Knights In The Middle Ages
In the middle ages being a knight was a great honor and it was also a great title. On the other side
of the social classes there were the peasants they had little to nothing, anything they had was never
that nice. They usually barely had enough food to live on and linen scraps for clothes. As the
knights had nice clothes and were treated with respect they even dined with the king if they did
something werth the kings time. The king was usually nice to his knights but the knights were
always disrespectful towards the king. While if the peasants did something to disrespect the king
they would be in a lot of trouble. The knights were never nice to the peasants they would be very
rude if they couldn t get the taxes from the peasants. This is the
Texas County Government System
During the early days of the Texas government system, many districts were divided into counties and
cities. In those two entities, there are general purpose local governments and special purpose
governments, each with their own regions and responsibilities.
Because of the size of Texas, many rural areas rely on the local county government to conduct
political business. Texas has the largest number of counties compared to all the other states; 254 in
total. Before vehicles, many Texans had to travel to the capital to conduct state business. Therefore,
it was important to establish some form of local government system for the people who lived further
from the city to be able to have access to the government. Even today, many county courts conduct ...

This can cause two different effects for the various positions within the government; it allows normal
citizens to contribute and possibly be rewarded with a job within the local government (pluralism), or
it allows unqualified people to attain jobs based on who they know or how much they gave during
the campaign (elitism).
The city government is like the county government in the respects that it has a municipal home rule
form of government to allow cities whose populations are over 5,000 to develop their own charter.
They also have extraterritorial jurisdiction and annexation forms of government. These last two
forms of government allow cities to control development and other aspects of things beyond their
city limits.
Many municipals (self governed cities) are divided into three separate types of governments:
Mayor Council, Commission, and Council Manager. The Council Manager form is generally used
in larger cities and consists of a council of five to fifteen members, elected by districts, and a mayor
who is elected by the council and is responsible for multiple city managers to implement the various
policies.
The Mayor Council form is of similar structure to the Council Manager form except
We Are All Familiar With Bible Stories And Fairy Tales
We are all familiar with Bible stories and fairy tales. They typically began as verbal stories, passed
down from generation to generation, before they were put down on paper or made into a film.
Stories which use outlandish situations to, ideally, teach the readers how to live as good people.
Stories such as Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Jonah and the Whale, Noah s Ark,
Hansel and Gretel, and The Adventures of Pinocchio include situations which could not have
possibly happened. These stories may help lull children to sleep but, at the same time, teach morals
in a harsh or even violent manner. Like fairy tales, the Biblewas written to teach stories to
impressionable minds. Unlike fairy tales, Bible stories are still read today, they are not only read
by children, but by adults with or without children. Many Christians today will argue that the
Bible stories, such as Jonah and the Whale, Noah s Ark, Adam and Eve, and such, were not
written to take literally. If they are correct in assuming those stories are not literal encounters,
then how would someone venturing through the bible know what to take literally and what to
take as the word of God? If the stories of the Bible were never meant to be accepted as real events,
then can they be considered fairy tales? If all stories in the bible are, in fact, the word of God and
meant to be taken literal, then scientists need to re evaluate almost everything they know about the
world and how it works. It is
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Living With Parents
The majority of teenagers for years dream about the day they finally get to move out of their parents
home and start living independently. Suddenly when it s time to move out and live on their own it
becomes overwhelming. Most teenagers think they are ready to take on the responsibility of living
independently but when reality sets in, they realize that providing for themselves is surprisingly
more difficult than living with their family. Living alone and living with family has its own
advantages and disadvantages which include the amount of responsibilities, freedom and financial
stability an individual has.

