Guernica a Paint by Pablo Ruiz Picasso
Picasso: Guernica I paint objects as I think them, not as I see them. These are the words of the
wise Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, a famous and talented artist in the 19th and 20th century. Many have
crowned him the most influential artist of his time. Many of his works including Les
Demoiselles d Avignon, Ma Jolie, and Girl Before a Mirror have set the tone for many artists to
follow after. However, Guernica was one of his most famous of his pieces, painting a nearly perfect
emotional picture of what was happening during these times of despair. Guernica, one of his many
contributions to the art world, will be described first in purely formal terms, and then a comparison
and evaluation of three different critiques will be made. Pablo Ruiz y... Show more content on

The bull s tail forms the image of a flame with smoke rising from it. Behind the bull, a bird with
upstretched head and neck, wide open beak, and outstretched wings stands fluttering on a table. A
white stripe cuts through the gray form of the bird, whose shape and size in the scale of the
picture correspond to those of a goose. On the ground is a head that has no body. The mouth and
eyes are wide open. The mouth seems to scream in agony and the eyes are wide opened in terror.
Directly behind the head is an outstretched arm with fingers look like claws. Another severed arm
in front still clenched a sword and a flower sprout out of the fist. In the center of the picture, a
horse is displayed in a twisting movement. The horse appeared to have been hurt with its mouth
opened wide braying in agony and the tongue protrudes out of its mouth. One of the horse s front
legs is on a kneeling position whereas the other legs struggling to stand up (Fisch, 1983). On the
right hand side of the picture a woman stretches her neck and head in a wide arch. Her bosom
bared and her right arms hangs limply down and her left arm touching her swollen left knee. She
seemed to be dragging her injured left leg as she sadly looked up. In the extreme right, a woman
seemed to be floating in mid air or falling with her arm extended in the air and face turned towards
the sky. She seemed helpless and is crying for help. A very large female being, whose right arm is

