1) Temperature of a place at 12:00 noon was + 5°C. Temperature
increased by 3°C in first hour and decreased by 1°C in the second
hour. What was the temperature at 2:00 pm ?
2) Write two distinct integers whose sum is equal to one of the integers .
3) Subtract the sum of 786 and 554 from the difference of 234 and
657. Write the absolute value of the result obtained.
4) Compare : 18 × ( 3) + 21 and 18 × [( 3) + 21]
5) A flower seller gains Rs.5 per red rose sold and gets a loss of Rs. 2 per
yellow rose sold. If the flower seller sells 250 red roses and 320
yellow roses per day, find the gain or loss per day .
6) Water level in a well was 20m below ground level. During rainy
season, rain water collected in different water tanks was drained into
the well and water level rises 5m above the previous level. The wall
of the well is 1m 20 cm high and a pulley affixed at a height of 80 cm.
Raghu wants to draw water from the well. Determine the minimum
length of the rope he can use to take out water .
7) A school bus has sitting capacity ; ‘S’ . The seats numbered are
from 15 to + 15 . The driver’s seat is not included to the above
number . To ensure social distancing the children have been asked
to occupy alternate seats . The seat numbered 15 has been
reserved for the conductor . i) What is the value of ‘S’ ? ii) How
many children can sit in the school bus ?
8) On a particular day the maximum and minimum temperature of Leh
was C and C , whereas in Hyderabad it was C and
C . In which place the difference between maximum and minimum
temperature was more ?
9) Four friends Ram , Shyam , Mohit and Neetu went for trekking to
enjoy their summer vacations. Neetu reached the peak and found he
was 1500m above the sea level. All the friends were at equal distance
from each other. i) Express the height where Neetu is (in integers) .
ii) As they climbed higher the temperature dropped 15 degree below
zero. Express it in integers. iii) Ram slips from his position and falls
into the sea where he reaches 650m below the sea level. He observes
a submarine 75 m below him. What is the distance between the sea
level and the submarine?
