Aromaticity Of Pyridine Lab Report
Aromaticity and reactions of pyridine Introduction
Pyridine is a nitrogen containing aromatic analogue of benzene. The N in pyridine is sigma bonded
to two atoms and has a lone pair, and is therefore sp2 hybridized.
This leaves one electron in an unhybridized p orbital, which contributes to the system, making a
total of 6, and therefore an aromatic molecule (5 x C H contribute 5 electrons, N contributes 1, =
6, 4N+2). The lone pair on the N is in an sp2 orbital, which means it is directed away from the ring
but in the same plane.
The lone pair of electrons are not involved in the aromatic system, and stick out away from the
molecule.
Pyridine is aromatic, and displays aromatic characteristics such as high resonance energy (27kcal
/mol), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Piano Recital Essay
Recital; a performance of music or poetry, usually given by one person or a small group of
people. (Cambridge) A recital is something that seems like a staple for any pianist of today s age.
However, rewind the clock 250 years, and you ll find quite a different story. The piano never was
used in a recital hall like today. We owe our current version of a recital to one man: the undisputable
rock star of the 19th century, Franz Liszt. Everything we recognize about the modern pianorecital
think Keith Jarrett, Glenn Gould, Tori Amos or Elton John Liszt did first. Even the name recital was
his invention. (NPR)

The Pre Lisztian era includes many composers that we pianists consider to be among the most
important and influential, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert to name a few. These composers
wrote some of the greatest piano music in history; Bach s unprecedented Goldberg Variations,
Beethoven s monumental Hammerklavier sonata, Mozart s stormy d minor concerto, and Schubert s

By about 20, he became history s very first rock star. The revolutionary idea that Liszt had was
that he saw the piano as not just a musical instrument, but as a theatrical one as well. Audiences
were stunned when Liszt strolled to the piano, alone on the stage. He would take a seat at the
piano, and before beginning to play, would whip off his white gloves and throw them out into the
crowd before pouncing on the keys. The piano had for the first time been turned so that the
audience could see Liszt s face, and amazingly he was performing without the score in front of him.
The audience went wild, sparking an age known as Lisztomania. Liszt had created the piano recital.

The Code Switching Language Teaching
The code switching language taught me a new way to reach my future students on a grammatical

formal language is neither incorrect nor correct but which form is appropriate for the situation that
the student is in. The method improves grammar and the students grasp on written and spoken
English, while not focusing on the students ability to write a correct sentence. While learning about
code switching the process reminded me of an urban slang dictionary being used. A code switching

