The Potential Effects Of Democracy On The Middle East
The Potential Effects of Democracy in the Middle East

Democracy has often been affiliated with reflective notions such as freedom and liberty, as well as
the belief that people deserve a voice to represent their demands and the majority of a population
should have its way. The first idea of democracy promotion started with Wilsonian ideas, the
democratic peace theorem, and the long term security interests of all democracies (Huber, 2008).
It is often regarded as an abstract concept with varying definitions that change based on the area
the concept is being applied in. Fundamentally, the democracy practiced in the U.S. is
inconceivable to apply to a region that is drastically different in a wide array of aspects. As a result,
any associations with the concept of democracy in regions such as the Middle East must be regarded
subjectively due to a different social, cultural, economic, and political environment. Furthermore, the
manner in which states with undemocratic political systems are portrayed as being failed states
carries the connotation that being undemocratic is thus backward (Al Jarrah, 2007). Given that the
vast majority of the countries in the Middle East are predominantly Islamic, have diverse
economies, and share a common Middle Eastern culture, these influences must be acknowledged for
the respective roles they play in order to form an adequate definition for democracy in this region.
In order to gain an understanding of what has prevented the Middle East
Auschwitz II-Birkenau, And Auschwitz III-Monowitz
After the control of Poland by the Third Reich, Oswiecim, a city in Poland, had its named changed
to Auschwitz by the Germans and became the name of the camp. Auschwitz had served as a
concentration camp through its lifespan and eventually became the biggest concentration camp at
the time. Only Polish people were sent there at first which were mostly people with high power
including scientific, civic, political figures, etc. After a while people other than the Polish were sent
to the camp. Jews and others who were fit for labor were sent to the camp. 400,000 people were
registered and placed in the camp and the sub camps of Auschwitz. Over time Auschwitz was
expanded into three parts. Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II Birkenau, and Auschwitz III Monowitz... Show

In September of 1941 the first extermination happened. and Auschwitz II became a major site of
Nazi s Final Solution . From the beginning of 1942 until late 1944, transport trains transported
Jewish people from across Europe, where they were killed with the Zyklon B. Around 1.3 million
people were sent to the camp, of which at least 1 million died. Approximately 1 in 6 Jews killed in
in the Holocaust died at the camp. Many of the people who were not killed in the gas chambers
had died of starvation, forced labor, diseases, executions, and medical experiments. Under
command of United States General Dwight D. Eisenhower more than 100,000 soldiers took part in
the largest amphibious invasion in history. On June 6, 1944, which is also known as D Day
western Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, France. By the end of the month, over 800,000
American, British, and Canadian soldiers had arrived to join what General Eisenhower called the
Great Crusade . On June 22, 1944, Soviet forces went on the offense and destroyed German forces
defending the center of the eastern front in western Belorussia, pushing to
Judith Francisca Baca
Judith Francisca Baca was born on September 20, 1946 in Los Angeles, California to Valentino
Marcel and Ortensia Baca. Her father, Valentino, was not in the picture, so she was raised by her
mother, grandmother, and two aunts. Coming from a Spanish speaking family, Baca struggled in
school, but maybe her struggling was a good thing. Due to her problems with speaking, Baca s
teacher made her sit at her desk and paint, which sparked her interest in art. She attended California
State University at Northridge to obtain her bachelor s degree. Then she went back to her high school
, Bishop Alemany High School, to teach. That is where she got together ethnically diverse students
and painted a mural. Her teaching job did not last long. Her next job was in Los Angeles in a
traveling program for artists to teach at different schools. But one even that sparked her art life was
exploring the Mexican muralist tradition. She was inspired by different books she read about them
and traveled to Mexico to take classes in mural techniques and materials. When she returned to Los
Angeles, she began her Citywide Project. She supervised and... Show more content on

