Chapter 1: Divine Life
1Co 2:4-7 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power: (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
but in the power of God. (6) Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the
wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: (7) But we speak the
wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our
glory:
We see these different moves and manifestations of the Holy Spirit functioning in the book of Acts.
In Acts 2, the fire and the gifts of the Holy Spirit were poured out upon the 120 believers.
On that day 3000 believers were saved and the first church was born, it started to function.
In the 4th chapter of Acts, Apostle Peter and John were arrested and threatened.
When they were released, they called the believers together and they cried out in prayer to God.
God then poured out the Holy Spirit in a manifestation of boldness on the believers.
Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Today, we need to learn to rise up as soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ in the power and boldness of
the Holy Spirit.
We need to do this by learning how to live and walk in the spirit so we can boldly preach, proclaim
and share the evangelistic message.

A Vision of a Banner
4
He then said that from this night, the New Covenant would be introduced.
Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
2. A new priesthood
The new priesthood is the Melchizedek priesthood
Heb 5:9-10 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto
all them that obey him; (10) Called of God an high priest after the order of
Melchisedec.
4. A new dispensation
The dispensation of the Holy Spirit.
This dispensation is the ministry of the gospel of grace
and the Holy Spirit.
2 Co 3:8 (AMP) Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit (this spiritual ministry whose task it
is to cause men to obtain and be goverened by the Holy Spirit) be attended with much greater and
more splendid glory?
Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Born of the Spirit in God’s Kingdom
When Jesus talked with Nicodemus, He was teaching about the things of God’s kingdom.
He said, ‘For you to be part of God’s kingdom, you must be born of the Spirit’.
The school of the Spirit starts when you are born of the Spirit.
Joh 3:5-7 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that
which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Through the sin of Adam and Eve, mankind had lost their relationship with God and was, therefore,
spiritually dead.
Christ came to restore us back into a relationship with Father God.
For this to happen, we need to be born again of the Spirit.
Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
When we are born again, through faith in Christ’s redeeming blood, our spirit receives God’s divine
nature and therefore become alive.
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Being born again of the Spirit is the foundational start for the school of the
Holy Spirit.
When we are born again of the Spirit of God, then we are seated in those
heavenly kingdom places in Christ Jesus.
Sundar grew up in Punjab, a state in India. Punjab is the place of the Sheik religion.
They celebrate in the golden temple.
Sundar was very hungry for spiritual reality. He wanted to become a devoted priest. So he prayed
and prayed and then, one day, Jesus Christ appeared to him.
Jesus Christ told Sundar that He is the way and the truth. To have a true relationship with God the
Father, Sundar had to count the cost.
To follow Jesus Christ meant that he would become an outcast to his people and loose his big
financial inheritance.
He chooses to follow Jesus Christ, for only Christ could fill the deep empty spiritual hole in his heart.
He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and was born-again and baptised in water by immersion.
He became a very powerful evangelist. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and was used to win many
lost souls of the Sheikh and the Hindus. He was used to doing great signs and wonders and miracles.
He also had a very deep walk of intimacy with the Holy Spirit whereby we can learn a lot of wisdom.
A New Covenant
6
This new covenant is based upon a new priesthood which is the
priesthood order of Melchizedek.
Heb 5:9-10 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey
him; (10) Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Just before Jesus Christ went to the cross to be our redeeming sacrifice, He taught the disciples
about the new covenant.
This was the inauguration of the holy sacrament of Communion.
Jesus took the bread and blessed it, broke it and said, ‘this is My body so you can be made clean’.
Mat 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the
disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
He then took the cup and said, ‘This is for the forgiveness of your sin’.
Mat 26:27-28 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of
it; (28) For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
By the order of Melchizedek, on which the New Covenant is based upon, we receive God’s heavenly
life and divine nature.
This is seen in the book of Hebrews, that Melchizedek order is the heavenly priesthood order:
Heb 6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed
toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end
of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
7
Heb 8:1-2 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who
is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (2) A minister of the sanctuary,
and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Spiritual People
Through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, we become born again of the Spirit.
Therefore, we become spiritual people.
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Sinner’s prayer:
Father God, I come to you and repent of my sin and sinful lifestyle.
Wash me of my sin through the blood of Jesus Christ.
I surrender my life to you, come and live in my heart in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
A New Priesthood
When Jesus our Messiah was speaking to Nicodemus, who was a teacher of the old priesthood, He
said to him, that He had come from above.
In other words, Jesus was born out of heaven here on earth.
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son
of man which is in heaven.
Heb 5:6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec.
This new priesthood has opened the door for us to live, as a believer, in heavenly Sion, yes in
the city of the living God.
Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly
Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the King and the High priest according to the
order of Melchizedek.
His heavenly kingdom now operates here on earth by and through the Holy Spirit in believer’s lives.
8
Now, out of these heavenly places and the throne of God, the Holy Spirit is poured out here on
earth.
Heb 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the
order of Melchisedec.
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is
set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
In this new order, His redeeming blood has opened up God’s heavenly realm for us.
Now we are seated with Christ in heavenly places.
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
The priesthood life comes to us through grace by the blood of Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is poured out because the blood of Jesus Christ which is
based upon the Melchizedek’s heavenly priesthood order from the
throne of God.
This priesthood is not built on the Law but on the blood of Jesus Christ,
where, through faith, we can be saved.
Therefore there is no condemnation, as we learn to walk in the Holy Spirit, for Jesus Christ fulfilled
the Law.
Rom 8:1,4 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not
after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who
walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.
1. The Melchizedek priesthood is the priesthood of salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ
which opens up God’s throne for us.
It says that we are called to come with boldness to the throne of grace.
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is
set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2. Boldly before the throne of grace and of the Majesty of God in Heaven
Here Christ is our intercessor in heaven.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find
grace to help in time of need.
9
3. The Melchizedek priesthood brings order to the tabernacle (hut) of King David and to
worship before the throne of God in heaven
4. Mount Sion
This is the heavenly place of worship which we can join as we worship in the spirit.
Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly
Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
1Jn 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship
with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit.
Ruach Elohim
In the beginning, was God (Elohim) and He created all things as the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters.
Gen 1:1,2 (Names of God Bible) In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heaven and the earth. And
the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God (Ruach Elohim) moved upon the face of the waters.
Then it says about God the Creator, which is Elohim, let us make a man.
10
Gen 1:26 (Names of God Bible) And God (Elohim) said, let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the
cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Here, we see that God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit (Ruach Elohim) together, created
the earth and man.
Therefore, the Holy Spirit is fully God.
When Jesus Christ talks about the Holy Spirit Christ calls Him, ‘He’.
Therefore, the attributes of the Holy Spirit are one with the Father and the Son of God.
This will teach you how great the Holy Spirit is.
Life
The first function of the Holy Spirit that we look at is the function of giving us life.
In Genesis 1, the Holy Spirit is called Ruach Elohim.
Gen 1:2 (Names of God Bible) And the Spirit of God (Ruach Elohim) moved upon the face of the
waters.
The Hebrew word for Spirit here is Ruach. This can be translated as wind, breath or mind.
Ruach Elohim is closely associated with life since there is no life without breath.
When God created Adam, Ruach Elohim blew the life of God into Adam and Adam, who was created
from dust, became alive.
The Holy Spirit gave Adam his life.
When Adam and Eve fell in sin, their divine life was corrupted and their relationship with God died.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water.
The Holy Spirit has a whole lot to do with your spiritual growth and abundant life.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Therefore, let us be open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
11
Chapter 2: The Holy Spirit
I was born again into God’s kingdom in the state of New Mexico, USA when I was 21 years old.
After a few months being in the Baptist church, I backslid because I didn’t have enough spiritual
strength to fight my bondages.
When I was 23 years old, I lived in Hawaii and was baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire.
This Holy Spirit baptism gave me the love and spiritual strength I needed to become a strong born-
again believer.
As I was baptised in the Holy Spirit, many demonic spirits of darkness, depression and occult power
left me.
One of the keys to this baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire is that as I prayed, I totally surrendered my
whole life to God.
Now for 35 years, I am on fire, haven’t backslidden and I am daily being changed from glory to glory.
In the first chapter, we saw that Jesus Christ gave us a New Testament and
therefore a New Covenant.
By this New Covenant, we can have faith in Christ and be born of the Holy Spirit.
He also gave us a new priesthood according to the priesthood of Melchizedek.
This New Covenant also gives us a new spiritual law.
This law is called the Law of the Spirit of Life.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
This law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus releases the moving of the Holy Spirit in our lives so we
can be born again of the Holy Spirit and receive the authority and power of the Holy Spirit in our
lives as we are baptised with the Holy Spirit.
As a young believer, I learnt the importance of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I learnt to daily open my life up for the Holy Spirit.
For the last 35 years, the Holy Spirit has poured out His presence and love in my life daily.
This glorious love and peace have transformed and healed my spirit, heart and soul.
I love to come daily in worship before the Lord God and have fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
2Co 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
The Holy Spirit wants to have communion or fellowship with every believer.
12
The Love of God is in the Spirit of God
The Bible says that God is love and that God is a Spirit, He is holy and He is light.
1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Through the Holy Spirit, Father God’s love is poured out in our heart.
It is by the function and the unction of the Holy Spirit that we get to know this love.
