DESCRIPTION OF THE CONSTITUENT ELEMENTS OF THE INTERNSHIP REPORT

The cover: the cover of the Internship Report bears the logo of the IUG and that of the
Establishment above the theme. The Company logo is not permitted. The names of the student, the
academic supervisor and the professional supervisor also appear on the cover page.

The cover page: this is a cover page.

The summary (in one page): In principle, the summary is an abbreviated table of contents. It
includes, among other things, the main articulations of the plan, namely: the general introduction,
the parts, the chapters, the sections, the general conclusion, the bibliographical
references, the appendices, and the table of contents, bearing the page numbers allowing 'to access.

The dedication: it is optional, the choice of recipient is left to the free appreciation of the author
of the Internship Report.

Acknowledgments (on one page): they are addressed to those who contributed significantly to the
production of the Internship Report. This contribution can be financial, material, scientific or moral.
The thanks must be motivated and presented while respecting the secularism of the school. We can
thank in hierarchical order:

The IUG through its President;

the training establishment through the establishment Director;

the academic supervisor;

the reception structure through its General Director;

the professional supervisor;

any person who has made a financial or scientific contribution;

the family, mainly those parents who contributed to the training;

classmates and friends.

However, it is desirable that the student demonstrates sobriety by avoiding making a litany of all the
members of his family or all his friends since elementary school. As for the people selected, a
harmonization of their representation is required, namely: title or civility followed by the first and last
name or title or civility followed by the first and last name.
The list of abbreviations and acronyms: these are the abbreviations and acronyms contained in
the Internship Report. They must be presented in alphabetical order.

The list of tables and figures: on this subject, the order of their appearance in the Internship Report
must be respected, as well as the references if they come from other works.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning the Internship Report page allowing access to it.

The summary (in half a page) : it is a summary of the work carried out. It very succinctly gives the
objective of the study, the methodology used, the main results and possibly the main recommendations.

The abstract: this is the translation of the summary into English.

The epigraph: it is a thought, a quote from an author related to the Internship Report.

The general introduction: this is the justification for the Internship Report. The introduction must:

- allow us to understand the reasons which made it possible to choose the subject;

- clearly formulate the question you intend to answer;

- explain the method used and specify the supports chosen;

- present the plan.

It is important to note that the pagination of the Internship Report, in particular the numbering in 1,
begins with the first page of the introduction.

The body of the Report: The body of the Internship Report has three chapters.

Chapter 1 :

Just like the other two (02) chapters, the first chapter must be composed:

- An introduction which announces the sections

- Two sections

- A conclusion.
Firstly, this chapter allows the student to present the company in its environment (internal and
external environment) as well as its evolution. This presentation must be oriented in such a way as
to highlight the department or direction where the internship was carried out in order to:

- Position him/her well in relation to all of the company's departments and services.

- Show its importance in the proper functioning of the company.

- Identify the relevance of the analysis that will be carried out.

Secondly, this chapter must:

- Describe the activity carried out during the internship so as to clearly highlight the tasks carried out and identify

the observed problem(s).

- Describe the causes and manifestations.

Chapter 2 :

Just like the previous chapter, it should consist of an introduction, two sections and a conclusion.

In a first articulation, this chapter must:

- Identify the theoretical questions that arise.

- The way in which they are presented on this theoretical level with the aim of making them

Comparison with the practical case experienced in Business.

Generally speaking, the chapter presents the theoretical approach to solving the problems
detected during the internship activity.

In the second articulation of this chapter, the writer of the report must clearly
highlight the consequences of the problem(s) identified on the functioning of the
Company.

NB: from one chapter to another, from one section to another or from one paragraph to another, a
transition will be necessary.
In summary, our work should have 3 chapters, 2 sections per chapter and 2 paragraphs per section.

Chapter 3:

The student must propose at the level of this last chapter the solution(s) recommended for the resolution
of problem. These solutions must be practical and adapted to the Company's problems. It is at this level
that its contribution to the Company truly lies.

In the last stage of this chapter, it will be a question of presenting the expected results following the
proposed solutions made above. The writer of the report can for
adopt a comparative study or any other analysis that he knows best.

The general conclusion : its real function is to respond synthetically to the problems that needed to
be resolved within the framework of the Internship Report. It involves :

a summary of the problems to be solved;

the results obtained;

a critical look at the approach followed;

a brief reminder of the recommendations and perspectives of the work carried out.

The glossary or lexicon: it allows you to know the meaning of particularly difficult words from
specialized vocabulary.

The bibliography: this is all the materials used to design and write the Internship Report.
Appendices: these are the documents having a direct link with the Internship Report and which
provide further information to the reader.

The table of contents: this is the detailed and paginated reproduction of the plan.
PRACTICAL WRITING TIPS

you have to be disciplined;

use transitions to facilitate the passage from one idea to another; ÿ avoid the
use of “I”;
construct simple sentences (subject-verb-complement); ÿ avoid
neighborhood vocabulary (slang, vulgarity);
Roman numerals are used before the introduction and Arabic pagination begins in the introduction;

the font is “ Times New Roman ”;

the font size is 12;
titles are in bold;
concerning the bibliography, it is necessary to note the category in which the reference (books,
theses, journal articles, press, sites);

number of pages of the Internship Report between 40 and 50 pages;

you must keep all drafts, preparatory notes and copies of discontinued Versions;

while writing, make lists; abbreviations, words to place in the lexicon, elements to check or complete;

before starting to write a chapter or a part, you must gather all the documents in order to have them
on hand;

there is no space after a parenthesis, before a comma, before a period, before and after a hyphen.
There is no period after a title. Regarding spelling, some typos are inevitable. It will be helpful
to consider using Word's spelling and grammar check;

the left margin must have 03 cm and the right margin 02 cm. Top of page space must be 03 cm
and the bottom one also 02 cm;

the text is written in double spacing (i.e. 1.5). However, some parts of the work are written in single
spacing. These are the parts which come before the general introduction and those which come
after the general conclusion: the thanks, the

summaries (the one in French and the one in English), the dedication, the bibliography, the
appendices, etc. ;
the titles of the chapters are centered but those of the sections and subsections are aligned at
the left margin;

for paginations, we use two types of marking: in Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv….) for the pages
preceding the general introduction and in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3,4…) from from the general
introduction to the end;

for the pages bearing only the titles (general introduction, parts, chapters, etc.), the numbering is
done implicitly: the numbers are not marked but these pages are taken into account in the rest of
the numbering;

the font is “ Times new roman ”. The font size is 12: this is the standard size for scientific works.

Bold is used for the presentation of titles or for underlining, that is to say the highlighting of certain
words in groups of words;

we speak of abbreviations when a word is represented only with its first or last letter(s). Some
abbreviations are acronyms or acronyms. The candidate can create their own abbreviations to
avoid writing the names or long titles of certain categories of actors or institutions, etc. too many
times. ;

the titles of tables and figures (diagrams, maps, graphs, drawings) are placed at the top of the
illustration. They are written in bold lowercase characters, however starting with a capital letter;

the elements arranged in landscape mode are rotated so that the top is placed on the binding side,
therefore on the left hand side and the bottom on the right hand side;
classify the bibliographic references according to the following chronology: author, first name
(abbreviated and a period) (date), “title of the chapter” (chapter…), in title of the book, place of
publication: Publisher, PP XX-XX,

Web: author, first name (abbreviated and a period) (date), title of the section on the site, name of the
site, consulted on (date) address on the web;

We insert in an annex information which helps to understand the work: sketches, tables, diagrams,
statistics, figures or questionnaires. Appendices are listed in order of mention in the text
