Feed
LF 1514 has been changed to LF 1514 HR.
− Basically it is same as LF 1514 on DP rigs but now always with hose reel and with
sensors for automatic functions.
− There is also guide support that runs around the top pulley to keep the feedropes
in place
Longer version is also available for 20 ft starter rod and hose reel.

Feed
Drilling control valves and Rod Handler valves are located to the feed to
reduce hosing and to minimize reaction time.

Rod Changer
Rod Changer is basically the same as on DP rigs but with different slot
arrangement in Malta Cross (to enable store 6+1 pcs 76 and 87 mm tubes)
and with sensors needed for for automatic functions.
Rod Changer can optionally be
equipped with rollers.

Boom
Same boom but different attachment to main frame.
− Boom rear end and the boom lift cylinder in DPi rigs are connected to one swing
piece to decrease boom lift cylinder load to the frame.

Track type is FL6 like in DP series. Driving gear Lohman GFT 24
Now 400 mm triple grousers are Tramming speed 1,8 – 3,5 km/h
standard Oscillation shaft diameter is
− 310 mm single grousers are option. increasesd 10 mm.
Top surface of the beam is now self
cleaning type to avoid stones to
enter between the chain and the
idler wheel.

Totally new design
− no hydraulic hoses inside the cabin.
− Better comfort due to better layout, visibility, air conditioning and lower noise.

Control system
DPi series rigs have new control system which replaces hydraulic control
system used in DP rigs .
It gives totally new possibilites for automated functions and adjustments
which can be stored for later use.
− When hydraulics is used only for power it is very staightworward and requires less
maintenance.
The control system
− modules are connected to each other with a cable.
Each modules are programmed for certain tasks
− as a spare they are “ empty” and can be used in any spot simpy by giving the task
and replacing the old one.

Angle indicator
DP series rigs have TIM 5000 or 6000 serie angle indicators available as an
option.

DPi series rig have integrated angle indicator system as an option. It’s easier
to use and shows all needed information in set up and drilling mode.

Same CAT engines in use as in DP rigs but now operation speed is
1800 rpm instead of 2100 rpm.

Gear box
DP gearbox was Stiebel with two power take offs.
DPi gearbox is Stiebel 4382 with three powe take offs.
When i=0,871 and engine runs with1800 rpm, pumps and compressor have
2067 rpm.

No side pumps, all pumps driven by the gearbox.

Same GD Enduro 25 and same air volumes as on DP rigs but DPi rigs have
active pressure control for fuel saving.
Air volume DP900i is 9,6 m3/min. DP1100i and DP1500i have 14 m3/min

Fuel tank
DP fuel tank capacity was 520 l. DPi tank is volume is 160 l bigger to enable
two shift operation without refuelling.

Same return oil filter and breather as on DP rigs.

Coolers
The fan speed in DPi series rigs hydraulic / compressor cooler is ambient
temperature controlled for fuel saving.

DPi rigs have integrated fuel cooler for better engine power in hot ambient
temperature.

Dust collector
Same suction capacity, filter area and Flap feeder option for Dust Collector is
fan as on DP rigs. available for DPi rigs.
− Less flying dust keeps coolers cleaner.

Lay-out
All air intakes on the left side to avoid hot air short circulation and to enable
fresh air also for the air conditioner.
Dust collector on the down stream side.
Fuel tank located low for better rig balance.

Engine turned 180 degrees to enable straight route for hydraulic hoses from pumps to
control valves and further via boom to the feed.
Main drilling valves are located to feed to enable fast response times in the drilling
control