Phoenix Water Quality
The city of Phoenix provides drinking water to more than 1.5 million Phoenix residents within
540 square mile service area. 95 % of Phoenix s water are sourced from surface water (lakes and
rivers) and the remaining water comes from groundwater (wells). In May of each year, the city of
Phoenix distribute and post a water quality report that contains important information about the
quality of Phoenix water (Phoenix s water quality, n.d.). Water hardness is one of the important info
revealed in the Phoenix water quality report, which I would like to discuss it. Simply hardness is the
amount of dissolved calciumand magnesium in the water. Hardness impacts the water quality
throughout the aesthetic acceptability (calcium, magnesium, and dissolved solids concentration) by
consumers. Since water known as universal solvent these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, clothes laundered in hard water may look dirty and feel harsh and scratchy. Hard water
causes a film and scale deposit builds upon glass shower doors, shower walls, bathtubs, sinks, and
faucets. Furthermore, scale deposit builds up in a water heater and in the pipe system
(distributing system) resulting in energy consumption increment and water flow reduction as the
pipes become clogged with the scale (Braff, D., 2012, April 25). There is no Primary or
Secondary standard for water hardness issued by EPA. Also, hardness has no health risk, as a
matter of fact, drinking hard water generally adds a small amount toward total calcium and
magnesium human nutritional needs. (Hard Water Hardness Calcium Magnesium Water Corrosion
Mineral Scale, n.d.). As the hardness of water is classified as: (0 to 60) mg/l as calcium carbonate is
classified as a soft water and (60 to 120) mg/l as a moderately hard water and (120 to 180) mg/l as a
hard water and more than 180 mg/L as a very hard water. (Water quality criteria,
The Debate Of The Drinking Age
The drinking age has always been twenty one in the United States, whenever it has been
questioned on why twenty one and not eighteen. The scientific answer has always been because
the eighteen year old brain is not fully developed yet. See what I have a hard time understanding
is why eighteen year olds are considered adults at the age of eighteen, but we can t have a drink.
At eighteen you are allowed to buy cigarettes, join the army, change your name. I just don t
understand why at eighteen you are considered old enough to fight for the country, but you can t
just have a drink. I also do not quite understand why we haven t moved the age of becoming a
legal adult to twenty one. Back in 1984 the government wanted to get a firm grasp on the country
and wanted to knock them into line. So they made a deal with all the states that simply stated.
Either make the minimum drinking age twenty one or lose up to 10% of the federal highway
funding. Now that s some serious cash, so of course all the states went along with it and that is
how the minimum drinking age came into play. The federal government did not just pick the
number twenty one out of a hat. Twenty one came from the early English century. That was the age
you could vote or become a knight back in that day. Since they became an adult then it only makes
sense that they can drink. ( Why Is the Drinking Age 21? ). Which goes back to my first point, why
are eighteen year olds considered adults at eighteen, but cannot drink?
The Business Model Conceived By Ceo Michael O Leary
Introduction
Ryanair has long been the pioneer for low cost commercial air travel. The business model conceived
by CEO Michael O Leary affords the company much in the ways of agility and long term
adaptability. With the economic recovery of the European Union, new threats arise to challenge
Ryanair such as an emerging budget air carrier market, fluctuating fuel prices, and controversial
customer relations. Examined in this paper will be the internal cost accounting factors that affect the
firm as well as an analysis of Ryanair s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Environmental
Threats (SWOT). Through all of this many opportunities arise in the way of route expansion and
capitalizing on existing revenue. To understand the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many air carriers were denied use of the air space in another country simply due to nations holding a
strong opposition to commercial air competition. In 1986, Ryanair obtained permission to service the
airline s second route running from Dublin, Ireland to London Luton and compete directly with
British Airways. This permission was given by each host nation that had begun a progressive
movement towards the liberalization of air travel between European Union (EU) nation states.
From 1987 to 1990 Ryanair opened an additional 17 Routes and begins to emulate jet travel into
the route structure. However, during this period Ryan air continued to emulate the standard
business model due to continued fare regulation as well as a lack of innovation. Deregulation of
air travel with European Union members had not yet taken full effect, and thus led to continued
high operating costs and losses for Ryanair. Ryanair eliminated the frequent flyers program as
well as no longer offering business class which caused a continued increase in passenger traffic but
still had the airline operating at a loss. In 1987, Michael O Leary was hired by Tony Ryan as a tax
and personal finance director. O Leary was soon tasked with aiding in the restructuring of Ryanair in
an effort to return the airline s profitability. O Leary is a believer of a low fare
Napoleon s Abuse Of Power
Napoleon s Abuse of Power What is Power? Power is simply a term for people who have the
ability to control certain aspect of something. It is a dangerous responsibility which can unmask
someone s true personality. Some people are able to handle this responsibility, but others such as
Napoleon cannot. Abraham Lincoln once said that Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you
want to test a man s character, give him power (Lincoln.2001.Web). Napoleon is not any better than
this because when he gets an opportunity to take the throne after he kicks Snowball out, he shows
his true thirst for power. In Animal Farm George Orwell shows how different animals abuse their
power in their own different ways such as Napoleon. Due to the extensive... Show more content on

By killing the animals, Napoleon shows that he is willing to go to any measures possible to make
the animals confess their crimes. For example, when Napoleon calls the same four pigs who
protested when Napoleon abolished the Sunday Meetings (92) to confess their crimes, they tell
him that they had entered into an agreement with (93) Snowball to hand over Animal Farm to Mr.
Frederick. Since Napoleon does not prefer the sound of the pigs when they confess, he orders the
dogs to tear their throats out. This quote suggest that Napoleon does not show any sympathy
towards the pigs to hear the full story of what the pigs needed to say. After the pigs die, Napoleon
starts to demand whether any other animal had anything to confess (93) and when he says these
words, three hens, a goose and three sheep also confess their crime. As a result Napoleon kills all of
them. Napoleon s actions of killing the animals proves that he is not afraid to harm another animal

