The Discover of Biotin or Vitamin H Essay
Biotin has been discovered in many similar ways which is in fact the reason as to why no one
person can take the full accreditation to its discovery. Biotin is occasionally referred to as Vitamin
H or vitamin B7 (Challem, 2008) , but it was not fully perceived until the 1900s. W. Bateman was a
primary researcher in the discovery of the vitamin and made the most notable contributions to the
findings of biotin. An additional discoverer was a scientist by the name of Fitz Kogl and Paul
Gyrory. The two of them came together and created the name biotin.

The obvious primary sources of biotin in the human diet are meats, such as the kidneys and liver.
Additional sources are cheese, mushrooms, egg yolks, oats, soy, buts, milk and wheat. Biotin ...

The recommended amount of of biotin is 30 mcg a day. Biotin is one of the safest supplements
and has even been given to people in doses of 200 mg. The adequate amounts for digestion from
different ages vary. Infants aging from age 0 to twelve months are recommended to take only 7
micro grams daily. Children from the ages of one to three years, take eight micro grams. Children
from the ages of four to eight are recommended to take twelve micro grams, children between the
ages of nine to thirteen can take twenty micro grams daily, teenagers aging from fourteen to eight
are instructed to take twenty five micro grams, adults over the age of eighteen and women who are
pregnant are advised to take thirty micro grams a day and women who are breast feeding are
instructed to take thirty five micro grams of biotin daily.
Although Biotin is a water soluble vitamin that is a vital component of the four primary carboxylase
enzymes that scientist see in humans. In Japan there was a formula that did not contain sufficient
amounts of biotin for infants. From seeing this, researchers then decided to take their study and
practice on mice and see how they react to the formula that showed that the infants were lacking
biotin from this ketogenic formula. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of
the ketogenic diet on biotin status in mice. Methods: Male mice (N = 32) were divided into the
following groups: control diet group, biotin deficient (BD) diet
Sydney Carton In The Great Gatsby
Sydney Carton age twenty five, is brilliant. He helps one of the most ignorant men in London Mr.
Stryver become the most well known lawyer in his time. So, with looks and brains he should
have everything at his feet. Well, not exactly. Orphaned at a young age, Sydney spent most of his
youth writing homework for his classmates. He spends his adult years being the brains behind Mr.
Stryver. Perhaps part of the reason that Sydney remains so impenetrable is Dickens doesn t give
much to work with. Sydney is unhappy because he thinks that he should be unhappy. Sydney seems
to be a big picture thinker. Sydney may not be the life of the party, but he really becomes devoted
to the things that he cares about. Look at Stryver he is a jerk to Sydney

How Traditional Māori Ethics and Values Have Been Applied in Contemporary Māori Land

Ki te whaiao, ki Te Ao Mārama
To the dawnlight, to the world of light

My understanding of the question is that I am to demonstrate my view of Mātauranga, (traditional

Māori knowledge) and Kaupapa Māori (traditional Māori ethics and values) and how they are
incorporated into today s world. I will be relating my interpretation specifically to sustainable land
development and the principle of Kaitiakitanga, that is, the guardianship of land and the environment
in current times. To accomplish this I shall first present my understanding of Māori World View,
define ethics and values and describe ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In today s world it is also used in conjunction with past, present and future, local as well as
traditional knowledge (Landcare Research, 2014).

The European colonists of New Zealand did not recognise principles of Mātauranga Māori.
However, during the late twentieth century awareness has grown and it has become more recognised
and is now becoming incorporated into today s practices (Landcare Research, 2014).

Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) is a Crown Research Institute that is trying to understand and
incorporate the principles of Mātauranga Māori. They have produced many collaborative research
programmes with Mātauranga Māori woven in. These programmes incorporate Māori values in
relation to land use planning, ecosystems, wetlands, estuary monitoring and restoration. They also
include indigenous forestry and much more, for the purpose of ensuring sustainability for future
generations (Landcare Research, 2014).

