METHODOLOGY

INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR FLOOR TOPPING UP & LEVELLING PURPOSES

1. Prior to installation of Lightherm lightweight screed, lay out waterproofing membrane on the
area to ensure that the water would not pass through it. A proper water ponding test should
be carried out too.

2. Before pouring Lightherm screed, expansion joint shall be installed at every 2000mm x
2000mm interval.

3. Preparation of Lightherm 250 Screed with cement mixer.

• To obtain 0.2m³ of lightweight screed,

-1 bag of Lightherm (170 litre) is to be mixed
with 50kg of cement and 20 litre of water.

• To quantify using a bucket/pail, use the

following ratio:
-6parts (bucket/pail) Lightherm beads
-2parts (bucket/pail) Ordinary Portland
cement
-1part (bucket/pail) water
-Mix for 5minutes

4. Pour Lightherm 250 screed to the accordance level of thickness. Material should be allowed
to cure for a minimum of 24 hours prior to the installation of cement-sand protection screed.
5. Cement sand screed with a minimum thickness of 50mm to be applied above
Lightherm 250 screed, smooth trowel finished.

Walkways

Driveway and parking

METHODOLOGY

1. Prepare the surface by making it clean and free from dirt.

2. Use a compactor to flatten the area.
3. Place string lines as guide for the desired elevation.
4. Excavate 1 ½ inch on the surface.
5. Lay out the first TRAZO tile at the right corner.
6. Apply 25mm thick cement mixture as adhesive at the back
of tile before installing.
TRAZO cement pavers are two-inch thick, heavy duty concrete pavers used to make
roads, driveways, patios, walkways and other outdoor platforms.
Trazo pavers are permeable, non-skid, weather-proof and reduce heat as compared
to cement finish. They are very durable with PSI rate of 4000-7000 and come in colors
like orange brick, red, brown, yellow, and grey.

METHODOLOGY

6” Drainbloc

6-12” Aggregates

1) Excavate the area with depth of 12"-18".

6” for ¾ size gravel base course

2) Install underground electrical and plumbing pipes before installing the

DrainBlocs.

3) Flatten the area with compactor or roller machine.

4) Place string lines along the desired elevation to serve as guide when seating the
Drainbloc for the finished floor elevation.

5) Install the first unit of Drainbloc in one corner. Remember to keep the units tight
during installation and follow the string lines. Use rubber mallets to "seat” the
units snugly.

6) The individual Drainbloc units can be cut to size to accommodate a variety of

different shaped working areas or obstacles within the working area with a
concrete grinder.

7) Finish off with a border to keep the pavers in place.

DECOBLOCS
Decobloc is a concrete block that has been made with a blend of concrete, sand and
gravel. It is lightweight, nonstructural, and features holes for ventilation. They are most
often used in warmer climates and for privacy walls on entryways, patios, gardens, and
courtyards.

Size: (25 cm x 15 cm x
Coverage: 28 pcs/sq.m
Weight: 3 kls
PSI: 2,500

Methodology:

1. Gather your materials. (Decoblocs, Spacers, Steel Tape, Level, and Construction Adhesive).
2. Make sure you are installing your Decoblocs wall on top of a solid level structure. In this case
we are using a concrete footer.
3. Concrete will be the most common and best equipped material for these projects.
4. It is possible to install Decobloc walls indoors as well – just make sure the surface is level
and solid. Keep in mind breeze blocks are not meant to be load bearing.
5. Before starting any installation, lay out all of your Decoblocs. Unlike tile, Decoblocs aren’t
meant to be cut, so you want to have the whole pattern as part of the wall.
6. Your wall measurements should correspond to your Decobloc layout, so you avoid having to
cut any. Be sure that you’re measuring for space between the blocks as well that will be taken
up by grout (in our case 3/8 inch for the grout).
7. To lay the first row of breeze block, be sure to make guide marks on the supporting concrete
structure. These guide marks need to be precise and boldly drawn.
8. After making your marks, use a wet sponge to clear off the dust on the base.
9. This first row must be centered and aligned perfectly as it’ll be the foundation for the rest of
our wall!
10. Keep building the wall out, row by row, using the adhesive and spacers. It’s best practice to
build around 2 rows at a time to ensure adhesive can dry before continuing to build upwards.
Otherwise, you’re at risk of the wall getting out of alignment.