One of her most famous works is A World without Borders . It is a painting of Latinos crying. The
background of this painting is they want a world where border patrol does not exist. People
should be free to go and live wherever they want and cross the border whenever. This painting, in
a way, is expressing propaganda. They want people to realize that there is an issue with having
borders. Some artists have created artwork that has to do with their heritage in their times. Baca s
work however not only expresses her ethnicity and background, but also has propaganda and
represent equality as a whole, with all races. Her work is headed in a new direction that expresses
her opinion on different matters through art. It is a great technique and also creates beautiful
Analysis Of The Poem Porphyria s Lover By Robert...
With so much poetry coming out of Britain it can be hard for any of it to stand out from the rest,
but Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning and A Poison Tree by William Blake manage to stand out
from other poems. These two poems differ in structure, writing style, and voice but both have
something that sticks them out from the rest; murderers without a moral compass. While murder isn
t new to poetryit is rare to find it as nonchalant as it is in these two poems. These killers were not
killing just because they hated their victims; they were killing because they could and the fact
that a life was ended meant nothing to them. This is why these poems stick out from the rest. The
poem Porphyria s Lover by Robert Browning tells the story of two lovers who were not supposed
to be and ends in the death of one of the lovers. The poem starts with a stormy night and Porphyria,
one of the two lovers, visits her lover in a small cottage. We are given the image of her lover
being angry with her by the way he ignores her. She tries to seduce him by making her smooth
white shoulder bare (Browning 17) and pulling her lovers head against her. Porphyria admitted that
although she loved him she was too weak to give herself completely to him. She claims she thought
about him at her dinner feast which could mean that the reason they couldn t be together was
because of class differences. While she told him what went through her mind he looked at her eyes
and claimed that he realized
Crotono Park Research Paper
The seven mile world had its center in Crotonoa Park (Bronx, NY) and extended to create a seven
mile radius around this park. Crazy Legs described hip hop s four elements as: DJing, MCing, B
boying, and graffiti. Joseph Saddler, later named Grandmaster Flash, became known as a DJ
because of his style. He focused on showmanship, such as scratching with his elbows and flipping
around. He later added MCs to pump up the crowd because no one would listen to just the music
without words. Soon he became more liked than Kool Herc and Bambaataa. B boying was
originally created by kids too young to get into clubs, but then spread out of homes into the streets.
It soon became part of gang life and was a mixture of martial arts and dance made to intimidate
Globalization Of The University Of Windsor Globalization
Globalization is the interaction of companies, people, and governments internationally to change and
adapt perspective, ideas and resources. As I take the time to observe my surrounding, I realize that
globalization has been happening in our everyday life without knowing. Without globalization
countries would be limited the resources they have, would decrease security between countries and a
negative impact for the countries economy. Ways that globalization has impacted my everyday life
in a positive impact would be the things I accomplish, the people I confront and the things I observe.
I have encountered many things in my daily life that showed me globalization is a part of each
and everyone of us. I work at Wind Mobile and can see globalization within the phones I sale daily.
Each phone was made in a different country showing the internally interaction that took place.
Without globalization we would have been limited and would not be able to do or learn all the
things we have. At the University of Windsor globalization takes place. The knowledge we learn in
class is globalization. They take material in many countries and teach us, it is impossible to just
reaile in solely in your country s information. No country have all the information, so this is why
globalization is extremely important. Many professors come teach in Canada from other
international countries where we allowed to learn more perspectives, as well as international
students they are able to teach us their

