Barrier Beaches of Long Island, NY Essay
Barrier Beaches of Long Island, NY There are many different types of coasts that exist throughout
the United States. The south shore of Long Island has a unique types of coast known as a barrier
beach. Barrier beaches are long narrow land forms that are composed of sand and other lose
sediments. These sediments are brought together by the actions of waves, currents and storm surges.
Barrier beaches are subject to constant changes by the same forces. Sand is constantly eroded in one
area an deposited in another. Barrier coasts are important for a number of reasons; they protect the
mainland of Long Islandfrom the open ocean and flooding during storms, for recreational use and the
unique ecosystems which exist on barrier... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Long Island is famous for its sandy ocean beaches. Between the barrier beach and the main coast is
the Great South Bay. The beaches and dunes have very different characteristics. The sandy beach is
the junction of land and ocean. The sandy beach consists of two zones, the swash zone and the
drift line. The swash zone is the area of wet sand, caused by the incoming wave. The drift line is
formed by the dead seaweed and other aquatic plants. Behind the sandy beach is the primary dune.
The primary dune s main function is to absorb the force of the ocean and protect the great south
bay and the island s main coast. In some cases secondary dunes form. These dunes are behind the
primary dune and are therefor protected from the ocean. This provides the stability necessary for
plant growth. Many time a maritime forests will form on secondary dunes. Barrier beaches are
not static, they are constantly being changed (Coastal Change ) by the forces that formed them;
waves and wind. One change effecting barrier beaches is they are moving closer to the main
coast. This movement is caused by the rise in sea level. As the sea level rises waves crash higher
and higher upon the beach, as they do this the dunes are pushed back. There are also seasonal
changes in the barrier beaches. During stormy seasons sand is removed from the beach and
deposited off shore on the longshore bar. During calm season waves redeposit sand upon the beach
and the beach grows.
Passover Chapter 19
I agree with the argument (Gaies) that Chapter 16 ( Passover ), rather than Chapter 19 ( The End
of This World Begins Now ), is the dramatic high point of the novel. First of all, we knew there
were some survivors of Lubizec. While the number was incredibly small, we still read the
survivor accounts of Zischer and Damiel. So, the fact that they successfully escaped was not the
most dramatic point for me. If it were not for Chapter 16, Chapter 19 would not have happened the
way it played out. A tipsy Guth and his guards entered Barrack 14 on a January night in 1943. These
men had the audacity to force the Jewish men to show them how they celebrated Passover. The
guards wanted to observe them like pets, turning their sacred holiday into a... Show more content on

Most of the people that entered these camps were dead within an hour after arriving. Since the
number of survivors were next to none, it is hard for us to understand or even put this horror into
words. In this book, Patrick Hicks uses the narrator to point out the inadequacy of language to
represent Lubizec.
Especially throughout chapter two, Life in a Death Camp, the narrator stops to point out the
difficulty of trying to find words to describe this camp entirely. Lubizec was created to kill Jews as
quickly and efficiently as possible. 99 percent of people who entered Lubizec were murdered, and
because of this it is impossible to describe and explain it justice. As the narrator stated, In order to
describe a place we need to talk in terms of presence, but they only way to describe an extermination
camp is through absence . By this he means we can talk about the procedures and daily operations
but we are forgetting the individual lives which were lost. What words could possibly pay
homage to those souls? This is what he wants us to ponder. Sure, we can discuss how men and
women were separated and what they were forced to do, but this is still procedural. Authors could
use the words pain and fear to describe what the Jews were feeling, but do they really have meaning?
The narrator explains how everyone reading the book, with creature comforts surrounding them, can
put it down and forget about Lubizec. These

