California state university will send me on my path to my future. California State university, the
Northridge society, one of the best technology schools and should allow me to have the best
education.
The Northridge has high standards to attend this University. Their acceptance rate is about 59%,
which is actually pretty low compared to a lot of other schools. They need to know both of your
ACT, and SAT scores to have a better chance of getting in then someone with a lower score. You
should have an 880 for the SAT and 16 ACT score to at least have a chance at the school. They
would also need to know your GPA score from your high school year, which should be a 3.75. Your
test score should also be sent to the collage so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Shawshank Redemption Reflection
The movie our class watched and reviewing is Shawshank Redemption. This movie is directed by
Frank Darabot and the producer of the film is Niki Marvin. The movie was released on October
14th, 1994. Shawshank Redemption is a R Rated movie, which, is intended for the mature. Andy
Dufresne is the main character in this film, Andy was acted out by Tim Robbins. There is a narrator
in the movie (which, narrators about Andy as time goes by in Shawshank prison) was narrated by
Morgan Freeman. This narrator is Ellis Boyd Redding or Red, an inmate and friend to Andy. The
last characters I believe to play a major role in the movie is the Warden of Shawshank, Warden
Norton is played by Bob Gunton; and Captain Hadley (Clancy Brown).
Andy Dufresne was a successful Vice President banker, that was tried and convicted for the
murder of his wife and the man whom his wife cheated on. In 1947, Andy was sent to Shawshank
to serve two murder charges or two life sentences. Dufresne arrives at Shawshank with a bus full
of new inmates and meets the guards and Warden Norton. The first years (two years) are brutal
for Andy. He doesn t really have any friends and he is harassed by a group of people called the
sisters. Overtime he builds a relationship with Red and the other friends of Red. He shows off his
banker skills with Hadley and becomes a pet to the Warden. The Warden helps Andy with
harassment from the sisters and excuses labor for him. Officer Hadley ends up beating the sister that

Would The World Be Better Off Without Religion Research Paper
Why the World Would be Better off Without Religion The world would be better off without
organized religion because it has become one of the main causes of war. This world has
experienced diversity since the beginning of time; from race to sex to ethnicity and more. As Scott
Linfield said, some of the world s greatest atrocities have been perpetrated in the name of religion(
Would the World Be Better Off Without Religion? ). Looking back in time, 9/11 was caused
because of the Islamic religion. The bombers took 2,996 lives that day because they believed that
killing innocent families and people, along with themselves, would send them to a greater place.
Although, not all Muslims are going to take innocent lives, the terrorists attacks by... Show more

Imagine no suicide bombers, no 9/11, no 7/7, no Crusades, no witch hunts, no Gunpowder Plot,
no Indian partition, no Israeli/Palestinian wars, no Serb/Croat/Muslim massacres, no persecution
of Jews as Christ killers, no Northern Ireland troubles ...Imagine no Taliban to blow up ancient
statues, no public beheadings of blasphemers, no flogging of female skin for the crime of
showing an inch of it. (pp. 1 2) Altogether, people having hope that there is something that will
save them is understandable, especially if someone grew up only knowing religion. However,
saying that religion is a necessity to life, and people are better with religion is completely not
true. Nobody can know what the world would be like without religion, but if you live without
religion for a time, you realize it still is not hard to be a good person with morals without religion.
Religion is not the reason that people are growing up wise or responsible, mature or kind, it is
who they are. If they push themselves to be kinder because of religion they are doing it for their
own reason, but nobody should need religion to push themselves to be kind. People should grow
up learning to be kind. With the facts that religion has caused wars and damage to people, imagine
if people did not have religion to start wars or hurt people over differences. There would be other
differences and diversity people found to fight over, but at that point
Differences Between Deming Juran And Crosby
Differences between deming juran and crosby
Use of measurement
Deming Juran and Crosby considers measurement as very important to improve quality but they use
it in different ways. For Juran and Crosby they view the cost of quality as a focus of measurement.
Cost can measured in dollars and for both Crosby and Juran they consider that money is the language
of management. Success of the efforts of the quality will be ultimately measured by meeting
customer requirements. Juran normally considers the cost of all the poor quality as a important
factor because it shows how much they are losing. He also knows they are other factors which are
important to measure such as how the organization compares with the competition and how

