Sex in the City by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo Essay
I bought this book when I was in class 8th and had an enormous crush on a guy who liked by then
best friend. I loved the book so much that I recommended it to and even passed around my copy
to help those who weren t sure as to what was going on in their lives. Yes, I bought the book. I was
14 then. The book was intended to empower girls to stop waiting for disinterested guys. And it did
emancipate the 14years old me from the unending pain! I realized that if a guy liked me, he would
make it obvious by telling me so, calling me regularly, taking me out, etc. and if he does not do all
this, he is not interested in me. My world was suddenly black and white.
Today, I am 21years old and I can say without any second thoughts, I don t need to ... Show more

They say so because although it seems that the guy gave the girl the control of the situation, in
reality of the authors world, this means that HE gets to choose whether to pick up her call or not.
However on planet Earth, the girl could have just called to fix a date.
And then there were dodgy suggestions like how a woman should never ever ask a man out because
men are conditioned to lead. The guy could be as unsure of your feelings as you are of his, or he
could be shy! I say WHY NOT ask a man out!
Many women play the martyr in relationships with men who don t treat them well because many
women feel so devoted to their partners that they are afraid of losing them. They sometimes delude
themselves with fantasies about why the partner still loves them despite all the signs pointing
otherwise. This isn t gender specific! Guys are just as delusional as women when in love! They too
would try to save the relationship by playing the martyr .
Real life is not so black and white, and this highly sexist, misogynistic book assumes that it is.
Unluckily, relationships are perilously perched in the grey and that s what makes them hard and
complicated. We are humans after all. We hurt and shape each other all the time. It is unfair to hold
men responsible for initiating all hetero relationships, casual or serious. Men are equally affected by
work pressure, family environment and heartbreaks!

Why I Want To Work On My Bachelor s Degree
My plan right now is to work on my bachelor s degree. That is the first priority in my life. Currently
I am an E 5 in the Navy. I have a year left at my current command. I have a goal to finish my
bachelors in the next two and a half years. I have a year left on my current contract now. In the
service, we call the number of years we have enlisted for contracts. I signed up for 3 years and
February of 2017 my contract will be up. I plan on reenlisting for another 3 years to finish up my
degree and save more money. My job I am doing right now involves Intel. I have been doing this
for the past 6 years that I have been in the Navy. I am currently trying to rerate. Rating in the
service is what we call our jobs. Each branch of the service has a different name for it but the navy

I am trying to rerate to become a paralegal. Law and legal work seems more interesting to me
while I am in the service and is a better fit for me then being in the intel community. I know that I
would enjoy it more being involved with people and learning about the laws of the military. If I
cannot get another job while I am in the service I still plan on re enlisting for another 2 to 3 years
anyway. I want to get my bachelor degree in Management Information Systems. I love the
combination of Business and Information Systems and I feel that will be more competitive in
the civilian world if I have a mixture of both fields. My plan is not to stay in the service for 20
years. I really find business to be fascinating. Business is a field that is constantly changing, things
are being created, its fast paced, and in constant motion. The service can be stifling. My intentions
were to only due a 4 year tour however, I did not want to get out of the service without my degree.
It wasn t until recently I figured out what I wanted to do for college. I reenlisted for another 3

Identifying Symbols Using Foster s teachings
Using Foster s How to Read Literature like a Professor Friendly Beasts in Undertale. In the book
How to Read Literature like a Professor by Thomas Foster the reader is taught to examine texts in
order to find additional meaning. In any text, one can find symbols to better identify meaning.
Text can be a movie, book, game, or anything that tells a story. Symbols are tools an author uses so
a reader can analyze a text to gain a greater understanding of of characters, messages, events, or even
the story itself. One example of a symbol is a friendly beast. A friendly beast is a character archetype
when something, often an animal, helps a hero advance in his quest. One text where this symbol is ...

