Almost Famous Outline
Almost Famous: An Outline of Life Almost Famous represents the spirit of the 70s in all its it s
all happening glory. The yearning for true rock n roll and the awkward convergence of the old
and new through music and fashion is clearly highlighted in the film. In trying to emulate the 70s,
the Almost Famous succeeds in making a film that can be considered a coming of age story while
also capturing the essence of the human experience in all stages of life. From William s struggle
to be cool to Russell s quest for something real to Lester s acceptance of his utter uncoolness, the
film outlines what I think are the three broad stages of life: adolescence, midlife crisis and
acceptance. The hectic and confusing world of rock n roll especially... Show more content on

The film shows that there is no substitute for experience. You can t just get the Cliff s Notes on
how to live in this world and you most certainly can t skip parts of life like you can skip grades.
Without going through life and experiencing all it has to offer as it naturally occurs, you don t
grow and mature in a meaningful and long lasting way. Anita may say that it was her records that
set William on the path to change, but in actuality, William would ve had all those confusing
thoughts about being cool and where he fits in the world regardless of the records she left for
him. Change is and growth through experience is inevitable. We see Russell change from a self
loving musician to a person searching for some meaning and authenticity and finally to a matured
adult something he wouldn t have been able to do had he not gone through his mid life crisis . And
as it s last comment on life, Almost Famous shows that with age age comes a certain sense of
confidence in who you are and a comfort in accepting that and your pace in the

The Trouble With Teenage Curfews
Would you let the government tell you how to control your kids? That s why I think parents
should decide whether or not there kids should have curfews. Teens should have curfew of at least
11:00 because when they stay out to late they tend to do wrong things most of the time. Just like in
the article The trouble With Youth Curfews stated first there were incidences of shop lifting then on
July 29 youths got violent in central city beating and hospitalizing 59 people. Also teens should be
at home worrying about school and there future and not on the streets getting into trouble or doing
drugs. Also when you have a job working nights and your kids think they can go out and stay out
because no body is home just pay someone to watch them so they
The Threat Of Boko Haram Essay
Independent from British ruling since 1960, Nigeria today still suffers from ethnical and religious
divisions as well as unequal distribution of power and resources among its regions. A high degree of
violence and insecurity has shaped Nigeria s political framework since colonial times. The region is
characterized by systematic human under development and socio political decay. By draining
resources from development, terrorism creates an additional burden on the society and interferes
with development opportunities. According to Aghedo Osumah (2012) the term national security
has been boarded to encompass both state and human security. While state security is analogous to
the dominant notion of national security, human security, on the other hand, emphasizes the
preservation of the well being of persons, including the protection of their socioeconomic, political
and environmental rights. The notion of security is reorganized as a social construct, imbued with
human faces (p.855). Although Boko Haram is categorized as a terrorist organization, it remains
difficult to define terrorism itself under international law. With the rising of nationalist movements
after the World War II in the old empires of the European powers, modern terrorism has accelerated
and generated publicity for its causes and influenced global policy. While no one has yet agreed
upon a definition of terrorism, many see in terrorism an effective means of transforming local
conflicts into international
Leadership Is Best Learnt From Situations
Leadership is best learnt from situations in which people have failed to lead. There are five main
factors, which are vital for an effective leadership: Confidence, Aspiration, Connection, Integrity and
Resilience. These five factors are necessary when leadership is approached from a common sense
point of view. If leadershipis considered from a scientific point of view, five more factors need to be
considered: High internal locus of control, Emotional maturity and stability or emotional intelligence
, Moderate achievement orientation, High socialized power motivation and a Low need for affiliation.

There are many different types of leaderships.