The Truman Show And Fahrenheit 451 Comparison Essay
Separate Dystopias Alike Yet Not
In the novel Fahrenheit 451, Guy Montag is a fireman. A fireman, according to the novel, burns
books rather than putting out fires. Montag meets Clarisse, a girl who changes his perspective on
life, and teaches him to think. In the society of Fahrenheit 451, the government bans people from
reading books because books bring knowledge. The government does not want its citizens to
acquire knowledge. In the movie, The Truman Show Truman Burbank is in a television show from
the day he was born. He is unaware about his society controlling him until he meets a girl named
Sylvia. After that moment, he questions his whole life and eventually escapes the world he lives in.

Montag s society is unaware that they are being controlled. In Fahrenheit the people are controlled
by the government on what they can think or do. The people are blissfully unaware of the dystopia
they live in. Although Montag realizes that the government controls them, the citizens still cannot
grasp the concept. Truman s society is aware they are controlled. The society is a bunch of actors
and they are controlled by a director. Truman is unaware of this for a good percentage of the movie
but soon realizes that everyone knew.
Montag and Truman face many differences in each society. Another difference is that Montag tries
to revolt against his society, whereas Truman just tries to escape his society. Montag realizes that
the government controls his society and wants to help people realize. Montag wants to bring
knowledge to the dystopia. Truman realizes that his society is being controlled and tries to escape it.
Truman wants to escape the dystopia. Their lives critique people of modern times society by proving
they should observe their surroundings more and take more things into
Frederik Schiller s Letters On The Aesthetic Education Of Man
The role of art in human life has been studied by several philosophers throughout time. Frederik
Schiller (1795 1805), in his Letters On the Aesthetic Education of Man develops the theory of the
drives to explain the fragmentation of the human being and places art in a reconciliatory role
between man s personal nature and the community. The present essay will discuss in some detail
Schiller s theory of the drives, placing the main focus on the role and importance of the play drive in
humanlife, to finally discuss the features in Schiller s theory of play that help elucidate the role of
art in human life.
According to Schiller, men in modern society experiment a conflict between the cultivation of
individual talent and the welfare of their community as a single being. This conflict results in an
alienation of the being and its consequent fragmentation. Taking this into account, Schiller states
there are two aspects of human nature to be considered: the sense drive and the form drive. The
sense, or sensuous drive, is born from man s physical existence, and thrives to achieve constant
change of matter within a limit of time (finite). It is man s most primitive state . On the other hand,
the form drive, born from man s rational nature, thrives to free man and maintain his person despite
all the changes of his condition overlooking a limited time frame (infinite).
This duality of human nature brings forth an imbalance in man s nature when one of the senses
overpowers the
The Centralization And Development Of Urbanization In Africa
Africa is a rapidly urbanizing continent, experiencing tremendous growth and transformation with an
increasing concentration of cities. Today, it boasts a greater number of urban dwellers than Europe,
Australia, North or South America. However, situations were not always so promising. The arrival
of imperialism and the start of colonial rule in the 19th century served to exploit the growth of
physical, economic, and human resources of a flourishing Africato benefit European powers. By
setting severe economic and social restrictions on things such as trade and education, the Europeans
developed a colonized state which arrested all other natural development of the African system.
Nonetheless, during the approximately five and half decades after independence, citizens began to
slowly migrate to city hubs around the continent as various countries like Ethiopia and Tanzania
developed socially and politically. This movement from rural to urban, a typical mobility
characteristic of Africa, resulted in an expansion of leadership, institutions, and technical domains
such design and finance. Urbanization has thus played a significant role in the development of
factors including gender, inequality, and economic growth, as well as downturn. However, it has
presented both opportunities and challenges which, in turn, have impacted the state of cities in
modern day Africa.
Since 1960, African cities have been growing fast, more so than the population. A direct result of this
