Education Tax Planning For Children s Education
Education Tax Planning
INTRODUCTION
Suppose your child just started kindergarten and possibly the most important thing that is
overlooked up to this point is college. Did you know that starting early to help fund your children
s education can be beneficial for you and your children? With the college tuition inflation rates
increasing each year, it is very important to start early so you and your child can be prepared. A
national study by Sallie Mae® shows that only 48% of families are saving for college. This is
compared to 51% in 2014, 50% in 2013, and 60% in 2010. It is a substantial decrease from previous
years. It is never too late to start planning for your child s education; however it is very important to
do so. Successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 529 Plan, which is named after a section in the Internal Revenue Code, is a qualified tuition
plan that is operated by a state or educational institution. They offer tax benefits and other
advantages. Nearly every state offers a 529 Plan and can be chosen based on preference of the
features and benefits of each plan. There are two types of 529 Plans: College Savings Plans and
Pre Paid Tuition Plans. Savings Plans work much like a 401(k) where the funds can be saved in
mutual fund accounts. Prepaid plans let you pre pay all or part of the college tuition. Since each
state differs based on investment options households need to consider many factors, including the
age of the beneficiary, their own risk tolerance, and their overall financial situation. Households may
find some options more suited to their savings needs than others. Whatever option is chosen will be
the best option well suited depending on the individual. The following pictures will show two
different savings plans in two different states: These two are the Savings Plans that can be chosen.
The individuals interested in the Bright Directions College Savings Program in Illinois can be
enrolled through a financial advisor where individuals interested in the Texas College Savings Plan
can be enrolled directly into the program. Both plans offer maximum contributions up to at least
$350,000. In Illinois, there are no minimum
Cosplay Imperialism
Cosplay, short for costume play , is a performance art in which people called cosplayers wear
costumes and specific accessories and props to represent or portray a specific fictional character. It is
a unique Japanese form of art which, playing upon the identificatory fantasy, it enables the western
participants to assume identities and to differentiate themselves in ways which western culture
cannot. The average cosplayer is not just putting on a costume; the experience is one of rebirth, an
identity transformation. Daniel s (2010) paper determines whether cosplay is a demonstration of
cultural imperialism of cultural hybridity. Lotecki (2012) and Hale s (2014) paper examines the
creative, emotional, social, and behavioural processes in which cosplayers participate while
interpreting and constructing their characters, including the differentiation between fiction and
reality, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three papers examine cosplay as another identity portrayed in art form in North America. Cosplay
help people with low self esteem by improving communication skills, creativity, and the perception
of body image.
Cosplay can increase confidence through social interaction and communication. Modern trends of
declining community interaction and a fading sense of social belonging have created gaps that
fan cultures are able to fill by providing a space for community and acceptance. Cosplay is a social
activity that takes place in specific environments, such as anime, manga, and sci fi conventions, club
meetings, karaoke events and so on. These events are socially defined sites of activity for
cosplayers, where one can find peers with similar interests, sign up in a variety of performances, and
actively participate within the community. Conventions hold certain events that are made
specifically for cosplayers: the Masquerade and the Hall Contest. Dressing up allows individuals to
Pros And Cons Of Whaling
Do you agree with the Norwegian and Japanese position on permitting the hunting of non
endangered species of whales as a cultural exemption? I do not agree with the Norwegian and
Japanese position on permitting the hunting of non endangered species of whales as a cultural
exemption because I just don t approve of whaling in general. I can however see their point. For
the majority of a population in a village to depend upon whaling as their main income and/or food
source would be really difficult if it was banned. It would be a nice thing if their governments
could help with job rehabilitation. Maybe even offer incentives to change their business venture. I
feel like whaling is an archaic practice these days with so many other options to take place of the
stuff harvested. Do you think the whaling ban constitutes a violation of these nations sovereignty? I
do not think the whaling ban constitues a violation of these nations sovereignty because the ocean
and its bountiful resources do not belong to any one country. It is the planets as a whole. It is the
same principal for the oil spills and other populations and over hunting or needless killings that take
place. You are not only affecting your coastline, but the entire planet in lesser degrees that will build
up over time. Countries such as Norway and Japan are developed enough that they could find
alternatives if they tried.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Should an international panel (such as a committee at the WTO) be asked to weigh the validity of
such claims? Who should serve on such a panel? I do believe these kinds of questions about cultural
exemptions should be settled by an international panel and asked to prove the validity of such
claims. They should brought before a world committee. I do believe they should present their case
before an international court. At best a representative from every country, but at least one from every

