Victorian And Edwardian Briti A Place Rich Of Strict...
Victorian and Edwardian Britian was a place rich of strict christianity alongside widespread poverty
which resulted with a dangerous and damaging working structure, high rates of child mortality and a
rigid and damaging class structure that was highly focused around child labour.
The employment of children deprives them of childhood and a chance at education, interfering with
their ability to attend school and educational institutions, while mentally, physically and
emotionalling draining them. The lack of ceoncept of childhood resulted in chiren actively
participating in work as soon as they were seen competent.
Child labor interrupts a childrens cognitive development and can severly affect the childs social
development because the lack of freedom is impacting on their chance to engage in social play and
interacting with other individuals. Those who work many hours a week are at a higher risk to
develop problematic social behaviours and turn to negative behavoirs as they age alongside poor
preformance. [1]
In these times there was a lack of education, especially to the female population as it wasn t
deemed nessisary. Skills were passed down through generations as opposed to being learnt in
schools. This often lead to protests declaring that children were being used for slavery and being
stripped fo their adolescence and things that are vital for growth and understanding. With the
pressures for social reforms the victorian upperclass then became obsessed with idea of
Roots Of Revolution In Herman Melville s Billy Budd
Roots of Revolution
In Part V of Victor Hugo s Les Misérables, Jean Valjean, through the following quote, To owe life to
a criminal...to betray society in order to remain true...these absurdities should come about and be
heaped on top of him...it was this that defeated him, explains how Javert s subjugation to his internal
conflict imploded and eventually influenced his suicide (Hugo 1181). History has shown that a
person s or group s decision to take action with their given situation will inevitably have an effect on
their state of conflict. Events such as the American and French Revolutions evidence this statement.
Similarly, a person s state of conflict will also inevitably form them into whatever the situation
yields. A well known American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the Oxford American Dictionary, mutiny means an open rebellion against the proper
authorities . In chapters 3 5 of Billy Budd, Sailor Melville gives the reader an overview of two
mutinies that occurred in Europe in 1797. One known as the Spithead occurred in April of that
year. The other, known as The Great Mutiny, occurred at the Nore, a sand bank in the
Mediterranean Sea, in July of the same year (17). Melville s description of these events provides
historical context within the story that convince the reader that they occurred. Melville
incorporates Billy Budd into the issue of mutiny when Billy finds himself approached by another
sailor. This sailor begins to relate to Billy by stating his own impressment and suggests a potential
riot when he says Couldn t you help at a pinch? (Melville 58) The fellow seaman continues his
endeavor to involve Billy by throwing in bribery; however, Billy quickly impedes this notion by
threatening to throw the seaman overboard. Melville makes evidence for this when Billy says If
you d don t start, I ll t t toss you back over the rail ( 58). As one can see, the issue of mutiny never
actually surfaced in spite of the fact that Billy Budd eventually became the alleged insurgent of the
idea of mutiny. In spite of the fact that Billy initially conceived no notion of
The Role Of Antibiotics As Treatment For Australian...
Otitis media (OM) remains to be a major health concern in Australia, with an inexcusably substantial
disparity in the severity and incidence of otitis media, of all its forms, between Indigenous and non
Indigenous child populations. Specifically, children in Indigenous communities suffer from chronic
suppurative otitis mediaat rates that far surpasses the 4% threshold that defines a massive public
health concern (WHO, 1996). Currently, the first line of treatment for OM is the use of antibiotics,
which is characteristically used to treat cases of acute otitis media (AOM), with or without
perforation, and chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) (Morris Leach, 2009). However, with
rates of OM in high risk Indigenous communities failing to decline, the effectiveness of antibiotic
treatment has fallen under questioning. Many studies which have aimed to investigate the role of
antibiotics as treatment in Australian Indigenous children with OM have yielded diverse conclusions
regarding its efficacy. Therefore, the objective of this literature review is to determine the
effectiveness of antibiotics as treatment in Australian Indigenous children with otitis media.

