The Indian Parliament consists of the President and the two Houses, known as the House of the People (Lok
Sabha) and the Council of States (Rajya Sabha).

Resignation Can resign on health and other grounds by submitting a letter of resignation to Deputy
Speaker.
Removal Can be removed by passing a resolution by the majority of members.

• The Constitution provides for the office of the Deputy Speaker.
