyone upset,
she just needed a break because five kids and a husband who is always

Occupational Therapy Code Of Ethics And Professional Conduct
It is the responsibility as well as an expectation for Occupational Therapists (OTs) to maintain a
professional behaviour, in order to build a therapeutic relationship in and outside a therapeutic
setting. The OTs have a duty of care to use the correct knowledge and skills to enhance the life
quality of a service user. 1 There is no clear cut definition for Professionalism. However it can be
defined as upholding and applying the values of a profession by having specific knowledge about the
occupation. As well as accepting that certain attitude, beliefs, values and behaviours are integral
components on professionalism.2

In a research done in mental health, it was noted that clients placed substantial focus on the therapist
ability to build a therapeutic relationship. They focused on the relationship being built on care, trust
and respect. There are many aspects to building a rapport with service users, with the importance on
maintaining a professional behaviour in the healthcare system.0 In relation to Occupational Therapy
Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, the occupational therapist must maintain within the
professional boundaries during and after the treatment of the patient. It is crucial for an OT to build
a therapeutic relationship with the client, however the therapist must behave in an honest manner by
not getting involved in any activities or behaviours which can damage the public s confidence in
their profession. 4 This prohibit the therapist in entering
Advantages Of Frugal Innovation
Introduction

There is a growing need for simple, cost efficient, commercially viable technology solutions for
complex or day to day problems to turn the restrictions and constraints into advantage. Frugal
innovation is any innovation which works around the constraints financial or otherwise to either
increase efficiency of a process or service or effectively lower costs for an organisation or section of
people.

Frugal which is also known as Jugaad innovation works around the concept of creation of products
or services which are extremely cost efficient ,uses the resources to the maximum limit and makes
use of new age technologies which reduces the cost in the entire process of business. Frugally

Jugaad innovations in India
Every day , there are new platforms of technology like cloud computing that are incoming, which are
reducing cost of production, making it a lot more easier for the growth of frugal innovation
With the poor growth rate in the developed nations, price has become one of the major factors in
everyday increasing demands for low cost products which are good enough in getting the task done
In India there is abundance of people with the frugal bend of mind, The presence of Jugaad attitude
in people means there is no dearth of local innovators which would use all the possible means in
terms of low cost resources, technology to develop new products with the frugal centric approach
The presence of middle class in large number in India serves as a high motivation factor for
development of frugal innovation as there is already a ready made market for products which are
cost efficient and
Adult Learning Essay 2
Research Paper: Adult Learning

Education beyond high school, even beyond a Bachelors degree is a critical requirement to obtain a
decent rewarding employment in today s society. However, many individuals do not graduate high
school or college for many reasons: unexpected pregnancies, lack of family support, need of
financial aid, etc. These individuals who return to some kind of higher education later in life are
known as adult learners, or the non traditional students. Adult learners over age 24 currently
comprise about 44 percent of U.S. postsecondary students. (Kahiz, 2007) These individuals make up
a group of students who differ from traditional students. An adult learner possesses any of the

Brookfield (1995) states that, adults face moments of transformative breakthrough, of empowerment,
of emancipation and of liberation, what figure equally strongly in adult students accounts of learning,
particularly those focused on critical reflection, are feelings of impostorship, acknowledgments of a
disturbing loss of innocence, accountings of the cost of committing cultural suicide, descriptions of
incrementally fluctuating rhythms of road running, and recognition of the significance that
membership in an emotionally sustaining learning community has for those in critical process .
These stories are the dark weaknesses of the inspirational rhetoric of adult learning. Impostorship is
the sense that one possesses neither the talent nor the right to become a college student. (Brookfield,
1999) While these students want to be in college, they secretly doubt their worthiness to be a
college student and a critical thinker. Brookfield (1995) states that in his research, not all but most
adults felt this sense of impostorship regarding the rightness of their taking critical perspectives on
familiar ideas, actions and social forms. He also mentions that, this feeling does decrease over time,
but it rarely disappears entirely. Brookfield (1999) also mentions that the moment of public
Johannes, Jan Or Johan Vermeer
Johannes, Jan or Johan Vermeer was a magnificent Dutch painter who specialized in domestic
scenes of common middle class family life. Vermeer often hailed as the most famous artist of the
Dutch Golden age, or perhaps second to only Rembrandt himself. Johannes Vermeer would not be
recognized as a wealthy man, later in life, alas, his younger years did include various hardships
which included a lavish rich lifestyle. Growing up in the Netherlands in a small city named Delft,
Johannes was would be greatly influenced by his father, his father was only a middle class worker
who worked for years in an industry that manufactured silk products. Eventually, Johannes father
would leave the silk industry to pursue another profession, which was to become

