The Killer Angels Mine eyes have seen the glory . . . The spy was the first to see the Union army
march through the valley. He noted that the army was moving fast and marching in extreme heat.
His intentions now were to return and report this information to the General Robert E. Lee.
Lieutenant General James Longstreet received him back at camp, and the spy let him know of the
information, which he had obtained. Longstreet found it useful information to pass on to Lee. Both
Lee and Longstreet were skeptical of this information, but if the spy was right they would be in
extreme danger. After viewing the map, Lee decided to go ahead and move his army towards

Wednesday, July 1st, 1863 . . . of the coming of the Lord On this morning Lee spoke with
Longstreet, about how he would like for him to stay behind in the battle so that he would not lose
him. Longstreet agreed but also brought notice to Lee about the Union cavalry was already in
Gettysburg. Lee was caught by surprise; being told earlier that only militia was seen there. Lee
reported that it was John Buford, and that infantry was soon to come if the cavalry was already
there. Longstreet thought of taking the defensive end and waiting for Buford to attack. Lee on
the other hand disagreed with the defensive tactic and wanted to attack Buford. Of course Lee
was above Longstreet and would get his way. Buford woke in the morning only to smile and
smirk as he heard General Heth s men trying to put up a fight and take his hill. He was not
worried of Heth, but worried of what was to arrive behind Heth. Buford knew that if Lee were to
arrive and attack, then he would lose the battle and also the hill on which he stood. Major General
Reynolds arrived shortly after the battles that were going on that morning. Buford was very glad to
see him and his infantry. Later that day in another short battle, Buford caught a glimpse of Reynolds
as he rode into battle, only to later turn and see Reynolds dead on the ground. The battle still

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born on January 27, 1756, in Salzburg, Austria. He was born to
an overbearing and ambitious father, Leopold, who was more than anxious to exploit his son s
extraordinary musical gifts. Mozart began composing at an early age, and he began touring around
the same time. Throughout his life, Mozart made many enemies, many his own fault, through his
naive arrogance and harsh critique of his musical contemporaries. He worked feverishly,
composing symphonies and operas, as well as touring constantly. Mozart died of overwork and
kidney failure on the 5th of December 1791 while still ironically at work on the Requiem Mass for
an unknown patron. Though he lived for a relatively short time, ... Show more content on

Emmanuel Krivine conducted the performance, with featured soloists Joshua Bell (Vieuxtemps violin
concerto) and Stewart Goodyear (Mozart piano concerto). A full orchestra performed the symphonies.

Overall, the Mostly Mozart Festival was a tremendously enjoyable experience. The qualities that
define the works of Mozart are often the same as those that are used to describe those of the
classical period of music, from his smooth melodies and flowing rhythm, to his pleasing use of
dynamics to create an atmosphere of complete satisfaction. One of the most defining principles of
the style of Mozart is the connection to nature and God, and the seeming oneness and harmony that
can be achieved simply by listening while the melodies take you to a higher plane of thought.
The most enjoyable piece from the performance was Allegro, from Mozart s Concerto in Dm. There
are simply not enough words in the English vocabulary to describe how eloquently crafted and
rhythmically shaped this piece is. One of the most outstanding elements of this piece is the harmony
created between the piano and the strings as they accompany each other with seeming flawlessness.
The resulting experience is exhilarating to say the least. Accentuating the piece even more was the
performance by the virtuoso pianist, Stewart Goodyear. Although still in his early twenties, this

ABSTRACT: The big data refers to the large scale distributed data processing applications which
work on exceptionally large amounts of data like twitter data. Google s MapReduce and Apache s
Hadoop, its open source implementation, are the software systems for big data applications. An
observation of the MapReduce framework is that the framework generates a large amount of
intermediate data whenever it analysis the twitter data from twitter server. MapReduce is unable to
utilize such data so they are thrown after used. We propose a Twiche framework used for big data
applications. In our system, tasks submit their intermediate results to the cache manager and queries
the cache manager before executing the actual computing work. A novel cache description system
and a cache request and reply protocol are designed.

KEYWORDS: MapReduce, Twiche, Twitter, Big Data, Hadoop,Flume.

