II. Rationale
In accordance with the annual English and Reading Month celebration and with this
year’s theme “Reliving the Past and Embracing the Future Through Philippine
Literature”, Bais City Special Science Elementary School has planned out various events
and competitions in order for the pupils to learn and appreciate language skills and
proficiencies and enable them to showcase and enhance their skills.
III. Objectives
In line with the celebration of the annual English and Reading Month Celebration, Bais City
Special Science Elementary School aims to:
1. recognize and acknowledge potential and outstanding literary writers and
performing artists;
2. provide mutually beneficial relationships and establish camaraderie among
students and venues for the strengthening of language and reading proficiency
among them;
3. develop interested writers to become effective journalists;
4. promote the right access to information, knowledge, and data necessary to
strengthen journalistic values;
5. hone the reading skills and cultivate the importance and love for reading of
pupils amidst this pandemic; and
6. create an atmosphere of competitiveness and excellence in undertaking
various activities.
