Women Are The Ones Who Handle Household Chores
Always women are the ones who handle the household chores
Household chores like doing the laundry, cleaning the utensils, taking care of children and making
food is always done by women. If both, husband and wife are working, it is always the woman
doing the domestic work. But this is not always true. This is in fact a gender stereotype which has
existed since many years. Maybe not all men or fathers do household chores, but many do.
According to Catherine Rampell, a writer for The New York Times newspaper, on an average day,
66.6% men and 85% women report doing some sort of household activity.
Almost everybody believe in this stereotype. Even if a man is sharing household work with his
spouse or any other female in the house, his image is presented as if he does nothing. Even if he
is contributing little, he is at least doing something, and something is definitely better than
nothing. No man s conscious would allow him to see his wife or any female in the house do all
the work in the house alone. Even if a man is going out for groceries, it is not considered a
household work by the female, just because he did not contribute to do the work in the house.
Women tend to see the results instead of the work done to get those particular results. If men are
doing the dishes, it is considered nothing because they are just rinsing them and putting them in the
dish washer, which is an easy job. But it takes time to do it. Men are using up their time, in which
they relax, to do the
Pit Bull Agression Research
Abstract: Aggression is a common concern amongst pet owners, who commonly associate breeds
such as pitbulls with hostile behavior. Our research group tested and determined the phenotype and
genotype of an unknown breed of dog (Sunny) in order to determine the likelihood of aggressive
behavior. Our data demonstrated that although the subject is of a known aggressive breed, its
environmental factors and history determine that Sunny is not inherently aggressive.
Introduction: A pet owner, inquiring the breed of his companion canine, Sunny, presented my
research group with a testable question: What genotypic data would help determine the potential
aggression of Sunny? Provided the ability to determine her phenotype, we were to measure and

Dog owners oftentimes recognize the common outward characteristics of pitbulls in their animals,
which frequently causes a concern for their pet s aggression, especially with how publicized
pitbulls are for this trait in the media (Olson et al.). Solely using the breed of an animal to determine
aggression unjustly ignores other determining factors of hostility, including owner quality and
surrounding animal behavior. Regardless, these dog owners should still analyze the breed of the
animal to help determine the possibility of aggression. Our research group hypothesized Sunny was
a Pitbull and Australian cattle dog due to her environmental and phenotypic data, but none of her
heritage consisted of these two breeds. Sunny exhibits the visual characteristics of a pitbull; While
this is absent from her ancestry tree, her lineage reveals breeds with known aggressive behavior
including the American Staffordshire. However, aggression is not based solely on breed, and
because Sunny s genotype and phenotype does not indicate extreme aggressive potential, her owner
should be able to cautiously use Sunny for visual aide during educational
The Hound Of Baskerville Movie And Book Comparison Essay
The Hound Of Baskerville movie and book, written by two different authors but still have the same
suspense filled storyline. The book was written by Arthur Conan Doyle the movie directed by
Jeremy Brett. Both help visualizes and shows the outlook of the second in line to the best detective
in the world, Sherlock Holmesand his patient sidekick Dr. Watson, Solve a one of a kind mystery.
They both shared many similarities and differences in the five major elements of fiction.
The Characters are said to be one of the major differences. A myth is creeping among the moors of
England that a mad hound is on the loose and looking for the Baskerville bloodline. When a
certain someone seeks out to Sherlock Holmes for the use of his famously known abilities to
solve mysteries. Leading to the first biggest change in characters is Sherlock Holmes was his use
of Black Tar also know as the use of Heroin. A scene is portrayed of him shooting up Heroin and
foreshadows him going crazy later over it because you can tell that he really needs it. But in the
book, the closest thing Holmes gets to doing drugs is the use of tobacco, as he occasionally takes
smoke breaks when a clue is unsolvable or he has an enormous amount of stress on his shoulders.

Black Death In The 19th Century
In 1347, Europe was hit by the most deadly disease ever existed. Over the course of 2 years, 50
million people died in Europe alone, reducing the population by 66%. Over 80% of the total
population in Mediterranean Europe succumbed to The Pestilence . Over 100,000,000 people
died worldwide, reducing the global population by 25%. If 25% of today s global population died,
that would be 1781250000 dead, or one billion, seven hundred and eighty one million, two hundred
and five thousand people. That s over 33 times more than the population of England today! And the
death didn t stop there. People blamed Gods Wrath on the non Christians, which at the time in
Europe were mostly Jews. 2000 Jews were slaughtered and burned during February 1349 in
Strasbourg along the French German border; this however did not stop the... Show more content on