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
The Holy Spirit ministry is to make known unto us the love, goodness and mercy of Jesus Christ and
Father God.
Here, the function of the Holy Spirit is to help us grow in the spirit where the love of God is found
and known.
Jesus said that He would not leave us as orphans or comfortless for He would come to us.
Joh 14:18 (AMP) I will not leave you as orphans (comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless); I
will come (back) to you
When we are born of the Spirit, we are no longer orphans, but receive the spirit of adoption from
God the Father.
As the Holy Spirit and the Father are one, we are adopted by God the Father.
• Now we are His children
• Therefore, we become a son of God
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit
of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
As we have become children of God the Father, therefore, we are called to grow up into sonship.
The whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of God. The sons of God are called to walk and
manifest the presence of God and the glory of the Holy Spirit.
The Comforter
Joh 14:16 (AMP) And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor,
Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby), that He may remain with you forever.
The Holy Spirit will strengthen us and stand by us when we go through troubles and when we are
feeling lonely or hurt.
13
He is also called the Helper for He helps when we are weak and gives us wisdom and understanding
on our path of life.
The Holy Spirit is also called the teacher who teaches the truth, for the truth will set us free.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he
shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will teach you what Jesus had taught and spoken, which we find in the
scripture.
He will give us revelation, understanding and wisdom about the words Jesus Christ spoke to us while
Christ was on earth.
The Holy Spirit is third in rank and Jesus Christ is second in rank, therefore, He
says what Jesus says.
Joh 16:13-15 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall
not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to
come. (14) He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (15) All
things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto
you.
Therefore, to become a good minister, we need to learn to be taught by the Holy Spirit.
A mindset of reasons stops the faith of God, however, it is the unction of the Holy Spirit flow that
teaches us.
1Jn 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any
man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and
even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Therefore we are to be taught in the Holy Spirit, by the anointing, to minister and preach under the
anointing.
For it is the anointing whereby the yoke or burden is destroyed.
Isa 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy
shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
Reasoning against faith and God’s word also stops the flow of the Holy Spirit.
Faith in God’s word and its anointing releases the flow of the Holy Spirit.
14
2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
It is the Holy Spirit that makes the Bible come alive, it is His anointing that teaches us the
living word.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any
man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and
even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
The Spirit of truth gives us revelations of how the word of God works.
As soon as we become born again of the Spirit of God in the kingdom of God, we are a child and a
son of God.
We see this in the book of Galatians, where Apostle Paul shows the difference between the Old
Covenant of the Law and the New Covenant of grace and faith.
He says we are in the New Covenant by grace through faith, born again of the Holy Spirit and
adopted as sons of God.
15
Gal 4:5-7 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of
sons. (6) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying,
Abba, Father. (7) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God
through Christ.
Today, we have become sons and have an inheritance in the Shekinah glory of God.
As a toddler, Jean Darnell was basking daily in the misty cloud of the Shekinah glory of God.
This glory is the love, mercy, goodness, joy and peace of God.
This was the glory of God’s Holy Spirit and the spirit of adoption at work.
A toddler needs the tender loving kindness of a mother and father.
She received the Heavenly Father’s loving kind supernatural embrace.
Daily, she breathed this pure heavenly air and because of this, became a powerful woman of God.
In John 15, our Lord Jesus gives us a lot of meat of the word.
He said that we have to abide in Him to bring forth much fruit.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Jesus also knew that, without His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, we would not bear any fruit.
For without Christ we can do nothing.
Also, without the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing.
In John 15, Jesus talks about the parable of the vine in between the teaching on the Holy Spirit of
John 14 and 16.
Why? So that we would understand that without the Holy Spirit, we can’t bring forth fruit.
In the parable of the vine, Jesus Christ said that the Father is the vinedresser.
Jesus said that He is the true vine and we are the branches.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water.
Without water entering the plant to produce the sap, the vine would die.
The Holy Spirit is the living water whereby we come to life.
The Holy Spirit is the life stream and helps us to abide in the deep presence of Father God through
Jesus Christ.
As we abide in Christ and live in the spirit, we will bring forth much fruit.
16
Joh 15:7-8 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done
unto you. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
Therefore, we need to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit and learn to
have communion with the Holy Spirit.
2Co 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy
Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
The greatest mission of the Holy Spirit is to convict the world and believers of sin.
Without the conviction of sin, there will be no true or lasting repentance.
Therefore, the conviction of sin is a great blessing.
Jesus Christ said that the Holy Spirit would convict the world, and us, of sin.
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
The Holy Spirit’s conviction goes so far as to convict of sin, righteousness and judgement.
The bible says we are to judge ourselves to see if we are still in the faith and walking on the narrow
way, being changed from glory to glory.
To do this, we need the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
If we do so, we will stay on fire all the days of our lives.
If we want to grow in fellowship with Father God and bring forth much fruit, we need to learn to be
sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
The more, greater or deeper our lives are open to the Holy Spirit, the deeper the communion and
intimacy with God will be.
Then we will see a greater manifestation of God’s miracles and glory work through us.
This is why the Bible says, ‘Don’t quench the Holy Spirit’.
The Holy Spirit is very gentle, sensitive and kind, He is easily quenched.
Fall in love with the Holy Spirit and you will love Jesus and the Father more.
Quenching the Holy Spirit in your life stops the fire of the Holy Spirit.
Then you will become lukewarm.
Deal with your sins or bad attitudes and you will be on fire.
17
Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
We also grieve the Holy Spirit if we live in our soul, or let the fleshly lifestyle takeover in anger,
covetousness and other bad attitudes.
This is why, as believers, we need to let the Holy Spirit convict us of our daily sins so we won’t grieve
the Holy Spirit.
My mother could not lovingly nurture me as a baby and toddler for she was conceived and born
outside of marriage.
When my daughter, Elisabeth, was born, I loved her but there where walls of reservation in my
heart.
When she was 2 years old, there was a fresh move of the glory of God in the body of Christ,
especially in Toronto, Canada. The Holy Spirit sent me there for 2 weeks.
The spirit of adoption, the tenderness, mercy, kindness, love and goodness of the glory of God’s
Spirit descended upon me.
I received a lot of love, healing and transformation.
From then on, the walls between Elisabeth and I were gone. From then on, I could love her as her
loving father.
This led to her having a good self-image and self-esteem. She can give love to hurting children as a
Primary teacher, as they feel her love for them.
18
Chapter 3: More Than Once
Power to be a Witness
On the day of ascension, The Lord Jesus Christ said that the apostles would receive power to be a
witness as the Holy Spirit would come upon them or be baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth.
• When you are born again of the Spirit, into the kingdom of God, you
receive the Holy Spirit on the inside of you to be a believer.
• When you are baptised with the Holy Spirit, you receive the Holy Spirit
upon you for service.
Now the words, authority and power, come from the same Greek word ‘Dunamis’.
When you receive the dunamis or power of God, you receive authority to move with power.
Jesus also said, ‘On that day, the believers would speak with new tongues’.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they
shall speak with new tongues;
The new tongues would be the way to stir up the power of the Holy Spirit to do the work of the
ministry.
VOLCANO FIRE!
In 1983 I came to live on the Big Island of Hawaii, which is called Hawaii. One morning, while I lay in
my bed, the whole house started to shake.
There was a rumbling sound.
It was an earthquake, 6.7 on the Richter scale. I quickly went out of the room. All the palm trees
were waving! Something had started on the earth.
Half a year later, 1984 smoke started to come out of the volcano; a sign of the things to come.
Then the big volcano called Mauna Loa erupted. The fire was spewing up into the sky. Burning lava
was running down the slopes.
Small towns near the volcano were in danger of fire.
Anything in the way of this erupting volcano was going to be consumed by the blaze. At night when
the darkness had set in; it was an awesome sight. You could see the yellow fire go up and the orange
collar of the burning lava running down the hills.
THE TREMORS
There can be tremors and shaking in our lives. This can be happening so we will look for true
purposes in life. God wants us to be witnesses for Him. He also wants us to be closer to Him in a
personal experiential relationship.
19
This will start to happen in a greater way for us as we are baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit and
fire.
A volcano is asleep when it is not spewing fire. It is a tourist attraction when it is spewing fire. People
come to the Hawaiian volcano from all over the world to see it burn. That is its purpose. The purpose
of a Christian is also to burn for God. We need to be baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire.
This is my testimony:
I had given my life to God when I was 21 years of age in a Baptist meeting where the stepbrother of
Elvis Presley spoke. His name is Rick Stanley, I was even baptised in a Baptist Church in the Rio
Grande Valley in New Mexico, USA. After three months I fell back into the world. I had never learnt
about true repentance and 100% surrender and so lack of power in my Christian life was a big part of
slipping away.
THE RESULT
Power fell on me. It was a God moment. I felt spiritual chains break. The freedom that true love
brings came in me and it overwhelmed me.
I felt clean, I felt washed. I felt I had power over sin.
Joy came into my heart.
Then I started to speak in a heavenly language.
Mat 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier
than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
20
In our day, there are great moves of the outpourings of the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
There was a great outpouring in Timor, Indonesia during the 1960s which I talked about earlier.
On a Sunday night, the Presbyterian believers were together in worship.
At that moment, a mighty wind came and a great flame of fire came upon their church building.