rapid urbanization has been the growth of opportunities for people seeking a better, comfortable life
with their transition out of rural settings. For decades, this increased centralization has brought
various cultures, perspectives, and talents together in an effort to place Africa on the global,
economic scale. However, a drastic consequence of the growth of cities has been an increased
inequality amongst its members, both economically and in terms of the standard of living. Income
inequality creates a significant discrepancy between the rich and the poor. Whereas large
manufacturers enjoy wealth through their involvement in an export oriented economy, laborers work
through grueling hours in tiring conditions to earn minimum wage which can barely
Proposal On Juvenile Delinquency
Juvenile Delinquency has been an active issue in the criminal justice system that is considered as
an evil by the society. It is believed to be a social and psychological problem faced by the youth and
the society, which violates the legal system. The violation of the legal system makes it important to
overcome the problem. The need to prevent the juvenile delinquencyis important to help the youth
cope with the society as well as the criminal justice system. The prevention of the delinquency is
only possible if the results can be gathered for the causes of this behaviour. The causes can be
gathered by examining a group of youth who can become possible offenders by knowing that what
causes the delinquency and at what stages of the life does it trigger. The paper will be focus on the
problem of juvenile delinquency, and the factors that contribute towards the onset of delinquency in
youth. The research proposal would be based upon the previous research s done and the data
collected by those research s that depicted some of the possible factors of delinquency found in
youth that could be childhoodmaltreatment, negative relationship between the parents and the
delinquent youth, emotional disturbance faced in the adolescent, genetics and the geographical
factors. The factors would be further investigated by using them as independent variables in the
research to find out how these factors can be removed to make the community aware of the negative
impacts the
Preservation Restoration Of Degraded Or Low Quality Lakes
The majority of the world freshwater is shallow and confined to lowland areas (Beklioglu et al.,
2011). These shallow polymictic lakes usually with a depth of less than three meters are an
important natural resource and facilitate numerous services, as result having a crucial economical
and conservation value (Beklioglu et al., 2011). High quality of these lakes has become a political
obligation with initiatives such as the European commission s water frame work directive
implemented both locally and internationally. Therefore in order to maintain this value the
management restoration of degraded or low quality lakes is a widespread and key process. However
understanding the fundamental physical, biological and chemical aspects of the ecosystem is a
crucial starting block in these restoration process.
Shallow lakes have become the archetypical example of ecosystems with alternative stable states, a
clear state dominated by and submerged flora, and a turbid state with high phytoplankton biomass
(Scheffer et al., 1993; Scheffer and Jeppesen, 1998). Unlike turbid lakes, clear shallow lakes are
often dominated by submerged macrophytes which facilitate high biodiversity, high water quality
and provide higher lake aesthetic qualities, they are thus considered a crucial element of a healthy
clear shallow lake ecosystem. As a result from a conservation and economic standpoint the clear state
is the ideal that is aimed for during restoration and management. Shallow lakes often
Gatorade Persuasive Essay
Gatorade is a product that was created for the sole purpose of helping athletes excel in their sport.
It was designed to help replenish what you lose during sweat while rehydrating yourself. It is
known and advertised as a healthy drink to consume. Though, many people don t realize that it has
almost the same amount of sugar in it with 34 grams then as a can of coke with39 grams ( How
much sugar... ).While other products such as their protein bars have the same amount of sugar
(30grams) as a regular size pack of Starburst. The common misconceptions of how healthy Gatorade
really is over looked by the professional athletes who help advertise their product. Gatorade needs to
decrease the amount of sugar in their products or needs to stop advertising them as a healthy product.
Gatorade was first created In 1965 when a University of Florida football coach met with a group of
the university physicians and asked them to determine why so many of his players were being
affected by heat. The researchers found out a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