When living with your parents, everything is prepared for you. The responsibilities a teenager is
given are based on the parents trying to prepare them for early adulthood. This means sharing
responsibilities that contribute to the house such as chores. For example, today you have to do the
dishes, the next day you have to clean the living room and the bathroom. A disadvantage of living
with your parents would be the amount of freedom you are given. For example, you have a set curfew
time to be home by, and the consequences of arriving late past the curfew time would be a
punishment like getting grounded, no internet for two days, or getting your favorite play system
taken away. You re not allowed to talk on the phone past certain hours and you re not allowed to go
to that concert you ve been waiting to go to because your parents would rather have you stay home.
Review Of The Interlopers
Katelyn Lindsay Mr. Titherley World Literature Honors Period Five 25 September 2017 First Draft
of Interlopers
Blinded by Beliefs Saki, in The Interlopers, says that because our family plays an important role in
who we are, we choose to see only evil in our enemies for the sake of our kin, our blood, until the
threat of death opens us to more options. We choose to imitate certain individuals whose beliefs we
associate with more than others. More likely than not, the individuals we choose to imitate are our
close relatives; they often have a bigger impact on our mentality than someone merely acquainted
with us. Because we are raised with them frequently present in our lives, we tend to inherit the same
qualities and

The beliefs that we adopt, excluding those crafted with a significant purpose in mind, limit our
perspective and blinds us from seeing other possibilities. Once we adopt a vision or belief, whether it
be about a person or event, we tend to refrain from all other perspectives that have the power to
contradict our own. Ulrich and Georg were brought into the feud as enemies at a young age. Even
as boys they had thirsted for one another s blood, and this disposition stuck with them for as men
each prayed that misfortune might fall on the other, (6). Their families view of each other, being
such a prevalent part of their childhood, had influenced them to show the same hatred as well.
Instead of outgrowing the childish behavior they developed by watching their families quarrel, the
men continue to see themselves as enemies, even developing a stronger dislike for them. While
searching the strip of forest for Georg, Ulrich finds himself face to face with the man he sought,
and now they stand, glaring at one another for a long silent moment until they are pinned
underneath a fallen beech tree (7). The men physically see each other, glare at each other, but
neither is given time to speak. Their long silent moment interrupted by a chaotic act of nature leaves
Georg blinded with the blood which trickled across his eyes and

Foreign Policy Dbq Analysis
Foreign Policy DBQ The devastating WWI left a permanent mark on the European soil, as well as
in American people s minds. People now understood what real wars are like; they are not always
honorable, romantic or beneficial. As a result, isolationism ran high as the postwar United States
entered the 1920s. Three presidents, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hooverall
devoted themselves to domestic affairs starting from 1920 while trying their best to keep the country
safe from the European turmoils. However, as the WWII erupted in Europe in the 1930s, president
Franklin D. Rooseveltsensed the potential danger posed by Germany toward the United States. A
series of changes in foreign policies from 1920 through 1941 marked the United... Show more

Roosevelt, unlike the three former presidents, with his solid reputation from his significant New
Deal programs, took a step to reactivate the US role in the world, leading an isolated nation
toward more international affairs. During his first term, FDR s view toward foreign affairs
differed little from the other isolationist presidents. Neutrality Acts were signed by the president,
intending to keep the nation out of war. However, as the war between China and Japan unfolded,
Roosevelt s actions began to be viewed as a violation of strict isolationism; by not invoking the
neutrality law in this case, he had made a favorable situation for China since munitions to China
continued to flourish. Although identified with one of those seeking peace, Roosevelt s isolationist
mind was challenged by the German occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1939, which revealed the
nature of Hitler to him―an international gangster who willed war on the world and therefore had
to be stopped. Having realized this, Roosevelt went to the Congress and asked for permission to sell
arms to the Allies, which did not work. THe president later went on to ask for an amendment to the
Neutrality Acts, which he regretted signing; as a result, Britain and France were allowed to send
freighters to the US and purchase whatever they needed under the Neutrality Act of 1939. At this
time the national sentiment is no longer total isolationism, for the people had realized, as the

School Board Meeting Report
The school board meeting went a lot quicker than I was expecting it to. The members sped through
many of the discussion topics they had for the day. Speaking of members, the members that attended
the meeting were Mike Calhoon, Scott Meiners, Rusty Blare, Steve Kubik, Bill Mann, Nelle
Schlomer. The member who wasn t attending the meeting was Joe Hockett. I thought the school
board meeting went about as well as it could have.

