SPEAKING SKILL PLACEMENT TESTING
I. Testing instruction
- Greeting student.
- Begin with 3 to 5 basic questions at Starter – Elementary (A0 – A1) level
- If the student’s performance was good, increase the level of questions.
✔ Pre-Intermediate = 3 questions
✔ Intermediate = 2 questions
✔ Upper-Intermediate = 1-2 questions
✔ Advanced = 1 question
- If student couldn’t pass any level, tester can stop the testing and move to evaluation step.
- When evaluating, the tester does the grading and gives comments based on the criterions:
✔ Reflex, confidence and fluency
✔ Grammar usage and range of vocabulary
✔ Pronunciation, stress and intonation
✔ Idea expanding