G E Moore Proof Of The External World
In the Proof of the External World, G.E Moore is trying to prove the existenece of the external
world, showing that it is nearly actually very easy to show that we are living in an actual world
where things are more than just illusion or we are living in a world where the prove of external
world is actually possible. Moore s proof of an external world runs as followed: Premise 1: This is
a hand Premise 2: If this is a hand, then hands exists Conclusion: Therefore, hands exist. By saying
hands exist , Moore is actually suggesting that the hands, as something that is outside of own
minds, exists. They exists not because that we simply believe so, but because that we think that
there are more things out side our minds, which means even that we have no knowledge of them,
they could actually exist. Also, Moore is saying that everything outside of our own minds could
be proved as exist in this way, so it could be put in this way as follows: Premise 1: This is A
Premise 2: If this is A, then A exists Conclusion: A exists. Also, Moore suggests that a deductive
argument such as this one is sound if and only if that, 1. The premises are different than the
conclusion. 2. The conclusion must logically follow the premises. 3. One must know each of the
premises. As a fallibilism argument, it is not necessary for any individuals to know all the facts and
truths in the world, instead, he could actually infer things from one to another by constructing solid
arguments. Even the things
Correctional Officer
A Correctional Officer supervise arrested persons awaiting trial and convicted criminals serving time
in penitentiaries, jails, and reformatories. One primary role of correctional officers is to avert
attacks, escapes, and other disturbances, ensuring inmate accountability and security. Outside of the
jail or penitentiary where they work, correctional officers have no policing duties.
Correctional officers working in for sheriff and police departments in local and county jails and
precinct holding facilities are also known as detention officers. Counties manage about 3,300 jails in
the United States; 75 percent of those are operated under the authority of an elected sheriff. The

Firearms training is necessary for corrections officers even if they do not typically carry them during
their professional duties. Prison guards in close proximity with offenders generally do not carry
firearms, but still must maintain proficiency in case of emergencies or if they are assigned to
perimeter tower duty. This training may include use of pistols, rifles and shotguns. Proficiency in the
use of these firearms must be regularly demonstrated through qualifying tests; in most states, re
qualification must occur annually.
In service Training Almost all departments of corrections limit exposure of new officers to high risk
populations. In order to instruct new hires in common procedures and protocols, they usually work
through a probationary period that may be between several months and two years in length. During
this time, senior correctional officers closely supervise probationary officers, instructing them in the
details of their responsibilities. During this period new officers may work with minimum security
populations to acclimatize to prisoner
What Is The Main Cause Of Sun Exposure To The Sun
Since the beginning to time the sun has been the main source of life for earth. One of the most
important nutrients that the sun provides for humans, as well as other organisms is vitamin D.
Unfortunately, vitamin D deficiency has recently been labeled a widespread, infectious disease. The
main cause of vitaminD deficiency is the belief that any exposure to the sun will be harmful so many
avoid being in the sun. Another cause of vitamin Ddeficiency is the fact that there is a minimal
amount of food that naturally contains enough vitamin D to supply our needs adequately. Vitamin D
deficiency is known to cause rickets, osteopenia, osteoporosis, and bone fractures. It also has been
linked to an increase risk of common cancers, autoimmune diseases, hypertension, and infectious
diseases. People, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and primates depend on sun exposure for their vitamin
D requirements. Also, some of the smallest life forms in the Atlantic Ocean like phytoplankton have
existed for over 750 years make vitamin D when exposed to the sun.... Show more content on

During that same time in the 1930 s, the US government also insisted on the fortification of milk
with 100IU of vitamin D. The fortification of milk eradicated rickets in Europe and the United

vitamin D except certain kinds of fish like herring, cod, and salmon that carry a significant source of