The Dangers Of Complacency In The Military
The Dangers of Complacency Complacency is a common theme throughout life whether it be
civilian or military. Merriam Webster defines complacency as a feeling of being satisfied with
how things are and not wanting to try to make them better: a complacent feeling or condition
(Merriam Webster s online dictionary, n.d.). This state or feeling can be as simple as wanting to
maintain the status quo. While it is important in civilian careers to battle complacency, it is of the
utmost important to remain vigilant against complacency for military members because so many
lives are at stake. This is why it is important for military members, not just leaders, to identify the
dangers of and the ever growing status of complacency while implementing strategies to prevent
and correct complacency. Complacency Causes Facing the Army One of the most frequent causes
of complacency is over confidence. This can be seen in individuals and units after becoming
comfortable with the operational tempo. One way this is manifested is by skipping Pre Combat
Checks (PCCs) and Pre Combat Inspections (PCIs) because everyone is experienced and gear no

Standards are the first line defense and when followed will ensure that individuals and units are
capable and prepared to function in the rigors of combat. Moreover, keeping Soldiers proactively
engaged can reduce complacency. Too much down time commonly results in not wanting to do
anything. By keeping Soldiers active and engaged with the unit, Soldiers remain motivated and goal
oriented. Finally, it is imperative to continue training. This includes conducting refresher training to
ensure skills are always fresh, but also conducting training that focuses on new or unexpected events.
This type of training encourages individuals and units to constantly prepare for the unexpected and
never settle for what seems adequate at the

Family The Taino Indians had sturdy familial ties and related families lived together. They lived
in very organized kingdoms and small villages, their order was decided by the chiefs. The Taino s
appearance was bronze colored, average height, dark, flowing coarse hair, and dark and slightly
oblique dark eyes. The men were typically naked or sported a breech cloth called nagua. Single
women walked around naked, while married women wore an apron made of cotton or palm
fibers to cover their genitalia. The length of the apron determined their rank size. The Taino
culture was a polygamous one. The male cacique as the leader was permitted to have more wives
than the other men in the villages. A woman whom was married to a cacique was considered a
great honor. Church Among the Taino community, there was a hierarchy of creators. The Yocahu
was the highest creator. Jurakan was constantly angry and governed the power of the hurricane.
Other Gods were the Zemi and Maboya. The Zemis was a God of both sexes and it was
characterized by images of human and animal figures. The Taino s thought that by being in the
good graces of their zemis, they were sheltered from disease, hurricanes, or war disasters. As an
offering, they would prepared cassava bread. The Maboyas were nocturnal Gods that ruined crops
and were feared among the Tainos. Thus, they offered detailed contributions to satisfy him. Polity
A Large Right Whale On Tohunga Beach
A large right whale was stranded on Tohunga Beach. Efforts to save it by volunteers from Project
Jonah were unsuccessful. The Tohunga Council wanted to get rid of the corpse as it was starting to
smell and the tourist season was approaching. Preliminary investigations proved that towing the
whale out to sea was impractical, given its size and weight. After some discussion the council
decided to blow it up with explosives and rely on the tide to remove the pieces of whale.

Enola Gay was contracted by the Council to do the job. Enola obtained all the necessary clearances

willing to take a high risk in return for higher profit margin. When probability of harm is high,
higher standard of care is expected from Enola because he does not know what might happen if he

public would be safe, is not something that a reasonable person who does not have previous
If I Wanted A Real World Experience As A Planner
If I wanted a real world experience as a planner, then I certainly received it at this hearing. I can
honestly say that I don t envy the Board of Zoning Adjustments. This was the most difficult and
complicated hearing we had in class and I believe everyone rose to the challenge. The amount of
prep work required for all parties greatly increased with this hearingdue to the scientific nature of
the proposal. All groups were sufficiently prepared and performed exceptionally well considering
the difficulty of the case. I am speaking as a BOZA member, but I believe the decision for a
continuancewas the best outcome, taking into account how the hearing played out. The applicants
had a tough job. I commend them for meeting with the community and agreeing to change the
chemicals used in the process to help ease safety concerns. This created a more open dialogue
between the community and the applicant; it allowed the community to truly have their voices
heard with an actual response. This did, however, create a substantial amount of work for the
applicant. Changing the process required a major increase in research in a complicated subject
matter. Having to focus so much on explaining the changed process seemed to consume the vast
majority of their presentation. While correctly explaining it was important, they could ve focused
more on exactly how they were meeting the Land Development Code, Cornerstone 2020 s Goals,
and the Ohio River Master Plan. As board members we just
Brittle Starfish Essay
The Life of a Brittle Starfish

The type of marine organism, which will be reported on within the following text, is the Brittle
Stars. The Brittle Star is also called the serpent star and a common name for a large group of
echinoderms closely related to the starfish. These organisms make up the class Ophiuroidea; another
common name for ophiuroidea is snake stars. These organisms can be found in all oceans but are
more abundant in the Tropics. Brittle stars can come in different colors.

