A Narrative Essay On A Fair
What should we get on first when we get there? asked Becky. I don t know. How about we get on
the ferris wheel first, it looks super fun. said Lisa as they were riding in her mom s car on the way
to the fair. They were so excited to finally be able to go to the fair since last year they had to shut
it down early. I wonder why they shut it down last year because it wasn t on the news. Everyone
said that it was because someone died. Yes, that s exactly the reason it shut down, how did you
not know that? Becky said. FInally they arrived at the fair and got out of the car. Don t forget you
guys have about 6 hours here then meet me by the theater parking lot at 8:30. So have fun and
watch out for weirdos because you guys heard about what happened last year at the fair. Just be
careful. Lisa s mom said, Don t do anything stupid, she said as she began to drive off. After that
Becky and Lisa went to go purchase their tickets for the fair. They began to get very excited as
they were walking closer and closer to the big rides, amazing smells of burritos and pizza, and
people screaming of joy. Hurry up I want to get on the ferris wheel before the line gets super
long. And we have to get on the that one ride that spins diagonally. We have to do so many thing
while we re here so hurry up. Lisa exclaimed to Becky as she was tying her shoes. When she was
finished they walked fastly to the long line for the ferris wheel. Time seemed to go on forever while
they were
Target News Report Example
On March 15, 2017, an unidentified woman walked into Target in Alexandria, Virginia. Although
this story may sound absurd, I find it very ridiculous that something like this actually happened.
Police are looking for a woman who came into the store dressed as a Target employee. Anyone
who has ever been to target knows what a Target employee wears to work, a red shirt with khakis.
It may also be a coincidence that this lady came in dressed like that. The outcome was compeltely
opposite. It turns out that this woman walked into Target dressed as an employee in order to go into
the stockroom and ended up stealing $400,000 worth of iPhones. The police report also stated that
the woman is not affiliated with the store, but she appears to have... Show more content on

Who knows, but on the bright side, I felt as if I was working for the FBI attempting to investigate
this case. The article that I found that was fake was the article about the dead body found under
the bed that has been there for at least 5 years. I first found this article on snopes. However, when
I looked up the article on google, I found it on a website called Empire News. Instantly I knew that
the article was obviously fake because at the top of the page, there is an option that says write for
Empire News. Since the author did not even bother to include their name, it seemed very sketchy
to me. Obviously, being able to create and account and write for a credible news source is not
something that can be easily done. Also, with the fake article, there were no photographs or
videos that had a time stamp on it, in order to be able to verify that the story occurred when the
article said it did. Another thing was that in the fake article, it stated that the owners from the motel
asked that their name and location be omitted from news reports in order to be able to protect their
business. The problem is that they later then wrote a quote from an employee. If anyone was
attempting to actually figure out the name of the motel, they could figure it out through her name. I
imagine that my fake article would have been posted all over social media as well as every news
Hot Hand Shooting In Basketball
On Tuesday night, I sat down on the couch in my living room and watched an NBA basketball
game on ESPN. My favorite team was facing up against the best team in their division, and I was
anxious and curious to see who would win. After a devastating and gruesome four quarters, my
team lost 77 to 111. To say the least, it was a very hard gameto watch. The players on the Los
Angeles Lakers couldn t buy a shot even if they tried, while the players on the Golden State
Warriors effortlessly made nearly every shot they attempted. I wasn t surprised when the post game
statistics revealed that the field goal percentage for my team was 37.3%, while the other team s was
48.95%. On Wednesday morning, I researched the individual field goal makes and... Show more

I had lost all hope for the Lakers, and current event journals were right around the corner. I went on
to sciencedaily.com to decide on which article to type about, and as I was scrolling through the titles
I came across Mathematical proof for hot hand shooting in basketball. I clicked on the link and
started reading through it. I read about how earlier this summer, economists Joshua Miller and
Adam Sanjurjo (associated with the universities of Bocconi and Alicante) published a report
explaining that the previous research is flawed by selection bias and that the hot hand phenomenon
might not be a fallacy after all. This got my full, unwavering attention and I continued to read.
Within the paper, Miller and Sanjurjo included a basic example to aid in explaining their findings.
In their experiment, a person flips a coin four times in the air. Sanjurjo elaborated (quote), We noted
the results of each throw, and calculated the percentage of heads tossed immediately after another
head for all possible throw sequences. He went on to say (quote), The results were unexpected: the
proportion is not 50%, as we intuitively believe, but actually around 40%. These results suggest the