One of the speakers at the school board meeting was Laura Root. Her job was to name all of the
funds spent and made by the school district, which took longer than most other things that happened
during the meeting. Dan Aaker mentioned all the sports teams and how they did to the board, and
addressed the fact that the football team is getting new white jerseys. Brian Naasz talked about the
elementary school and about adding a shower to it for handicapped students. Gerald Witte talked
about the high school; mentioning the upcoming prom. The board later approved a calendar and
acknowledged resignations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One is Mr. Dan Aaker mentioning our sports teams. Another good thing is the fact that Mr. Aaker
took time out of his announcements to talk about our fine arts, such and band and choir. He didn t
need to do this, but I am happy he did because I feel like the band and choir don t get recognized
by the school as much as they should. I think Mike Calhoon is very good at his job. He speaks clear
enough to hear, impartial, and let discussions happen without putting his own input in too much. The
board did as much as they could have in the time allowed, because they passed every single motion
that was implemented. They also worked quick enough to end the meeting
A Large Right Whale On Tohunga Beach
A large right whale was stranded on Tohunga Beach. Efforts to save it by volunteers from Project
Jonah were unsuccessful. The Tohunga Council wanted to get rid of the corpse as it was starting to
smell and the tourist season was approaching. Preliminary investigations proved that towing the
whale out to sea was impractical, given its size and weight. After some discussion the council
decided to blow it up with explosives and rely on the tide to remove the pieces of whale.

Enola Gay was contracted by the Council to do the job. Enola obtained all the necessary clearances
required under the Resource Management Act and the consent of the Department of Conservation.

The probability of harm is high, because generally explosions are considered to be dangerous in
many situations, especially exploding a whale where Enola has no previous experience. He is

higher standard of care is expected from Enola because he does not know what might happen if he

public would be safe, is not something that a reasonable person who does not have previous
Neuroanatomy Essay
1.How are neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology related to one another? How do they
differ?
Neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology all focus on the function and structure of the
central and peripheral nervous systems. Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology are subdisciplines of
neuroscience. Neurophysiology is focused on how the nervous system structures function whereas
neuroanatomy is focused on the structures of the nervous system. Neurophysiology looks at how the
different parts of the nervous system work alone and together. Neuroanatomy looks at the design of
the nervous system and how different parts work alone and together.

