Introduction
01 Introduction
As critical urban development tools, the
Regional Code and Urban Code are set to
play a vital role in guiding and regulating
land development in order to achieve
the planned vision for Northern Borders
Region. These codes provide a structured
framework that aligns with the long-
term goals and aspirations of the region,
promoting sustainable growth, economic
prosperity, and an enhanced quality of life
for its residents.
This manual for implementation of the
Northern Borders Region Regional Code
and Urban Code is intended to supplement
the overall implementation action plan
for the Northern Borders Region. It
provides instructions, steps, and timing for
responsible entities to follow in order to
introduce and operationalize the Regional
Code and Urban Code. It also provides
additional guidance on training, capacity-
building and suggests a certification
process.
The proposed instructions provided in
this manual are subject to further revision
and refinement based on input from key
stakeholders and implementers.
