The Pros And Cons Of Nonbal Communication
NON VERBAL
Non verbal communication is an essential form of expression; it can support a verbal context or
merely be the only method of relying on an idea or thought. Interpersonal and Group Dynamic
textbook states non verbal communication is the primary way we communicate feelings, attitudes
and emotions (p.159). This manifestation can be transmitted through body language, facial
expression to murmuring, thus understanding this form of communication is crucial since it can
open or close a dialogue. Whereas, someone who is non expressive, or has closed body language,
it can be interpreted to be arrogant or not willing to exchange in a conversation. In this section of
the course, I came to realize my non verbal communication style is both negative and positive. The
negative aspect is my body being restless or closed while distracted by other ... Show more content

This bridging makes it accessible to learn about other cultural communication techniques;
consequently, in this exchange, we should consider different languages, beliefs, cultural upbringing
to effect communication and interpretation. We cannot assume that if we speak English to someone
in which English is not their first language that they would have a clear understanding of certain
words, phrases and perhaps even local slang. We can use the same words, but our interpretation is
subject to our level of comprehension. What we need to consider when speaking to people of
different cultural backgrounds is to remove ourselves away from that perception about the recipient
having the same English knowledge as myself. We should consider the possibility of breaking down
our explanation in more straightforward terms, ask the other person for clarification, if necessary

Bertrand and Cournot Competition Comparison
Industrial Economics: Market Structure Individual Assignment 1

Student Name: Yibo, Shen Student ID: 1051698 Question Number: 1

Within the realm of industrial economics, a central focus is on equilibrium in oligopoly models, and
the questions arise of how the firms would find the equilibrium and whether they will choose it. The
efforts of this essay are devoted to a discussion of Cournot and Bertrand models of competition, two
fundamental single period models that form the basis for multi period models (Friedman, 1977).
Firstly the essay will give an introduction to the properties of the Cournot and Bertrand models of
competition and examine their implications to the relationship between structure and performance.
Then it will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay on Al Capone Biography
When I sell liquor, they call it bootlegging. When my patrons serve it on silver trays on Lake Shore
Drive, they call it hospitality. Al Capone [Woog, 25]
Al Capone was one of the most notorious gangsters during the 1920 s. He was a self made
business man. He had a ready smile and a quick handshake, which if you did not play your cards
right, could turn out to be fatal. It took 500 gangland murders to make Capone the boss of Chicago.
He was public enemy number one. Capone single handedly gave Chicago the nickname The Lawless
City.
Alphonse Capone was born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 17, 1899. He grew up in a very
rough neighborhood and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had everything to do with anything that involved gambling, sex, or alcohol.
Once Capone had everything he wanted in Chicago, he realized he was highly disliked by the
whole country because he began to hear comments on the street and in the newspapers. Although
he often did business with Capone, the mayor William Big Bull Hale Thompson, wanted Capone
out of Chicago because Capone was bad for Thompson s political image. So the mayor hired a new
police chief to run Capone out of the city, and he personally saw Capone out of the city. Capone
looked all over for a new location and he decided to move to an estate in Palm Island, Florida in
1928.
Once Capone was out of the city, attempts on Capone s life were becoming regular but he had
connections with newspapers and policemen so he quickly found out about the plots. He, on the
other hand, was very discrete and clever about his murders. He would always have an alibi, because
he himself would rarely do the murdering.
His most notorious murder was the St. Valentine s Day massacre. On February 14, 1928, four of
Capone s men entered a garage of the Main Liquor warehouse for bootlegger George Bugs Moran
s North Side Gang. When the men entered the garage two of Capone s men were dressed as police
officers and therefore the North Side Gang dropped their weapons. When they did Capone s gang
murdered them
Benefits Of A Low Bodyfat Percentage