Learning about dialects was another interesting topic we discussed in class, the topic made me
really think deep about what kind of dialect I use in everyday life. Dialects are a specific variation
of a language in a particular region or ethic group with individualized phonological features to wide
range of groups. A large part of decoding dialects is the understanding of the International Phonetic
Alphabet, phonology, and phonemes used in the different areas you might be teaching in.
Phonology is the study of sound and phonemes is the smallest unit of sound both are key to use and
listen for when in a new region of the country. The International Phonetic Alphabet represents the
sounds letters make for a spoken language and when written the word reads as a certain dialect.
Lexical features of dialects are the preferred terms of words used in certain dialects with different
synonyms used by other dialects. Learning about dialects also taught me how people code switch
from home to public settings. I speak a Northern Jersey with a small amount of classic southern
mixed into my dialect. Allowing me to understand multiple dialects including Standard English. My
stronger northern accent may cause me teaching in areas with a strong southern accent to be a little
bit of a struggle with my students and myself.
Rape In College Campus Essay
The biggest challenge facing college students today has nothing to do with education. It has nothing
to do with the heavy workload, the stress, or even the unreasonably high costs of tuition (even
though that is a close second). The biggest challenge that college students have to face today is rape
and sexual assault.
Rape is the most common act of crime on college campuses, and is a huge, yet overlooked problem.
One in every four college woman will be a victim of sexual assault during her years of study. That
s 50 woman in an average introductory class of 200; considering that victims of rape on a college
campus are the most vulnerable during their early years of college. Part of this problem is the lack
of effort that some colleges and universities put towards educating the administrators on how to
handle these types of situations. Many of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Quite a few colleges have begun to set up Safety Poles, giving students an easy access to the
awaiting police officers on campus. However, the only way to truly fix this problem is to address
its source. One in twelve men as young adults will admit to doing a sexual act that fits the
definition of rape and/or attempted rape, and still will not refer to themselves as rapists. To fix
these misunderstandings, there should be a required college course that educates their early
students on what is acceptable and what is not acceptable to do with their peers. Some people will
argue that this is a little too much , or unnecessary , but no matter how many Safety Poles a college
has set up, no matter how many police officers the campus has around, no matter how many
precautions the victim takes not to get raped or sexually assaulted, if there are rapists present on
campus, they will find a way to get what they want. People must stop focusing on the victims of rape
and sexual assault, and start focussing on the actual rapists and sexual
The Dream Sequence From The Big Lebowski
The Gutterballs dream sequence from The Big Lebowski incorporates images that stem from
experiences earlier in the movie: each image is a memory from The Dude s real life. The dream
strips the dream thoughts of their high intensity and transfers them to these images that, due to
overdetermination, have intensity values higher than what they originally were: a transference and
displacement of physical intensities occurs... and it is as a result that the difference between the text
of the dreamcontent and that of the dream thoughts comes about (Freud 820). The dream, through
the process of condensation, compresses all meaning from the unconscious mindinto the images
shown (Freud 819) and links them together in an attempt to convey the dream wish that lies at the
centre of the dream thoughts. By unravelling the dream thoughts, the viewer is able to recognize that
Maude represents women in Gutterballs and The Dude s desire for comfortableness with the reality
of female genitalia, but remains inaccessible due the fear of castration that comes with the
confrontation of a woman s lack of a phallus. Thus, The Dude requires the fetishizing of bowlingin
order to access Maude and her symbolic meaning. The manifest content of the dream, the physical
images of the dream, are highly overdetermined from an original source: multiple determination must
be of importance in choosing what particular elements shall enter a dream (Freud 820). Each image
seen in the dream can be traced
Mark Edmundson And Paulo Freire
Although Mark Edmundson and Paulo Freire believe that a higher form of education such as, a
stronger teaching ethics, deeper understanding, and more passionate students is needed to correct the
issues at hand. In their essay they both adopt a different style to present tis idea. Paulo Freire wants
the individual to form himself rather than be formed. To this end, he proposes that educational topics
or opportunities be taken from the daily experience the individual constantly encounters and avoid
the current educational pitfall of resorting to artificial experiences. While, Edmundson is trying to
show how educationhas change due to the leak of consumerism into universities. Edmundson
acknowledge his own conformity and promise to change back to what he thinks will make a good
class and challenge his students to think on another level.
Paulo Freire dwells on the idea that a teacher s task is to simplify fill a student s mind. He describes
the banking concept as a habitual learning process where the teachers oppress the knowledge that
they considered important on the student by supplying the student with the material and not given
them the opportunity to question the material presented. Freire states; that In the banking concept of
education, knowledge is a gift bestowed by those who considered themselves knowledgeable upon
those whom they considered to know nothing. Projecting an absolute ignorance onto others, a
characteristic of the ideology of oppression, negates
The Action Of The Colonist
1.The appropriate action of the colonist in response to the taxation imposed by the British
Crown. Take a moment if you will and think what it would be like if you and all your friend spoke
with British accents and instead of your morning coffee you read the paper over the morning tea.
Both are two small differences that would be about if the colonist had not responded in the
manner they did in their response to the taxation imposed by the British Crown. We will never
truly know how the colonies would have turned out if they would had stayed under the rule of the
Crown. Nevertheless the Crown brought it upon itself with the taxation without representation.
The year is 1764 and the French and Indian War has ended. There is a staggering war debt held by
the crown. George Grenville the British Prime Minister at the time decided to explore the option
of taxing the colonies to make the debt more manageable. According to (Roark et al., 2014) the
sugar act was a British law that decreased the duty on French molasses, making it more attractive
for shippers to obey the law, and at the same time raised the penalties for smuggling. The sugar
act regulated trade but was also intended to raise revenue much in the same tradition of the
Navigation acts. Grenville s hope for the Sugar Act did not materialize, however the next year he
escalated his revenue program with the Stamp Act. In the words of (Roark et al., 2014) The Stamp
Act was a 1765 British law imposing a tax on all paper used
Analyzing Countries Through Data Accumulations
Analyzing countries through data accumulations is a popular way to make informed decisions on
the behalf of the inhabitants and to understand the demographic situations of those areas. Population
Pyramids are one of the several types of methods utilized to observe conditions in a clear, efficient
fashion. These graphs provide accurate information for the purpose of predicting future issues,
making reasonable choices, and can express implications to birth rates, death rates, and other
important ideas concerning the demographics.

Commonly found in developed countries, nations usually have long life expectancies, stable
governments, and quality health support. One example of this is the United States of America
(shown right).
Next, there is Declining Growth, in which a country s pyramid is shaped much like a diamond. The
middle section bulges the most in terms of population, and youth as well as elderly are in lower
numbers. Nations with negative growth population most likely have birth rates that are too low.
Nevertheless, these countries are often developed and posses long life expectancy, balanced, secure
government systems, and quality health care. Japan is a clear example of being in this state (shown
left).
Finally, Rapid Growth is the third and most typical form of a population graph. Iraq expresses this
structure and stage of demographic transition, in which a large base become less wide as you
increase the age range. Normally, Rapid Growth populations point to poor conditions, poor health
care, and low life expectancy. It also is linked with developing, or underdeveloped nations.
For this reason, from Iraq s population pyramid I would instantly assume that Iraq is currently
undergoing stages of a developing country or not yet forming country. This is because the high birth
rate and low life expectancy are probably outcomes of the country s underdevelopment as they are
not
