The Major Distinct between English literature Major and English Education Major
English is an international language that is also learned from the elementary level in this country.
Nevertheless, it seems that there are still many people who think that students majoring in English are
all the same. In fact, the English department has a specific concentration or division of majors. The
English department itself can be divided into three parts, which focus on Education, Linguistics, and
English Literature. Although they come from the same subject matter, of course the differences between
the three are quite striking. Even so, what will be discussed in this essay is the difference between
English Education and English Literature majors.
First of all, what is English Education major?. English Education is a study program that focuses on
learning listening, speaking, reading, writing as well as the use of English in various types of contexts
such as communicating in business, presentations, writing articles, even drama performances and
grammar. English studies majors have a wider range of career prospects due to the interdisciplinary
nature of their studies. They may find opportunities in journalism, public relations, media, cultural
organizations, and non-profit sectors. Their skills in critical analysis, communication, and research make
them valuable assets in various industries that require strong written and oral communication abilities..
In the second part, I will explain about English literature. English literature is the study of literature
written in English. It studies speaking, writing and listening as well as grammar. In this degree program,
you will become a skilled reader and translator of literary works, films, media creations and cultural
phenomena. Comprehending literature involves a multifaceted approach, encompassing the
examination of artistic elements, historical and cultural backgrounds, as well as theoretical frameworks
that shape imaginative works. The literature major is perfect for students interested in graduate study in
English or law school, but it is also an excellent program for those who wish to develop a deep
knowledge of literature in English in all its formal, historical, cultural, and theoretical dimensions.
English language education and English literature have in common that they study English language such
