The qualification is CSS NC II. It contains the
following competencies: 4 BASIC, 7 COMMON, and
4 CORE
The nominal duration is 280 hours or 35 Days.
A Competency-Based Training (CBT) is training
delivery approach that focuses on the competencies
of learners.
WORKSHOP AREA
And now, I will be giving you a brief / short
tour of our CBT facility that we will use in
the training and the functions of each area,
so that when we are having our training
and I provide you some instructions on
where to proceed during the conduct of the
training, you will already be familiar with
the components of our CBT Workshop.
(Discuss the 9 CBT Areas of a Workshop.
Point to specific parts of the area while you
are presenting each, alternatively, if you
have a wide room or space, you can post
area names on the wall and move over to
that part while you are describing the
purpose of each.)
We have here the Practical Work Area
wherein we are going to practice our skills
and perform our task and job sheets.
A learning resource center (LRC) is a
facility within a school, staffed by a
specialist, containing several information
sources to facilitate education for students
and staff. It differs from a regular school
library in its additional focus on multimedia
resources and information technology.
This area is called Assessment the
Institutional Area, wherein we are going
to demonstrate the skills that we have
already learned or acquired – this is also
where we recognize your prior learning by
way of taking a series of tests to confirm
your RPL.
Contextual learning is based on a
constructivist theory of teaching and
learning. Learning takes place when
teachers are able to present information in
such a way that students are able to
construct meaning based on their own
experiences. Contextual learning
experiences include internships, service
learning and study abroad programs.
Quality control Various test aside from
methodology and calibration are conducted
in this area including in-process quality
controls
Trainers Resource Center this area
houses the learning materials, the training
regulations and curriculum examples
Distance learning this is enable the
learning provision outside and away from
the training institutions in terms of print
and non print media
Computer laboratory this laboratory has
an array of computer units of which learner
are provided for them to learn and gain
appropriate IT competencies that may
include word, excel even desktop
publishing
Support Service area this area provide
value adding competencies such as
kneading doughs, decorating and
displaying cakes and other underpinning
skills in the particular competency
One of the CBT principles is that training delivery is
individualized and self-paced. In order to realize this
CBLM is developed. Inside a CBLM we have
instructions on How to use this CBLM? Using the
Information Sheets the learner is presented with
ideas, concept or process appropriate for the LO.
Then the learner is provided an opportunity to practice
or apply the same knowledge or skill that was
presented with the use of TASK/JOB/PROCEDURAL
SHEET. Finally, the learner is given immediate
feedback on the result of the application of the
concepts or methods performed through ANSWER
KEY, PROCEDURAL CHECKLIST, and
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA CHECKLIST.
I order to establish that a learner is competent in a
particular unit of competency before he proceeds to
the next competency an Institutional ASSESSMENT
is conducted.
Any question or clarification?
If none, see you tomorrow before 8:00 AM for the
start of your training. And the first competency that
you are going to learn is CORE COMPETENCY 1-
INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER SYSEM.