Immigration Problems In America
America is often referred to as the Land of Immigration ( A History of Immigration in the USA ).
The foundation of America was built on immigration, when in 1492 Christopher Columbus, an
Italian explorer, discovered the Americas. Not only is immigration the base of America s history, but
it is also beneficial to the economy and society. Immigration increases the labor force, including
everyday, necessary jobs (Anderson). Therefore, immigrants are beneficial to the economical and
societal growth of America. To begin with, immigration causes a number of problems for America.
The first problem is that America is being overrun with immigrants. This problem is focusing on the
undocumented immigrants. A solution to stopping undocumented immigrants from overrunning
America is building a wall. The overwhelming increase of immigrants is causing a problem for U.S.
citizens; because of immigrants, jobs are taken away from American citizens. A third problem that
immigration causes is that immigrants are a drain on society s resources (Cole). Government
benefits should be cut off from immigrants. Stopping these benefits would save money and diminish
incentives for immigrants to illegally enter the United States(Cole). Although immigrants come to
America, they refuse to assimilate (Cole). Their refusal to assimilate denies America of its cultural
and political unity. An example of this is the large migration of the Chinese to California in the
1850s. These Chinese immigrants
Aquinas Argument Analysis
In this essay I will examine Aquinas argument that the ultimate end of Man is the beatific vision of
God. Then, I will dispute Aquinas claim by arguing that Man s incomprehension of the Divine
Essence is a negation rather than a privation. Finally, I will use my objection to show that Man does
not have an ultimate end.
Aquinas argues that every human action is directed at some end. Moreover, if there were no last end,
nothing would be desired. Thus, there must be an ultimate end (CITATION). This final end,
according to Aquinas, is to understand the essence of the First Cause. To show this, Aquinas relies
on two observations: (i) Man is not perfectly happy when there remains something for him to seek
and (ii) the perfection of something is determined by its object. By combining the latter observation
with the notion that the object of intellect is essences, Aquinas concludes that humans attain
perfection by knowing essences.
Aquinas then argues that by understanding the essences of God s creations, humans are able to
derive that He is, but are not able to understand His essence. Thus, Man s knowledge is lacking and
humans are left with a natural desire to seek the First Cause. According to Aquinas first observation,
Man is unable to be perfectly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, Aquinas may reject the notion that humans in Heaven are not humans. Aquinas believes that
upon entering Heaven, humans experience a resurrection of the soul and body (CITATION). Thus,
although the human body is not subsistent, the soul and a re formed body go to Heaven
(CITATION). Aquinas may argue that these two combined constitute a human. For such a claim to
be correct, earthly and heavenly humans would need to have the same essence, meaning both are
composed of the same indeterminate matter. If the indeterminate matter is the same, then the
resurrected body cannot be substantially re formed. Thus, a human with a re formed body cannot be

