Pathos, Pros, And Cons And Uses Of The Hyundai Commercials
One product most people use in their everyday lives are vehicles. I have chosen two commercials,
one advertising the Honda Ridgeline and the other marketing the Hyundai Elantra. In the Honda
commercial, a farmer tends to his sheep, that start singing as soon as the farmer drives away. The
Hyundai commercial is very comical, showing a town where everyone is Ryan Reynolds to catch
your attention. These commercials use pathos, ethos, and logos to sell their product.
Advertisements use many forms of persuasion to get people to buy their product. One of these is
pathos, which appeals to the emotions of the audience and evokes their feelings. In the Honda
commercial, one can see sheep in the pasture singing to Somebody to Love after the farmer drives
off in his new Honda Ridgeline. This is very humorous, considering sheep do not speak, let alone
belt out notes from Queen. Not only are there singing sheep, but there is a talking dog towards the
end of the commercial which tells those who are watching about the Honda Ridgeline ( Honda
Ridgeline Super Bowl Commercial internet). This is similar to the Hyundai commercial, which is
also very amusing. The audience can see two women driving through a neighborhood, where every
person is Ryan Reynolds. This shows pathos, because it appeals to the viewers emotions by laughing
at the comical commercial ( Ryanville Hyundai Super Bowl internet). Another form of persuasion
commercials use is ethos, which appeals to one s ethics. In the
The Detection System For Aircraft Inspection
Summary
The sub system which was analyzed in the aircraft flaw detection system is the sensing sub system .
The main function of this sub system is to determine whether the flaw detected by the scanning sub
system is valid by examining it further and notify the engineers if repair work is needed and provide
them with statistics of the flaw. Movement system will then be activated so that the robot marks the
points where examination has been done to ensure no repetition of inspection occurs.
The problem encountered with most of the sensing system for aircraft inspection is the efficiency
and accuracy of it. The robot has to be designed in such a way that flaws can be detected precisely
in a short period of time so that the airline companies could use it for quick and safe inspection.
The best sensing method is a combination of laser scanning and ultrasonic, due to the facts that
surface and in depth inspection could be carried out in a short period of time with minimum false
detection and less complicated analysis of inspection results.

Introduction
Ever since the first plane was invented by The Wright Brothers, their invention was further improved
and developed until present. Nevertheless, nothing is perfect, aviation accidents and incidents have
been happening once in a while and they are happening more frequently recently. The main factors
such as human error, weather, and mechanical failure have a total of 40%, contributing to the causes
of fatal aviation
Guided Meditation Research
Commonly, most people associate mediation with a super relaxed state, however meditation as
discipline requires great practice skill. This intensity could cause a physiological response opposite
to what most expect from meditation (Lumma, Kok, Singer). However, some studies showed that
meditation combined with breathing techniques, similar to those we used during our guided
meditation, decreased the heart rate, systolic, and diastolic pressure of patients with hypertension
(Angermann et al). If a person participates in guided meditation, then they will temporarily
experience lower heart rate and blood pressure because the subject consciously focuses on their body
instead of anything they may be worried about. As a null hypothesis, the person... Show more content

One group will participate in guided meditation for five minutes and the other will have a casual
conversation for five minutes. We will record their basal heart rate, systolic, and diastolic blood
pressure prior to the experiment, and then again periodically after the exposure to the treatment.

Methods:
While we measured our data, we needed to continue to measure until the participant s data returned
to close to level they were at for the basal readings. This ensured that we had all of the data
necessary to draw a conclusion about how guided meditation could affect blood pressure and heart
rate. A sphygmomanometer, phone with an app for meditation, and a stopwatch were used during
the experiment. The control group was expected to just talk during the five minute exposure and the
experimental group was meant to participate in guided meditation for five minutes. During class, we
numbered everyone off, assigning the even numbers to participate in the experimental group and
having the the odd numbers act as a control. We decided to do the experimental trial first. While
wearing the sphygmomanometer, we used a guided meditation app that gave us
Origins Of The Federalist And Democratic-Republican Parties
Nardine Salama 1998 DBQ ESSAY AP. USHISTORY The origins of the Federalist and Democratic
Republican parties can be traced back to the early 1790s. Initially, the Federalists, or broad
constructionists, favored the growth of federal power and a strong central government. The
Federalists promulgated a loose interpretation of the Constitution, which meant that they believed
that the government could do anything by the implied powers of the Constitution or that congress
had the right to interpret the Constitution based on connotation. On the contrary, the Democratic
Republicans favored the protection of states rights and the strict containment of federal power. The
Democratic Republicans were strict constructionists and they... Show more content on

