The Perfect Crime Essay
The Perfect Crime

Sentence was passed and in that moment my whole life completely changed. In the background,
you could hear the people chant, Justice has finally been served! They don t know me I thought.
Everybody makes mistakes, right? But, where was my second chance in life. My luck, the death
penalty became legal again and eagerly waiting for me to become its newest member. My palms
grew sweaty as always when I grew nervous and scared. There was nothing I could do. These people
wanted me to pay for what I put them through.
You re probably wondering what I did. Well, where do I start? Let me begin on the day my little
brain came up with this supposedly brilliant idea. It was on a summer s afternoon and the sun was
gleaming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They offered money for my silence and then threatened to kill me if I spoke. I laughed at their
remark and reassured them this wasn t the reason why I came. By the end of the day, I was a new
member of their little cult.
We stole, robbed and mugged people day in and day out. Life seemed so beautiful at that point. I
constantly took out my family and friends for dinners to the fanciest restaurants. I wore expensive
clothes from the finest stores in Beverly Hills. No more shopping in Flea markets and looking for
bargains. I was living the life I d always wanted and didn t have to work so hard in getting it like
everybody else.
But on one crazy afternoon, things didn t go as planned. The plan was to walk in and walk out.
In less then two minutes we d have to retrieve the gem. The decoys were Ben and I and Richard
was the front man. All it needed was three men for the job. No one was home; at least we thought
there wasn t anyone. The family of the house was having a birthday party for little Johnny outside
in the garden and still figured we could manage to go inside and get the job done without them
realizing. Surprisingly, as things were about to come to an end little Johnny walked in to find me
stealing his rich grandfather s red rose. His screams echoed all through and around the house,
alarming everyone. Little Johnny became our only ticket out. We took him in
Media Portrayal Of Women And Minorities At The University...
In the The construction of Masculinity in fast food TV Advertising Carrier Packwood , Freeman
and Debra Merskin , Professors and studies how the media portrays veganism and animal
production at the University of Georgia, Debra also teaches and does research on the media
portrayal of women and minorities at the University of Oregon . It is challenging that genderhas been
used construct characters. The authors portray different stereotypesin commercials or advertisements
in general which are fast food products and they urge how this stereotypes are presented
.Furthermore they point out this characters which are objectification of women, supreme identity of
maleand women as freedom takers. These characters have built meanings and it has become
something normal in the American population. People are not buying products instead stereotypes
of characters. In relation to fast food products different products also use this stereotypes in
commercial and advertisement