Presentation Of The Presidential Election
Team #2
Collaborative Session#1
Task A:
Tuesday, November 8, 2016 will be the 58 quadrennial US presidential election. Over the last 58
elections, never has there been a more controversial topic to speaks about. From the issues that are
being debated about, to the Presidential candidates themselves. This year s Presidential race has
been closely monitored by people from all different demographics. The issues debated will not only
have an impact on the United States, but they will have an even bigger impact on other countries all
over the world. An estimated 50 million people are projected to vote on November 8, 2016, and
58% of Americans between the ages of 18 24 will be voting in this year s election. These number can
play a huge part in determining who will be the next President of the United States. There are four
primary candidates for the 2016 Presidential election are, but only two of them are gaining so much
attention. Never has there been an electoral race that contains so much dislike for the top nominees.
The race between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump has caused many Americans to question
whether or not they should vote with their party, or to start looking into other candidates who they
might view as a better fit for President. Millennials in particular have been really outspoken about
the subject. According to an article in fortune.com Millennials gave Clinton less than 30% of their
votes in key primaries, and 25% of young Republicans say they will vote
City Life In The Late Nineteenth Century
Living in the city in the late nineteenth century had a good amount of positive and negative aspects.
One of the positives was that there were very many new job opportunities with all the factories and
construction being built. More means of transportation were available in the city, such as trolleys,
railroads, and steam driven cars. There was a common focus of increasing and improving the
museums, art galleries, amusement parks, and skyscrapers. Many people in the citywere ready to
move forward technologically to better progress in America. However, there are arguably more
amount of negative aspects than there are positive. There were little to no rules and regulations, that
in modern times would seem absurd not to have in place. Poor... Show more content on

There also weren t multiple exits in case of emergencies. Before the codes one could build
whatever kind of building they wanted, pass it off as an apartment, and rent it out to people to
make profit with no regulations. Another common thing to see in the cities is waste being
thrown in the streets, because there were no regulations when it came to sanitation. Because of
the little to no sanitation, diseases were very easily able to be spread. A dramatic increase in the
population was prominent, as more and more immigrants came to America, causing many
civilians to become homeless. In many ways the city life in the late nineteenth century has
similarities and differences to modern day city life. One of the similarities is the conflict of a
mass amount of immigrants coming to America, as we can see when we watch the news and
hear modern day politicians debate on the issue. Another similarity is that many of the population
of large cities are ready to keep improving technology to better progress in America. However,
there are now thankfully a lot of differences. Now in modern times there are laws in place to
improve cities. Modern day apartments are now required to have multiple exits, fire escapes, and
are able to be provide heat, water, and electricity by the
Domain Name System Case Study
The United States government announced on March 14, 2014 that they had intentions to bring to an
end their role in the supervision of the Domain name system (Post, Kehl, 2015). Known as the IANA
transition it is of a grave importance in the chronicle of the worldwide grid and the rapport among
government control and network governance. The DNS to the Internetis certainly a notable business
accomplishment, and its efficient performance has been strategic to the stunning development of the
Internet throughout the past twenty years. To ensure that the system operates properly and to
accomplish its objective of widespread name uniformity, the doings of millions of discrete domain
operatives has to be coordinated by some means.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The changeover in 1998 1999, was a victory and those surfing the internet barely took notice when it
occurred (Post, Kehl, 2015).
In 2001, 2003, and 2006 ICANN and NTIA would move into an agreement towards the execution
of the IANA functions. NTIA on July 2, 2012 gave ICANN a genuine reasonable procurement
procedure, the current contract of IANA functions (Ntia.doc.gov, n.d). The indenture extends
from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2015, and has option periods of two years if the two
periods are put into practice the expiration for the agreement will be on September 30, 2019
(Ntia.doc.gov, n.d.). ICANN, as the IANA functions operator executes organizational duties allied
by means of the registries that are linked to the three main IANA functions. It is a crucial
receptacle for protocol number and name registries utilized in scores of Internet procedures.
ICANN upholds several of the numbers and codes within Internet proprieties. It organizes
distributions of Internet procedures and Autonomous System numbers to the Regional Internet
Registries, and in turn, ISP is allocated the numbers along with others within their geographical
districts. Root zone file change requests are processed by ICANN for TLDs and a Root Zone
WHOIS databank is available publicly with recent and corroborated contact data for every TLD
registry operator. ICANN, in all three cases, as the IANA functions operator,
A Character Comparison of Macbeth and Prospero from...
These two Shakespearean characters, Macbeth and Prospero, from Macbeth and The Tempest can
greatly compare to one another. From the very beginning, these two men are hard to understand and
seem like your average warrior and ruler. Both of these characters are dealing with struggle of power;
however, they both deal with this issue in different, interesting ways with different results. At the end
of these two plays, we meet two entirely different characters than the ones that we were introduced to
from the beginning. In Macbethand The Tempest by Shakespeare, Macbeth and Prospero, the two
main characters have a lot in common and can great compare to one another.

