White Privilege In Ta-Nehisi Coates s Between The World
When the Jason Stockley Verdict came out, St.Louis went on lockdown, businesses closed, roads
were shut down, and white people were scared. Another black man had been unjustly shot by the
police, and people were understandably angry. When a friend and I conversed about going to a
protest, a young white man told us that he didn t understand why we were so angry, he said, you
could have been born in some poor village in India and would have to work in a shoe factory, this
undoubtedly made me very upset because the young man would never understand what it is like to
fear for his brothers, father, or cousins not coming home because they were racially profiled or
killed by the police. But, what I realized is that this boy was a victim of White... Show more content

This evident by the fact that Black Lives Matter is controversial. When white people say All
Lives Matter , what they really mean is I understand that black people are being oppressed, but I
do not want to address the issue at hand . All Lives Matter was nowhere to be found when Trump
decided to put a travel ban on Muslims, or when Nazis marched through the streets and killed a
woman. The phrase is said to ignore the struggles of Black Americans, and to derail the
conversation on Oppression. Black Lives Matter should not be controversial at all, it is simply a
fact. Yes, All Lives Matter, but when people say Black Lives Matter , they are specifically talking
about Black issues, not everyone s
Self-Awareness And Self Awareness
Are dogs as smart as their owners think they are? Many people would automatically respond yes
to this question, but how does one define smart? Scientists who study animal behavior and
cognition have been debating this question since their field of study began. However, they have
come up with a few key ways to begin to determine intelligence, one being self awareness. Frans
De Waal defines self awareness as, consciousness of the self, which some interpret as requiring an
animal to pass the mirror mark test, whereas others believe that self awareness characterizes all
lifeforms. (De Waal 2017). Scientists believe that being able to recognize one s self as present in
the here and now is a sign of intelligence. Some domesticated dogs have been proven to show
qualities of self awareness using different varieties of mirror tests. Mirror self recognition (MSR)
tests have been used to determine the presence of self awareness since Gordon Gallop developed
it in 1970 (Pachniewska 2016). In this test, an animal is marked with some substance of a different
color than their skin, may that be paint or a sticker etc., and they are introduced to a mirror. If the
animal spends more time examining the mark on them in the mirror by moving to be able to see it
or touching it, then it is concluded that the animal realizes that the reflection is of themselves and
pass the mirror test(Pachniewska 2016). This test does not work for all animals, however; it is made
mainly for animals whose
Taliban Ideology
Taliban as an ideology is worst. This is simply a different story than the people in the West are
apprehending it.

These are Taliban who come from Pashtun ethnicity. They ve been fighting for recognition as an
ethnic Pashtun majority in Afghanistan where the minority (Tajik and Uzbek) has been ruling since
the US led invasion of the region. Tajik and Uzbek (formerly northern alliance who make up the
smallest minority in whole of Afghanistan) are running the major institutes of Afghanistan any
majority anywhere in the world would never sit around and see their rights squashed; while their
people have to suffer in misery.

There are some cases that some people has joined taliban not in support of their ideology but just
because of the presence of drug traffickers, kidnappers and corrupt people in the government for the
last 13 years (There were some good people too in the government but they ... Show more content on

Pakistan constantly lectured the US on ethnic conflict in Afghanistan to take place in any future
government setup, but warnings fell on deaf ears... look at the situation today.

Only recently did America understand the worries from Pakistan when the ungrateful ex President
of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai (who was all about pushing India s agenda in the country) declined
to sign a paper with the US, allowing minimum number of the US forces in Afghanistan to remain
for 10 years. Karzai refused to sign that and instead humiliated the US on various occasion by
calling them to leave. Anyone can apprehend why he was so desperate to drive the US forces out
of Afghanistan (while Pakistan pushed on the US to stay in the region Pakistan knew who was
motivating Karzai to ask the US to leave the region and for what
Pierre Turquoise In Ancient Egyptian Culture
Turquoise is one of the main birthstones for people born in December. Historically the stone was
very important and played a major role in the ancient Egyptian civilization. During this period the
stone was used for jewelry as well as for decorating tombstones. The name of the stone is probably
derived from the French term pierre turquoise meaning Turkish stone since this is where the first
deposits of the stone were found in the ancient world. Egyptians, the Mongols and Persians valued
this birthstone highly. American Indians are credited with giving the stone a global appeal unlike
any other cultures as they used it extensively on jewelry and for spiritual purposes. A Fragile, brittle
and sensitive stone Turquoise is a hydrous phosphate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a fairly hard stone and usually rates at 5 6 on a scale of 10.It may be brittle or chalky and may
have a waxy luster, lower grades are usually dull. Chalky stones are normally impregnated with
resin to make them lustrous and durable and can be easily detected by odor. Being a phosphate
mineral, the stone is fragile and highly sensitive to solvents including cosmetics and perfumes
.These tend to damage the finish and change the color of the stone. Prolonged exposure to
sunlight may also cause discoloration or dehydrate the stone. A stone full of meaning There are
many myths and superstitions associated with turquoise. In the 3rd century, it was believed to
protect people who donned it from falling off a horse. A change in color was often linked to
unfaithfulness in a wife while Arabs believed that the stone shone when the air was pure and
paled when the air was polluted. Persians believed that its reflection during the new moon brought
good luck and guarded against evil. It was said to bring healing by just a mere glance while
placing it on an inflamed eye brought cure to the affected part. During the 15th century its color
was closely linked to the health of the user. It was said to turn pale in illness, lose color in death
and regain its original beauty in the hands of a new and healthy
Why Do You Should Be Used In The Event Of An Accident Or...
Objective:
The quantity and type of hazardous materials handled at the facility and the nature of our
operations present a relatively low risk of a dangerous incident involving exposure to hazardous
materials. Further, we rely upon community provided emergency services for primary emergency
response should such an incident occur. Nevertheless, there are certain emergency response
activities that facility personnel may undertake. This is especially true in the event of a spill or
other unplanned release of a hazardous material. Should, for example, a bulk oil storage tank fail, a
significant release could occur and a prompt facility response may be required to prevent an
environmentally damaging incident. The facility can also respond in ... Show more content on

