Physical Characteristics Of Cockroaches
Cockroaches are the oldest and most primitive winged insects. Most species are found in tropic
area, fewer species are found in temperate area. Majority of the species are no economic
importance, inhabiting the floor of tropical, caves, rain forests, deserts, etc (Lee Ng 2009).
2.1.2 Physical characteristics
Most cockroaches are light brown to black color to suit their cryptic, habitat and nocturnal behavior.
Cockroach body is typically oval and flattened dorsal ventrally. This type of shape allows it to
squeeze through as well as escape into narrow hole or cracks and spaces in litter, walls and rocks.
Body parts of cockroaches can be divided into three parts which are the head, thorax and abdomen.
Head of cockroaches bearing a pair of antennae, two compound eyes and a biting or chewing
mouthparts. At the thorax, three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings are attached. But, not all the
cockroaches has wing. For example, Madagascar cockroach. In certain cockroaches, adult ... Show

They have 3 stages in their life cycle: the egg, nymph and adult. New emerged adults usually mate
within 2 to 3 days. Sperm fluid of the male cockroach is able to fertilise all the eggs of female
cockroach. The eggs are normally produced after few days of mating. Eggs are laid by the female in
groups and are protected by a capsule like shell named ootheca. Number of eggs in the ootheca
varying with species, ranging from 12 to 48 eggs (Lee Ng 2009).
2.1.4 Types of cockroaches
There are more than 4000 species of cockroaches, only 4% are considered as pests (Cochran
2009). The most common type of cockroaches found in residential area are the American cockroach
(Periplaneta americana) (Figure 1 2), German cockroach (Blattela germanica) (Figure 3) and Brown
banded cockroach (Supella longipalpa) (Figure 4). Figure 1 Photo view of male American
Comparing American Slavery and the Holocaust
The purpose of this essay is to compare and contrast the American Slavery and the Holocaust, in
terms of which one was more malevolent than the other. Research indicates that the competition
between African American and Jews has served to trivialize the malevolence which both has suffered
(Newton, 1999). According to L. Thomas A separate issue that contributes to the tension between
blacks and Jewsrefer to to the role that Jews played in the American Slave trade.

History
Around 1600 (C.E), the United States began importing blacks from the continent of Africa for slave
labor; and the Constitution later adopted by the colonies declared blacks 3/5 of a person (Martin,
1993). Laurence Thomas states that the Adolph Hitler s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, they were executed at given moment. Mintz claims that they were at least valuable,
and people paid a high price to purchase, house, and feed them (Mintz McNeil, 2013) It seems this is
where the African American and Jewish people contrast.
The Holocaust
Ian Kershaw empathetically states that The Holocaust was the systematic, extermination of six
million Jews by the Nazi government and their allies during World War II. He further add that it
wasn t until after Adolph Hitler became Chancellor of the German government, he began targeting
the Jews as racially inferior to the German people (Kershaw, 1985).
Accordingly, Hitler began eradicating all nationalities that he considered second rate to Germans.
Many believe that the depopulation technique was the German viewpoint of the Nazi government,
which wanted to create a master race of Aryan people. After January 1933, the Jews were placed in
concentration camps which started the Holocaust (Katz, 1994).
People were basically removed from their homes, barred from daily activities, and forced to live in
uncleanliness in ghettos throughout Germany and the countries that the Nazis took over (Cureton,
2013). Further research by Cureton is that the rest were forced into labor, while many were
confined to prison for their beliefs, race, religion, or for political purposes.
Incidentally, the Nazis developed new ways to eliminate people, including
Tension in the Movie, Phone Booth Essay
The film Phone Booth is a morality thriller directed by Joel Schumacher who is also a
screenwriter and film producer. The film was scheduled to be released on the 15th November
2002 however, due to the Beltway sniper attacks it was delayed to the 4th April 2003. The key
actors of the film are Collin Farrell, who plays Stu Shepard, Kiefer Sutherland, who plays the
caller, Forest Whitaker, who plays Captain Ed Ramey, Radha Mitchell, who plays Kelly Shepard
and Katie Holmes, who plays Pamela McFadden. The film was written by Larry Cohen. Phone Booth
is in real time which is very unusual. The whole film is based around a phone booth in which Stu
Shepard (Colin Farrell) is trapped in by a sniper. This makes it very hard for the film to build... Show

Therefore, New York is represented as a very crowded city with a lot of things happening. Moreover,
it seems an extremely loud city with people rushing everywhere and minding their own business.