Blue Winds Dancing Summary

10 Sept 2014
Defining Culture and Understanding Differences In Thomas B. Whitecloud s Blue Winds
Dancing, he discuses what it is like for him to live in society and abide by its customs and
traditions, all while struggling to hold tight to his own as a Native American. It bothers him to live
in a society dominated by one race and any other culture labeled inferior. He tries hard to assimilate
the white man s culture, but knew in his heart he belonged elsewhere, with others who shared the
same traditions and values as him. This story raises several interesting ideas, such as what defines a
culture? A larger question that this story brings to light is what separates people? What makes them
different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researcher Joseph Kenneth wrote a book arguing that stereotypes are a key factor in the theory of
Constructualism (296). The theory of Constructualism is the process by which people interact,
exchange information, and consequently learn (295). Constructualism argues that individual
learning takes place on two levels. First, social interaction brings forth new knowledge that
represents cultural customs over time. Second, as people share and receive knowledge with others,
a perception of what is expected for them to know becomes apparent. Paired with the assumption of
homophily (Lazarsfeld Merton, 1954; McPherson, Lovin, Cook, 2001), that people tend to interact
with others similar to them, constructuralism explains how social relationships evolve via interaction
(296). Joseph Kenneth wrote that while people may hold perceptions of other smaller groups,
cognitive limitations prevent them from understanding people s specific qualities. Rather, they use
their perceptions by incorporating what they learn about others into generalized beliefs of what
people are likely to know. Perceptions are based on past experiences and similarities, such as race or
gender. These perceptions are the basis for stereotypes. Stereotypes can be useful because they help
people navigate through the world to find others with common interests, but they are not necessarily

Summary Of Open Casket
DANA SCHUTZ BRINGING BACK AN EXCUCIATING MOMENT IN HISTORY Esther
Kimberly Esquivel AHC 3113.003 Contemporary Art December 13th, 2017 There has been
worldwide Controversy over a painting done by Dana Schutz titled, Open Casket. Open Casket is
an abstract painting of a young black 14 year old boy who was murdered and mutilated by two
white men because he was mistakenly accused of sexually harassing a 21 year old white women.
The painting portrays the face of Slain Emmett Till lying dead in his coffin. The controversial
painting was displayed at the Whitney Museum of American Art in NY. The protest began when an
African American Artist, Parker Bright started a harmless protest in front of the Open Casket
painting wearing a Black Death Spectacle shirt. Since then many others have come to protest and
block people from seeing the open casket painting. Protesters argue that a white women does not
have the right to create art around a black matter subject . Dana Schutz has argued that the painting
was meant to show the distress of a mother losing her son. Overall the painting does bring back an
excruciating and defining moment in African American history. The painting Open Casket is very
beautiful with its simple of abstract brushstrokes but because I am not of African descent so I
cannot relate to the many year of being treated poorly, racism and slavery. I overall side that Dana
Schutz painting should not be disapproved of. This is not the only occurrence

Andrew Carnegie Biography Essay
Andrew Carnegie, born November 25, 1835 in Dunfermline, Scotland, was the owner of
Carnegie Steel Corporation; one of the biggest of its kind in the world. Carnegie moved to the
United States at the age of twelve with his parents after his father, a handloom weaver, was
gradually replaced with power looms. Carnegie was from a poor family and could not afford an
education, but he always had access to books and through reading was able to educate himself, at
least a little. Once in America he worked in one of the many factories in Allegheny, Pennsylvania,
making $1.20 a week. After that he managed to find a job as a telegraph messenger. He taught
himself how to send the telegraph messages and eventually became a telegraph operator at the age of
seventeen. Through his life he learned two different things from his parents. His father believed in
helping the less fortunate, from his mother he learned to put himself before anyone else.... Show

