 SUGGESTION

A. What is suggestion?
Suggestion is about say or write our ideas about what people should do. (Sebelum Belajar lebih

B. What is the purpose of suggestion? Tujuan dari Saran
a. Suggest means to present a suggestion that is to introduce or propose an idea or a plan for
consideration. It can be accepted or refused
b. Suggestions are abstract and can be in form of solution, advice, plan,
and idea.

First, we will talk about common phrases/expressions used for making suggestions and the
responses.
Here are some common phrases used to make suggestions:

1. How about + subject + simple verb form How about we have lunch at the new Japanese
restaurant?
2. How about + gerund How about having lunch at the new Japanese
restaurant?
3. What about + gerund What about playing table tennis after school?
4. Why don’t + subject + simple verb form Why don’t we take a walk to the park?

5. Why not + simple verb form Why not buy yourself a new schoolbag?

6. Let’s + simple verb form Let’s go to the beach this weekend.

7. Shall +subject + simple verb form(with the I and We) Shall we tell her the good news
subjects now?

8. Subject + should + simpl verb form You should give her a present on her birthday.

9. Subject + could + simple verb form We could share a ride to the airport.

10. I suggest/ recommend + that + sentence I suggest that you take driving course. I
recommend that you take driving course.
 As you can see most of the phrases /expressions used for making suggestions are in question form.

Accepting Suggestions: Refusing suggestions :

 Yes, please  No. I’d rather not
 Ok, thanks  Sorry.I don’t feel like it
 That’s a good idea  No. Let’s not …
 That sounds great  I think it’s not a good idea
 Ok. Let’s …  I am not sure
 Perfect. I love it

 OFFER

A. What is offer? Definisi Tawaran

Offer is an expression of the desire by people in front of the other people to do something or not
to do something. (Sebelum Belajar lebih lanjut anak-anak harus terlebih dahulu translate

Offers can be in terms of money, food, friendship, solution, or a bargain. It can be accepted or
refused.

B. What is the purpose of offer? Tujuan dari Tawaran

a. Offer means to present, introduce or propose a help or a assist for consideration. (Tujuan)
b. Offer means to propose a help. It can be accepted or refused.

Making Offers
Next, we’ll talk about the phrases/expressions used for making offers and the responses.

Here are some common phrases used to make offers:

You can use model verbs such as can, would, shall.

Dialogue 1

Sandra : Hi, Julia. Do you have a plan for the weekend?

Julia : No, I have no plan yet. Sandra : Would you like to go to the beach?
Julia : I think it’s not a good idea. Why don’t we take cooking class? It could be fun.
Sandra : Cooking class? That sounds good.

Dialogue 2
Willy : You look confused. What’s the matter?
Harry : I haven’t finished my English project. It’s due tomorrow.
Willy : Would you like me me to help you?
Harry : Yes, please. That would be very helpful. Thank you.

C. Rangkuman
Fungsi sosial dari teks interaksi transaksional terkait saran dan tawaran adalah untuk
menjalin hubungan interpersonal dengan , guru, teman, keluarga, dan orang lain dengan
memberikan saran dan tawaran apabila diperlukan.

Struktur teks interaksi transaksional terkait saran dan tawaran terdiri dari:
- Pembukaan
- Memberikan saran dan tawaran
- Respon (menerima atau menolak)
- Penutup

Unsur Kebahasaan dari teks interaksi transaksional terkait saran dan tawaran terdiri dari:
- Kosa kata terkait saran dan tawaran
- Modal verbs (can, shall, would, will,may)
- Simple verb form (go, play, take,etc)
- Ejaan, dan tanda baca yang tepat