Transactional leaders lead through social exchange. Social exchange is when there is an exchange
of items from the leader to its followers. For example, monetary rewards for production. The leader
specifies his or her requirements and lays out the rewards and conditions that the followers will
receive if the requirements are fulfilled.
Transformational leadership can be referred to as the next level of leadership. The leaders inspire
their followers to perform extraordinary well and help followers grow into leaders. This is
accomplished by enabling the followers and regulating their goals and objectives to match those of
the organization. Transformational leaders like to challenge their followers and usually receive
better results. Transformational leaders are very often idealized and serve as a motivation to their
followers
Symbolism In The Outsiders
Most people strive to belong, to be someone or part of something important. People all around you
experience different ways of belonging, such as cliques or social class. Others who are excluded,
are simply left as outsiders, forced to make up their own groups, maybe just because of where
they live, how much money they have, and the items they have and do not have. This is the case
in author S.E. Hinton s prominent novel The Outsiders. Within this well known book is a 2 week
story of 14 year old Ponyboy, as he learns to mature in his rough, poor, East side neighborhood
while also dealing with most of the rich, stuck up, West side kids known as the Socs. To rival the
Socs are the Greasers, a tight knit gang that includes many East side teens that have become almost
like brothers to each other. Throughout this novel, Ponyboy learns many life lessons, while facing
multiple obstacles and overcoming his own inner problems to finally realize a bigger picture in the
end. S.E. Hinton focused deeply on symbolism to display these multiple themes.

In the beginning, the author uses the blue mustang to convey the power and fear that the Socs cause
/have. As a result of the power the Socs have, others show fear or become anxious whenever they
see Socs near. Johnny, another Greaser, is a prime example of what fear they strike in some others.
This is particularly used on page 41 when Ponyboy says We all looked and saw a blue Mustang
coming down the street. Johnny made a small noise in his
The And Latino Stereotypes On The Campaign Trail
I love whenever President Trump says something about Mexicans in any of his speeches. Taken
from Fear and Latino Stereotypes on the Campaign Trail on Media Education Foundation, one
such amazing quote is from Trump s presidential announcement speech, in which he states that
Mexico is sending people that have lots of problems, and they re bringing those problems [to] us.
They re bringing drugs, They re bringing crime. They re rapists. I feel like I fall short of these views
Trump has on Mexicans, but also as a Mexican Americanin general. Apparently, the correct way to
view any Mexican man is to go by the fact that we are criminals. However, I am not just a Mexican,
I was also born in America. As a Mexican American, there is more that... Show more content on

In the New York Times article Media Feed Bias Against Latinos, Luisita Lopez Torregrosa states in
her findings that many non Hispanics mistakenly believe that half or more of the nation s 50 million
Hispanics are illegal immigrants, and that they are depicted in the media largely as maids, gardeners,
dropouts, and criminals. In response to the general public thinking that there are over 50 million
illegal immigrants, Torregrosa explains that the United States actually has an estimated 10 million
illegal Mexican/Central American immigrants from a 2012 study. The depiction in the media is
definitely real concerning how Mexican s are depicted in films, as the roles that the, now
deceased, actress Lupe Ontiveros played in several movies, confirms. An article from The New
York Times, titled Trying to Get Beyond the Role of the Maid; Hispanic Actors Are Seen as
Underrepresented, With the Exception of One Part by housing reporter Mireya Navarro, details
the roles Ontiveros had to play in the American media, which included over 150 maid roles.
Ontiveros even noticed how much of a problem this is, stating that It s their continued perspective
of who we are ... [The media doesn t] know we re very much a part of this country, and that we
make up every part of this country. While this isn t a particular negative light in criminal terms, it is
still a misrepresentation of what Mexicans do for the nation. Ontiveros also mentioned that
whenever she went to a
Plaque Psoriasis Research Paper
BACKGROUND:

Psoriasis is a multi systemic, chronic, inflammatory disease, with the most common manifestations
being in the skin and joints.4, 5 It is estimated that 1 3% of the population has psoriasis, though it
may be less prevalent in Africa and Asia than other parts of the world.5 Psoriasis is further divided

It is considered moderate to severe if it involves 5% of body area or involves crucial body
regions, which include hands, feet, face, and genitals.4, 8 Family history is prevalent in 1/3 of

smoking, stress, cold weather, alcohol abuse, and drugs such as beta blockers, lithium, NSAIDs,

increase the risk of non melanoma skin cancer, lymphoma, and cardiovascular disease.6 Psoriasis