He also bought stock in an oil company, and a company that made railroad sleeping cars. In 1865
he left the railroad company to start his business. By 1872 Carnegie was traveling to sell bonds to
European investors, and in this time he realized that steel would increase in demand in the coming
years and decided to enter into the steel industry. With his partners, their steel mill became the
most modern of its time. In 1873 to 1879 though there was a business recession in U.S. By 1880
Carnegie managed to keep his business aloft and it once again thrived as steel came into demand.
His steel company earned millions in revenue. By 1892 he combined three of his companies and
created the Carnegie Steel Company. His salesmanship, talented management team, and willingness
to take risks while everyone else was playing it safe are what allowed him to expand and prosper so
greatly in his business. Add
The Globalization Of Southwest Airlines
Southwest Airlines is globalizing their company in order to reach a bigger market, and become
competition for other companies. Southwest Airlines has already conquered the domestic market
beating American Airlines, United, and Delta according to Fortune. Access to a new market is what
motivated Southwest to globalize, they are expanding to the south of North America, with their new
assets found in their acquired airlineAirTran Airways(LeBeau, 4) . Southwest Airlineshas brought
low rates and a great experience to the domestic market, which was warmly received, they now plan
to dip into global market to bring better service to all.
Southwest Airlines has recently acquired AirTran Airways, which was a global company, this
acquisition it put Southwest in a great spot to expand to the global market. Southwest is
integrating the AirTran Airways international stops in Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas with their
original domestic stops in Atlanta, Baltimore, and Orlando starting July 1st 2014 according to an
article in US Today. Next they are looking to service 6 Latin American destinations including
Belize City, Cancun, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, and San Jose del Cabo/ Los Cabos starting in
October 2015 (Zacks Equity Research, 1 2). These Latin American destinations are strategic
because they are close to Southwest s headquarters in Dallas TX, and they are prime vacation spots
(Jones, 3). This will give more people a cheaper way to vacation, and bring more people into these
Functions Of Currency And Currency
There are multiple functions to U.S currency and currency in general. One of the functions is that it
is a medium of exchange. U.S currency can be used for the buying and selling of goods and
services. This means that a person with money can exchange their money in order to get something
of equal value. What determines the value of goods and services are called market forces. Another
function of moneyis to store value. Money is not the only thing that is used to store value but it is the
most common. People have been using currency much earlier than when the dollarcame around.
People would use different types of metals or other durable, valuable items as a form of currency.
The purpose of having currency is to have something of value... Show more content on

Ever since the 1960 s, United States currency has been backed by the full faith and credit of the
United States government. This means that currently United States currency represents an IOU from
the U.S government. Although this might not sound like much, the United States government is one
of the most stable institutions in the world and an IOU from them is reliable and valuable.
There is controversy over the penny in the United States. Some people believe that the U.S
government should keep the penny in circulation and continue to make them but other people think
that the U.S should just get rid of pennies. There are valid points to both arguments which is why
it is so controversial. The main reason why people believe the penny should be eliminated is
because of the cost of pennies for the United States government. The price of making each penny
costs the government 1.5 cents while the value of a penny is one cent (Sparshott). Although half a
penny might not seem like much, the U.S made 92 billion pennies between the year 2000 and 2014
(Wing).By continuing to make pennies, the U.S government lost over 4.6 billion dollars between
2000 and 2014. Another argument why the penny should be eliminated is because its worth to little
to be useful. Inflation has eaten away the value of a penny over the years and they are practically
worthless because of
Insanity in a Sane World
Insanity in a Sane World Holden Caulfield is an insane person in a sane world. What is insanity?
Insanity is when you re in a state of mind that prevents normal perception, behavior or social
interaction. This state is mental illness. Insanity is when you do things in deranged or outrageous
ways that could frighten people, or make people feel uncomfortable when around you. It s when
you do things out of the ordinary; yet feel as if they are ordinary. Insanity could come about when
you re depressed, or after a traumatic event, and sometimes even by keeping all your feelings
bottled up inside of yourself. Sane people are sensible, reliable, well adjusted and practice sound
judgment. It s behavior that is expected in a society. By these... Show more content on