At once, the believers were baptised with the Holy Spirit, as He came upon them, they spoke with
new tongues.
They received the Holy Spirit upon them and in them to give them the power to do the ministry.
Then the gift of the Holy Spirit started to work through them as they started to prophesy and do
miracles.
After a few weeks, God’s Holy Spirit said that they had to go and preach the gospel to the
unbelievers. As they did, great miracles happened through them and many believed.
Act 2:2-3 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all
the house where they were sitting. (3) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire,
and it sat upon each of them.
Then it says that they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and started to speak with other tongues.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the
Spirit gave them utterance.
Act 2:15-16 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the
day. (16) But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
Through Apostle Peter, who was filled with this holy fire, God released light into the heart of the
listening Jews.
The effect was that God’s holy light, through the Holy Spirit, cut them to the heart with conviction
power.
21
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the
rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Due to the movement of the holy presence of the Holy Spirit, when they were called to repentance,
many repented.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
That day, 3000 were saved and baptised because they holy presence of the Holy Spirit moved to
bring them to repentance.
They didn’t fall away but the church grew from that day onward for they were cut to the heart by
God’s holy presence.
Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and
they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
More Lord
In the Toronto Blessing, they coined the phrase, ‘more Lord'.
Believers were receiving more and more of the Holy Spirit.
I was baptised with the Holy Spirit and fire in 1984 while in Hawaii, America.
This totally changed me.
The day after I was filled, the Holy Spirit said to throw my rock music away, I obeyed.
The next day He said to throw away my pornography magazines, so I did.
After this, I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit of love and also of glory.
I learnt to stay ages in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
I went to different places of outpourings in different places in the world, each time I received
different emphases of the Holy Spirit like boldness, the holy presence or the manifestations of the
Holy Spirit.
Be Ye Continuously Filled
In this school of the Holy Spirit, we want to emphasize that God is a spirit and that you need to seek,
pray and worship in the spirit.
In this way, I learnt to be filled with the Holy Spirit continuously.
The Bible says that we are called to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
22
Eph 5:18-19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the
Spirit; (19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord;
When we struggle and are burnt out we need to wait upon God and again be filled with the Holy
Spirit.
We are called to overflow, then sing and make new songs.
Tongues of Fire
When I was baptised in the Holy Spirit, I spoke in new tongues.
After three years of my real surrender, being filled with the Holy Spirit, I became a missionary with
YWAM in Ghana, Africa.
There were young believers there who prayed for hours in tongues.
There was a strong spiritual battle going on in that place against witchcraft.
I was staying in a tribal village, missionaries usually only stayed a short time in that area.
I learnt there, the importance of praying strongly in new tongues.
I learnt that we need to pray with tongues of fire.
Tongues of fire came upon the apostles on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem.
Witchcraft and false religious spirits can’t stand the Holy Spirit tongues of fire. They will flee or
sometimes repent and get saved.
1Co 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Why?
1. It is a power line to heaven
2. It spiritually fortifies you
3. It builds your faith (Jude 20)
4. It releases God's love in your life (Jude 21)
5. It releases God's mysteries in your spirit and by this, you receive spiritual insight.
6. You get released into the realms of visions and dreams
7. It is your breakthrough channel
8. It releases angels to do spiritual battle for you
23
These are a few of the benefits of praying in tongues which releases you to pray in the Holy Spirit.
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with
all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
God is spirit
Praying and singing in the Holy Spirit or tongues is your most spiritual way of prayer.
In this type of prayer, the Lord will help you to find His will.
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they
shall speak with new tongues;
Holy Fire
Why did the Holy Spirit come with fire on the day of Pentecost?
The answer is that our God is holy.
In Hebrew, the word for holy means morally pure, sacred and complete.
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within:
and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is
to come.
Act 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all
the house where they were sitting.
24
Wind, Fire and Life
The mighty wind of Ruach Elohim was blowing again.
This mighty wind of the Holy Spirit comes forth out of the divine nature of our Holy God who is a
consuming fire.
At the same time, the outworking was cloven tongues of fire on the heads of the apostles.
The outworking of the wind and fire of the Holy Spirit was that they were immersed or filled with the
Holy Spirit.
Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the
Spirit gave them utterance.
Therefore, the first work of the fire of the Holy Spirit is to fill us and baptise us so we can be a true
witness.
As the fire, which is released by Ruach Elohim’s breath, consumes our lives, rivers of living water will
result.
As I said before about Ruach Elohim’s breath is closely associated with life,
since there is no life without breath.
Fire burns out all that is in the way of God’s divine life and the breath of God through the fire
releases rivers of living water.
Now we feel alive and on fire.

Chapter 4: The Spirit of Life
Heaven’s Worship
Robin Harfouche was once taken by the Lord to see worship in heaven.
Today, God wants to teach us that we are citizens of heaven and how to function from heaven to
earth.
One day, the Lord took her to heaven where she saw how the saints worshipped and danced before
the Lord in heaven.
The heavenly saints were praising the Lord in heaven with all their spirit, soul and body out of
passion and love.
Then the Lord showed her the Last Day ministry on earth. The Lord said that when the worship of
earth becomes one with heaven, then the greatest miracles will happen.
She saw big fields with people praising the Lord.
On stage, the worship leaders were in tune with the worship of heaven and worshipped the Lord in
great unity.
The worship on earth was one with heaven’s worship. The result was the greatest miracles the world
had ever seen were happening.
Therefore, we need a shift of being natural-minded believers into
spiritual believers.
The reason is that the New Testament is based on the law of the Spirit of
life in Christ.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
This is because we have a new covenant and a new priesthood and therefore a new law.
This law says you must be born of the spirit.
Our Lord Jesus the Messiah was very passionate and excited about the spiritual side of His ministry.
This spiritual side of His ministry is the working of the Holy Spirit.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Through faith, Jesus said, the Holy Spirit would become rivers of living water inside a believer.
He introduced this at the Feast of Tabernacles.
On the seventh day of this feast, the Jews had a water libation ceremony in the temple.
26
On the eighth and great day, they prayed for rain.
Joh 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man
thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out
of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Change of Law
When our Lord was baptised by John the Baptist, the Spirit of the Lord God came upon Him without
limitation.
Joh 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it
abode upon him.
Joh 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by
measure unto him.
John the Baptist said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God who takes away our sin’.
Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which
taketh away the sin of the world.
John the Baptist’s father has been the high priest in the order of the Levitical priesthood.
John the Baptist would have been the next in line to be the high priest.
He knew that he was the transition for the New Testament priesthood that was about to start.
Therefore, John the Baptist proclaimed that a new priesthood had arrived and then Father God said,
‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased’.
The new priesthood is the priesthood according to the order of Melchizedek.
27
Heb 7:21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto
him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchisedec:)
When you study the book of Hebrews deeply you will understand that this whole
book is an explanation about the New Testament Priesthood.
The book of Hebrews says that if we receive a new priesthood, then we also receive
a new law.
Heb 7:11-12 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received
the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec,
and not be called after the order of Aaron? (12) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of
necessity a change also of the law.
The new law is the law of faith of the Spirit and love!
The law of the spirit of life releases the Holy Spirit rivers of life in us.
Through grace, by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, we are saved.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
The bible calls the law of faith-based on grace, for Jesus Christ brought grace and truth
which is based upon the New Covenant and the law of the spirit of life.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
The law of the Spirit of life in Christ has also imparted eternal life to us through
faith in Christ.
We were dead in our sin, yet now, through the Holy Spirit, we are alive in
Christ.
This school is here to teach you about the change of this law so you can learn
to live life more abundantly and to minister out of the fullness.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
As the essence of God the Father and God the Son lies in eternal life, therefore,
the depth of the Holy Spirit is the life of God.
Therefore the essence of the Holy Spirit is LIFE.
This is true for God is one.
Joh 6:63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I
have spoken to you are spirit and life.
28
This is a major key for us to learn to live in the presence of God.
As we learn this, we will also be able to minister the presence and life of God to others.
The presence of the Holy Spirit will help us to love our neighbour whereby we will fulfil the law of
love.
Rom 13:8,10 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled
the law. (10) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
The presence of the Holy Spirit will help us to love our neighbour whereby we will fulfil the law of
love.
Rom 13:8-10 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled
the law. (9) For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou
shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly
comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (10) Love worketh no
ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
It is important to understand that Moses brought the law but Jesus Christ brought grace and truth,
which come forth out of the fullness of the Spirit of God.
The Last Day saints are to learn to live and minister out of the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Joh 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
The story about Robin Harfouche, that we started this chapter with, challenges us to learn to come
up to these levels of the fullness in the Holy Spirit.
The law of Moses is here to show us that we are sinners, yet the law cannot
save us.
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law
is the knowledge of sin.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
The new covenant Christ brought is not a covenant of the written laws but of
the Spirit of God who pours out the Father’s love into our heart.
29
The Old Testament law was here to bring death and condemnation, for all have sinned. Yet
the New Covenant brings us life through the Holy Spirit.
2Co 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the
spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
This new New Covenant opens us up to access the glory of God in our lives today.
2 Co 3:9 (NLT) If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is
the new way, which makes us right with God!
When Moses saw the glory and received the law, his face shone, yet it all disappeared because the
law could not give life, it led to death.