In the Carrie and Fressman essay men stereotypical behaviors are portrayed as sovereign or self
independent creatures. They are shown as people who can do better at anything they are the
masters. The society today also has grown to defend this because men are put in charge of
everything. Moreover the authors claim that men are shown more as employed in more occupations
and they often have a voice than the women do. Media have also embedded this stereotype because
some commercials used terms as this equate
Themes In Beowulf
From the beginning of Beowulf we are able to understand and see the central themes and points
that are being focused on. From the assigned readings of Beowulf and after finishing the entire
piece I found it stuck with its major theme in which we are given from the prologue of the story.
From the start of the story we are able to identify with ScyldScefing and his role as king and leader.
Power plays a major role and theme throughout the entire story which allows the story to flow well
and keep the theme strong and intriguing to the readers. I found that the major themes within this
whole story revolve around the idea of power, legacy , and heroism. These three themes are what the
story of Beowulfis about and the author portrays these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are other characters within the story that help show and increase the theme of leadership and
honor such as, King
Hrothgar who is the king of the Danes. Hrothgar enjoys military success and prosperity until
Grendel terrorizes his realm. A wise and aged ruler, Hrothgar represents a different kind of
leadership from the youthful warrior Beowulf. He is a model for the kind of king that Beowulf
becomes. He also has a scene within the first part of the story which represents the honor and
power that these characters represented, Then success in war was given to Hrothgar, honor in
battle, so that his beloved kinsmen eagerly served him, until the young soldiers grew into a
mighty troop of men. It came to his mind that he should order a hall building, have men make a
great mead house which the sons of men should remember forever and there inside he would
share everything with young and old that God had given him, except for the common land and
the lives of men. (64 73). This is a great example of how the author is trying to express the idea of
always being remembered and carrying on their legacies. Also the importance of success in war is
what truly brought Hrothgar to power and the respect of his
Santiago In John Steinbeck s The Alchemist
My main focus of this story is the boy, whose name is Santiago. Santiago is the main character of
the book, The Alchemist. He is the protagonist of this story and faces many challenges. This child
was born in a small town in Andalusia, who attended the seminary, but now he travels around the
world. Before he traveled around the world, he asked his father s permission to become a
Shepherd. His father agreed with him and gave him money. One night in an abandoned church, he
dreamed of a child telling him that he will find treasure in the pyramids. The next day he meets a
man in the town of Tarifa, who sends him on a journey to the other side of Africa. Early into the
journey he meets an old king whose name is Melchizedek, who advices him to sell
Applied Behavior Analysis ( Aba )
This paper focuses on applied behavior analysis (ABA). The concept of ABA in definition is the
use of knowledge gained within science of behavior to improve behaviors that are socially crucial.
The researchers of this paper focus not the importance of having parents use ABA training when
working with their children who have autismspectrum disorder (ASD). There has been a large
amount of research done on ABA techniques and it is something that has been used in many
different fields of practice. Areas such as social work, education, medicine, etc have benefited from
the ABA approach. Now it is important to distinguish what the views of parents using ABA are.
Although there is no specific or determined reasoning to why individuals become... Show more

This is why it is important that parents become trained in ABA. However, it is important that
parents do not think that one approach will solve any child s autism difficulties. The idea of
using a cookbook recipe to fix their child is something that must be thrown out the window and
techniques that encourage parents to become educated about the broadness of autism should be
used. This includes learning how their child functions and ways to help design a ABA for their
child rather than basing it off of statistics (Dillenburger et al.,2004). Autism is an independent
variable when looking at this study, regardless of whatever we do the child will always have
ASD. As for a dependent variable there are many contributing factors that may effect the child
with ASD. These are things like having goals, such as quality of life, skills development,
interaction, independence and skills maintenance. These are things that can be regulated with a
good ABA and empowerment of parents. The current study consisted of 22 families in home
based ABA programs in Northern Ireland. The groups were separated depending on the length of
time they had been trained in ABA . The long term group were involved in the ABA program for
an average of 35.5 months while the short term group were involved for an average of 6.1 months.
The age of the individuals were substantially average. The average age

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Opening of Minority Report

The genre of this film is a modern Sci Fi movie that deals with the issue of fate and free will. It is
in the future because it says the date at the start of the film. The film deals with the issue of free
will and fate because the police have a department of pre crime and they can see into the future with
there new machine. Next they find the person who might commit the crime and do a test, but
sometimes the machine goes wrong. If the test is positive then an arrest is made which could change
the course of the world. This makes the audience think if the police are doing the right thing because