Rudy at Auschwitz
Rudy at Auschwitz Rudy and his family stayed in the Ileresiendstadt ghetto for almost two years.
Then in 1944, they were told to prepare to move. In the selection below, Rudy describes what
happened next. In March or April, 1944, we got the dreaded notice that we had been selected for
resettlement farther east. The train cars they took us in were actually cattle cars. We entered the
cars and sat on our baggage. There was not very much room between us and the roof of the cattle
car. Our car had from 80 to 100 people in it so it was quite crowded. We were sifting tight on tight.
We had some water and some food but no comfort whatsoever. The cars were sealed. We could not
open them from the inside. The w indows were small, open... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The mattress was just burlap filled with straw. We had not eaten at that time, and we were not to
get anything to eat until the next morning. The Daily Routine at Auschwitz In the morning we
got metal cups and spoons. We were each given two slices of bread and sometimes a pat of
margarine or a little bit of marmalade. The coffee was toasted acorns ground up. It tasted terrible.
The midday meal was potato soup with maybe a li ttle bit of meat. Potatoes were the main
ingredient and the kind of beets you normally feed to cattle. We were already hungry in the
Theresienstadt ghetto because we did not get enough to eat. In Auschwitz we were beginning to
starve. In the evening we go t another slice of bread, some coffee, no marmalade, no butter, no
nothing. Every morning we had the counting of the prisoners. We were arranged in groups of five
with just small distances between us. The SS trooper would come by and start counting one, two,
three, four, five. If he miscounted, he went over it again. Sometimes we stood there two hours. I
kept wondering why none of us tried to overpower this lone guard who had just a small pistol.
But what could we have done? There were guardposts on either end and high tension wires in
between. We would all have been killed. We did not know that Auschwitz was an extermination
camp or that we could be put to death. We did know that there was always this sickly sweet smell
in the air. We saw a large chimney belching smoke 24 hours a
Comparing Foucault And Panopticism
Panopticism Panopticism is a social theory named after the Panopticon, according to Foucault,
his describes a watch tower in a prison and he thinks Panopticism is how people act different
when they re being watched. Rayner perspective on Panopticism is how we can use social media
to our advantage. In this essay, I will analyze both Foucault and Rayner perspective on
Panopticism and will determine the rhetorical appeals of both writings. This is an example of
ethos because Generally speaking, it might be said that discipline are techniques for assuring the
ordering of human multiplicities. It is true that there is nothing exceptional or even characteristics
in this: every system or power or presented with the same problem ( Foucault, 2012, p. 207).
Foucault was a French historian and philosopher. He had a strong influence in philosophy, but also
in a wide range of humanistic and social scientific disciplines. Foucault was the philosopher who
created the term, Panopticism . This is an example of Logos because, In this task of adjustment,
discipline had to solve a number of problems for which the old economy of power was not
sufficiently equipped. It could reduce the inefficiency of mass phenomena: reduce what, in a
multiplicity, make it much less manageable than unity.... (Foucault, 2012, p. 208). He talks about the
watch towerin a prisonand they noticed when people are being watched from the watchtower, people
change their behavior. This is an example of of
What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Soybean
Soybean is an important crop, with food, nutritional, industrial, and pharmaceutical uses. Soybean
seeds contain about 40% protein and about 20% oil. They are also abundant in physiologically active
metabolites such as isoflavones, lecithins, tocopherols and saponins, in addition to functional
proteins and are used as an affordable source of foods that promote and maintain health (Sugano
2005).
The genomic era is now under way for soybean, as for other many crops. Recently, a soybean
genomics database has been developed from the whole genome sequence (Schmutz et al. 2010), and
a large number of genomic, transcriptional, and functional annotated sequences can be retrieved from

ADVANTAGES OF SOYBEAS TRANSFORMATION

Insect and nematode resistance

Insecticidal crystal proteins (cry proteins or δ endotoxins) are an active component of Bacillus
thuringiensis(Bt) toxin, a biological insecticide (Tabashnik 1994). Expression of the Bt cry gene in
soybean has proven highly effective for controlling insect pests , and the resistance to lepidopteran
pests in a transgenic line expressing Bt cry1A was confirmed under field conditions
Disease resistance
Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) is endemic in virtually all regions where soybeans are grown in the
presence of vector insects. SMV can cause serious yield losses (Ross 1969), so virus resistance is an
essential trait for introduction
Abiotic stress tolerance
Drought stress is one of the major environmental limitations on crop production. Transgenic soybean
expressing P5CR, encoding l Δ1 pyrroline 5 carboxylate reductase, which catalyzes the final step in
proline biosynthesis, under the control of an inducible heat shock promoter was more tolerant to
drought and high temperature than non transgenic plants (De Ronde et al. 2004a,
