Construct a model of the bones and muscles using recycled materials. S4LT-IIa-b-1.1.1.a.2
Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding of how the major internal organs
such as the brain, heart, lungs, liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys, bones, and muscles keep the
body healthy.
Performance Standard: The learners should be able to construct a prototype model of organism
that has body parts which can survive in a given environment.

ball-and-socket joints protect the eyes. On the
other hand. The backbones protect the spinal
cord. The ribs form a protective cage around the
heart and lungs. The pelvic bones support our
body when we sit.
The bones in our body are also connected.
The point where two bones meet and connect is
called a joint. Our joints and muscles allow our
bones to move. The movements of our body
originate in our joints.
Muscles from the fleshy parts of the body
enable our body to (pull our bones) to move.
They also give shape and forms to our bodies
and protect delicate organs. Muscles are
voluntary or involuntary. Some muscles work
without us thinking, like our heart beating
(Involuntary Movement). Others are controlled
by our thoughts and allow us to do stuff and
move around (Voluntary Movement).