In about 6 months, the Black Death had taken millions of lives. The Black Death swept through
Europe like a tidal wave, bought from city to city by ill traders, or rats. The disease quickly spread
to Avinyo, where pope Clement VI held court, rather than In Rome. When news of the plague had
come, the pope ordered his servants to surround his throne with candles thus letting nothing in.
After the plague ended, his servants found hundreds of dead fleas near the candles. However, the
Black Death caused many people to challenge the church, the main one being the flagilence. They
would go from town to town whipping themselves and singing a Christian hymn. They wore a
white mask with a red cross on the front and back and held a whip with 3 thongs, each one
knotted at the end with something sharp stuck in it, like a needle or razor. This would draw large
crowds, as what they saw was Jesus suffering and bleeding for their sake. People crowded them
hoping they would be
Simone Weil s The Iliad Or The Poem Of Force
The concept of force is discussed extensively in philosopher Simone Weil s piece The Iliad or the
Poem of Force. In the piece, Weil s defines force as that x that turns anybody who is subjected to it
into a thing. Exercised to the limit, it turns man into a thing in the most literal sense: it makes a
corpse out of him (6). Weil s wrote this essay in response to the epic poem the Iliadby Homer, which
she believes perpetuates the notion of force. Weil s contends in her respective piece that force is at
the center of human history, which can arguably be illustrated by acts such as colonization. Through
analyzing the Iliad, one is able to examine how the piece creates one of the most purest and loveliest
of mirrors in relation to force, which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fanon also discusses the psychological effects that force can have on one in this process of
colonization. Fanon finds that the labeling of people as the colonizer and the colonized can result
in the dehumanization of the latter, as they are being relegated as the other (3). This notion
relates to Weil s definition of force as man is being turned into a thing, stripped of his identity
(Weil, 6). Furthermore, it is stated in the piece that the very same people who had [force]
constantly drummed into them that the only language they understood was that of force, now
decide to express themselves with force (42). This excerpt assists in illustrating how the concept
of force acts within a cycle of sorts, as one needs to use force in order to escape force. This notion
relates back to the film The Battle of Algiers as the Algerian people, more specifically those of the
National Liberation Front (FLN), had to use force in order to prevent colonization and further force
from the French government. Fanon directly touches on the Battle of Algiers in his piece, stating
that mental illness and the rampant development of specific pathological conditions were an
outcome for many Algerians due to the war (216). These pathological conditions caused by
colonization also relate to Weil s definition of force as both Weil and Fanon are contending
The Pros And Cons Of Single Sex Education
Schooling is a major factor that helps with the development of a child. Schooling sets up the
foundation for the child to ensure that they get a quality education to leading them in a positive
direction for their future. Single sex education gives opportunities for specific genders in the
classroom. Single sex educationallows students to grasp concepts and to work on a deeper level
within their respective gender. Single sex education enhances children to build self confidence within
their genders fostering a positive learning environment. Another advantage is that the student has
additional opportunities to pursue roles that that they possibly wouldn t be inclined to participate in
if they were in a coeducation school. The opportunities and obstacles with the single sex education
help develop a well rounded student. The expected standards within the single sex education can
result in the student establishing higher goals while allowing the students to be themselves without
the distraction of the other gender.
Single sex education allows students to grasp the true meaning of leadership. Students at single
sex schools are given opportunities to allow them to explore themselves without the opposite
gender influence and peer involvement.. Single sex education allows students to relate to the
same gender without the distraction of the opposite gender. A study done by National Coalition
of Girls Schools found that 93% of girls school grads say they were offered greater leadership
opportunities than peers at coed schools and 80% have held leadership positions since graduating
from high school (Murphy). An all girls school allows young women to be given a chance to lead
and develop an understanding of the value of leadership. These skills can be cultivated as they
mature leading them be successful as they pursue higher education. The skills they develop can
make it easier to transition into leadership roles coupled and with strong communication skills that
will set them up for success with college and their desired career path. Army and Navy Academy, an
all boys school states that single gender education has a long history because it allows boys to push
their academic potential, pursue

Homicide Analysis
Another example is that of Homicide, which is generally accepted as long as it is executed from
outside your own clan, exerting no moral obligation. For this reason, murder, stealing and the
seduction of women is an acceptable course of action, as long as it is held appropriate within the
tribal organization. Thus, as a human being, they have a variable value and in this case, they fail
to separate the individual from the social context. The consequences of adultery and stealing are
prone to the specifics of those involved, e.g. adultery is only deemed wrong if it is within a clan
and subclan. But again this is not an intrinsic wrong doing, as even if it goes unnoticed, no moral
blame or feeling of guilt is set upon those involved. This exposes... Show more content on