World War Two Was The Largest Ever Global Military Conflict
World War Two was the largest ever global military conflict and lasted from 1939 to 1945. The war
was fought mostly between the Allies who mainly consisted of the United Kingdom, United States
of America and the Soviet Union and the Axis, mainly Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan. The Axis
were formed out of mutual goals and to secure each of their own expansionist interests while the
Allies were created in retaliation to stop their aggression throughout Europe and Asia. There were
many theatres of war throughout such as the South East Asian theatre which was one of the
bloodiest conflicts during the war and lasted from 8 December 1941 9 September 1945. The balance

Singapore was also renowned known for its strategic location within South East Asia and
capturing the base would provide a significant boost in capabilities of naval invasions to other
islands (Bergland, 2014, Online). Taking over Singapore would have crippled the Allies
offensive capabilities within the South East Asian and Pacific regions while Japan could proceed
to invade the oil rich islands of the Dutch East Indies with much more ease and less fear of
counter attack. On the 8th of February 1942, the Japanese put this strategy into effect and
invaded. General Tomoyuki Yamashita, nicknamed The Tiger of Malaya , was in command of
the Battle of Singapore, he and his soldiers were outnumbered at a one to three ratio. His men
were also limited to just two bowls of rice each and 100 rounds of ammunition a day. Yamashita s
strategy, or more famously known as Yamashita s Bluff , was an ingenious tactic to fool the
Allies into believing the Japanese had more troops, supplies and equipment than what the soldiers
really had. Yamashita himself also stated My attack on Singapore was a bluff a bluff that worked.
I had 30,000 men and was outnumbered more than three to one. I knew that if I had to fight for
long for Singapore, I would be beaten. That is why the surrender had to be at once... (Ron Taylor,

Characteristics Of Selflessness
Finding the right balance between being independent but not selfish is issue that has been around
for ages and leads one to ask, how exactly are they different? Distinguishing between these two
traits is not easy, and in many ways they seem somewhat similar. However, despite their surface
level similarities, self reliance is a central part of maturity and independence, while self
centeredness is a form arrogance. One of the defining characteristics of self centeredness is being
overly confident in one s own abilities and rejecting help from others. In most cases, self
centeredness is most clearly seen as simply failing to take heed of others caution. Such is the case
with Chris McCandless who, while not being completely selfish, certainly had his moments in
which he displayed a complete disregard for the warnings of others. Throughout his journey,
McCandless is warned that the Alaskan bush is too wild for him and that he does not know what
he is doing, yet he goes anyway (Krakauer). Self centered people do not see the need to take
advice from others, and in doing so they fail to see their own shortcomings. Self centeredness is
also commonly followed by foolish arrogance, which almost always places one in a
compromising, or even fatal position. In To Build a Fire, a man is overly confident in his own
abilities and it ends up costing him his life: The man had been very serious when he said that no
man should travel alone in that country after 50 below zero. Well, here he
Romanticism In Film
Romanticism was a movement that started in the 1700 s that focused on emphasizing pathos,
inspiration, individualism and superiority. Most films have a dimension of romance between a main
character and a supporting character. A romance film is any film that the central storyline features
the romantic involvement of two characters.
Many romantic films do not have fairy tale stories or happy endings, although love serves as a shield
against the harshness of the real world. Romantic films often elaborate the main theme of love at
first sight. Romanticism refers back to the romantic characters of the Middle Ages and also modern
films. Romantic love on film is a universal human experience that produces intensely powerful,
strong feelings. Romantic Literature has had a strong influence on modern day films through pathos,
folklore, and love. Pathos is a communication technique used most often in rhetoric, and in literature,
film and other narrative. Pathos is a appeal to the emotions of the person, and elicits feelings that
already reside in them. Pathos is also a communication technique used most often in rhetoric, and in
literature, film and movies. Disney has perfected the art of using pathos to popularize their many hit
movies. Essentially, Disney plays on the feelings of their audience to create emotional connections
between them and the characters. Some movies for an example would be snow white, cinderella,
lion king, tarzan, the little mermaid, beauty and the beast,