Benefits of a Low Bodyfat Percentage
Obesity is ranked second among preventable causes of death. About 70% of American adults are
either overweight or obese. Being obese or overweight puts the host at a higher risk for health
problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and much more (Alonso Alonso). When I found out about
this jaw dropping information, I decided to take action and I made it my goal to maintain a low
body fat percentage over the course of two weeks (I will be sharing my experience further down the
road). Because of an elevated mood, aesthetic improvements, health benefits, and my positive
experience, obtaining low bodyfat percentage is very beneficial.
To begin, having a low bodyfat percentage is beneficial because it has the ability to boost self
esteem. Losing excess weight can make you feel better both physically and emotionally and can
help you live a longer, healthier life (Alonso Alonso). You become a different person physically
and Mentally. Confidence goes over the roof. Everything is mentally achievable (Cooper). This
shows that having a low body fat percentage causes confidence and internal happiness because it
allows the host to feel better about their appearances in turn producing happier and more productive
people, which is a major common problem in modern days. This proves that a low body fat
percentage can benefit a person s mental health in a positive manner.
In addition, low
Amendments of the U.S. Constitution
Amendments of the U.S. Constitution HIS/301 Amendments of the U.S. Constitution The United
States Constitution is a beloved document of this country. In this document many powers, liberties,
and freedoms are given to the citizens of the United States of America. These citizens were first
made up of immigrants or settlers from England who wanted a place to live without fear of death,
and freedom of liberties. The people who made up the first colonies of the America s fought long and
hard through many generations to get to the point they were at writing the Constitution. Though
writing the Constitution was the icing on the cake for those who lived in America and those looking
to live in America, there was a time when the original... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many different practicing religions in America because of the first amendment. The Bill of
Rights also made it possible for a movement to begin that we now call Women s Liberation,
eventually giving women the right to vote. The fact that the right of freedom of speech was a
protected right made it easier for people to speak out about injustices. The civil rights movement was
because of the proposed unconstitutionality of some laws that went against the portion called the Bill
of Rights. The fight for civil rights was won because people knew that the equality of people was not
being met as the Constitution provided for. More than two hundred years later there are still ongoing
effects from the Bill of Rights adoption to the Constitution. Amendments Twelve, Twenty Two, and
Twenty Five To date there are Twenty Seven Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. The three that I
will be addressing here all have to deal with the Presidency of the United States. In the original
Constitutional document the structure of the government was addressed, including the office of the
Presidency. It is assumed by many that any issues with the Presidency would have been addressed
when the Constitution was drafted. The need for amendments was noticed by the drafters of the
Constitution, and no part of the Constitution was without scrutiny, or error. In Article II of the
Constitution it states there is to be a President,

Gandhiji highlighted this truth long ago, when he pointed out that you cannot get American dollars
without American vice. The truth of this statement is brought out by the conditions that prevail in
India today. With the success of its five year plans and the constructive efforts of the government,
there is a marked increase of production and rise in per capital income. There is an all round
increase in affluence and prosperity and with this affluence there is also an increase in crime and
violence.
What is violence against women?
Violence against women and girls is any act of gender based violence that results in, or is likely to
result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women [or girls], including threats
of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private
life. Girls and young women under the age of 18 years are further subject to violence when they
suffer the neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation that is part of the broader
definition of violence against children
Defining Gender Based Abuse:
The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women is the first international human rights
instrument to exclusively and explicitly address the issue of violence against women. It affirms that
the phenomenon violates, impairs or nullifies women s human rights and their exercise of
fundamental freedoms.
The Declaration provides a definition of gender based
Difference Between Language And Language
Dervin (1993) takes a purely theoretical view of difference. She views difference as fundamental and
postulates that language as symbolic product produced by humans whose lives are at least in part
symbolic confounds the differences between humans. Symbolic language also confounds the
differences seen in the intuitions produced by humans. It is her contention that language is the key
to understanding difference. She utilizes Nouns, Verbs and language structure as metaphors for
understanding difference. She posits that when we search for patterns with research tools
deviations from the a pattern constitute difference and that we must then locate that difference into
a conceptual frameworks the most common being culture or agency. For her purposes it is
irrelevant which of the two locations of culture (structure) and agency difference resides in as they
both function in opposition to each other, structure as a static noun and agency as a fluid verb.
This forces what she calls a ricochet from one end of the pole to the other. Dervin creates a new
model in which difference as fluidity (differencing) is set on a continuum with homogeneity
(homogenizing) This process she calls verbing . Verbings are used to bridge a variety of intellectual
gaps not the least of which is the gap between the two seeming dichotomies that seem make us look
for difference in either agency or structure. She posits that the human experience is found where
these extremities meet and verbings help us
A Northern Light By Jennifer Donnelly Analysis
I know it is a bad thing to break a promise, but I think now that it is a worse thing to let a promise
break you. (Donnelly, A Northern Light, 374). The story A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly
talks about a poor, hard working, and determined, sixteen year old girl named Mattie Gokey. One
day while Mattie was working at the Glenmore Hotel she saw a hotel guest sitting on the porch
crying; this guest name was Grace Brown. Mattie asked Grace what s wrong? and Grace gave her
mysterious letters saying burn them. On July 12, 1906, Grace Browns body was found in Big
Moose Lake. Grace was dating a boy named Chester Gillette; whom she hoped to marry. While on a
date in Big Moose Lake with Chester, the boat capsized and Grace drowned. People