Like most modern films this has lots of quick snappy editing from one moment to the next. At the
very start is some good editing where there are pictures on top of pictures with a kissing scene
and scissors all intertwined as one. There is also a lot of cutting between facial expressions and
moving bodies all lapping over each other making the audience confused and inquisitive to know
what is happening. I feel that it is good because you get an insight of what is happening, but the
audience has no real idea what is going on. It is only until you see this screen that Tom Cruise is
working on that you can see what is happening. There is also a lot of cutting in this film from
what Tom Cruise is seeing and what is happening in real time. In the opening clip for example you
have you have the man murdering on screen then you have the quiet family scene where
everything is happening normally. I feel that this quick editing gives the audience a chance to
play along and see if they can work out how the quiet family scene at breakfast goes from normal
to completely insane like doing a jigsaw with no picture. I feel as a viewer it is very sneaky how
the producer managed to keep us guessing and thinking on how this might occur. In the film there is
also very quick editing when we are getting to the
Analysis Of The Glass Castle, By Jeannette Walls
Jeannette Walls s life growing up was rough. It wasn t this great adventure that her parents tried to
make themselves and their kids believe it was. However, the kids did grow up independent, well
rounded and educated in many areas that children might usually be sheltered from. The Glass
Castle is a memoir written by Jeannette Walls about her childhood growing up with parents that
lived unconventional lives chasing freedom. This book spent 261 weeks on New York Times
Bestseller list which does not surprise me in the least; it was a fantastic read. First of all, I am
usually not a fan of memoirs, but I enjoyed reading this one immensely. The style of writing is
very descriptive, which helps the reader create an imagine in their head and feel as if they are
there with the characters. I appreciate J. Walls staying objective throughout the book, she doesn t
add in her opinion about what she feels was right or wrong about her childhood. As a matter of
fact the tone of the book makes me feel more like she is trying to make sense of it herself by
simply writing it down. The conflicting emotions I experienced while reading this book is what
made it a great read. I could not help but empathise with all of the characters. The children were
clearly not at fault for any of the scary and disgusting things that happened to them, yet I could not
completely hate the parents either. The father s character was complex like all of the other
characters in this book. His troubled past could
Mercury Contamination
Mercury Mercury is a chemical element of heavy silver and white metal that is liquid at ordinary
temperatures. The main use of mercury is the making of thermometers and barometers. Sometimes
mercury is used as an electrode in the production of batteries. Mercury can be very toxic and harmful
to the human body. If inhaled it can cause destruction to the nervous, digestive, and immune systems
and can even be fatal. Mercury is found in many natural sources such as volcanos, forest fires, and
fossil fuels (coal and petroleum). Studies show power plants to be the largest source of mercury in
the United States. Humans can prevent mercury contamination in several ways. When shopping for
items such as thermometers, try to get them mercury free.
Phobia Research Papers
Fear, one of the most powerful emotions experienced by many and has served generations after
generations of people, but while serving became an overwhelming universal symbol of disdain, a
feeling born from self preservation, where its designated function has diminished it into a
subversive role of the human condition. Where its horrifying purpose to protect has in some cases
become a burden of irrationality that can be showed in a simple word known as a phobia. A phobia is
the caustic effects of fearand attempting to treat it is going to be the goal of today where techniques
will be showed how to counteract the ill consequences of an out of control emotion.
To start with is to mention the subject afflicted with a phobia who shall remain anonymous ... Show

unsatisfactory results are still met, symptoms will continue to be medicated, and an alternative
treatment plan will be made. If the methods used above are done just as mentioned, it should bring
adequate treatment to the subject, and if it doesn t, it will at least manage some of the symptoms
that are being faced. While not everything can be cured this method will provide an adequate
chance to reform the subject and bring about a favorable change in the individual, that will allow
them to lead a healthier life without worrying about their phobia and allow a world where the last
thing they have to fear is uncontrolled
Loss Of Innocence In Macbeth
What is innocence? It is neither a quality or a virtue, but rather a state of perception in which one
should maintain. This perception is both a manifestation of self understanding and social
moderation. It is desirable to ensure a positive outlook, but sometimes external forces come into play,
which rob one of this innocenceand forcibly expose them to malice. This is the case in William
Shakespeare s Macbeth, where the hero s innocence and naivete make him vulnerable prey to those
who are all too comfortable with evil namely Lady Macbeth and the three witches. Macbeth, who is
noble and loyal, is not accountable for his actions because he is manipulated by influences that he
has no control over, and overwhelmed by insurmountable emotions.... Show more content on

added facts of Duncan being a virtuous and highly respected man, he decides to proceed to

not only a simply a woman of persistence, she is possessed by evil passion so tremendous and
irresistible that Macbeth s Loyal nature is inevitably