Therefore, we needed a new priesthood with a New Covenant and the law of the Spirit of
life.
2 Co 3:7,8 (NLT) The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory
that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God,
even though the brightness was already fading away. 8 Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the
new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb.
Jesus said that only the Holy Spirit would give us eternal life as we
believe in Jesus Christ.
Joh 6:63 (NLT) The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very
words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
A Saying
If you only focus on the Word, you dry up.
If you only go with the Spirit, you blow up.
If you put the Word and the Spirit together, you will grow up.
30
Joh 6:63 (NLT) The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very
words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
Therefore, He warned us not to harden our hearts or put our heart on riches and earthly things.
Therefore, we are called to be heavenly-minded.
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the
right hand of God.
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water
that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
If we don’t learn to depend upon the Word and the Holy Spirit, we will stop our spiritual growth.
A religious mindset will stop the moving of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Therefore we are not to grieve or quench the Holy Spirit.
One day, the Lord showed me how to walk in personal revival fire daily.
Light comes forth out of the life of the Holy Spirit
Light also has fire in it or comes forth from the fire.
It says in the scripture if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with Him and in
this fellowship in and with the light of God is where revival fire is.
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Therefore, let the Holy Spirit convict you daily of your sin and let the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse
you daily.
Then walk in the fellowship with God and God the Holy Spirit daily and you will walk in personal
revival fire.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water.
31
Water is a CONDUCTOR.
This means that electricity can travel through water very fast.
The Holy Spirit brings the living water to us for Jesus came to give us eternal life.
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
This eternal life comes to us by the conductor of the water of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, the Holy Spirit releases rivers of living water inside our born-again spirit.
The deeper we go in our relationship with God
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon
many waters.
In the book of Joel, the promise was given about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
When we are baptised with the Holy Spirit’s river of living water, the breakthrough will be in our
lives.
These abundant life rivers of living water, release the prophetic voice of the Holy Spirit in our lives,
also visions and dreams.
Act 2:15-18 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the
day. (16) But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; (17) And it shall come to pass in the
last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (18) And on
my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall
prophesy:
It was water that had been into turned into spiritual wine that made it look like these men where
drunk.
It was the river of life that gave them great joy, for, in the presence of God, there is fullness of joy.
32
Out of this joy, the abundance of the Holy Spirit lives, the apostles heard the voice of God’s Spirit
and learnt to move according to function.
Visions and dreams were received as the Holy Spirit spoke like that to the apostles in the book of
Acts and guided them. This helped them to do and to accomplish the work of these ministers.
33
Chapter 5: Governed by the Holy Spirit
A New Dispensation
The presence of God comes to us through the river of the Holy Spirit.
We learnt in the last chapter to be open for the river of the Holy Spirit for it carries the voice of God.
We will learn in this chapter that we are in a new dispensation.
When the Lord Jesus Christ gave us the New Covenant, which comes to
us through faith in His blood, a new dispensation or ministry started.
1Co 9:17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the
gospel is committed unto me.
What is a dispensation?
It is a divinely ordained system prevailing at a particular period in history, or an act of providence.
The Old Covenant or Old Testament is the old dispensation.
The New Testament with the ministry of the Holy Spirit is the new dispensation.
The dispensation or ministry of the Spirit is here, at the same time the dispensation or the ministry
of grace is at work.
Christ came to bring grace.
Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Jesus Christ has received the government of God on His shoulders as He has been obedient to God
the Father to come to save us.
Isa 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his
shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting
Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and
with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Now He has poured out the Holy Spirit so we can be governed by the Holy Spirit.
Real Christianity is to learn to live in the Spirit.
34
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit.
2 Co 3:8 (AMP) Why should not the dispensation of the Spirit (this spiritual ministry whose task it is
to cause men to obtain and be governed by the Holy Spirit) be attended with much greater and more
splendid glory?
2 Co 3:17(AMP) Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty
(emancipation from bondage, freedom)
As we are governed by the Holy Spirit more and more, the outcome will be that we will walk in
greater realms of freedom.
Our true identity as sons is found in the love of God the Father for us.
It is the Holy Spirit who pours out that love of the Father in our hearts.
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Spiritual Sonship
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Growing in sonship is learning how to be led and governed by the Holy Spirit.
This is why we are called to be spiritual sons.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Many preachers, pastors and believers are rational believers. They think that by being a scholar of
the natural mind, they will be good Christians and be successful.
The Bible calls these believers to repent and change their ways.
For they are living a soulish Christian lifestyle.
35
We are called to be in the school of spiritual growth and spiritual sonship.
Why?
For we are called to worship the Father in spirit and truth and to be led and governed by the Holy
Spirit.
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in
spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
To worship the Father in the spirit and to be led by the Spirit, we need to be learners in the school of
the spirit.
Therefore, we are to learn to live from the Rhema of the Bible which comes to us through the Holy
Spirit.
The Lord makes the Bible come alive as we learn to listen to the voice and the
leading of the Holy Spirit.
In the years 1906 to 1919, the Azusa Street revival was running in Los Angeles.
Many children saw the glory of the Spirit of the Lord in the meeting.
The move that happened there was one of the greater moves of the Holy Spirit on earth which
needed to be approached spiritually, not mentally.
There were great miracles there, e.g. people with twisted bones were restored.
You could hear bones popping, everyone on cots or wheelchairs were healed.
Some of the greatest miracles were happening when the flames of the Holy Spirit were above the
building.
They said that the Holy Spirit fire was coming down from heaven into the building and Holy Spirit fire
was going up from the building. The two fires met in the middle.
Only if we get desperate in our prayer life, will we see things happen again.
We who are filled with the Holy Spirit need to press in to get more fire of the Holy Spirit. (Bartleman,
1982)
As believers, we learn to live in the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, for Jesus fulfilled the Law.
We are set free from the condemnation of the Law.
When we learn to live in the Spirit, we will experience great freedom, joy and peace for Jesus.
He has set us free from the Law of sin and death.
As we believe we are living in a higher life, the life in the freedom of heavenly Jerusalem.
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Now we are seated in heavenly places in the Spirit, where Heavenly Jerusalem or Sion and the
throne of grace are.
We are called to spiritual life and spiritual freedom.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
36
To stay free of condemnation and guilt, we need to learn to live in the Spirit.
This freedom grows as we learn to live and then walk in the Spirit.
Christ came from above to make us one with Him and the Father, so we can live in the freedom of
our divine life.
Christ’s blood sacrifices fulfilled the Law and now, through the new birth of the Holy Spirit, we
receive Christ’s righteousness.
As we learn to walk in the Spirit, we are walking in righteousness, free from condemnation and guilt.
Rom 8:3-4 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness
of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Therefore, we can now live in the spirit and under an open heaven and live in the freedom of
heavenly Jerusalem.
Apostle Paul wrote the book of Galatians to show the Jews that true freedom only comes by faith;
walking by faith and by the Holy Spirit.
The Jews said to be a believer, you also need to be circumcised.
Apostle Paul went against these teachings of legalism.
Gal 6:12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only
lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
Apostle Paul said, ‘No, salvation only comes through grace and faith in the sacrifices of Christ’s cross
and the Holy Spirit’.
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ,
even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the
works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
These false Jews wanted to take the freedom away from the believers in Galatia again.
Yes, they wanted to put them back into legalism and tried to stop them from living and walking in
the Holy Spirit.
Gal 2:4 (NLT) Even that question came up only because of some so-called Christians there – false
ones, really – who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom
we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulation.
Apostle Paul rebukes the believers not to be bewitched and lose the freedom from living in the Holy
Spirit.
Gal 3:1-3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before
whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (2) This only would I
learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (3) Are ye so
foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
37
Being Led by the Spirit
The important thing in this school of the spirit is to learn to be led by the Holy
Spirit.
For we are to learn to be governed by the Holy Spirit.
We have talked about living in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit.
Learning to be led by the Holy Spirit is learning to walk in the Spirit and to be
governed by the Holy Spirit.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Faith is the key to living and walking in the Spirit and to be governed by the Holy Spirit.
To grow up as a spiritual son is to learn to be led by the Holy Spirit.
One of the greatest blessings comes when you follow this path, you will experience the outpouring
of the great love of God the Father.
Your heart will learn to accept the Father’s embrace.
Rom 8:14-16 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For ye have
not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby
we cry, Abba, Father. (16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God:
Being led and governed by the Holy Spirit is being set free of the spirit of fear, it’s bondage and it’s
rejection.
Through the Spirit of the Lord, the orphan spirit and the spirit of abandonment are also broken so
that you can become a son.
The book of Romans and Galatians calls us to be led by the Holy Spirit to walk and to live by the
Spirit.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:16 (NLT) So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful
nature craves.
I studied the book of Acts to find out the keys to success that the first
church worked with.
Therefore, they were governed by the Holy Spirit.
One of the most important keys was that the first-century church was guided and led by the
Holy Spirit.
We also see this same key of being led by the Holy Spirit in the life of Apostle Paul.
38
Apostle Paul was first in the church of Antioch. Here the Holy Spirit spoke and said that Paul and
Barnabas had to be set apart for the mission.
Act 13:2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and
Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.
Then they were guided and sent out to Cyprus by the Holy Spirit.
• Listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and being led and guided and governed by
the Holy Spirit became the pattern of the first-century church.
