Hardware Components
Monitor: It is an electronic visual display for computer.
Motherboard: A motherboard is also known as logic board, planner board and
baseboard. It is main printed board and it allows communication between many
of the crucial electronic components of system.
CPU: Central processing unit mainly executes a sequence of stored program in
computer.
RAM: Random Access Memory is temporary storage of memory. All the data and
programs required for running a process are stored here, until the process is over.
More RAM storage space can make the computer work faster.
Expansion Cards: expansion cards are the printed circuit board which can be
inserted in systems.
Optical Disk Drive: It is a disk drive that uses laser light or electromagnetic waves
within or near the visible light spectrum as part of the process of reading or
writing data to or from optical discs.
Hard disk drive: It is a type of disk which stores large amount of data on an electro
magnetically charged surface or set of surfaces.
Basic Input Output System: BIOS prepares the software programs to load, execute
and control the computer.
Power Supply: It supplies electrical energy to an output load or group of loads.
Visual Display Controller: It converts logical representation of visual information
into signals that can be used as input for a display medium.
Computer Bus: It is used to transfer data or power between computer
components inside a computer or between computers.
Software Components
Virus Scanner: It’s a type of scanner is the scanner which is used to scan the virus
from a security point of view of computer.
Spread sheet: Spread sheets are interactive application for managing and
analyzing data in tabular form.
Programing Language: This is the type of software which is used by computer
programmers to develop operating system and applications.
Operating System: Operating system is a system software that manages computer
resources and provide common Services for computer.
Application Software: Popular example of application software are Microsoft
office suite which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Word Processor: Combining the keyboard text-entry and printing functions of
an electric typewriter, with a recording unit, either tape or floppy disk (as used by
the Wang machine) with a simple dedicated computer processor for the editing of
text.