It is internally focused because it involves motivating, mobilizing, co opting, and managing
employees. It is externally focused because it is designed to improve the way a company serves its
customers. Therefore, internal marketing provides a way to encourage employees to continually
improve the way they serve customers and each other. Third, an increase in employee satisfaction
motivates workers to be more engaged and, as a result, they are more likely to rake actions that
result in increased guest satisfaction and profitability. For example, Spinelli and Canavos suggest
that the most satisfied employees respond best to the needs of individual guests, which increases the
overall level of satisfaction of the guests. (3) Fourth, one of the most difficult things to manage in
organizations is change. For organizations in transition, internal marketing is crucial. Internal
marketing helps reinforce and develop a culture where the need for change is understood and
accepted. As a result, the organization is more successful at implementing new strategies, which
improves the chances that the strategies will be successful. Positive Employee Behavior One of the
basic benefits of successful internal marketing is the ability to motivate employees to practice
behavior that will assist in the
Essay On Calcium Intake
Introduction Long term calcium intake deficiencies in adults can be linked to numerous adverse
medical conditions, but regularly American adults do not meet Food and Nutrition Board s
(FNB) Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for this vital mineral (Ross, 2011). The FNB
recommends that males and females between ages 19 50 and males 51 70 years old receive 1,000
mg of calcium every day and that women 51 70 years old and both males and females 70+ years
old intake 1,200 mg of calcium every day ( Calcium Fact Sheet, 2016). However, both genders of
almost all ages fall short of meeting the established Adequate Intake level ( Nutrient
Recommendations, n.d.). According to the National Healthand NutritionExamination Survey
(NHANES), only 65... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, hip fractures have a one in five mortality rate with as many as two thirds of
individuals not regaining their previous mobility status ( Osteoporosis Prevention, Diagnosis, 2000).
Over 1.5 million annual fractures can be attributed to osteoporosis (Riggs and Melton, 1995). In
addition to osteoporosis and osteopenia, low levels of calcium intake can lead to preeclampsia, a
medical condition that develops in pregnant women, usually after 20 weeks gestation, characterized
by hypertension and proteinuria, which can lead to blurred vision, pulmonary edema, stroke, and
intrauterine growth restriction (UGR) (Hart and Harris, 2012). With 50,000 60,000 connected deaths
worldwide, preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality (
Hypertension in Pregnancy, 2013). Studies suggest that a supplement of 1,000 mg of calcium per
day in pregnant women could reduce the chances of developing preeclampsia by as much as 55%,
though the risk reduction was found to be far greater in women with low baseline calcium intakes
(less than 900 mg/day) compared to women with higher daily calcium intakes, whose reductions in
preeclampsia risk were not statistically significant ( Calcium Fact Sheet, 2016). In contrast with the
negative medical conditions associated with long term calcium deficiencies, consistently attaining
the recommended daily amounts of calcium can lead to positive health outcomes extending beyond
preventing bone
Management Challenges In Tulika Tripathi s Alice In...
As children, most of us were brought up on the happily ever afters of Snow White, Cinderella,
Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Peter Pan and Pocahontas. While girls were taught to dream of their
Prince Charming, boys learnt to be Knights in shining armor; Amidst the arguments that these
stories preach gender inequality, comes Tulika Tripathi s corporate world rendition of Lewis
Carroll s Alice in Wonderland but with a twist. In Alice in Corporate Land , Tulika Tripathi, MD of
Hudson Asia, uses her vast experience of leading and managing teams, along with her love for
fairytales to skillfully and creatively talk about the management principles of the corporate world.
Simplistic and engaging, Tripathi s book proves to her readers that the... Show more content on

Cinderella worked hard even though she hated the work given to her; and her step mother and
step sisters took all the credit for it, without bothering about her growth. It was her fairy
godmother, along with all the animals in the house that helped Cinderella get to where she
wanted to be. The lesson here is that it is important for us to find ourselves a network of mentors
to turn to for guidance and support, and build strong relationships with people as Cinderella did,
no matter how small or big they are. The story of the Frog Prince reminds us that appearances are
important. Geppetto endorses the saying, When in Rome, do as the Romans do, meaning that
one should dress appropriately to the setting as it does affect how people view us and the
opportunities we get in life. Geppetto s son Pinocchio has another lesson to teach us the importance
of sticking to our values. Everybody will admire us for the materials we possess and respect us for
the work that we do. But, we are trusted for the values we hold, because our values define who we
are as people. It is very easy for trust to break. But earning back a person s trust takes a lot of effort,
if at all we