It was one of the keys to their missionary success.
• When they were at Galatia, they wanted to preach in Asia; yet the Holy Spirit said no.
Act 16:6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden
of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
In the night, Paul received a vision of a man from Macedonia who said come.
Act 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed
him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
So they obeyed the vision of the Holy Spirit and went to preach the gospel in Macedonia.
This now opened up Europe and the gospel went west.
Many came to faith and powerful churches were started, such as Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea and
Ephesus.
We are called to be led by the Holy Spirit and we are called to live in the Spirit.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Learning to live in the spirit is learning to live in the presence and river of God.
We need to have a deep longing to daily experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Yes, it is all about a living relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
A lifestyle of worship and prayer is the basic foundation of life in the spirit.
Reading and meditating on the Bible scriptures deepen our life in the spirit.
We need to do all by and through faith, for faith is the way into the kingdom of God.
There was a prophetic word released that said, “The price for this generation is – will we live in the
spirit?”
Living in the spirit takes us beyond the veil.
Life in the spirit beyond the veil is living, seeing and experiencing the kingdom of heaven and God.
We are not only called to live in the spirit but also to walk in the spirit.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
39
The true way to live a Christian life of joy and its freedom is to learn to walk in the Holy Spirit.
To walk away from death, religion, condemnation and legalism of the soul realm and to learn to live
in the spirit of life.
Learning to walk in the spirit is learning to manifest the life of the Holy Spirit through your life.
The whole creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, which is the full outworking
of walking in the spirit.
Rom 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
The life of Jesus Christ and the New Testament apostles show us how to walk in the spirit.
They obeyed the voice of the Holy Spirit by faith and did what God asked of them, therefore, they
were governed by the Holy Spirit.
Walking in the spirit also incorporates the not following the works of the flesh but to keep it under
our feet, and where we struggle, to crucify it.
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit.
Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of
the body, ye shall live.
In this school of the Spirit, you have to learn about the power of the Spirit over
the flesh and a soulish life.
The day we are born again, we receive the divine nature of God within our spirit.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The day that we were baptised in the Holy Spirit, the divine nature in our spirit receives the
power to break free of the bondage of the flesh.
2Pe 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Now, through the freedom of the divine Spirit of life in Christ Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit,
we are called to grow up in Christ-likeness.
We are called to grow from glory to glory in the freedom of the Holy Spirit.
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the
same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The Spirit against the Flesh 2 and My Testimony of Ruling and Reigning
My testimony:
The Bible teaches us how to get victory over the works of the flesh and the old nature.
The answer lies in learning to live in the Spirit, to learn to walk in the Spirit, to be governed
by the spirit and to war in the spirit!
40
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
• I would then pray in tongues and the Holy Spirit and little by little, my whole mind became
clean.
• The strongholds in my mindsets were slowly losing ground.
2Co 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling
down of strong holds;) (5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
• I learnt to use God’s mighty spiritual weapons to dethrone the strongholds in my mind. This
is ruling and reigning through the spirit.
• Then, I later learnt to do prayer walks and speak aloud in tongues.
• I also learnt that in times of hardest warfare, victory came by playing on my guitar and
singing in the spirit.
• They are all weapons of victory in the spiritual world.
1Co 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
To be governed by the Holy Spirit is to rule and reign from Jesus Christ domain of victory. Out of this
victory, we bind the demons and loosen the angels to fight.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.
Romans 8
Romans 8 is a chapter that specifically shows us how the Spirit against the flesh works.
This is a good chapter to spend time studying.
41
Scriptural reference
We are a school of the Spirit, yet the foundation is all found in the Bible.
Therefore we are a school of the Word and the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
The law of life in the spirit is the outworking of the new dispensation where we are called to be
governed by the Holy Spirit.
It gives us power over sin, condemnation, guilt and weaknesses.
This dispensation of grace releases the power and moving of the Holy Spirit into our lives.
Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own
Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Our Lord Jesus came to bring us back into relationship to God and to take away our sin.
As Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we now can be born again of the Spirit and live in the Spirit.
We were not able to live a perfect life under the Law and need a Saviour who fulfilled the Law for us.
Now, through His forgiveness of our sin and lawlessness, we received His divine life in our spirit, so
we can overcome our sin and lawlessness.
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit.
42
Romans 8:5 Word and Spirit
Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the
Spirit the things of the Spirit.
Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Great peace and rivers of life are your blessings as you press into life in the Spirit.
The more you breakthrough, the more you will experience the presence of God in your life.
Life more abundantly is for the ones who live in the Spirit.
Rom 8:7-8 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither indeed can be. (8) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
The carnal mind, which is part of the flesh and the unrestored should, fights God and the things of
the Holy Spirit.
If we live in the flesh, we are quenching the Holy Spirit and stopping our spiritual life.
Therefore, we need to repent of living in the flesh and grow in living in the Spirit.
Rom 8:9-10 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (10) And if Christ be in you, the body
is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up
Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
The same power, that raised Jesus from the grave, lives in us.
Therefore, we have resurrection power to overcome our problems, sin and darkness.
43
Rom 8:12-13 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. (13) For if ye
live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall
live.
We are called to live in the Spirit, walk in the Spirit and, through faith, fight in the Spirit.
With our born-again infused resurrection life, we have to fight the works of the flesh so we will live.
Praying in tongues will release mighty power to do this.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit
of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Father heart of God is revealed in our heart or spirit through the Holy Spirit.
Life in the Spirit is the way to grow up in the Father heart of God.
The love of the Father is poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
Rom 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God: (17) And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer
with him, that we may be also glorified together.
44
Chapter 6: Open Heavens and the Presence of God’s Spirit
When Jesus Christ was baptised by John the Baptist, in the river Jordan, the heavens were opened.
Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens
were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
When this happened, the voice of the Father God said about His Son, ‘in Thee, I am well pleased”.
Father God was well pleased with His Son, with whom He is one.
When we learn to live and walk in the spirit, the heavens open up above our lives.
Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Here we see the kingdom of Heaven is all about relationships and the
presence of God.
The presence of God in:
A. Father God
B. Jesus Christ radiating the glory of God as John saw Him in heaven.
C. The Holy Spirit
D. The fullness as the 7 Spirits of God burning before the throne of God
When Jesus Christ was baptised by John the Baptist, in the Jordan River, He did what righteousness
required of Him and Jesus Christ was obedient to it.
John the Baptist was the son of the former high priest, Zachariah, and was in line to be the next high
priest.
Jews sent priests to him to ask him who he was.
He said he was the voice in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord.
Joh 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as
said the prophet Esaias.
They asked him why he baptised. He said that he did this because the one who will baptise you with
the Holy Spirit and fire is among you.
John the Baptist knew that Jesus Christ was going to be the priest
according to the order of Melchizedek.
Therefore, he had to prepare the way for this new priesthood order and
the Messiah, by baptising people as a sign of repentance.
Baptism of repentance, death and resurrection were part of the new
kingdom of heaven order of the priesthood of Melchizedek.
45
A Priesthood Order of the New
The whole New Testament is built upon the new priesthood order of Melchizedek.
This priesthood opens us up to have a relationship with God the Father, Jesus
Christ and the Holy Spirit.
This is why the heavens opened.
The veil of the temple was going to be removed by the blood sacrifice of Jesus
Christ.
Under the old Levitical priesthood, only the prophet and priests who were close to God. The citizens
of Israel stood far from the presence of God.
In the Melchizedek priesthood, every believer is called to have a relationship with God and learn to
live in God’s presence.
Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
Mat 3:16-17 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the
heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting
upon him: (17) And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well
pleased.
When William Branham was baptised, a great light shone upon him and after this, was used in great
signs, wonders and miracles.
So at says that the Holy Spirit was shining upon Jesus Christ as light, yes the light of God’s glory.
An important note that John gives us is that the Holy Spirit stayed on
Jesus or remained upon Jesus Christ.
46
Joh 1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon
whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth
with the Holy Ghost.
When the Holy Spirit remains, we call this the abiding presence of the
Holy Spirit.
Joh 1:32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it
abode upon him.
Jesus Christ who came as the High priest according to the order of Melchizedek was
after a relationship with Father God in the spirit and to walk in the presence of God.
The presence of God that came to Jesus Christ is the fullness of the Spirit of the Lord God.
John says that Jesus Christ received the Holy Spirit without measure.
Joh 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by
measure unto him.
Jesus Christ ministered out of the fullness or presence of the person of the Spirit of the Lord God.
The presence of fullness released the gift through Jesus Christ.
Today, we are called to come up higher.
Therefore, we are called to live in the presence of God.
Therefore, in today’s school of the spirit, we are called to minister out of the fullness and the
presence of the Spirit of God which comes through true relationship.
By learning to live in the Spirit, we will be able to do this.
Jesus Christ is our example as He ministered out of the fullness of God.
Joh 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
This is why, in the synagogue of Nazareth, Jesus Christ said that the Spirit of the Lord God was upon
Him.
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the
poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Out of the fullness of the Spirit of God, we are baptised with the Holy Spirit.
Through this, we have received the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Joh 1:16 (AMP) For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received (all had a share and we were
all supplied with) one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even
favour upon favour and gift (heaped) upon gift.