In the short time the player sees this character at the beginning of the text she assist Frisk in
learning how to deal with the many hardships that the child will run into in its perilous quest. She
attempts to prevent our hero from continuing out into what beyond her home as the path leads to
an almost certain death. However, she inadvertently prepared Frisk for his advent to the monster
world by leaving the child alone to let the hero s curiosity wonder about, teaching Frisk to solve
problems.Without her the story would have ended with the child and its quest being smote
before it even began. This section almost served as a prologue, preparing the player for the road
to come. She helped the character see that not all monsters are evil, and that they all are free
thinking and can be spared. This lesson opens up the story and the character s choice to befriend or
to betray. After parting ways with Toriel, the next helpful monster our character runs into is a
Skeleton named Papyrus. Papyrus is a funny character with little common sense. He desires to be in
the royal guard and to have friends, but struggles with hurting anyone. He is strong, but in the end
he cannot bring himself to hurt the hero and ends up befriending Frisk. He encourages the
protagonist and assists in bringing the child closer to other monsters and drives the plot forward. He
warns it and attempts to help the hero in avoiding a
The Biafra Election In Nigeria
With the upcoming governorship election on November the 18th in Anambra State, South East
Nigeria, renewed international attention has been given to the unsolved Biafra question . In fact,
actors from separatist movements such as IPOB and MOSSOB clearly stated that they will proceed
with a boycott of the elections as a response to the refusal of the Federal Government of Nigeriato
hold a referendum for Biafrarestoration before then. Supporters of the referendum claim that the
Muhammadu Buhari Presidency is failing to address the self determination request of the Igbo
population in the South Eastern area of the State, bringing about new tensions in the area. Moreover,

The movement in fact exploits ethnic categories constructed ad hoc by British colonialism to
dismiss the Nigerian state as the sole provider of security, law and order and as the creator of social
norms and values regulating day to day life in the country. In practice, since 2000, MASSOB has
embarked on various forms of civil disobedience in an effort to dismantle every infrastructure that
supports the Nigerian government in the region. Boycotting the upcoming election in Anambra state
therefore represents an attempt to assert the Biafra s quest for self determination.
Nonetheless, when it comes to analysing the identity claims of the pro Biafra movement, it is
difficult to discern how far the construction of narratives has undergone while trying to transcend
the existence of the Nigerian state. In doing so, the movements frame Igbo origins in a way that
historically correspond to present day Igboland. In fact, MASSOB not only traces the origins of
Biafra back to Judeo Christian traditions and history by invoking biblical examples such as David
and the Goliath, but it also depicts Igbo speaking people as the Jews of Africa . This narrative stem
from the myth of Nri, king of Eri, popularly described as the founding father of the