2.0 General Features

Their bodies have a central disk that is demarcated from five arms, unlike true starfish. Their five
arms can be broken off quite easily, but will regenerate themselves. These arms are usually forked
and spiny. The brittle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also have a skeleton composed of numerous plates of calcium carbonate.

2.1 Stereom

The plates that compose brittle starfish, ophiuroids and echinoderms is calcite along with other
organics. Though each plate is a single crystal of calcite, it doesn t take a typical crystalline form.
Below is a picture of the tooth socket, notice the holes.

2.2 Water Vascular System

Perhaps not as obvious is the water vascular system, another trait common to all echinoderms. By
examining the oral underside side of a brittle star, one will be able to see hundreds of tiny feet
usually arranged into several rows on each appendage of the star. These are the tube feet, or
podia, and are filled with seawater in brittle stars. The water vascular system within the body of
this species is also filled with seawater. By expanding and contracting chambers within the water
vascular system, the brittle star can force water into certain tube feet to extend them. The animal
has muscles in the tube feet, which are used to retract them. By expanding and retracting the right
tube feet in the proper order, the creature can walk. Many echinoderms can also form suckers on
the ends of their tube feet. These suckers can be used to capture and hold prey, or to hold onto
rocks in a swift current or tide.

3.0 Habitat

Brittle stars can be found in the warmest and coldest of the world s seas and have a broad
geographic range. Brittle stars can be found at various depths of the
Assignment On The Aspects Of Clinical Decision Making
Assignment #2 Clinical Decision Making According to Mary Gillespie nurses do range of
thinking process before making a decision in the clinical settings. It is subjective and is made on
the basis of data collected by various assessments (Gillespie M. , 2014). This assignment gave us
opportunity to study and analyze a case study where we witnessed the effects of clinical decision
making directly on a patient s health. Through this case scenario we see the main factors that
influenced Kathy s clinical decision making are assessments, personal knowledge, previous
experience, collaborative practice, information from family, and most of all ethics. Paterson s
Frame Work in this Scenario The basic knowledge of the nurse helps her to make positive clinical
decisions, in addition, a nurse remains engaged with both existing knowledge and accruing new
knowledge or skills related to the specific patient or situation (Gillespie M. , 2014). In this
scenario the nurse Kathy shows various aspects of her knowledge and ability as the base of her
clinical decision making. Knowing the Self Knowing the self is about nurse not only know her
skills, strengths, experience, limitations but also believes in influence of her own personal beliefs,
values, assumptions, and perceptions while this guides her in decision making process (Gillespie,
2014). As Kathy reflected and used her experience with her co nurse to effectively communicate
with Mrs. A s daughter who was upset to see her mother s
Why Is Socrates Wrong
Socrates is known as the father of Western philosophy . In his teachings, he encouraged people to
question life and not listen to what they were told. He inspired people to search for answers, and
reject popular beliefs. As a result, Socrates was brought to trial by the dikasts (male jurors) on two
charges. Socrateshad three premises that all led to the conclusion of him not being innocent and the
charges being false.
First, Socrates defended himself against the charge of corrupting the youth in Athens. Socrates
explained that he would be also be harming himself if he was intentionally corrupting the youth.
Socrates was surrounding himself with people who would follow his beliefs, not people he was
trying to corrupt. In the bible it says, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His father was Sophroniscus who was a stone mason. Socrates learned from his father while
receiving a basic Greek education. After working for his father for a few years he pursued
philosophy. Socrates s married Xanthippe and they had three sons together. Socrates cared more
about the youth of Athens s than his own sons. This shows that Socrates was not devoted to his
family, but cared about his teachings. This also proves that Socrates was not committing a crime, but
doing what he felt was his calling.
It is impossible to claim that Socrates is guilty of the crimes he was charged with. Socrates did not
act intentionally. He thought he was doing what he was called to do and felt he was inspiring
people to think in a new way. His teachings go against the norm which many people did not agree
with.
Socrates accepted his punishment of a death sentence (drinking hemlock) since he knew he died a
hero. He showed no remorse for his actions, but instead mocked the jurors after he was sentenced.
This shows that Socrates knew his punishment was a joke since he committed no crime. Socrates
believed, even before he died that he did the right thing by speaking out against the authority. Plato
said, Such was the end of our friend, a man, I think, who was the wisest and justest, and the best
man I have ever known (Phaedo,
