Unwritten Norms In Society
How is it that when a person steps outside the law there is repercussion? Is it that the person is in
the wrong or is it something else. The law a lot of time is a huge contradiction, but society
decides who is guilty or who is innocent. Some laws are unjust and some are fair. What is the
cause for such laws to enact harsh or unjust treatment? Society forms its ideas and beliefs based on
the norms of that society. When a society is form, it generates social, economic, and unwritten
norms. If these norms are broke or disobeyed it can lead to appalling consequences. In a society, its
norms are the most important aspect and even exceeds the laws that is wrote in some cases. These
norms are what provides the regulations and systems in a society.... Show more content on

The unwritten norms that a society follows use the technique the looking glass self, to insinuate
how they want the world to see themselves. These norms are typically based off how a society was
form and its religion. These are the norms that people disobey without sometimes knowing. These
are the everyday norms that people either follow or don t. For example, a person who wears a suit
and tie or is casually dressed is consider the ideal person in society. While a person who wears
informal clothes or clothes in an informal way such as, sagging, improper outfits for a social event,
and dressing informally in the workplace is showing signs of deviance in a society. Another example
of the unwritten norms is culture. The culture of a country has to keep its identity and strives for
improvement. When the culture is losing its identity the government attempts to fix or recreate its
identity. The unwritten norms are the norms that help form the social and economic norms and
without the unwritten norms, society wouldn t know how to create a just law making system. The
social norms are the norms in which, communication and understanding others actions take
Iphone Attack Research Paper
On December 2, 2015, fourteen people were killed and twenty two were injured in a terrorist
attack. This horrible action took place at the Island Regional Center in San Bernardino, California.
The two terrorists of the shooting were, Tashfeen Malik and Syed Rizwan Farook. Apple is asking
to expel the court order that requires the company to give the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) a
hand in breaking into the iPhone of one of the San Bernardino shooters, saying that it is a violation
of the Constitution. The FBI wants Apple to make a way to unlock the IPhone. I agree with the
FBI, because many people lose their lives in terrorist attacks, not knowing who caused the event and
what could have been done to stop it. With this code, it saves many... Show more content on

As my teacher Sister Hargrove, This is going to affect many of us. Even though hackers may get
into the phone, I still believe that lives are more important. Just imagine, if one of your loved
ones were in 9/11, the Boston bombing, the Aurora shooting, or the San Bernardino shooting.
Wouldn t you want that password to the phone, to see what plans the terrorists had or other
people are planning to do? Tim Cooke s wife Barbara Olson, died in 9/11, in one of the four
hijacked planes, and I am very surprised he does not want to help the FBI. In conclusion, I want
Apple to help the FBI with this San Bernardino case, because I believe the lives of people matter
and we as people need to know what is going on. So far, Apple does not want to help the FBI and I
believe they are sticking with their word. The FBI wants Apple to create a backdoor to get into the
IPhone, so then they can brute force their way in. This situation is not only in the United States, in
China and Russia. I believe many people agree with Apple and others with the FBI. Although this
tragic event caused many deaths and injuries, who do you stand with? The FBI or
The Effects Of Global Warming On The Environment
Global warming is one of the biggest critical and controversial issue facing the world in the twenty
first century. Releasing carbon dioxide at contemporary rates will soon thrust Earth s temperature
significantly up. If the world keeps on going to burn fossil fuels at the current rate, crossing a
threshold will hurt all aspects of human civilization: food, water, health, energy, economy and
national security and of course, the environment which is the most important aspect. How does it
influence our life? What are the effects of global warmingyou might ask yourself? Well, there are
many effects that global warming is having on the environment, particularly rise of sea levels,
melting of glaciers, and climate change.
One of the main motivations for the ocean level rising is that an unnatural weather change is
creating hotter temperatures and ice tops and icy masses are dissolving. Ocean levels rising
would impact 70% of the world s populace and 11 of the 15 greatest urban communities on the
planet since they are situated on the drift. In the course of the most recent century, the ocean level
has risen five to six crawls and it is relied upon to rise 0.6 to two feet in the following century ( 20
Countries Most At Risk From Sea Level Rise 1). An essential reasons for an unnatural weather
change and the levels of the seas rising are greenhouses gasses, including carbon dioxide, methane,
and nitrous oxide. The gasses are decimating the air, bringing about the temperature to
Essay on Pastoral Ministry
Christ is the leader of the Church, Paul in Ephesians 1:22 said God placed everything under his
feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the Church however, God entrusted the
authority to lead to his servant whom he set them aside to lead the community. Pastor as a public
Leadership is to lead community. A person who is called by Godto lead public has a responsibility to
be in the community, with the community and for the community. One of best questions raised in
the class during public leadership discussion was How we can be a community pastor rather than
just a church pastor? This really a kind of question we are to consider as pastor especially as rural
congregation pastor. In most cases when pastor are called to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, God is able to give breakthrough once he called his people to ministry, that is why Paul
said I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13)
It is not an easy task to carry out public leadership, you have to know almost everything,
counseling marriage on the verge breaking down, baptizing dying babies, administering Holy
Communion for dying individuals, leading marriage ceremony with unusual and complicated
scenario. It is also not easy to accept ministry as God calling rather than as job placement or
vocational opportunity. It is tough to accept the people, their culture, tradition and the whole
identity. God called us to ministry so that we will be able exercise his full authority (Matt 28:16
18) with full humility (Philippians 2:6, 2Cor 8:9, Rom 5:6 8). We have to deny ourselves and
follow the footsteps of Jesus our Lord (Luke 9:23).
Finally a pastor has to know the distinctions of Authority and power. It is not uncommon to see
pastors are using power instead of the authority God given them. . Authority is responsibility that
derived from someone greater than us. That means the full responsibility
Batman The Killing Joke
Batman: The Killing Joker is one of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland s most renowned works,
famous for its interpretation and illustration of the infamous Joker s origin, and the true nature of
his character in relation to that of the Batman s. The story revolves around the Joker, and his
purpose to prove a point (Moore 21) to Batmanand the world, his point being that There is no
different between [him] and everyone else! All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man
alive to lunacy (Moore 45). His attempts to achieve this purpose develop to become two of the three
climatic turns in the story, the first being the shooting and paralysis of Barbara Gordon, and the
second consisting of her father, James Gordon, forcefully being taken onto... Show more content on