When Macbeth plots to kill Duncan, his cowardice and self doubt takes over and he nearly aborts the
plan. Bevington describes Macbeth in an interesting way when he states Macbeth is portrayed
throughout the play as an antihero. However, when Lady Macbeth finds out she insists on doing the
deed herself, as she thinks her husband is too soft to finish Duncan off. After the murder, Macbeth
feels the need to secure his throne, thus plotting several more murders to ensure his power;
however, a sense of guilt consumes him. Prospero, in The Tempest, is much different than
Macbeth. The pursuit of knowledge is what gets him in trouble in the first place. By neglecting
everyday matters when he was ruler, he gave his brother an opportunity to rise up and challenge
him. I, thus neglecting worldly ends, all dedicated to closeness, and the bettering of my mind. (Act
1 Scene 2) To secure his position of power, he uses his magical knowledge and no mercy.
In Macbeth and The Tempest, by Shakespeare, both of these interesting characters experience a
change of heart. As Macbeth s world falls apart in the end, Macbeth feels a sense of relief. Macbeth
was never cut out to take someone s life without feeling guilt and remorse. With the entire English

The Dehumanization Of The Jews
Adolf Hitler had a plan to exterminate all European Jews. There was approximately 9.5 millions
Jews living in Europe in 1933. On January 30, 1933 Hitler started his extermination by rounding
up all European Jews and sending them to concentration camps. Hitler believed the Jews were
responsible for the lost of World War 1. Even though the Jews had nothing to do with the lost of
World War I, Hitler wanted to make them pay. Dehumanization is the process of depriving someone
of human qualities and attributes. The dehumanization process the SS officers enforced on the Jews
left many of them dead or silent if they survived. At the concentration camps, they were to be
stripped of all identification. By the time the concentration camps were liberated in 1945, over 6
million European Jews were killed inhumanely. Elie Wiesel, who was a survivor of the Holocaust,
recalls the horrific experiences he and his fellow Jews had to go through in his book Night. Before
the Jews were killed, the SS officers dehumanized the Jews by making them suffer through violence,
humiliation, and horrible living conditions. Those horrific experiences made Wiesel speak up for the
voiceless, and to make sure the Holocaust was not forgotten.
Hitler did not kill the Jews as soon as they got to the camps. He wanted to break them down and
make them suffer before he killed them. Each Jew had to pass the inspection test performed by
Dr. Josef Mengele, who was known as the Angel of Death. In order for Elie and his father to pass
selection they had to lie to the doctor about their age. Without his father lying, he would have
been sent to the crematoria. Elie states that It was imperative that we stay together. Neither Elie
nor his father knew that they would never see Tzipora or Mrs. Wiesel again. Elie now lived for
his father. During selection, the Jews had to state their name and their profession. Elie lied and said
he was eighteen, in good health, and a farmer. After they had been inspected, they were either
directed to the left or to the right. If they were not strong enough or young enough, they were
immediately sent to the crematoria. The Jews had no idea if they were going to be sent to the
barracks or straight to the crematoria. The
