name anywhere on your submission. When you submit an
assessment, you are declaring that it is entirely your own work.

You should write a 3000-word assignment on person centred care

 This assignment will be based on an episode of care. You can
choose to focus on an episode of care from your placement
experience, or you can choose to use an episode of care
from your simulated learning week. You will find a summary
of these in the ‘Simulation Week Case Studies’ folder on
Blackboard.
 Identify within your introduction if you are referring to a
simulated case study or an episode of care from your
practice experience.
 Concisely define any key terms and concepts and support
with evidence.
 Explore the importance of adopting a person-centred
approach in nursing. Support your discussion by referring to
a model of person-centred care and apply this to your
chosen simulated practice case study.
 The assignment must be written in the third person, avoiding
personal pronouns such as I, you, we.
 Take care to write in an academic style, avoiding informal
language and slang.
 In accordance with the NMC (2018) Code of Conduct,
confidentiality must be maintained throughout the
assignment to ensure places, people and specific events are
not identifiable, any names and identifiable
information must be anonymised.

 Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential in


nursing practice. Discuss how these skills can help a nurse to
maintain a person-centred approach and link this to your
episode of care. [400-500 words]

• Define and discuss interprofessional teamwork in relation to the


episode of care and explore potential advantages and barriers that

It is essential that you maintain any individual’s anonymity. You


should use pseudonyms for all names: patient, staff, clinical area,
Trust and so on. Please read the Confidentiality guidelines in
Assessment guidance area.

Presentation/formatting guidelines:

 Your student roll number should be the title of the final


document. Do NOT insert your name anywhere in your
assessment as anonymous making is used.

 Please do not use bullet points, headings, diagrams or pictures.


 Ensure the assignment is proofread and spell checked before
submission.

 Select a neutral and readable font like Calibri or Arial.
 Font size should be 12 and line spaced at 1.5. Please justify and
format text.
 Number all pages.
 Your student roll number should be the title of the final
document.
 Your ‘in-text’ citations and final reference list should be written
in APA 7th Harvard style. Please use the University of Salford’s
referencing handbook to avoid errors in referencing – see guide
here

 Provide a final word count (not including your final reference


list) at the end of your assessment. There are suggested word
counts for each section of the assessment criteria, but the
overall word limit should not exceed 3000 words. The word limit
is 3000 words.

For this assessment the use of tools, software, or features of

of AI to generate a response to questions in this assessment, or the
assessment brief, is academic misconduct. Reliance upon AI tools