Similar to the Joker s, Barbara s clothing as well held significance, mainly to foreshadow the
anguish the Joker makes her go through when taking naked pictures of her. Barbara is clothed in
low neck shirt, and a knee high dress, and during her shooting, while she falls, more and more of
her legs are exposed, along with a small portion of her cleavage in the last panel. The vulgarity of
the scene immediately implies a relation to a sexual act, in this case, most probably being
sexually violated by the Joker. The emotions brought up by the illustration in the first two panels
come rushing back to the reader, but with a greater impact. They eventually realize the pain
Barbara is going through in the duration of the sequence. Although the writers and illustrators
could have chosen a simple shirt and pant, the dress and low cut shirt, which allowed a more
revealing illustration of Barbara, do a better job in presenting and foreshadowing her sexual
assault. Similarly, the particular place where Barbara is shot by the Joker implies the same ideas.
The Joker shoots Barbara in her pelvic area, in order to break her spine and paralyze her. Even
though the spine could have been broken by shooting
Comparing Protestantism And Roman Catholicism
Not only does a religion revolve around its beliefs, but also its traditions. Two religions may be
looked at as ultimately the same because the beliefs are very similar. The reason as to why such
similar religions are regarded differently, is due to the difference of traditions of each religion.
Protestantism and Roman Catholicism are examples that share many of the same Christian beliefs
but have different traditions. As previously mentioned, both Roman Catholicism and Protestantism
are similar in some ways. Both are two of the largest religions that exist today. Both being one of the
three branches of Christianity, they have the same roots. An example of these common beliefs is the
distinction of Heaven and Hell. Those who sin... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, Catholics believe in purgatory which is a state of preparation before entering Heaven,
whereas Protestants do not.
Another major difference is the status of a Pope. In Roman Catholicism, the Pope is the head of
the church and carries down tradition of Roman Catholicism. The Pope is allowed to speak on
behalf of God and has authority of the Church. Protestants believe that no one person can be the
head of the Church. They believe nobody can speak on behalf of God except for the Bible and the
Holy Spirit. Therefore, Christ will always be the head of the Church. Protestant churches may have
a pastor who serves to teach the teachings of the Bible but cannot make bold decisions on behalf of
the Church. Lastly, a major component that distinguishes Roman Catholicism and Protestantism is
how to be on the side of God. Protestants believe that as long as you believe in Jesus Christ, you
have established a connection with God and can reach Heaven. Catholics believe all other
religions are false. As a result, Catholics believe that followers must take part in holy acts such as
holy orders and baptism along with faith. Protestants however, believe just by believing in Christ
will offer justification by God. They believe sins were paid for when Jesus died on the cross while
Catholics believe in sharing the pain and working for
Memory Loss Research Paper
I wasn t able to look at the positive aspects of a relationship with someone who passed until I was
able to start to really grieve their death and the loss of the future with them before I was able to
truly look at the positive aspects of our relationship and the memories of. It was too painful to look
at until I started to grieve. The book also mentioned that some children may want to make something
in memory of the lossof the individual. It could be in the form of a collage, memory box, a memory
book, a drawing, a poem, a short movie, a song, a play, a painting, whatever the childfeels like
making is good. Some children may even ask others to get involved in the project. Something that
stood out for me in the book as well was that children are encouraged to hold a memorial service.
This is where the child can include their loved ones if desired to share what they would like to
share, their stories, their feelings, whatever they want to share. When my niece had passed, it was
suggested by the grief counselor that my nephew do this and he did. He did this at the cemetery
about one month, after she was buried (when he was ready). He talked about how he was going to
miss seeing her. When she was buried he buried her with a toy pink plastic cell phone. I m not sure
how that all came about I think it had something to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

grades has good behavior and really is a good kid. He really came out of it all really well. God the
whole family really pulled together during this time. If we could just get him off the video games.

Their Eyes Were Watching God Comparative Essay
Compare and contrast the presentation of self fulfilment in these two texts (Their Eyes Were
Watching God and She stoops to conquer)

Women are traditionally excluded from reaching self fulfilment According to Jane Austin due to the
gender expectations of women. Depending on relationship status which was either married or single
both roles had different but similar expectations. For a married woman, it would be to be a housewife
and a single woman was expected to have domestic housework as proper work or their work
would always have the concept of welfare. So it was almost impossible for women to think about
themselves because over the years a woman s traditional responsibility would be to take care of
everyone else besides herself. On the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Their eyes were watching God was published in 1937.According to critics Their eyes were

movement for artistic African Americans. It gave Artists the opportunity to express themselves
freely. Zola Neale Hurston happened to be a writer whose work was really recognised. The book
their eyes were watching God referenced events that took place in her life when she was a man
called Punter. So being the woman that she was she had to choose between being a loyal and
dedicated housewife or a free spirited artist that uses her work as sustenance. However, for the
book She stoops to conquer by Oliver Goldsmith is an 18th century comedy which was based on
certain segments of society around that time. Looking at the character of Kate Hardcastle we see
that she came from a wealthy home and she does obey her father. We see that her father s opinion
really matters to her a due to his decisions which he has made under his roof it led us to the certain