Though, they were twins, they had different skills and attitudes. Zethus was the strongest man at the
time, and enjoyed manly actions that required physical strength, such as fighting and hunting.
Zethus couldn t understand Amphion s love for music, who excelled with the lyre and singing. It
was Amphion and Zethus who had built the walls and the seven gates of Thebes. When the wall of
Thebes was under construction, Zethus carried the heavy stones to build the wall from the
mountains of Cithaeron. Here, Amphion showed what his music could do. While playing his lyre,
the stones were charmed by the music that they followed Amphion. The statement: And hath not he
that built the walls of Thebes With ravishing sound of his melodious harp Made music with my
Mephistophilis? compares the seductive power of Mephistophilis to that of Amphion and his harp.
Before Mephistophilis, Faustus tries to attain his life goal under his own power similar to Zethus
building the wall of Thebe s in the traditional manner. Mephistophilis then came and was able to give
Faustus what he wanted through his pact in a manner very similar to Amphion charming the stone
into place. The danger is the difference between Amphion and Mephistophilis and the ambition of
Faustus. Amphion s music was meant as a metaphor to show that a city is nothing but a bunch of
rocks without the defining culture of its citizens to hold it together, Mephistophilis music
William Tennyson s Idylls Of The King
Throughout the book by Alfred, Lord Tennyson entitled Idylls of the King, subject, ideas, and object
often reoccur on each page bring with them deeper meaning then that which is apparent. The more
specific motif that I will be explaining is the contrast and similarity of light and darkness in the
descriptions of people, settings, and the mood of a situation. Lightand darkness can be contrasted in
many ways, such as the rising sun, bright colors, and physical description of darkness such as
heavy mist. When describing people during specific events, Tennyson uses the diction between
light and dark to show the reader inside the typical appearance of the character and see what they
truly are inside. As Arthur passes by Guinevere, he Felt the light of her eyes into his life
(Tennyson 6) while Guinevere did not even notice that the King had just been in her presence.
This light from her eyes is supposed to be describing Guinevere, but it really gives us insight into
the mind of Arthur. While Arthur has become King, he still acts like an average person. He does
not think more highly of himself than everyone else and can notice a simplistic young woman and
instantly love her, although he had no idea of who she is. This also shows Arthurs innocence in that
he instantly see s good in her and feel the light radiating off of her. We learn later that she is not
nearly as wonderful as Arthur had thought, and as Arthur learns that he was wrong to assume about
her, She made her face a
Essay about Machiavellian Poltician
Throughout history men have been struggling to become the
strongest or most dominant force in society. Scores of men,
throughout history, have taken notice that it is easier to
control several smaller states as opposed to one unified
state. In the late 15th and early 16th centuries a man by the
name of Nicolo Machiavelli reflected the actions of famous
men and their assent to power in his book The Prince. If
Machiavelli s advice was followed, a ruler could almost
guarantee success. But perhaps the first politician in the
modern world to follow the advice of The Prince, was a
man by the name of Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck.

his intentions known to all, and it was fairly clear that he
would use any means necessary to achieve his purpose,
even if that meant armed conflict. Machiavelli, on the
subject of war, stated in The Prince that quot;A prince ought to
have no other aim or thought, nor select anything else for
his study, than war and its rules and discipline; for this is the
sole art that belongs to him who rules, and it is of such
force that it not only upholds those who are born princes,
but it often enables men to rise from a private station to that
rank. And, on the contrary, it is seen that when princes
have thought more of ease than of arms they have lost their
states. And the first cause of your losing it is to neglect this
and; and what enables you to acquired a state is to master
of the art. quot; ( Machiavelli, 1505, Ch. 14 p.1) Bismarck
understood this very well and that is why he said quot; The

The Xbox One Is A Gaming Console
The Xbox One is a gaming console made by Microsoft, Inc. It is in the middle of its product life, 2
years old at the time of this paper. The success of the original Xbox, and Xbox 360 provided a
platform for Xbox one to succeed and capture market share for competition Sony PS3 and Nintendo.
Xbox one has become a bestselling gaming console with millions of units sold around the world.
Genesis:
Video games were originated first in laboratories by scientists. This first idea came from their
imaginations in late 1940s but unfortunately it did not reach the people as they were confined only
to laboratories. This situation was observed till early 1970s until arcade games became popular. Then
later on a new start up named Atari unleashed a new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nintendo s emphasis on creative games and interesting story lines changed user perception of
gaming. High quality of gaming introduced a new breed of consumers. (wikipedia)
The huge potential and high margins in gaming industry attracted stalwarts Sony and Microsoft to
directly compete with Nintendo by launching their own device consoles, PS3 and Xbox respectively.
Although a late entrant in the market, Microsoft attracted huge audience with Xbox in 2001. The
existence of developer network for Microsoft windows enabled new and enticing content to be
quickly developed for Xbox. As the semiconductor industry saw huge improvements and
innovations, Microsoft, and its competitors, introduced advanced hardware. Microsoft followed
Xbox with Xbox One in 2006 and Xbox Live in 2013.
Extension:
Xbox One, primarily a gaming device, had penetrated the market by 2010s and has developed a
huge fan base of millions of users. Xbox one was offered in multiple versions with 250GB, 500GB
hard disk capacity to allow users to store gaming content. Microsoft has extended the original Xbox
by adding larger disk space, improved multi player gaming capability, and a better user interface. The
enhancements on the console allowed game developers to extend better content with higher
resolution and graphics.
Conversion:
To further differentiate from its competition, Microsoft used hard disks while its competition, Sony
and Nintendo, used CD ROMS, providing Microsoft better device

