Rhetorical Analysis Of Todd Hill
Introduction
Public speaking is not for the faint of heart, it is a nerve wracking experience full of anxiety and
fear of public judgment. These are some common thoughts among students enrolled in RCM 401
Oral Rhetoric. With the application of theory, continued practice, and constructive feedback from
peers, these opinions are likely to change as they increase their knowledge of oral rhetoric and look
for ways to sharpen their public speaking skills. Todd Thorn is a strong example of a peer of oral
rhetoric that has worked on improving his public speaking through the application of theory and
constructive feedback from fellow peers. The following is an analysis of Todd s improvement over
the 2018 Winter Semester in RCM 401. The analysis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Todd s first and second speeches follow an arrangement of appeals ethos logos pathos but focus on
the logos appeal and only begins to establish a pathos appeal in the conclusion with statements of
emotion towards the respective actions. The conclusion is another area where Todd re establishes
the action and enables the audience. Speech 3 does not follow the rhythm (Heinrichs 2007) as the
Speech 1 and 2, making it difficult to understand the structure and order of the Modes of Appeals.
There is an attempt to follow the similar rhythm, but with a lack of credibility early on or clear
survey of logical points, this rhythm is
Compare And Contrast Equiano And Mary Rowlandson
Equiano and Rowlandson: Two unwavering individuals
Mary Rowlandson was an American wife and mother who had experienced captivity for eleven
dreadful weeks. Olaudah Equiano was an African American who wanted to break free from the
chains of slavery. He eventually purchased his freedom after ten gruesome years. Both Rowlandson
and Equiano inspired people from two different eras to never give up in insufferable situations. The
stories themes are similar in that they both concern two individuals that accompany a female
relative, experienced humility, and were sold against their will for financial gain. However, the
methods of how they received their freedom were different, both maintained contrasting attitudes
toward their captors, and possessed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rowlandson received the pain of humility during her imprisonment. Before she was captured
Rowlandson was a wealthy women and lived a privileged life. For instance, Rowlandson says I have
seen the extreme vanity of this world: one hour I have been in health, and wealthy, wanting nothing.
But then the next hour in sickness and wounds, and death, having nothing but sorrow and affliction.
Before I knew what affliction meant, I was ready sometimes to wish for it (288). In other words
Rowlandson tells her readers that that she saw two contrasting ways of her life: before and during
her capture. Rowlandson took her wealthy status for granted and exhibited an arrogant personality.
During her imprisonment, she learns to survive many unbearable events: consuming food she found
unpalatable, watching the Native Americans mock, torture, and kill the colonists, and getting
seperated from her relatives. Hence, Rowlandson deciphers that she has to comfort herself at these
unbearable situations. Equiano as well describes his humility to his readers in his story. Not to
mention, the author knows his readers prejudices and values. In the same fashion, Olaudah Equiano
states, I believe it is difficult to those who publish their own memoirs to escape the imputation of
vanity. . . let it therefore be remembered, that, in wishing to avoid censure, I do not

in combat. David Lerman provided overwhelming evidence that allows the reader to imagine a
world with women in a combatrole. He also states the pros and cons for women in combat roles.
Although it is clear from Mr. Lerman s tone that he supports women in combat, this article did not
overwhelm the reader with positive regards. It fairly suggests important processes that will need to
be in place before this implementation can be successful.
The author of this article, David Lerman, is a technologist and start up investor who has published

Analysis Of The Poem Norham Castle Sunrise
Norham Castle Sunrise , first painted by Joseph Mallord William Turner in 1798 as a young man
of 23 years old. Having first visited the castle in 1797 Turner proceed to paint Norham Castle
various times through out his career. It can be seen through this series the way in which his age
impacted upon his perception of the scene, his final painting, completed 1845 when Turner was
in his 70s shows the transition of the atmospheric value and presence that now features, i will be
writing on this final painting. Normah Castle, the subject of this particular painting is located on
the River Tweed, on the boarder of England and Scotland, painted in the medium of Graphite,

as a mature man, aged approximately 44 years old, Friedrich painted this piece in the final third
of his life, it is believed to possibly have been Colonel Friedrich Gotthard Von Bricken, of the
Saxon infantry, it is most likely this man was killed in 1813 or 1814 in service of King Friedrich
Wilhelm III of Prussia in the Battles against Napoleon, there for this painting may be serving as a
patriotic tribute. The inspiration for the painting was that of the Elbandsteingebirge, in Saxony and
Bohemia. Both Joseph Mallord William Turner s Norham Castle Sunrise , as well as Casper David
Friedrich s Wanderer Above a Sea of Fog are painted in the Romanticism style of landscape painting.

The Economy Of The Norse Peoples
The economy of the Norse peoples settled in Iceland evolved primarily around husbandry of
cattle, pigs, and goats. Livestock provided an array of foodstuffs and wool, which was used to
make cloth, while agriculture was geared more towards pastoral care and dairy farming than the
cultivation of cereal grains due to the cold climates and poor soil. Their grains consisted mainly of
oats and barley, which could be grown during the short growing season. Chieftains and wealthy
individuals also relied upon seafaring trade for valued luxury goods from continental Europe.
Economicswere deeply intertwined with social practices of the time. Kin groups functioned as
economic units. Members of the community often relied upon one another. The Haensa Thorir s
Saga is an example of close knit socioeconomic community struggling to preserve the health of their
pastorally based economy upon the backdrop of a poor harvest as a result of famine.
The Nordic people established extensive trade networks that transverse Europe and lined the
Scandinavian coast. Near the beginning of the story, Ørn, a Norwegian merchant, docked his
vessel in the Borgarfjord harbor with the intent to sell his goods. The local chieftain, Odd, visited
the merchants and declared that he always set the prices on goods that were sold there, to which
Ørn replied We ll deal with our goods as we see fit, whatever you say, because this cargo belongs to
us and not to you. Ørn challenges the political power of the

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember
my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the
waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it
and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the
earth. So God said to Noah, This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all
life on the earth.
When Adam and Eve sinned, it did not make God happy. So in order to cleanse the earth, He had
Noah gather up two of every animal and make an arc for the animals and Noah s family. God then
began to flood the earth. Since Noah was faithful, God kept him and his family safe from the flood.
Then God put a big rainbow in the sky to remind us that He would never do that again. This rainbow
reminds us that when we are in times of trouble, God will protect us.
The whole world will never again be covered over by water, but that doesn t mean we won t have
trouble in this life. Our world is full of trouble. Some kids see this trouble every day at home. They
see it in parents who don t get along, or parents struggling to keep a job and pay the
Wynona House Observation
For this experience, I have visited Wynona s House Child Advocacy Center, often referred to as
Wynona s House. Wynona s House was the perfect agency to visit because April is Child Abuse
Prevention Month. During my visit, I interviewed Ashley Pires and briefly, Karen J. Zambrano.
Ashley Pires is the FamilyAdvocate and Karen Zambrano is Wynona House s Forensic Interview

As the Family Advocate, Ashley specializes in the casework of families, leading to forensic video
interviews with their clients. Pires also provides the services that these children and their families
may need, which are determined from a strength and needs assessment. She is essentially a victim

Their occupation is based upon advocacy and social justice. In addition to this, it is crucial for the
social worker to know everything about child abuse. This ranges from the signs and symptoms of
it, to knowing how to react to these situations based on medical and psychological impact. The
social workers at Wynona s House must be resilient and patient. Having these qualities makes room
for effective procedures because the psychosocial examinations usually last up to 2 and a half hours.
More than one examination occurs each day. Lastly, social workers here must be committed to their
