Conclusion
Through this study, we’ve successfully developed a working prototype that demonstrates the
potential of piezoelectric technology as a sustainable energy source. By harnessing the pressure
generated by vehicles passing over road humps, our system offers a promising way to harvest
energy from everyday traffic.
This research shows that integrating piezoelectric systems into urban infrastructure is not only
feasible but can also support the push toward renewable energy solutions. With further
development, this concept could be effectively applied in real-world scenarios—particularly for
powering low-energy needs like street lighting and sensor networks—contributing to greater
energy efficiency and sustainability."
Recommendation
For future researchers, several recommendations have emerged from this study to help advance
the development and application of the piezoelectric road hump system. This study recommends
integrating a microcontroller-based data logging system for accurate, real-time energy output
measurement. Increasing the number of piezoelectric transducers and using higher-capacity
batteries can enhance energy generation and storage. Optimizing the circuitry with capacitors and
voltage regulators is also advised to boost efficiency.
Long-term testing under various environmental conditions is essential to ensure durability and
waterproofing. Mechanical stress and fatigue analysis should be conducted to assess component
lifespan. Exploring hybrid systems with solar power and using inferential statistics can offer
deeper insights and more scalable energy solutions.