Blade Runner And Frankenstein Similarities
Frankenstein and Blade Runner are similar in very many ways and have very few differences,
scientists creating monsters, then becoming too powerful and intelligent always makes for a good
movie. Victor starts to sew body parts together and creates a monster and names him Frankenstein, an
8 foot tall monster that is able to learn. Throughout the film Victor mistreats the Monster and Victor
acted like he was god, and Frankensteinbecame too strong and knowledgeable and tried to kill
Victor, prior to that Victor wanted Frankenstein to be a slave for him. In the Frankenstein film,
society is alright, it s not ideal and has many problems but people have jobs. There are no cops, but
the world is ugly and there s parts of corpses everywhere. Frankenstein
Argumentative Essay On Survivor Tsunami
On paper, survivor guilt seems to be a completely irrational concept. Why should you feel guilty if
someone died and you survived if you had absolutely nothing to do with their death, or if you tried
to save someone s life but you physically couldn t? Without context, it almost seems silly.
However, in the real world, people will form strong emotional bonds with each other and will feel
responsible for their friends and family if all goes wrong, even if you had nothing to do with what
has occurred. Similarly, if someone you have strong emotional connections with dies from an
incident and you do, the resulting regret, grief, and guiltis known as survivor guilt. In The Seventh
Man by Haruki Murakami, a tsunami strikes the narrator s hometown, during which he and his
friend K., while in the tranquil eye of the storm, go to the beach they spend lots of time together
to assess the damage from the first half of the storm. While there, a loud noise is heard by the
narrator, and sees a gargantuan wave speeding toward the shore, and tries to pry K. out of the path
of destruction, alas, he was too invested in an object upon the sand. The narrator speeds away from
the wave in an attempt to save his own life, and soon sees K. inside the second wave after being
swept away in the first. Throughout the rest of the narrator s life, he deals with horrible nightmares
and a guilty conscience as a consequence of his traumatic childhood event and tries to rid himself of
this pain, eventually
U.s. Trade Patterns The Choice Of Trade
U.S. trade patterns are an important topic of study due to America s power and central position in
the international market. This topic of US trade partners and our trading patterns with those
partners has been approached from a variety of perspectives by several economists. Namely,
Sattinger (1978), Srivastava and Green (1986), Summary (1989), and Pollins (1989a and 1989b).
The literature draws many conclusions from American competitiveness and the political and social
factors that help explain bilateral trade patterns the choice of trade partners. And while there is an
abundance of literature concerning this topic there has been little done from the perspective of how
America s trade partners have developed and shifted over the last 25 years, which is what this paper
will focus on achieving. International tradeflows are also an important topic and have been estimated
by many economists including, Tinbergen (1962), Anderson (1979), Helpman and Krugman (1985),
Helpman (1987), Feenstra (2002), and Anderson and van Wincoop (2003). Each of these researchers
used a variant of the gravity model to estimate trade flows which not only demonstrates the
continuing empirical validity of the model but gives firm background with which to base this
analysis. The basic gravity model states that the volume of trade between two countries is
proportional to the size of the two economies, and various measures of trade resistance such as
geographical distance between the countries,
America s Immigration System Is Broken
IMMIGRATION: Immigration is the movement of people into another country or region to which
they are not native in order to settle there, especially as permanent residents or future citizens.
Immigrants are motivated to leave their countries for a variety of reasons, including a desire for
economic prosperity, political issues, family reunification, escaping conflict or natural disaster, or
simply the wish to change one s surroundings.
Together we can build a fair, effective and common sense immigration system that lives up to our
heritage as a nation of laws and a nation of immigrants. Barak Obama
America s immigration system is broken. Too many employers game the system by hiring
undocumented workers and there are 11 million people living in the shadows. Neither is good for
the economy or the country.
The President s plan builds a smart, effective immigration system that continues efforts to secure our
borders and cracks down on employers who hire undocumented immigrants. It s a plan that requires
anyone who s undocumented to get right with the law by paying their taxes and a penalty, learning
English, and
Under going background checks before they can be eligible to earn citizenship. It requires every
business and every worker to play by the same set of rules.
Rosa Fernandez is 35 years old and she is an engineer.
According to Rosa; Immigrants are not criminals; all immigrants have one reason to be here. Their
biggest dream is to have a better future for
Rand Kelly Bushranger
Ned kelly was a bushranger who created his own metal armor. He went around stealing people s
money and other possessions. He would threaten people with a gun and say I am Ned Kelly , he
was a wanted man. None of the police officers could catch him. He did this all for revenge.
When he was a boy, living with his family, his father was working hard to create a living but could
not earn enough money to buy food for his big family. One day he decided to try and steal food for