report to my DRI, it gave told me the difference between what I should be taking in for nutrients
and what I am taking in. The following will cover the recorder intake of protein, carbohydrates, and
lipids. Track the ranges of macronutrient intake, as well as the fiber intake range.

provided protein were peanut butter, all the meats, protein ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A diet rich in fiber will lower cholesterol levels and lessen the risk for certain cancers, and heart
disease. The fiber containing groups that fell short of the recommended intake were fruits and
vegetables. The amount of fruits I took in was lower than the vegetable intake. The specific foods
that provided the most fiber in my meals were the vegetables and the oatmeal.
Dietary Modifications The changes that I would make to increase the fiber in my diet, would be
to include more fruits and vegetables in my daily intake. The daily recommended intake of fiber
was 21 g. The most fiber I consumed in one day was 15 g. or 73 percent of the recommended daily
intake. I need to consume more fruits and vegetables in an effort to achieve the proper dietary fiber
intake. Macro nutrients, are essential for health, growth, healing, and immune function. Too little or
too much of the macronutrients may result in poor health and a variety of diseases ( Nutrition Md ,
2016).. An example of consuming too much protein, as in animal protein, it could cause kidney
stones, or gout.
Conclusion
After analyzing the three day food intake, I realized that the healthy diet I thought I have

The Whiskey Rebellion
The end of the Revolution was not the end of political turmoil in the United States. In the years
following the Revolution, political parties were forming and disbanding which then led to
rebellions starting. The future of what the country looked like was seen differently by each
political faction. All of the conflicting views of American politics began to manifest into
governmental affairs because of the imposed tax on distilled spirits made by the federal
government to pay off the nation s debts from the American Revolution. This tax was only to be
paid in cash, which was particularly hard on the small frontier farmers because of the fact that they
bartered and did not have access to currency. Protests ran by frontiersmen occurred because... Show

The tax took away much of the farmers income in western Pennsylvania. They relied on whiskey to
make most of their money and that was taken away from them. In today s society, The Affordable
Care Act relates to the Whiskey Rebellion in a way that it benefits a few but hurts the majority.
This act is meant to grant free health care to those who cannot afford it, and although it helps
those who have lost their jobs it gives free health care to some people who have decided to make
bad choices in life and not work for it like others. By forming this act, it has raised taxes over all
for people in America. These relate because the Whiskey Rebellion was formed as a result of the
government taxing whiskey and making people pay this tax in cash. It was hard on farmers
because they did not have access to currency. The Affordable Care Act is taxing everyone to
support those people who have done nothing to benefit their lives and help make them successful
in life. Although both of these points pose as challenges, they did benefit some of the people in the
world. The government s power was tested and they had to see if they would be able to pursue
further and move on from the controversy and they were able to in the