The main character Stu Shepard (Colin Farrell) is represented as a very arrogant and popular man.
He comes across as very cocky and a con man. Furthermore, when we first see him the camera is
looking up on him. This makes him seem very important and big.
The scenes The Caller and Exposed start to build tension to the film by using some very clever
effects and media techniques. Firstly, the soundtrack helps build a sense of fear by playing eyrie
music, this creates tension, plus the music is playing irregularly so tension is building all the time.
Moreover, the irregular music creates tension in certain places of the film to emphasise the fear at
that particular moment. This means tension is constantly building. Furthermore, the normal sounds
that you would hear in a city are muffled and there aren t many of them so you can stay focused on
the phone booth. Moreover, The Caller s voice is much louder than usual, this makes it look as
though he knows he has the power over Stu and that he has him wrapped round his finger.

Secondly, the variety of camera angles makes it feel like he s being. They also change very
suddenly which creates tension because you don t know where he is being watched from because

American Diabetes Association Strengths And Weaknesses
We live in an era of rapid technological change, and this environment, undoubtfully changes the
human health. Diabetes is one of the most widespread diseases, unfortunately. Therefore, there is a
pressing need to inform people about healthy ways of living and a caring approach to their health.
The American Diabetes Association(ADA) is one of the organizations that try, to prevent diabetes
and raise awareness on the disease in the US and around the world. Unfortunately, it has a set of
weaknesses, which influence not only the work of the organization, but the general public s opinion
of it as well.

One weakness is their reliance on sponsorships. Firstly, the ADA is a public non profitable
organization, which depends on sponsorships (Fraser, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understanding that diabetes has reached epidemic proportions globally, the ADA has set up a
yearly wake up call event that hopes to reach as many individuals in the workplace, homes,
clinics, and everywhere in America and have them take the Association s 60 second survey called
the Type 2 Diabetes Risk Test ( American Diabetes Association Alert Day, 2017). This event is
held every year on the last Tuesday of March, and is called the American Diabetes Association
Alert Day and all companies and organizations that want to make a difference in this diabetes
epidemic can definitely make a difference by sharing via social media, email, digital banners,
posters, risk test handouts, and educational resources provided on the ADA s website. This event
focuses on awareness, as prediabetes is a condition that can be reversed with weight loss, active
lifestyle, healthy food choices, healthier lifestyle modifications and lastly medications regimen (

with associations like the ADA to assist communities with education, screenings measures, and

Pablo Picasso Guernica
Importance of the work
From a patron s point of view, Guernica is a powerful tool that shows the absolute power of art in
society. It displays a sign of relevance in the use of art to communicate serious matters and helpful
ideas. Most people may view artwork as things for entertainment; some have been quoted to say
artists are crazy, somewhat lazy. It should be appreciated and understood clearly that the artists are
people of sound mind who sees things in the environment and chose to articulate critical human
issues using their creativity.
Picasso; the artist, seemed to be bound by many challenges in his life, just like any other person. He
was tortured by the brutal civil wars that were in his motherland (Spain). The political wrangles went
overboard and transformed into brutal killings. The forces from the Republicans that were loyal to
the ruling new government went embattled by the fascist coup that was organized by General
Franco. Contrary to his promises of stability and prosperity in Spain, Franco delivered abundant
destructions and deaths.
Guernica is thus important work at the time when it was created. Should we say it is up to date? Of
course yes. The prevailing at that time required a candid and brave way to say enough is enough to
the atrocities that were engulfing Spain. Picasso chose the initiative although after being disturbed
for almost three months by

IDENTIFYING VENTURE OPPORTUNITIES

I never perfected an invention that I did not think about in terms of the service it might give others...
I find out what the world needs, then I proceed to invent.
Thomas Edison

INTRODUCTION
One of the biggest questions on every hopeful entrepreneur s mind is, ―how do I come up with a
compelling idea for a new venture?ǁ While there is no right or wrong answer to this question, there
are several things to be aware of and thinking about as one heads down the entrepreneurial path.
Even if a great idea has already come to mind, it is essential to cover the basics the market, product
/service offering, competitive, economic, and team dynamics to determine if the ... Show more