The Development Of Data Warehouse Essay
3. Traditional ETL process
3.1 Traditional ETL During ETL process, data from many sources will be extracted and integrated
into data warehouse periodically. Extraction is a process to identified and retrieve all relevant data
from the sources. The role of transformation is to cleansing the data and integrated different schema
to defined schema in data warehouse. Meanwhile, loading is a process to physically move the data
from operational system to data warehouse.
3.1.1 ETL Concept
It is necessary to define ETL scope by analyzing each target table (its dimension and facts) at the
beginning of ETL architecture process. It is necessary to fetch the behavior of each target table;
where its source is and what kind of business process that depend on it.
3.1.1.1. Metadata
In the early development of data warehouse, integration is formed by making specific ETL
program for the structure of source database and data warehouse database. As the time passed by,
it is found that those specific ETL programs essentially are doing the same process. Many block
programs are reusable for another ETL process. At this point, ETL tools that can do automated data
integration to data warehouse are developed. To put it briefly, metadata is data about data.
Specially, metadata ETL is data about ETL process. Defining metadata ETL is necessary to build
ETL program with high reusability
.
3.1.1.2. Extraction Extraction identifies all relevant sources, then extract the data as efficiently as
Colonial America Without The Indians Axtell Summary
Native Americans, or Indians, as they were mistakenly called, have been the pathetic footnotes to
the main course of American history (Axtell 981). But James Axtell, the author of Colonial
America without the Indians: Counterfactual Reflections, would beg to differ. He says that
instead, Indians played a key role in making America great. James Murray gives another term to
describe America s greatness: America s exceptionalism. Throughout his article Axtell makes
many points as to why Indians played a vital role in American Exceptionalism . He even says that
America wouldn t have been colonized nearly as soon if the Indians were gone, because Columbus
would know he was not in the Indies and move on. So because they simply existed in the first place,
Axtell says they were significant in the history of our country. Furthermore, he says Indians
specifically played a vital role in the exceptionality of America s early economy, culture, and
historical events and places.
I never thought about how much the Indians contributed to the economy of early colonial America.
However, without the Native Americans There would have been no maize or Indian corn, the staple
crop grown throughout the colonial period to feed people and sometimes fatten livestock for export
(Axtell 988). I believe Mr. Axtell raises an excellent point in this statement. Without the Indians to
teach the early settlers, they would never have survived the harsh winters, and would have starved
and died out very
The Satire Of Comedians Don t Take A Good Look At Social...
Sometimes the truth can hurt, but when it is presented in a way that is humorous the end result can
be much different. Comedians don t start out to change the world, but in the end, that s what they
do, says Stephen Rosenfield. Standup comedians have the ability to force people to take a good
look at social issues by confronting realities that one would prefer to ignore. In fact, they use humor
as a tool to neutralize controversial issues by giving social critiques that can transform in a way
leaving the audience to want for more. Comedians can push the social boundaries with their stories
and expressions that are usually unacceptable in society. The fact that the comedian sugar coats the
issue with humor makes it more acceptable and is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the 9/11 attack, there has been a numerous number of terrorist attacks in America and other
countries. These attacks include, but are not limited to: Fort Hood, Texas where a Muslim
psychiatrist guns down thirteen unarmed soldiers while yelling praises to allah; Boston,
Massachusetts where foreign born and very religious Muslims exploded two bombs packed with
ball bearings at the Marathon, killing three people and causing several others to lose limbs; San
Bernardino, California where a religious Islamic man shot several people at a Christmas party with
his wife, leaving fourteen dead; Orlando, Florida where an Islamic extremist massacres forty nine
people at a gay night club, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida where a man converted to ISIS guns down
five people in the baggage claim area of an airport. While these attacks occurred in the US many
others took place in various countries such as: Paris, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Pakistan,
Indonesia, and Berlin. The character Achmed was created one year after 9/11 and debuted on

