Hello, everyone!

My name is Gia Tuong, I’m from English Language Class

Dentistry is a vital profession in healthcare that focuses on maintaining oral health and helping
people keep their smiles healthy. The topic I will share with you is related to Dentistry. Today,
I’m going to talk about how to become a dentist.

The aims of my presentation are to inform you the role of a dentist, the requirements to become
one, and the challenges you may face along the way.

First, let's talk about the role of a dentist.

A dentist's main job is to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health problems. Their responsibilities,
includes checking for cavities, performing dental surgeries, and educating patients about proper
oral hygiene. Their work is essential, not only for creating beautiful smiles, but also for oral
health.

Now, let’s move on to the requirements to become a dentist.

The first step is completing high school, with a focus on subjects like biology, chemistry, and
physics, which provide the foundation for understanding human health.

Next, after high school, you must complete a bachelor's degree.

Once you earn your bachelor’s degree, you will need to apply to dental school. You will learn
about anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, and dental procedures, and practice these skills by
treating patients under supervision.

After graduating from dental school, you will earn a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor
of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.

Finally, let’s consider the challenges that come with becoming a dentist.
Becoming a dentist requires years of hard education and training. It’s not an easy path – dental
school is demanding, with long hours of studying and practical work.

Additionally, the costs of tuition for dental school can be high, which may require significant
financial planning.

Once you become a dentist, the challenges continue. You must always keep up with up-to-date
dental technologies and techniques to improve work efficiency.

In conclusion, despite these challenges, dentistry is a highly rewarding career. You get to make
a real difference in other lives by improving their health and self-confidence. If you are
passionate about healthcare and helping others, this could be the perfect career for you.