Howard Schultz s inspiration for Starbucks came to him when he was on vacation in Italy and
admired the ―café cultureǁ there that had not yet taken root in the US.
Another valuable exercise is to reflect on experiences (particularly frustrating ones) as a retail or
industrial consumer. Entrepreneurial ideas can be the result of simply being an irritated consumer
looking for a better solution, where ―in solving their own needs, they often find they satisfy the
latent demands of a broader group of users.ǁ3 Recall the origins of Nike Phil Knight and his track
coach Bill Bowerman were dissatisfied with the footwear available for longdistance runners, so they
started their own footwear company using Bowerman s waffle maker to produce the rubber soles.
Never underestimate the importance and relevance of contextual knowledge. Many successful
entrepreneurs have found their ideas by reading different newspapers and economic and technical
publications in order to keep abreast of trends and events taking place around the world. One
incredible advantage that students have is the access to resources available at colleges and
universities. Investigate what kinds of projects and experiments are going on in university research

Historical Context Of To Kill A Mockingbird
ϖTitle of work and author To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee ϖ Genre Novel ϖ Historical
Context The major historical context of To Kill a Mockingbird is the Great Depression and Civil
Rights in the 1950 s. Although the end of slavery was almost a century before the book was
published (1950), African Americans were still being denied many of their basic rights. Although
Lee s novel takes place in the South during the 1930s, conditions had not changed much by the
early 1960s in America. The Civil Rights movement was just taking shape in the 1950s, and its
principles were beginning to find a voice in American courtrooms and the law. Relating to To Kill a
Mockingbird, the justice system was very discriminatory in the 1950s because blacks were... Show

At the beginning of the novel, we learn that bob Ewell is the head of a family that has been the
disgrace of Maycomb for three generations . Although he is a white man, he receives no respect
from the people of Maycomb and he is looked down upon. Him and his family live in a shack by
the dump. He is not married and is the father of eight motherless kids. Bob Ewell has no desire to
improve his life; instead, he spends his money on alcohol causing the neighbors to turn a blind eye
about his activities because they pity his children. However, the Finch family refuses to turn a blind
eye to this scumbag. In the novel, Bob sees his daughter making advances on a colored man, Tom
Robinson. He is overwhelmed with hatred and shame causing him to force his daughter to press
false charges against Tom. Because during the 1930s people discriminated against colored and
fought to seem them brought down at any point, Bob Ewell won the trial leaving Atticus as the loser.
The verdict causes a split in the community and makes the Finch family
Looking For Alibrandi And Winnie The Pooh
I m not going to lie, I m quite scared, and anxious, even terrified, but as Max Lucado once said,
Meet your fear with faith , both faith in yourself, and faith in the people around you because
sometimes a different perspective is a smile away. This belief in others is clearly communicated in
Kate Wood s Looking for Alibrandi and beloved children s book Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne.
Josie Alibrandi, the protagonist of Looking for Alibrandi, marches through her life without her
father, deeming him as useless just like all dads , but as her life progresses through her final year of
formal education, her entire world turns upside down, illustrating to her the value of a father in her
life. Josie s scholarship schooling, although impressive, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Winnie the Pooh, although a children s book, still conveys the value of working off others, as a
means of personal growth and changing perspective. Winnie, along with his friends, venture their
world and coming together to work off each other s strengths and weaknesses. Each individual
character has a blatant difficult that they struggle with throughout their countless adventures and
stories, such as piglet being an anxious mess, and Eeyore struggling to find a reason to even
bother doing anything. Yet as their adventures progress, so does their friendship, constantly
evolving and adapting, working off each other to grow as people, and overall, change their
perspective. A prime example of how each individual assists in changing the perspective of
another, is the tale of when Winnie and his friends get lost in the woods. Piglet, being the only one
not with them, is terrified of both the dark and the forest, but he conquers his fears, not for himself,
but for his friends. He changed what he saw from a nightmare into a plain, old tree. Winnie the
Pooh may be a book directed at children, but it still shares the same concepts and beliefs that even
the greatest narratives present. Changing perspective can be a difficult process, but with help from
others, it can be