The programmes developed have overcome complex and diverse issues using many epistemologies
(multiple philosophies) along with traditional methods to resolve them. Māori world view is that we
as humans are an integral part of the ecosystem which is inherent to whakapapa. This holistic view
often conflicts with scientific views, so the primary concern with these programmes has been to
create frameworks
Anne Moody Coming Of Age In Mississippi
Anne Moody s autobiography, Coming of Age in Mississippi, depicts the various stages of her life
from childhood, to high school, then to college, and ends with her involvement in the Civil Rights
Movement. In the novel, Anne tells the reader her story through events, conversations, and
emotional struggles. The reader can interpret various elements of cultural knowledge that Anne
Moody learned from her family and community as a child. Her understanding of the culture and race
relations of the time period was shaped by many forces. Anne Moody s family, community,
education, interactions with various races, and her experiences outside of her hometown, shaped her
into a devout activist for equal rights. As a child, the most important... Show more content on

Another force that shaped Moody s thoughts on race was her interactions with the whites that she
worked for within her hometown. This started her questioning of why there was such an
emphasis on race. Anne s job description consisted of cooking, cleaning, ironing, and maintaining
houses for whites in her community. With each family Moody worked for, the anger within her
grew and the prejudice toward her also grew. Moody expresses how much she desperately wanted
to understand the racial inequality that was a part of her world. Some of the kind whites
educated her, while others tried to engrain in her mind that she should not try to step out of her
role as an African American. One of the rude white families that she worked for was the Burkes.
Mrs. Burke, an active member in a local Citizens Council and a character that was prejudice
towards blacks, had many encounters with Anne. Anne s interactions with Mrs. Burke make her
question the societal norms between whites and blacks. Mrs. Burke tells Anne how to behave and
all Anne can do is act as if she understands and agrees with what Mrs. Burke says, but inside, all
she can do is question why society is like this. For example, one interaction went like this: When
they had finished and gone to the living room as usual to watch TV, Mrs. Burke called me to

Persuasive Essay On The Human Race
There is only one race under the earth. It is known and called The Human Race. White, Black, and
Brown make the entire human race, and they are called Humans. These humans are separated by
their demography, however, the color of the blood that runs in and through them is RED and no
other color. They breathe the same air, sleep the same way, and in many ways dress alike.
Bigotry, hate, racial discrimination, and or racism of any kind has created more anarchy in the
society as have been witnessed by history. When people, despite their color, the racial background
will stand up against their fellow humans with a deep sense of hate and bigotry, one could only ask,
can such people occupy the face of the earth if they are allowed to live alone? One thing that comes
to mind is ignorance.
On August 12, 2017, we witnessed an event that occurred in Charlottesville, Virginia, on the campus
of the University of Virginia. A group of alt right protesters, white nationalists, Ku Klux Klan
members, Neo Nazis, and other right wing groups clashed with counter protesters who opposed
their positions. The purpose of the rally was to protest and disapprove the elimination of a statue
honoring Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee. The park was formerly known as Lee Park.
The American Constitution allows freedom of speech and assembly, however, the same constitution

from all ages can go in there and have a safe place to relax. During Christmas time, volunteers are
set up in different locations ringing bells for a fundraiser called the Christmas Kettles. Out of a

How Did The Seneca Falls Convention Fueled The Suffrage...
In July 1848 the Seneca Falls convention, the first women s rights convention in the United States, is
what sparked the Suffrage Movement. During the Seneca Falls convention women talked about the
social, civil and religious conditions that women have to deal with. The Suffrage movement is a
group of women that decided to come together and fight for the right to vote. This paper will talk
about what sparked first wave feminism and the events along the way to get where they are today.
The Seneca Falls convention was inspired by the fact that in 1840 at the Anti Slavery Convention the
conference refused to seat Lucretia Mott and other women from America because of their gender.
After that conference Elizabeth Stanton made the Declaration of
The Use Of Force And Gender Symmetry
The findings demonstrate that men commit battering against their current of former female partners
much more often being victims of battering. The findings are consistent with findings from national
crime survey data, revealing that women s use force is often in self defense, retaliation, or to
express anger, stress or frustration, whereas men s use of violenceis often to control and exercise
power over their partners. Thus, the motivation for violence differs between men and women.
Furthermore, the damage caused by women when using force does not equal to that caused by men.
Therefore, gender symmetry does not exist in domestic violence.
Main Findings
Use of Force and Gender Symmetry Gender symmetry in terms of domestic or intimate partner
violence argues that the rates of domestic violence for men and women are equivalent. That is,
women are just as likely as men to be the abuser/assaulter as men. Additionally, women use force
to the same extent as men. In other words, men and women use force equally. Miller argues
otherwise. Miller acknowledges that women do engage in using force, but their use of force is very
different from men s in terms of violence and motivation. She states that there are simply not an
equal number of battered wives and battered husbands. In support of her argument, Miller draws
data from previous research which continuously shows that men use force or threat to instill fear.
They use multiple ways of causing fear in order to gain control of