Differential diagnosis can be used to determine if an individual has a language disorder or if the
issue is due to language differences. A language disorder is when there is a noticeable difference
between where a student s language skills are and where they should be depending on the language
development stage. Language disorders can result from heritable language impairment, injuries to
the brain, and developmental disabilities. Language differences are the variations in language
between people. These differences can be a result of different dialects, gender, genetic
predispositions, and language learning environments. Using differential diagnosis will allow a
professional to determine if there is an issue with language differences or if a language disorder is
present. Language differences can be mistaken as a language disorder due to similar symptoms or
features. An example of language differences that are mistaken as a language disorder is when a
student speaks using African American English (AAE) at a public school where Standard American
English (SAE) is used and taught. There are differences between the two languages such as syntax
and semantics but they are both governed by different rules. A teacher might mistake a language
difference for a language disorder based on the differences between the two
Human Nature Of Frankenstein
Up to this day, scientists and theologians still try to figure out the meaning of life and the purpose of
humans, but what about what makes a human, what characteristics and actions define a human?
Stephen Covey states that Every human has four endowments self awareness, conscience,
independent will, and imagination. These give us the ultimate humanfreedom.....The power to
choose, to respond, to change (Stephen Covey). In the book Frankensteinby Mary Shelley, Will
Franz, the monster is essentially more human because he displays the four endowments far more
throughout the book than his creator Victor Frankenstein.
To begin with, Will Franz displays the first endowment, self awareness in a way that is relatable
to many. Upon seeing the De Laceys, Will is astonished by their presence Their grace, beauty...
but how was I terrified when I viewed myself in a transparent pool! When I became fully
convinced that I was, in reality, the monster that I am, I was filled with the bitterest sensations...
(12.13). As humans, it s easy to compare oneself to someone that is perceived to be better than
oneself and although Victor is truly human he tends to display a figure of superiority and tends to
have it all together which in reality no one does. In the quote, we see how Will upon seeing the
beautiful De Laceys instantly looks at his reflection in comparison and is immediately discouraged
at what he sees. Speaking for most people, it doesn t matter how beautiful or graceful one is
Reader Response And A Grain Of Wheat Essay
F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, The reason one writes isn t the fact he wants to say something. He
writes because he has something to say. This quote applies directly to Ngugi Wa Thiong s novel A
Grain of Wheat. One could infer from this quote that some writers write not just for the enjoyment
derived from it, but rather out of a feeling of obligation to let readers hear what they may have to
say. Ngugi s message that he feels obligated to convey is delivered, however, he uses a very unusual
writing technique to arrive there. He wants the readers to understand the pain, suffering, and
confusion that took place during the Emergency. Through jumbled chronological order, numerous
characterand point of view changes, and a powerful... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Part two begins with chapter four, the setting of the book has completely changed. Within this
chapter, the readers start out with another short history lesson that is completely out of context from
the previous reading. Ngugi then shifts to Karanja and his multiple inner battles. The readers are
now left pondering what time period and which characters thoughts they are reading.
The fact that Ngugi begins this novel, and concludes it, after the Emergency without maintaining
chronological sequence is what begins to make this story so unique. Although he is moving across a
vast time period, the chronology is never consistent. He manages to explore a sixty year time
period while remaining focused on the six days leading up to Uhuru. Basically, the readers are
forced to become deadlocked into the book and examine every minute detail that is thrown at
them. If the readers do not do this, then it is most likely that they will miss a key detail in the book
and be confused for the rest of the novel. During Ngugi s chronological jumps throughout the book,
he constantly switches the point of view along with which character the story focuses on. This
forces the readers to go into each chapter reading without knowing who or what is going to come
next. This also forces the readers to pay close attention to every sentence of the book while
maintaining their sanity. This loss of sanity is due to the fact that the readers are
Gender Double Standards For Children
Gender Double Standards for Children in Parenting
According to an analysis done by Seth Stephens Davidowitz, for every ten U.S. google search
requests about males being overweight, there are seventeen searches about girls being overweight,
but in reality, boys are nine percent more probable to being overweight than girls (Gonchar). There
are countless kinds of gender double standards in society, including the standards parents hold their
children to. It is no secret that parents dream for their daughters to be attractive and their sons to be
athletic. How else do these standards become apparent in a child s upbringing? In an investigative
paper, The Gender Double Standards in Parenting Attitudes, Meeso Caponi Ro, William G. Axinn,
and Linda Young DeMarco state, We differentiate dating, sex, and premarital cohabitationfrom
marital and childbearing behavior to investigate differences within the courtship and family
formation domain. (Axinn). There are different standards for boys and girls when it comes down to
relationships and sex as well. Parents tend to be more lenient when it comes to their boy s romantic
relationships and stricter with their daughters. A new study from Netmums reveals that 88 per cent
of mums admitted that they treated their sons and daughters differently despite thinking that this
was wrong. (The Gender). Parents don t want to admit they treat their kids differently, because then
issues of favoritism or unfair treatment can occur, but by human

The defendant did not ask whether the plaintiff was left or right handed, and the plaintiff, not

In the present case, the defendant was certified by the U.S. Fencing Association to provide
instruction in fencing and was to instruct fencing club members in the proper methods of fencing.
These are direct quotes taken from the release form signed by the plaintiff. In signing the
exculpatory clause, plaintiff was to release defendant from any and all claims arising out of student s
participation in fencing club activities. In return, plaintiff was to receive instruction in the proper
methods of fencing. This includes proper instruction in putting on the safety equipment, arguably the
most important aspect of the sport of fencing. The wording any and all claims can be construed as
ambiguous. It would be against public policy to hold valid a claim that released the defendant from
any and all claims arising out of fencing club activities, including claims arising from the defendant s
negligence. The plaintiff signed the exculpatory clause releasing the defendant from