United States Air Force Brainpower Analysis
The United States Air Force has secured our country in the air, as well as space through the skills
and talents of the brave Airmen of American. During the Cold War Era, the United States Air Force
assumed control of the Strategic Air Command(SAC), which controlled America s airborne
strategic forces which were the B 29 bomber (Martin, 2015). During 1940, 1950 and,1960 the
Bomber Mafia generals gave way to the Fighter Mafia of the 1970 s and the 1980 s that had a
different mindset that had infiltrated the United StatesAir Force (Martin, 2015). The United Air
Force had to be ready at any given moment to use its nuclear arsenal power, due to the events that
were taking place in Europe, due to the Soviet Unionand, the Middle East (Martin, 2015). Also,
SAC had to be ready to respond to the actions of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republics (USSR)
overseas as well, due the Soviet Union becoming the second nuclear power in the world (Martin,
2015).
The United States Air Force dedicated its brainpower analysis, and ability towards understanding
the USSR (Martin, 2015). President Reagan referred to the USSR as an evil empire (Columbia
Southern University (CSU), n.d.). The Air Force also played a vital role in the growth and use of

Benzocaine Lab Report
Discussion The percent yield for this reaction was 8.9%. The theoretical yield for this experiment
was 5.95 g, but the actual amount obtained was 0.53 g benzocaine. The percent yield was very low
due to inorganic impurities from Na2SO4. These impurities also affected the melting point of the
product received. The resulting benzocaine obtained from experimentation had a melting pointof
188°C, while the theoretical range for benzocaine is between 121°C 123°C. The sodium sulfate
impurities present, resisted melting in the compound.
After the experiment was concluded, the IR and 1H NMR spectra were obtained for 4
aminobenzoic acid and benzocaine. When the spectra were compared, it became clear that a reaction
had occurred, since certain signals

A hospital patient s allergy information is high integrity data a doctor should be able to trust that
the info is correct and current. If a nurse deliberately falsifies the data, the database should be
restored to a trusted basis and the falsified information traced back to the person who did it
There should not be any discrimination through the access to medical information no matters where
the information and data is exists.
Availability:
There should be take care of patients data about what data is relative to which patient.
Doctors or nurses should send appropriate medical detail to an appropriate patient. So no every

Doctors also take care about that which data should be available to whom. In hospitals there are
many different departments so every department have their private access on their department s

The Effect Of Water Ingestion Improved Haemodynamic...
4. Discussion
Previous studies found that water ingestion improved haemodynamic responses to gravitational
stress serving as therapeutic relief against hypotension that can be debilitating for most patients. We
hypothesized due to the fact that vitamin water is hypotonic in nature like water then it is likely to
illicit the OPR to fuel inadequate sympathetic drive and help with symptoms like dizziness upon
standing. However the effect of 500ml of water and vitamin water from the current study did not
entirely agree with the effect of water seen in patients with baroreflex dysfunction or autonomic
failure patients from previous investigations. 500ml of vitamin water had consistently shown a lack
of significant difference in blood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our results showed a significant difference between 50 ml and 500ml of vitamin water at baseline
level in the normal order (n=10) of consumption. The crossover also gave a significantly different
systolic reading (n=8) between 50ml and 500ml of water. This suggests that the average basal
haemodynamic state for the pooled data was different for different experimental runs highlighting
haemodynamic variability.
4.1 Vitamin water composition
Dragonfruit Vitamin water contains predominately 160mg of vitamin C per 500ml as the main
ingredient. There is evidence to show the benefit of vitamin C as adjuvant therapy for the
treatment of hypertension. Doses of vitamin C supplements ranging between 60 400mg were
shown to have a useful role in lowering blood pressure (both SBP and DBP). The corresponding
averages of SBP and DBP were declining after the ingestion of 50ml of vitamin water amongst 10
participants in our pooled data (SBP: 1.40±2.35mmHg, DBP: 0.10±3.85mmHg). Likewise the
same decrease in SBP was evident with 50ml of water, which gave a decrease by 0.90±4.17mmHg.
It may be possible that vitamin C content negated the OPR. Blood pressure changes are sensitive to
ascorbic acid levels until a certain threshold; the effect of vitamin C was lowered in trials where the
population had already taken supplements due to renal