47
Out of the fullness, we received:
1. One grace upon another grace
2. Spiritual blessings
3. Favour upon favour
4. Spiritual gifts
Wherever Jesus Christ went, He said that the Spirit of the Lord God was upon Him.
He went throughout all the region of the Sea of Galilee and its synagogues, preaching the kingdom
of heaven and healing the sick and delivering those possessed of the devils.
Mat 4:23-25 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel
of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the
people. (24) And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that
were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those
which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. (25) And there followed him
great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea,
and from beyond Jordan.
When Jesus Christ said that the Spirit of the Lord God was upon Him, He was saying that He came to
preach the evangelistic message of salvation, its deliverance, healing, signs, wonders and miracles.
He proclaimed it in Nazareth and manifested it all over because He had the Spirit of the Lord God in
fullness on His life and didn’t quench Him.
It was the Father doing His works through the Holy Spirit as Jesus Christ was the vessel.
We are also called to minister out of the presence and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to set people free.
Out of the presence of the Holy Spirit, the voice of God also comes forth.
In this school of the Spirit, we are called to learn to live out of the presence of God.
The Bible says: out of the throne of God comes a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal.
This river of life out of the throne of God is the very presence of the Spirit of
the Lord God.
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb.
Out of the river of the fullness of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy Spirit come forth.
The Holy Spirit gives the 9 gifts.
The river of life starts with Father God and Jesus Christ on the throne.
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb.
This is why Jesus said that He would give you living water and it shall become rivers from your inner
man which is your born-again spirit.
48
Joh 7:36-38 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and
where I am, thither ye cannot come? (37) In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. (38) He that believeth on me, as
the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
So when He said rivers of living water, Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit.
Once He had risen and ascended to the throne, Father God gave it to Christ to release these rivers of
the Holy Spirit from the throne of the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, John says that out of His fullness, yes the fullness of the Holy Spirit, we received gift upon
gifts.
When Jesus was baptised, the voice of the father spoke out His approval and love over Him.
Here we see that God the Father and Jesus had an intimate relationship and the presence of Father
God came to Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
The highest plan God has for us is to walk in an intimate relationship with Him in the abiding
presence of the Lord.
Water is a picture of death to self and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
In the book of Psalms, it says that the voice of God is upon the many
waters and the God of glory thunders.
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon
many waters.
Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might
have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
49
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits;
to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon
many waters.
The smoke of the mist is like the glory cloud of God’s presence that brings forth the voice at Mt
Sinai.
We prayed with prayer warriors at the Zambezi River and bound the satanic powers.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.
Then we preached and saw the Holy Spirit save people and set them free in churches and on the
streets.
Even as we prophesied and spoke out the prophetic word through the Holy Spirit, healings and
deliverance happened.
One the day of Pentecost, the 120 were all filled with tongues of fire and spoke in new tongues.
When believers come together, the Lord wants them to learn to sing in tongues, which we call
singing in the spirit.
When all believers sing like this, it is as the sound of the voice of many waters.
Rev 14:2-3 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great
thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: (3) And they sung as it were a
new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that
song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
When we sing in tongues like this, God’s presence comes down like a waterfall and His voice will be
released.
50
An atmosphere for evangelism and signs, wonders and miracles will build.
I saw this happening in Singapore, in the 1980s when the Charismatic movement hit the earth.
Hundreds of believers were singing aloud in the spirit or tongues, and it was like waves of the Holy
Spirit flowed through the building. Then healings and miracles happened.
Apostle Paul said that he prayed more in tongues than any other believer.
1Co 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
1Co 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will
sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Why do we do this? God wants to bring forth the song of the Lord, called a new song.
We start by singing in the spirit and can end up with a new song in the native language.
This new song can unleash the thunder of God in the spirit realm.
In Psalm 149:6-9 it talks about this song and that it will destroy and bind evil powers and evil kings.
Now don’t confuse this with a message in tongues for that is a different operation of the Holy Spirit
gifts.
This song of the Lord is for worship, battle and breakthrough.
When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are called to be governed by the Holy Spirit so we will
rule and reign.
As we rule, reign and sing in the spirit, bind and loose, we will see the victory and a harvest of souls.
Signs, wonders and miracles will flow freely.
Psa 149:6,8 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;
(8) To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
When the voice of the Holy Spirit is heard and the moving of the Holy Spirit is amongst us, as we
pray and sing in the Spirit, freedom breaks through.
When the Holy Spirit breaks through, the kingdom of God comes and people are set free of evil
spirits.
Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
When Jesus ministered through the Holy Spirit, people were delivered from demons and healed.
Mat 4:23-24 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel
of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the
people. (24) And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that
were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those
which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
51
We are called to live and minister out of the presence of the Lord and in His presence is fullness of
joy and thereby freedom.
This presence of God’s Holy Spirit will also come as the heavens open up about our life, bringing us
into a deeper relationship with God.
It is an outpouring of glory and, in it, is the heart of God’s love.
52
Chapter 7: Faith and the Spirit of God
Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the
hearing of faith?
The answer to this question is: we received the Holy Spirit by the hearing of faith.
Many traditional believers have to still let these truths sink from their head to their hearts.
Many try to live the Christian faith by being good and make the Law as their standard on how to be
good.
Yet, the Law cannot save you and the Holy Spirit doesn’t come through being obedient to the Law, it
comes through the law of grace, faith and the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit comes to us by the hearing of faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ
has done for us.
Jesus said that by believing in Him as the Saviour of the world, the promises of the Holy Spirit would
come to you as you are born of the Holy Spirit.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Therefore, we can say that the Holy Spirit life comes to us by the hearing of
faith!
The receiving of the Spirit of God in a believer’s life is biblically called the promises to Abraham.
Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we
might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his
seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
The Law of Moses was given after the promises or blessings of Abraham.
Therefore, righteousness comes to us by faith in the promises of Christ, the seed of Abraham and
not through the Law of Moses.
53
The Promise of a Son to Abraham
Gen 12:1-2 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred,
and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: (2) And I will make of thee a great
nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Then God said that through Abraham, all the families of the Earth would be blessed.
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all
families of the earth be blessed.
Abraham believed God and he went on his way, left Ur and went to the land that God had promised
him.
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Joh 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Faith in the redeeming blood sacrifices of Christ gives us eternal life and releases the Holy Spirit in
our lives.
Therefore, Jesus Christ said that if you believe in Him, rivers of living water will flow from your belly.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water.
Therefore, faith releases the Holy Spirit in our lives because we believe that we are sealed with the
Holy Spirit of the promises.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation:
in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,
unto the praise of his glory.
54
Faith is the Key
In the last chapter, we talked about being led by the Holy Spirit, living in the spirit and
walking in the spirit and being governed by the Holy Spirit
Faith is the key for all.
We need faith to believe that the Holy Spirit wants to lead us and be the governor of our life.
We need faith to break through in living and walking in the spirit.
The Bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God and so, to live and move with the
Holy Spirit, we need faith.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that
he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Mat 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a
wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
He said that if we build on the sand in the days to come, our houses won’t stand.
Only building on the spirit is building on the rock for you can truly discern and stand.
The Word of God shows us who God is.
Standing on the promises of the Word of God as we grow in the image of Jesus Christ releases the
Holy Spirit to move in our lives.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they
believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the
word of faith, which we preach;
For us to learn to live in the spirit, we have to learn, through faith, to be strong in the Word.
Our faith that comes by hearing the Word and meditating on the Word, will open the spirit realm of
God and will help us to live in the spirit.
55
The Voice of the Holy Spirit
In an earlier chapter, we saw that the river of God, which is the presence of God, releases the voice
of God upon many waters.
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne
of God and of the Lamb.
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon
many waters.
Now, we are called to have faith, to hear the voice of God in our lives.
If we don’t believe and have faith in the promises of the Word of God that His sheep hear His voice,
we won’t hear it.
Therefore, we are to come out of our unbelief and believe that our heavenly Father wants to speak
to us through the Holy Spirit.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
The way the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God is as to how Jesus was led by hearing the voice
of the Holy Spirit.
This is why the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost, so we could hear the voice of the
Holy Spirit, receive visions, dreams and prophecies.
Act 2:17-18 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all
flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and
your old men shall dream dreams: (18) And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out
in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
It takes faith to access and live in the realms of the glory of the Holy Spirit, being led of the Holy
Spirit and seeing the Holy Spirit gifts in operation.
We hear God’s voice and instructions through the Holy Spirit, we obey and do it and use
faith to see the outcome of the voice of God.
The outcome may be a provision, healing or miracle, etc.
Gal 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it
by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
56
You see that he made a point here, that the working of the Holy Spirit and His miracles come
by walking by faith.
In 1 Corinthians 12, Apostle Paul teaches about the gift of the Holy Spirit.
One of the gifts is the gift of faith.
Through faith, we will see the miracles of the Holy Spirit function.
1Co 12:9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
So the answer is simple, the Holy Spirit miracles work through faith.
Brother Shambach
When I was just born-again of the Spirit, I went to a tent revival meeting.
That night, the Holy Spirit moved strongly as many American Indian people were delivered of occult
evil spirits by the moving of the Holy Spirit.
5 years later, I saw Brother Shamback again in a church meeting where he prayed, by faith, for a deaf
girl and she was healed.
Many miracles happened that day as this man believed in the Word of God and the gift of miracles
of the Holy Spirit did the works.
