RECOGNITION:
The Post Graduate Diploma in Management is recognised as equivalent to MBA Degree by
the Association of Indian Universities and the Government of India OM No. F.18-49 /76/T-
2/T-7 dated 25th July 1977.

NOTES ON EVALUATION SYSTEM

1. A term is of 10 weeks duration.

2. One credit is 10 contact hours lecture.

3. Grading System

The student's overall performance in a course is rated on the following scale of


letter grades and their equivalent grade points:

Grade Description Grade Point

A Excellent 3.50 - 4.00

B Good 2.50 - 3.49

C Satisfactory 1.50 - 2.49

D Low Pass 0.50 - 1.49

U Unsatisfactory 0.00 - 0.49

The Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) is the weighted average of grade
points with course credits as weights.

4. Organisation Project

Every student is required to carry out a project of approximately eight to ten weeks
duration in an organisation and submit a written report. The report is required to be
rated as Satisfactory by thecompany for award of Diploma.

5. Contemporary Concerns Study

This is an optional course equivalent to a three credit elective course. This study,
guided by a faculty member of the Institute, must involve a study of current concern
in industry or the economy. This is graded like any other elective course.

6. Dissertation

This is an optional component. A student satisfying certain minimum performance


requirements can write under the guidance of a faculty member, a dissertation in lieu
of two 3-credit elective courses. The dissertation is evaluated by a three-member
committe of faculty. The student must get a satisfactory grade to be eligible for award
of the Diploma.