What was considered to be moral is dependent upon the group and the social context accordingly.
In opposition to this is the Christian evaluation of the objective good of man, and the ultimate
difference, is that this is set above the social medium, in which case moral responsibilities
transcend all aspects of the social context and social ties. Individuality is the acknowledgment of
the self as a spiritual entity, which also envelops our personal integrity and respect for all life.
Due to Gods likeness, we are given an absolute worth, encompassing the duty we must hold to
ourselves and others because of his divine wisdom, and the fulfilment of an absolute teleological
end. Therefore, nothing is morally just because society conveys it to be, instead we find a natural
moral order within the universe, the eternal good of our infinite being. Hence, murder is always
wrong, as it is linked to our intrinsic worth as human beings, which is not subordinate to a social
ranking or context. With reference to Reads conception of the person in light of Christianity, it is
emphasized how the person is made up of matter (the body) and form (immaterial element of the soul
). Man is a spiritual being, with a rational soul, and this was also configured by Mauss, where the
spirituality of the soul allows for the

Determination of Vanillin in Imitation Vanilla Essence
Chloe Nolan 14832679
Introduction
4 hydroxy 3 methoxybenzaldehyde or as it is better known, vanillin is most commonly used to create
imitation vanilla essence (Southam, 2013).
Figure 1: vanillin structure
Vanillin was first synthesised from eugenol from 1874 2001, from where it was later made from
lignin containing sulphite liquor which is a by product of wood pulp processing in paper pulp
manufacturing, most recently it is more common to find vanillin made from guaiacol and glyoxlic
acid (3D chem, 2013). Vanillin is most commonly found in food flavour formulations, perfumes and
fragrances and has been used in drugs used by those who suffer from Parkinson s disease ... Show

Diluted essence (10ml, 100 times diluted) was pipetted into a 100ml separating funnel. 20ml of
dichloromethane was added to the diluted essence. The funnel was then shaken vigorously for 2
minutes with gas being release occasionally. The organic phase (lower layer) was released into a
100ml beaker and another 20 ml of dichloromethane was added to the funnel and shaken vigorously
for another 2 minutes. The organic phase (lower layer) was again released into the 100 ml beaker.
The contents of the funnel were disposed of. The organic phase was then added back into the
separating funnel with 40ml of 0.1M sodium hydroxide solution and shaken well for 2 minutes. The
organic phase was released and disposed of and the aqueous phase was kept and transferred to a
250ml volumetric flask and the volume was made up with 0.1M sodium hydroxide. Standards were
then made using the 50mg/L standard provided and mixing with 0.1M sodium hydroxide to create
standards with 1,2,3,4,5 mg/L concentrations. Each solution was run through the UV Visible

Pretties Scott Westerfeld Analysis
Pretties is the second book in the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld, taking place soon after the
first book. I was fascinated by the idea of a society where everyone got an operation at the age of
16 to make them beautiful and then segregate them into another world . I really enjoyed the book,
and the concept is good but the execution was not as great as it could have been. The Pretty world
and the Ugly world are extremely contrastive and Tally s characterhas changed from Uglies along
with her look. One of the prime features of the novelis that it makes you reflect about identity and
what affects who we are. We get to take a glimpse inside New Pretty Town, and experience all the
futuristic technology they are given access to. On the other
Jackie Robinson Role Model
Jackie Robinson
January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia, this is where it all started at the birth of Jack Roosevelt
Robinson. You may know him back in his prime as Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson, the first
African American to play major league baseball, opened the door for future African American
athletes by overcoming segregation. Jackie had fought diversity his whole life but having to not
fight back was his hardest challenge yet.
There were five children in the Robinson family Edgar, Frank, Mack, Willa Mae, and Jackie. Frank
his youngest brother s greatest fan and Edgar are dead, but Mack and Willa Mae still live in

stream of racial insults. He received ate mail, death threats, and even warnings that his baby boy
would be kidnapped. Through it all, though, Robinson held his tongue in deference to Rickey s
wishes. As the much maligned player stated in his autobiography I Never Had It Made , I never
cared about acceptance as much as I cared about respect. ordeal was rough for Robinson due to
segregation laws. He was forced to ride in the back of buses, and some games in which he was
scheduled to play were canceled due to his presence. Nevertheless he proved his worth that season
by leading the Royals to the championship in the Little World Series. His performance made it
clear that he was ready for the major leagues, but not all of the Dodgers were supportive of moving
Robinson up to the big time. Some players on the team started a petition saying that they wouldn t
play with Robinson, but hardly anyone signed it. When Rickey brought Robinson up to the Dodgers,
he made the player promise to hold in his temper when he seen and heard racial taunts on the