Character Analysis Of Shylock In The Merchant Of Venice
In The Merchant of Venice, Shylock is one of Shakespeare s most complicated characters.
Throughout the play he seemingly hates everyone save Tubal, a Jewish friend. He even refuses to
acknowledge his daughter because she runs away to marry Lorenzo. Nevertheless, Shylock is a
fascinating character because initially it is difficult to know whether to embrace him or reject him.
To support Shylockis to condone murder, but to reject Shylock is to ignore the plight of someone
who seems to be hated possibly because of his religion and race. However, as Shylock s character is
gradually revealed through his famous defensive speech, Shakespeare leads us to dislike Shylock
and recognize his character as one of pitiful selfishness.
Act III begins with Salanio and Salarino discussing the unfortunate wrecks of Antonio s ships, a
tragedy that sets the stage for the eventual courtroom encounter between Shylock and Antonio.
Shylock s speech is bookended by an argument that he has with Salanio and Salarino. Shylock
accuses them of knowing that Jessica, Shylock s daughter, has run away. They parry that they did
in fact know, but they are not apologetic for it. Salarino then changes the subject and asks Shylock
whether he has any knowledge of Antonio s losses. Salarino asks Shylock what benefit there would
be in taking a man s flesh, a question which prompts Shylock to begin his discourse.
Shylock begins his speech with a litany of wrongs he has suffered at the hand of Antonio. Shylock
Analysis Of The Book Divergent By Veronica Roth
The novel Divergent , written by Veronica Roth is a science fiction book released in 2011. This
novel is about the character Tris Prior, who examines her own identity as she tries to fit herself in
her society made up of five factions. The aim of this diversion is to erase the threat of anyone who
could potentially harm or threat the population. This novelalso has a romantic touch, between Tris
and her dauntless faction instructor, Four. This text illustrates the dangers of societies division, and
how your choices define your identity.
From reading this novel Divergent , an idea I found particularly interesting was the factions. The
societal structure is split into five different factions, which included Dauntless, Abnegation, Amity,
Candor and Erudite. The society members get to choose which faction they want to belong in, but
between each faction, there is conflict, until someday when war breaks out. I found this idea
Veronica Roth portrays is very unusual because she has made society divided depending on the
way you act and think. And tomorrow at the Choosing Ceremony; I will decide on a faction; I will
decide the rest of my life; I will decide to stay with my family or abandon them . I felt for Tris
during this Choosing Ceremony. The aptitude test was supposed to tell her which faction she
belonged in, however since her results from this test were inconclusive, meaning she is divergent,
she had to decide between the three factions her results told her she was a
Essay on The Everglades for Dummies
The best way to get people interested in a novel is to title it Skinny Dip . Even better, one of the
most effective ways to get people involved in Florida s Everglades is by subtly making it the
setting for a novel full of murder, sex, mayhem, and lots of comedy. Carl Hiaasen s Skinny Dip is an
attractive read from the start. The title and the cover immediately call on the baser of human instinct.
They are catchy and promise readers entertainment. It is a perfect marketing scheme. Even if a
person were to see the novel but neglect to purchase it, there is a big chance that that person will

The Everglades in Hiaasen s novel is the core of the story. Many critics may argue that the novel
oversimplifies the Everglades situation, and it does. But what person, save an environmentalist, is
going to pick up a novel titled Everglades: a Complete History ? Not too many people want to pick
up the complete Microsoft handbook and read it in its entirety. Instead, they pick up the Microsoft
for Dummies guide and learn the basics. That is essentially what Skinny Dip is all about, the basics
of the Everglades . It exists, it is endangered, and it needs to be saved.
Hiaasen exposes the truth about the Everglades by interweaving it into the story s plot. Earl, the
big fat and hairy bodyguard, becomes the tool essential to understanding the Everglades .
Because of Tool s overwhelming pain caused by a bullet wound, he becomes addicted to fentanyl.
In his quest for the patches of fentanyl, he visits hospices, where the people are too sickly to make
a fuss . He steals from them, with no care whatsoever for their wellbeing, and regardless, always
goes back for more patches. In the same respect, Florida s Everglades are like the hospice patients,
continually attacked, vandalized, and then ignored. Ultimately, the environment has no voice and
gives in without a fuss. If the environment were to have a voice and refuse to part easily with [its]

Water Purification Using Natural Herbs Essay
WATER PURIFICATION USING NATURAL HERBS Mr. Patil G.K. and Dr. Sadgir P.A.
Department of Civil Engineering,
Govt. College of Engineering, Aurangabad (M.S.) India gkp13@rediffmail.com ABSTRACT
In this paper, use of Moringa oleifera seeds for purifying water is discussed. A study was carried out
to know the efficiency of Moringa oleifera seed suspension for removal of turbidity and hardness of
water. Turbid water sample of low turbidity (50 mg/L) was prepared in the laboratory using
bentonite clay, kaolin clay and black cotton soil. Moringa oleifera seed suspension was added as
coagulant in concentration of 20, 40, 60, and 80 mg/L. The hardness removal efficiency was
checked on water sample from tube well in the vicinity of Aurangabad city (India). The initial
hardness of water sample was 284 mg/L. The dosages of Moringa Oleifera seed suspension were
125, 250, 375 and 500 mg/L. In addition to hardness, effect on pH, electrical conductivity, total
dissolved solids and salinity was also studied. Moringa Oleifera seed suspension was found to be
effective in treating the water.
Keywords: Moringa oleifera Seed, Turbidity, Hardness and Extraction INTRODUCTION
Aluminum and ferric salts are the mainly used coagulants all over the world for treatment of water.
However, their application may have considerable disadvantages, the most important being possible
negative effect on consumers health. Several studies reported that chemical coagulants remain in tap