Antolini was trying to hinder him from going down the wrong path. Holden focuses on the little
details like the gasoline rainbows in the puddles on the street and which suitcase is nicer. He
overlooks the obvious, big picture which could better help him adjust and focuses instead on
little, often insignificant things he can handle. Moreover, Holden only pays attention to the
things he s interested in and doesn t pay attention to the teachers or work given at school. This
lack of interest has caused him to drop out of four schools and, therefore missing out on
knowledge necessary for his well being and self discipline. Holden does not like change. Holden
needs change, he needs to grow up. He needs to change his thoughts and behavior. Holden says
Certain things should stay the way they are, you ought to be able to stick them in one of those
big glass cases and just leave them alone (122). Finally, Holden s overly judgmental and critical.
When he sees someone he automatically judges the person because they aren t in his perfect
fantasy. In the bar he points out the flits (gay people) and, he thinks that his old roommate Dick
Slagle has a inferiority complex just because he didn t put his suitcases on out to show when
Holden did. Holden thinks of Mr. Haas (his phony headmaster) as someone [shakes] hands with
them and [gives] them a phony smile (14). Holden thinks of Ernie the piano player as someone who
has been affected by phoniness in order to attain fame.

Film Analysis Of Don Lockwood s singin In The Rain
If you ve seen one, you ve seen them all, remarks Kathy Selden about movies after first meeting
silent film star Don Lockwood in the beginning of Singin in the Rain (Singin in the Rain 17:38).
While Kathy was slightly off base when saying that all movies are the same, movies belonging to
the same genre often do share certain conventions which author Bernard F. Dick discusses in his
book Anatomy of Film and Tim Dirks confirms in his assessment of the genre for the American
Movie Classics Company. What do one of the best musicals ever made and the newest musical to

In Singin in the Rain, one of the best examples of the plot motivating a song or dance happens a little
over halfway through the movie. Don, Kathy, and Cosmo have just returned from the test
premiere of Don s newest movie and first talkie. The audience hated the movie, and Don now
feels like his career is over. While Kathy and Cosmo try to cheer him up, they come up with the
idea of turning his movie into a musical. As they celebrate this new idea, they realize it is past
midnight which brings about Good Morning. 1:01:00 This number gives the characters a physical
and verbal way of showing their glee concerning the idea of turning the movie into a musical.
When speaking specifically about Singin in the Rain, Dick says, The other musical numbers in
the film also advance the plot and are not merely occasions for an actor to break into a song or
dance (Dick 123). Good Morning, like the other numbers in Singin in the Rain, advances
continues to drive the plot. Likewise, in La La Land as Dom walks Mia to find her car after they
meet at a party, Dom begins singing about what a lovely night it is which evolves into a full on
song and dance. 33:20 The dance comes to a close as the pair comes face to face, and Mia s
cellphone ringing breaks the moment. These numbers, like other numbers in integrated musicals, can
make a normal part of the plot more exciting and memorable to the audience by showing how the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of MDC Over Traditional...
As with the improvement of cameras that produce high quality videos and images, storage needed
to store the videos is became a big issue especially for the film makers that have huge video files
to store. Thus we need a mechanism that make the videos compact so that they efficiently store on
the hard drives and other storage devices. Here comes the compression techniques that makes it
possible to remove the redundancy from bit stream of video files so they take less place to be
stored. Transmission of video files is also a big reason that describes the importance of video
compression in more prominent way. We need to transmit high quality videos over the internet