Thankfully, we re all on the third floor. Coach Russell begun heading their up towards the guest

Symbolism In Wicked By Gregory Maguire
One never learns how the witch became wicked, nor whether that was the right choice for her, is
it ever the right choice? Does the devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil?
Gregory Maguire, author of Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West tells the
story of the green girl named Elphaba who grew up to become one of the most iconic evil
characters in history. While telling her story, Maguire incorporates symbolism and similar senses of
style, genre, and theme to give his words deeper meaning and to capture the essence of his characters.
Born in Albany New York, on June 9, 1954, Gregory Maguire would soon become a very well
known and accomplished American novelist. Maguire was raised in a family of ... Show more

He is very evasive when it comes to certain issues and instead of directly talling you things, he
leaves you guessing what they mean. Maguire writes in an episodic style where he breaks his
novels up into small standalone sections that jump through time. In Wicked he jumps from
Elphabas childhood to her college years to her adulthood, which leaves large intervals of time that
never are told. This creates a sort of enigmatic or mysterious character for Elphaba, which makes it
more realistic since you can never know really know a person s full life story with all the
Research Paper On The Truman Show
The Truman Show Film Review
The Truman Show is a science fiction film, which is directed by Peter Weir in 1998. Jim Carrey,
Ed Harris, Laura Linney these great stars join this film, and their acting is fantastic to play their
roles. The movie brings the audience a new experience, persuades people to explore and consider
the world they live. Peter Weir uses a simple way cleverly to show his concept through a person s
growth to show the life in the world. This film can lead the audience to experience the fake, the

Bowling for Columbine Essay
Bowling for Columbine

In 2002 Michael Moore s film Bowling for Columbine won the Oscar for best documentary.
Unfortunately, in my opinion I do not believe that this movie is a documentary or truth. Bowling for
Columbine is FICTION! The movie makes its points by easily deceiving and misleading the viewer.
Moore uses deception as its primary tool of persuasion and effect.
A major theme in Bowling for Columbine is that the NRA is coldhearted towards the killings. In
the movie Charlton Heston (President of the NRA) comes to Denver to hold a large pro gun rally
for the National Rifle Association. During Heston s speech he reads a message from the mayor of
Denver that states, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Don t come here? We re already here! quot; From the viewer s point of view it seems that the NRA
rushed to Littleton to hold rallies and demonstrations directly after the Columbine tragedy. I ve
actually done a little research on this topic in high school. I found out that the demonstration in
Denver was not related to Columbine, but in fact an annual meeting, whose place and time had been
fixed years in advance. At Denver, the NRA cancelled all events (normally several days of
committee meetings, sporting events, dinners, rallies, etc.) save the annual members voting
meeting that could not be cancelled because the state law governing nonprofits required that it be
held. [No way to change location, since under NY law you have to give 10 days advance notice of
that to the members, there were upwards of 4,000,000 members and Columbine happened 11 days
before the scheduled meeting.] Bowling however used deception by not providing all the facts. In a
letter to NRA members, President Charlton Heston and the group s executive vice president, Wayne
LaPierre, said all seminars, workshops, luncheons, exhibits by gun makers and other vendors, and
festivities are canceled. All that s left is a members reception and the annual meeting, set for 10 a.m.
May 1 in the Colorado Convention Center. Under its bylaws and New York state law, the NRA must
hold an annual meeting. Heston and LaPierre also wrote another letter stating, The tragedy in