How Did Grenville Establish The First Roanoke Colony
The first English colony in the New World was nothing short of a disastrous failure. On April
ninth, 1585 Governor Ralph Lane, Sir Richard Grenville, and six hundred other men departed from
Plymouth. The settlers arrived at Roanoke on June twenty sixth, 1585. On page twenty of North
Carolina: Change and Tradition in a Southern State the text states, From the outset, however, the
colony was ill fated (Link, 20). The colonists soon concluded that Roanoke was not an appropriate
location for their colony so Sir Richard Grenville decided to leave Ralph Lane and one hundred and
seven other men to establish the colony at the north end of Roanoke Island. Sir Richard Grenville
traveled back to England and promised to return sometime in spring 1586
Survival In Auschwitz Essay
Imagine now a man who is deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of his house, his
habits, his clothes, in short, of everything he possesses: he will be a hollow man, reduced to
suffering and needs, forgetful of dignity and restraint, for he who loses all often easily loses
himself. This short quote is taken from Primo Levi s Survival in Auschwitz . It depicts a true storyof
Primo Levi during the Holocaust, who was relocated to an extermination camp after beginning a
great life after college. Primo was captured with a resistant group from Italy. He used his college
educationand degree in chemistry to stay alive.
The above quote brings a similar quote to mind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the liberation of Auschwitz, Primo again had nothing. Necessities and goods were furnished
throughout his life and now Primo had to start all over. He had nothing except for life, something
most people who walked through the front gates of Auschwitz lost.
Jesus Christ lived a similar life many, many years before. He lived his young adulthood life
teaching the people of the world about God and humanity. He cherished his life and the life of
others. He respected all living things and tried to help them live a non sinful life. He too was
deprived of things near the end of his life. Like Primo, Jesus was convicted of what he thought and
spoke of and was killed. The main difference between the two men is that Jesus lost his life. Jesus
though had a second chance as he was later resurrected from hell and brought into heaven. There he
again helped the people of the world.
Furthermore, both of these men were convicted of religious believes and ripped away of their
lives. Even though Primo died many years after his stay at Auschwitz, he was never the same
before that. He will be a man whose life and death can be lightly decided with no sense of human
affinity, in the most fortunate of cases, on the basis of a pure judgment of utility. It is in the way
that one can understand the double sense of the term, extermination camp, and it is now clear what

Amanda Dene s Theory Of Interpersonal Communication
Amanda Denes is an interpersonal researcher who focuses mainly on sex communication. Denes
was born and grew up in Glenridge, New Jersey and has been interested in communication since
she was younger. In high school, she knew she wanted to be a journalist, and even joined the school
newspaper. When she graduated high school she went to She went to Boston University and then
joined the MAPHD program at UCSB. For the first two years of college she focused on the media
end of things, but by her junior year, her internships in journalism and media didn t excite her
anymore. So, she took an interpersonal communicationclass with Pamela Notti, who was also her
undergrad advisor and fell in love with the class. She discovered that she too wanted to be a
professor in interpersonal communications. So, professor Notti mentored her throughout her degree
and helped her become a professor in interpersonal communication. As a result, she focuses on
topics based on her research in episode five s interview called the Pickup artistand Pillow Talk.
Denes became interested in how pickup artists communicate with women in graduate school when
she started researching the hormone oxytocin. To study how pickup artists seduce so many women
she searched for answers online. While searching she the web she found a discussion board that
pickup artists were using to discuss how they made women s oxytocin levels rise. Making not only
women trust the pickup artists, but also be seduced into bed by