Luk 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into
the wilderness,
He was led by the Spirit to the wilderness to fast and pray for 40 days, He overcame the temptations
of Satan, the soul and the flesh.
After that time, He came forth out of the wilderness in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Luk 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him
through all the region roundabout.
Jesus set an example for us on how to learn, by faith, to be led by the Holy Spirit and
overcome weakness.
The result was that from then on, the great revival, healing and miracle meetings of Jesus Christ
started.
When Reinhard Bonnke and his team started to do big evangelistic outreaches, they first fasted 40
days.
57
After the fast, God moved with great miracles and millions were saved.
Jesus Christ then moved with great authority and power.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, many were delivered of demons and healed from their
sicknesses.
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about
doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Many of those that were sick were under the power of the devil and bound.
The power of the Holy Spirit upon his life delivered and healed them.
The week I was with Reinhard Bonnke and seated on the stage in the city of Tema, Ghana, he
preached a lot about faith and the Holy Spirit moved with great miracles.
Later, I went with the DTS team of YWAm on outreach, we fasted and prayed.
The Holy Spirit spoke to me which signs and miracles He was going to do and, so by faith, on the
outreach I spoke out these words and God did those miracles.

Chapter 8: The Cross and the Miracle Power of the Holy Spirit
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.
Therefore the redeeming blood sacrifices of Jesus Christ is the foundation where through the power
of the Holy Spirit comes to us and works through us.
This is a key of the kingdom: to see the Holy Spirit ministry released in your life.
Faith in the blood sacrifice of the cross releases Spirit and power in our lives.
1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
Apostle Paul said he was determined not to know anything else than Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
He also said that he boasted in the cross of Christ.
He understood, lived out and ministered out of the redeeming sacrifices of our Lord and Christ’s
resurrection power.
He worshipped and loved our Lord deeply for His redeeming work.
In and through his ministry, he demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit by
signs, wonders and miracles that were released because of Christ’s
redemption.
1Co 2:3,5 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. (5) That your faith
should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
He said the Spirit and power that was revealed through his ministry came through God’s wisdom
which is Christ crucified.
For the redeeming work of the cross releases resurrection, power and the move of the Holy Spirit.
When Apostle Paul was ministering in Ephesus, special miracles happened.
Act 19:11-12 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: (12) So that from his body were
brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil
spirits went out of them.
59
God’s power was on Apostle Paul in a special way, the anointing would be so strong that his
handkerchiefs or aprons were sent to the demonically bound.
The result was that they were set free of the demon because of the anointing.
Paul did not only preach, but He was also used by God to demonstrate the power of God.
He wanted people’s faith to be built upon the power of God, not upon the words of wisdom of
worldly knowledge.
Therefore, wherever he came, there was a demonstration of the Holy Spirit and power.
1Co 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
This power was released through the preaching of God’s wisdom which is the cross of Jesus Christ.
The preaching of the cross of Jesus was for Jews, a stumbling block and Greeks, foolishness.
For the people who came to believe, through the signs and wonders and for the believers, it was the
power of God.
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.
1Co 2:7-8 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God
ordained before the world unto our glory: (8) Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had
they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
As the cross was God’s wisdom and humility for us, Satan did not understand it.
It says that Satan had to know.
He didn’t know or understand that Christ’s redemption plan of the cross would destroy him.
When we speak about the cross, we talk about the time between Gethsemane and the resurrection.
60
Col 2:14-15 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us,
and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (15) And having spoiled principalities and powers,
he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Satan was defeated by the blood of Calvary and Christ took his keys on the day of resurrection.
Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the
keys of hell and of death.
The purpose for which Christ came to the earth was to destroy the power of Satan and Satan’s
power over man, to give us eternal life.
• Our Lord Jesus Christ came to preach the gospel of the kingdom of God.
• He also instructed the disciples to preach the gospel of the kingdom and to do the signs,
wonders and miracles of the kingdom.
Mat 10:7-8 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. (8) Heal the sick, cleanse
the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Therefore Apostle Paul says that the kingdom of God consists of power.
1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
It is good to read and study 1 Corinthians 1 through to 4. For Apostle Paul explains the
message of the cross and its power.
In Chapter 4, he again talks about power and the kingdom of God.
By putting these chapters together:
• We can say that the power of God’s kingdom comes to us and works
through us because we believe in the redemption of blood sacrifices of
Christ Jesus.
• Therefore, the blood of Jesus Christ is our foundation whereby the Holy
Spirit and power works through the believers.
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which
are saved, it is the power of God.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
The old natural man and its mindset are based on pride, the work of the flesh
and worldly wisdom.
• The true wisdom comes to us through the message of the cross of Christ.
61
• Therefore, true spiritual discernment is also based upon God’s divine
nature given to us because of the redemption.
In the Last Days, many false miracle workers and false prophets will arise, even in churches.
The way to truly know what is going on is to ask the question,
‘Is their life and lifestyle centred on the cross of Christ?’
Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Growing Up Spiritually
The deep things of God are revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.
1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
even so, the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
The Holy Spirit seeks out the deeps thing of God and wants to teach us these things so we
can grow spiritually.
These spiritual insights and wisdom come only to us as we let the
message of the cross work deep in our lives.
1Co 2:12-13 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God;
that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we
speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
The job of the Holy Spirit is to teach you the things Jesus Christ has done for you on the
cross.
Yes, the Holy Spirit lifts Jesus Christ, who is God and who is the Logos and Rhema word of
God.
Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I
have said unto you.
A Fallen Preacher
There was a big-time preacher in Europe in the 1980s and 1990s. He had a big following.
He preached about faith and victory.
There was no preaching on the cross of Christ and true repentance and brokenness.
Now he is a Roman Catholic priest.
Mary doesn’t save and we are condemned to hell if we bow before idols and statues.
62
Holy Spirit moves through Faith in Christ and the Cross
Apostle Paul teaches that the true power of God is released for repentance, salvation and
miracles when we preach the cross and Christ crucified.
1Co 2:2,5 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him
crucified. (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of
God.
Apostle Paul also warns us what will stop the moving of the Spirit.
He says by believing in the Law for salvation will stop the move of the Holy Spirit.
The Law is here to convict the sinner of sin and only faith in Christ can save us.
Rom 3:20,28 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight:
for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (28) Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by
faith without the deeds of the law.
Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead
in vain.
Gal 3:1-3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth,
before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (2) This
only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of
faith? (3) Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the
flesh?
The working of the Holy Spirit comes to us through having faith in the finished work of Jesus
Christ.
This is God’s power whereby the power of witchcraft, spells, magic and the works of the
flesh are broken.
Many pastors and 5-fold ministers have never been delivered of spells, magic powers or
divination, therefore, they can’t move in the Holy Spirit’s power with ease.
63
It is like the well in their heart is blocked by a wall or rock.
They need deliverance.
Then other ministers use these counterfeit demonic powers to do ministry and thereby
deceive the believers.
Therefore, they all need to be delivered by the blood of the cross of Christ and the power of
the Holy Spirit.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and
the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and
gave himself for me.
We, as believers, now are called to daily die to self and confess our sins at the cross of
Calvary.
If we say we don’t sin, we are deceived and already under deception.
1Jn 1:8,10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in
us. (10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
If we daily confess our sin, we will receive daily forgiveness of our sins, shortcomings and
faults.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness.
1. The Holy Spirit will be poured out in our lives more and more.
2. The crucified life makes way for us to live and walk in the spirit.
Gal 5:24-25 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
(25) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
4. It releases the hearing of faith whereby the Holy Spirit is free to move in
our lives.
5. Signs, wonders and miracles will start to happen through our ministry.
Apostles John and Peter understood the power of the resurrection and preached the name
64
of Jesus Christ and the resurrections. They saw great miracles because of it.
Act 3:14-15 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted
unto you; (15) And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof
we are witnesses.
Apostle Paul deeply understood that living the crucified life and seeing
the power of Christ’s resurrection being displayed as signs and wonders
happened as he preached Christ’s death and resurrection.
Therefore, he wanted to have full victory over his failures and sins.
He was fighting to be dead to self, yet said he wasn’t there totally.
Php 3:10,12 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of
his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death (12) Not as though I had already
attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for
which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
65
Chapter 9: Spirit Versus the Soul
As believers, we are called to live in the grace, love, and peace (or shalom) of God’s Spirit.
In this place, there is no condemnation.
To stay in that place is to learn to live in the Spirit.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Psa 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the
Almighty.
The law of the Spirit of life has set us free from the works of the flesh, condemnation and dead
works. So we can learn to live and walk in the Spirit.
Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and
death.
Being baptised in the Holy Spirit gives you the power to live and walk in the Spirit.
Most Christian believers don’t live in the Spirit but live their life in the flesh or soulish realm.
1. First that we need to be born again of the Spirit for there is a New Covenant and a New
Priesthood.
2. Then that we need to receive the power of the Holy Spirit by the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
3. That we have entered into the abundant life through the Spirit of life by the new priesthood
of Melchizedek.
4. That we, as spiritual people, need to overcome the work of the flesh.
5. That the deeper the cross works, the greater the Holy Spirit will flow.
6. That faith is the way to grow in the freedom of the Spirit.
7. That we need dependence on the Holy Spirit to grow in the spirit.
66
Nicodemus
Nicodemus was a different kind of Pharisee. One who was open to worship the Father in spirit and in
truth.
