🧭 Framework: P.I.L.L.A.R.S.

of Strength for
the Next Generation
Each letter stands for a core area to develop. Think of these as foundational "pillars" to help
young people stand strong in a shifting world.

P – Purpose
Anchor their lives in meaning beyond themselves.

 Help them discover their “why”


 Teach them to serve others
 Show them that greatness comes from contribution, not just ambition

Key Questions:

What were you made to do? Who benefits from your life?

I – Integrity
Develop inner strength and moral clarity.

 Teach values, not just rules


 Encourage consistency between beliefs and actions
 Model honesty and humility, even in failure

Key Questions:

Who are you when no one is watching? What do you stand for?

L – Literacy (Critical & Media)


Equip them to think, not just absorb.

 Teach them how to analyze, question, and reason


 Help them understand how media and systems influence thinking
 Prioritize truth-seeking over trend-following
Key Questions:

Is this true? Who benefits if I believe this?

L – Love (Relationships & Community)


Root them in real relationships and belonging.

 Promote healthy family, friendship, and mentorship


 Teach conflict resolution and empathy
 Encourage face-to-face connection

Key Questions:

Who’s in your circle? Are you building up or tearing down?

A – Agency
Help them take ownership of their life.

 Encourage responsibility, discipline, and resilience


 Teach them to respond to adversity with action, not excuses
 Frame failure as feedback, not finality

Key Questions:

What’s in your control? What can you do today?

R – Resilience
Prepare them to endure, adapt, and grow.

 Expose them to challenges and let them struggle


 Teach emotional regulation and grit
 Help them find strength in faith, family, or philosophy

Key Questions:

What can this struggle teach you? Who are you becoming through it?
S – Stewardship (of Technology, Time, and Talent)
Train them to master their tools — not be mastered by them.

 Teach boundaries and intentional use of screens and media


 Help them invest time wisely and grow their skills
 Foster creativity over consumption

Key Questions:

Are you using your time and tech to build something real?

🧱 How to Use the Framework


 Mentoring/Parenting: Use the 7 pillars as a weekly theme in conversations.
 Schools/Youth Programs: Build a curriculum or workshop series around each letter.
 Personal Development: Encourage young people to reflect on which pillar needs
growth.
 Leadership: Use it as a coaching framework for teams or young leaders.