his family but the police caught him. He was sentenced to 6 months hard labour as a convict. While
his father was being arrested Ned Kelly stood watching. This was the second time he had attempted
to steal. While Ned Kelly s father was away Ned decided to take charge and become the man of the
house.
One day Ned was walking down the street when he noticed a boy drop his hat in the river and jump
in after it. He was being taken by a current and screaming for help so Ned jumped in after him and
saved his life. Ned was known as a hero. When his father got back he was very proud but was not the
man he used to be. He d become an alcoholic and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He fled and hid in the Australian bush. There was a search for him and when Ned Kelly saw two
officers he jumped out of the bush and said put your hands up . One of them did, but the other
tried to shoot Ned. He missed, but when Ned shot back he doesn t miss. This was the first time
Ned ever killed anyone, later he shot two more officers. He was no longer in the Greta Mob gang,
he was in the Kelly gang. He had a master plan, but he was betrayed by a friend who told the police
everything. It all came down to a shoot out, but Ned Kelly did not win, even though he was
wearing metal armour. He was shot in the leg and taken to court were he was sentenced to be
hung. On the 11th of November Ned Kelly was hung, and his last words were such is life . This
was the story Ned wanted everyone to
Analysis Of I M Not Ashamed
I m Not Ashamed, a true story based on the life of teenage Christian student Rachel Joy Scott who
was killed in 1999 Columbine high school shooting, is set to release this month. Scott, played by
Duck Dynasty s Sadie Robertson, was asked about her Christian faith just before she was killed
by shooter Eric Harris. She was 17 years old at the time. Harris asked her if she still believed in
God. When she replied affirmatively, the gunman said, then go be with him, before fatally
shooting her in the head. On April 20, 1999, Harris and Dylan Klebold, killed twelve students
before taking their own lives. The film, which releases on October 21, takes its course from Scott s
diaries, in which she also wrote about wanting to be more open about
The Importance Of The Pyramid Of Giza
The pyramid of Giza construction was created during the old kingdom. This majestic structure
signified the role that gods, and kings played in Egypt. The Egyptians had a meaning for all items
example jewelry, art, and obituary rituals. Building this pyramid was no exception to have meaning
in its structure. In building the pyramidof Giza the sides are smooth and angled to embody the
emissions from the sun this was believed to aid the king in his voyage to the afterlife. This
pyramid was built as a tomb to hold the remains of the king once he died. Similarly, to numerous
royals tombs this pyramid has extravagant paintings and had offerings to the gods to help ease the
transition from life to death. The Solar temple is located on the shores of Abusir lake. The solar
temple was discovered during the time of 1898 to 1901 by Heinrich Schaeffer and Ludwig
Borchardt. The Solar temple of Niuserre if we currently view this temple isn t as striking as the
pyramid of Giza. Nonetheless, the significance of this structure lies within. This temple is
rectangular in design it was created to be aligned with the focal point of the piece which was the
compass in the center of the courtyard. In the center of the courtyard their lays an alter this alter
has an upper block that is round this could be the symbol for the sun god Ra. The lower blocks it
is my view that these would be used for animal sacrifices for the god. We can view this type of
practicing as pagan, however to the Egyptians,
Fosh Week Research Paper
Last week, my residence had a meeting where 200 plus people squeezed into a somewhat small
room to be officially welcomed to our new home for the next year. Warnings and introductions
were given by the floor fellows as well as directors of the building. The energy in the level went
from a six to zero in the matter of minutes. The slightly glazed eyes of the people around me
signalled that everyone was indeed... bored out of their minds. However, the slight mention of
alcohol ignited spark in the room once more as the ears of everyone in the room perked up just a
little. Cheers erupted around me when we were told that, yes, we were allowed to drink inside
residence as long as we are of age. Frosh week is supposed to be a time of making new connections.
Imagine yourself skipping around campus arms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reality, most people at frosh are drunk out of their minds and can t remember most of it. This is
the reason why we are told that, frosh isn t a race, it s a marathon on the first day of orientation.
Now, I honestly don t have anything against people drinking. It is their personal choice and I am
in no position whatsoever to judge other people s decisions as I am prone to making bad ones
myself. However, I am sick of seeing people stumbling around, words slurred, passed out,
throwing up and crying about life after they ve had way too much to drink. Everyone knows their
personal limit. If you don t know, then perhaps it s nice to test the waters before going ham on the
tequila shots. I ve heard a lot of people say that they usually don t drink, but they drink now in
order to have more fun and confidence. Where do we get the idea that we all need to be
intoxicated to have more fun? That is the most bizarre thing I ve ever heard. It fact, it makes me
mad that people truly believe that. When did it become the norm to drink in order to have more fun?
Does this generation not know how to enjoy ourselves without a drink in hand?