C). This Act completely cut off commerce with foreign nations until the British and the French
repealed their trading restrictions on neutral shippers. As a result the American export trade and its
profits dried up. Many people deemed this Act unconstitutional; the constitution only grants
congress the power to regulate commerce, it does not however state that they have the power to
completely cut it off. This by itself contradicts everything Jefferson stood up for. Albert Gallatin,
one of the best financial minds in the Republican Party, convinced Jefferson that the Bank of the
U.S. was essential for financial stability. Although the creation of the Bank of the U.S. reduced the
nation s debt from 83 million in 1800 to 57 million by 1809 , the creation in its self shows a great
deal of broad constructionism. Although the bank was a reasonable means of carrying out powers
related to taxation and the borrowing of funds, nowhere in the constitution does it state that congress
has the power to charter a bank. John Randolph, a Republican congressman from Virginia, claimed
that this government (Jeffersonian) created and gave power to congress to regulate commerce and
equalize duties in the whole of the U.S, and not to lay a duty but with a steady eye to revenue .
What John Randolph was trying to say was that
Essay on Satire in Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Catch 22, by Joseph Heller, is a fictitious novel that depicts life on an American bomber squadron
on Pianosa, an island off the coast of Italy, during the closing years of World War II. A bombardier
by the name of Yossarian, the main character in the story, is joined by many others to create a comic
drama unlike any other. But aside from the entertainment, Heller uses Catch 22to satirize many
aspects of everyday life that consist of hypocrisy, corruption, and insanity. From the laziness of
policeman to the fake happiness brought about by money, the novel is painted with a great number
of points targeted against the faults of modern society. However, along with these smaller targets, a
majority of the Heller s satirein the novel is aimed... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, in the eyes of Colonel Cathcart and Colonel Korn, they see themselves risking their
lives for America, but they do not even go on combat missions and all they are really only
responsible for is shuffling papers. Through these characters, Heller satirizes how corrupt and unfair
that system is, where essentially random men are called upon to control other random men in an
dictatorial bureaucracy. Human nature is yet another target of Heller s satire in the novel and is seen
throughout many different characters. Heller explains to the reader, through this method of satire
just how selfish and greedy men are and become during the war. Chief White Halfoat recollects his
past life in the States where him and the rest of his Native American kinsmen would not be allowed
into certain hotels because of their ethnicity. He states to Yossarian in a serious and convicted
manner that racial prejudice is a terrible thing and that it is terrible to treat a decent, loyal Indian
like a nigger, kike, wop or spic (53). Chief White Halfoat is against racism but refuses to have an
open mind toward other races and only cares about Indians, which results in Chief White Halfoat
being a racist himself. This is seen in modern American society today
The Great House, By Frank Herbert
Literature has gone through many eras, with each changing it in its own way, but it can be argued
that the era that changed literature the most was the modern era. Dune by Frank Herbert is a science
fiction novel of the modern era and fits the modernist theme to a tee. The modern era, like any other
literary era, can be categorized by the attributes that modernist literature contain. Dune, being a
member of the literary era, is riddled with such attributes. Dune is part of the modern literary era, as
shown by it following the general theme and properties of that era.
In works of the modern literary era figures of authority are often shown as untrustworthy, this
property is clearly visible in Dune. The great houses, a source of authority in the Dune universe, are
widely seen as untrustworthy and suspicious. An assassination attempt is aimed at main character
Paul Atreides. The Atreides, the great house the main character belongs to, believe it was the
Harkonnen s, another of the great houses, who planned it, showing their distrust and suspicion of
them. Duke Leto says and were Harkonnen creatures almost to a man. They have tried to take the
life of my son! (Dune, pg. 126) showing how his distrust in them causes him to question their
humanity. This shows how the great houses, Dune s form of an authority figure, are seen as not
trustworthy even by the other great houses. The great houses are not to be trusted, showing how
authority in Dune isn t always to be trusted, but
Female Serial Killers
Not many people know that women can murder others, let alone, be serial murderers. What has
been perceived generally in our societies is that women are the creation of God who sacrifice for
others and care selflessly. It is the males who are seen as the abusers, the ones who murder, kill
others for their selfish motives. That is true but not completely. The majority of people who abuse,
or kill are males. However, women are also seen as doing these acts so anonymous to their feminism
. Women also murder, and surprisingly, they can be even more dangerous than males (Deborah,
2000). My research paper will prove that women can be murderers and some can be really brutal.

There is a benefit of choosing such a profession that places them in situations where they are in
contact with helpless individuals. Due to their vulnerability it becomes easier to poison the victim
as the sick or infirm cannot resist. Plus, when a sick victim dies and there are no overt signs of
struggle, it is easy for police to mistake the crime for a natural death. Over 50% are either very
young or very old (Deborah, 2000).
What is the purpose behind the murders?
Women kill largely for instrumental reasons such as monetary gain rather than affective reasons
such as achieving motional satisfaction. Absent is the presence of sexual fantasy as a motivating
factor (Richard N.Kocsis, 2007). A survey of known serial killers worldwide reveals that 41% of
homicidal women kill for profit or greed. Female serial killers who victimize their own children and
other relatives sometimes have a much stranger motive than profit. According to psychiatrists, some
of them become addicted to the sympathetic attention they receive after the death of their loved ones
(Micheal John, 2008).
TYPES OF FEMALE SERIAL MURDERERS
Black widows
The nickname of such killers, of course, comes from the black widow spider, which kills its partner
after mating. Human black widows are essentially the same. They usually start killing after the age
of twenty five, and for a decade or longer they
Sports vs. Action Games
Martin 1 Michael Martin Irene Wirshing ENC1101 05/24/10 Sports games Vs. Action Games
Video games have become a major aspect of our society. Kids play it almost every day, even adults
get into it. There are many different game types you can choose from such as action, adventure,
sports, Disney, and many more. The two that I want to focus on though is sports and action games.
Both of them have their own style; action deals with explosions and gunfire usually just a lot of
things happening while sports deals... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only thing that is in common with games is how long they take to make, the process. You
need many different animators producers, others for sound affects and visual art. Also you can
bring in a musical artist or group if you want Martin 3 certain songs to play throughout the game.
Some games involve story lines even the sports games. The turn seasons into stories, for example,
madden NFL; madden is a football game that has been around for many years. It gives you the
ability to create a player and have a career with that player, like a story sort of. Same goes for lets
say God of War. It s an action game about a god you play and you set out on a journey to kill your
father. So making each game has its differences but the basics of just making one is basically the
same thing. All in all, you can t say that every video game is the same. You got to look at the type
of game it is and how it feels to play it. I mean you can find some similarities but mostly the
differences are pretty obvious. Moat people who don t play video games are always saying things
like, oh it isn t realistic, and what not but they just say that cause those are the people who aren t
very good at them