An Autosomal Dominant Disorder
Recurrent epistaxis is one of the diagnostic criteria for Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia
(HHT). HHT is an autosomal dominant disorder that is also depicted by skin and mucosal
telangiectasias. Feared complications of HHT include rupture of pulmonary or cerebral
arteriovenous malformations (AVM). The etiology of HHT is most often due to genetic mutations
that impair normal angiogenesis. We report a case of suspected HHT in a 49 year old female, with
a first degree relative with HHT, and a history of recurrent epistaxis status post coiling of left and
right internal maxillary arteries. Of special note, her initial hemoglobinlevel was 1.7, but she was
alert and walking at triage. Her presentation was consistent with multiple prior admissions in the past
three years. Patients with suspected hereditary telangiectasia should receive a comprehensive work
up, including serum studies, imaging, and possibly genetic testing. Treatment should focus on both
acute management of the bleed and prevention of future complications.
Introduction:
Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, or Osler Weber Rendu syndrome, is an autosomal dominant
disorder characterized by recurrent epistaxis and small arteriovenous malformations known as
telangiectasias . Telangiectasias can rupture with minimal or no trauma, and resultant bleeds can be
difficult to manage. The epistaxis can lead to chronic anemia in a small set of afflicted patients. The
estimated prevalence of HTT is estimated to be one

A way that the tribes overcame this issue was by setting up different points and each drummer
would acknowledge the sender s message by a series of beats on the drum. After the message was
confirmed received then the message would be sent to the next receiver.
In the times of the American Indians, the tribes would use smoke signals as a form of wireless
communication. The downside to this form of communication was the limited distance based on
line of sight. Due to a limited alphabet and the issues, that the wind causes would increase the
chances that the communication would be lost or misinterpreted. Soon followed was the
introduction of the semaphore flag. The semaphore flag system is one used to convey information
at a distance by using signals with flags, paddles or gloved hands. The downside to this form of
wireless communication is that it is limited to line of sight as well, and that because this had to take
place in the open the chances of your message being stolen is increased.
Science that Drove Wireless Development
(Wenclewicz)
In the nineteenth century, light beams were used for short haul communications, particularly in
military contexts. Very detailed messages could be transmitted by a coded sequence (Morse code)
of blinking lights from sender to receiver. Again, this was effective over limited distances and
provided a quiet, yet visible means of communication. Drawbacks included limited
Year-Round School System
One of the key fundamentals in the daily life of an individual is education, most of the achievements
that have been made are because of knowledge that was gained through education. It is also known
that through education, one gets empowered to do many things so that he or she can become
successful in life. Because of these, schoolsystems are seen to be important in our society. There have
been suggestions to change the current educationsystem to a year round schoolsystem. It means that
the learners will have at most one month vacation instead of the two to three months vacation
that is provided by the current system. A year round schooling system is a bad idea because of
the pedagogical or educational reasons, economic reasons, and the social reasons. Having a year
round school system will cost more. The learners will not have a chance to look for summer jobs,
some of the students depend on these jobs to meet their financial needs. Many students take up
summer jobs so that they can save money to use in school or pay up for services that they need.
Such a system will also cost the parents and guardians more; they should pay more fees in school
so that the children can be kept in school longer. They also should give their children money for

The burnout will not only be caused by the long working hours of teachers and students learning
time but also the depression and cynicism that is brought by lack of control in carrying out work
(Rouse et al. 304). One of the reasons that a year round system was suggested was to improve the
education standards. It means that the students and teachers will have to work more than they have
been working, this is a bad idea as it will cause burnouts that will lead to chronic stress, ill health, and
unhappiness in both teachers and students which will be quite difficult to deal with. Eventually, the
education levels might become worse than they are