He understood that God was doing miracles through Jesus Christ.
Joh 3:1-2 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: (2) The same
came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for
no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell
whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
By doing so, we will be a channel in the Spirit whereby God does His kingdom miracles.
Nicodemus learnt from Christ how to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.
He was being made ready as a miracle worker.
We have talked about the battle between the flesh and the spirit.
The scripture clearly shows this battle in Romans 8.
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but
after the Spirit.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing
even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart.
Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Transformation
67
We are called to be transformed from glory to glory.
When we do so, we will start to experience God’s presence more frequently daily.
Transformations lay in the spirit realm.
We need to cultivate a hunger to live in the spirit to be transformed by the Holy Spirit.
2Co 3:17-18 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (18) But
we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
It is the Spirit of the Lord who does this transformation from the inside out.
To get there and to live there, we need to hunger to be in the presence of the Lord God.
For it is not by might, nor by power but by the Spirit of the lord that the troubles and the mountains
in our lives will be removed.
What is stopping us from walking with God’s Spirit and experiencing His love,
goodness, mercy and kindness is the soul realm.
As little children and as we grew up, we were wounded in our souls. This causes the soul to become
wounded and therefore very active, especially in a soulish way.
For us to live and walk in the Spirit, our soul needs to be healed and
restored.
Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
The soul is the place where strongholds and demonic spirits can hide, which need to be
removed for our mind is part of our soul.
2Co 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling
down of strong holds;) (5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
In a ministry in Brisbane, they reach out to gang members, many have come to Christ, get baptised
and filled with the Holy Spirit.
Yet many have fallen away.
I help with the discipleship program there, and since I have started to take people through
deliverance ministry, things have improved.
A Christian can’t be possessed of a devil, yet can be oppressed by a devil in their soul.
This can be because of occult involvement, traumas, sins or generational curses in their life.
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about
doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
68
Three Parts
1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul
and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The bible teaches a holistic approach, which means that God wants to touch all three parts.
All three parts are beautifully made in God’s image.
God wants to restore the whole being.
Our body, soul and spirit are not evil in itself, but because of the fall of man in sin, we need to be
born again.
Born again is of the spirit.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the
Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Our spirit becomes new and from within our spirit, our soul is being transformed into the likeness of
Christ.
The Holy Spirit grows the fruit of the spirit in our spirit through union and abiding in Christ.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Our body can also be healed from sickness as Christ took our infirmities and by His stripes, we are
healed.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the
chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
The Soul
Mind vs Spirit
In today’s church, many don’t live in the spirit because their mind stops them.
The mind is part of the soul and many have a rational approach to life.
Reason is a major idol in the lives of believers and this stops our faith.
We are called to be transformed by the renewal of our mind by living by faith and in the spirit.
Rom 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not
69
conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what
is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
The bible teaches us that we are called to be led by the spirit, which comes into our life through faith
in Christ.
Therefore, every stronghold in our mind, which is part of our soul, needs to come down.
Emotions and Sensuality
We are not to live by our emotions, which is led by our feelings, for we have been instructed
to live by faith.
Our emotions are part of our senses, which can lead us to live a sensual Christian life.
Sensual, in this context, involves the gratification of the senses and physical pleasure, often sexual
but not only sexual.
Harlots came to Jesus Christ. They knew that living a sensual, sexual lifestyle was not good but sinful,
and they repented.
Many Scribes and Pharisees lived a mental and religious lifestyle of sensuality, yet they did not
repent.
They wanted to stay with the old Levitical priesthood which felt familiar.
Jesus Christ called for repentance for the New Priesthood had come.
Mat 21:28-32 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son,
go work to day in my vineyard. (29) He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and
went. (30) And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and
went not. (31) Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus
saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God
before you. (32) For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but
the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that
ye might believe him.
This sensual lifestyle that many follow, stops them from living in the spirit.
This sensual emotional Christian lifestyle is part of living in the flesh.
We are called to crucify this fleshly, sensual emotional lifestyle.
Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life
which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for
me.
Will
Mat 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be
possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
He fought with His will to the place of surrender to the will of the Father.
Yes, He fought so hard that He sweated blood.
70
Therefore the Hebrew writer challenges us to fight and surrender our will to overcome sin as Jesus
did.
Heb 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us
lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race
that is set before us, (2) Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that
was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the
throne of God.
Gal 5:16 (AMP) But I say, walk and live (habitually) in the (Holy) Spirit (responsive to and controlled
and guided by the Spirit); then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of
human nature without God).
The Flesh
1. The fleshly body sins: they are like stealing, murdering, adultery, fornication, idolatry
etc.
2. The soulish or sensual sins: they are pride, hate, anger, sexually perverted lust,
jealousy, sensuality etc.
About 90% of the Christians today live a Christian sensual lifestyle and are, therefore, living in the
permissive will of God.
Rom 8:6 (AMP) Now the mind of the flesh (which is the sense and reason without the Holy Spirit) is
death (death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter). But the mind
of the (Holy) Spirit is life and (soul) peace (both now and forever).
A sensual Christian lifestyle is mostly built upon the emotional and rational Christian
lifestyle.
Then they also live for I, myself and me.
The right way is to learn to live and walk in the spirit.
Gal 6:8 (AMP) For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap
decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Therefore only 10% are doing the perfect will of God by living in the Spirit.
Most Christians fall back into a comfortable lifestyle on earth.
71
God’s plan, however, is to learn to live through faith in the Holy Spirit, in the presence of God.
We enter this place by surrendering to His will and entering the rest of God.
Heb 4:1 Let us, therefore, fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should
seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth, therefore, a rest to the people of God.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Our heart is connected with the soul and it’s emotions, feelings and our spirit.
Our spirit is born again, our soul needs to be transformed.
Many times we say that we have given our heart to the Lord.
Why is this so, because Jesus Christ said that the heart is the seat of sin.
Mat 15:18-19 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they
defile the man. (19) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications,
thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
When Loren was a young boy, he had an open vision of waves of young people evangelising the
world.
Later in life, he started schools of discipleship.
These young disciples go through the school and then travel around to different parts of the world to
do evangelism.
In these schools, the main topic they teach is to learn to hear the voice of God.
Yes, you have to discipline yourself so your spirit learns to hear the voice of God.
Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice.
72
Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him:
for they know his voice.
In this school of the Holy Spirit, you are to become a disciple who disciplines his senses, so you can
learn to hear the voice of God.
The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit, for the spirit of man is the candlestick of God.
Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
Rev 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I
heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee
things which must be hereafter.
One of the senses of the soul is seeing, which psychic occultist use.
Therefore, we need to learn to put that kind of seeing to the cross of Christ as we learn to believe
and walk by faith.
We need deliverance of these false occultic seeing powers.
The spirit of man needs to learn, through faith in the word of God, to rule over the soul’s emotions,
mindsets and senses.
73
a. Seeing
b. Hearing
c. Feeling or touch
d. Tasting
e. Smelling
Heb 12:27-29 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken,
as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. (28) Wherefore we
receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear: (29) For our God is a consuming fire.
Yes, the bible teaches the message of the cross, faith and living and walking in the spirit, so we will
be true followers or disciples of Jesus Christ.
1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.
When we walk this walk of faith, the power of the Holy Spirit will be released in our lives.
For the message of the cross is the power of God for those who believe.
Miracles in Malawi
In 2019, I was preaching from a truck in the market grounds in Malawi, Africa.
We worshipped, sang and preached the message of the cross. The Holy Spirit moved.
Through the Holy Spirit, He gave me words of knowledge and sick were healed.
The Holy Spirit touched many with power for deliverance and salvation.
Seeing that, being used like that gives us joy in the Holy Spirit and a fulfilled life.
You can learn to do the same as you learn to live in the Spirit.
Blind Faith
When it comes to the things of the Spirit, you can’t use our soulish senses.
Walking in the spirit comes by walking by faith.
When you walk by faith, you don’t see it, yet you can declare it.
You never heard it before, yet you believe it.
You haven’t seen Jesus, yet you believe that He is real.
Apostle Thomas said, ‘Unless I see Him and touch His wounded side, I won’t believe’.
Therefore, through faith, we are to live and walk in the spirit.
74
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
We are to surrender our soulish senses as we learn to walk by faith in the Spirit.
The next step is to train our spiritual senses.
When we start to walk in the spirit, we start to develop and mature our spiritual senses.
These spiritual senses help us when we start to minister out of the 9 gifts of the Holy Spirit.
To show that this is the biblical road to spiritual growth, we give you an insight.
Apostle Paul wanted us to grow in close fellowship with Father God, who he called the Father of
Glory, and therefore says, that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened.
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
75
We hear God’s voice and we know God’s voice.
4. Spiritual taste.
A taste for spiritual things.
When you grow in God, you know His goodness is so beautiful and how nice it tasted.
The bible says to taste and see for the Lord is good.
Psa 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
This tasting will give us true discernment.
5. Sensing or spiritual smelling.
A nose is used if something is good or rotten. This sensing or smelling gift works with the gift
of discernment.
1Co 12:10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of
spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

Chapter 10: Going Deeper Within
As A Deer
When God had turned my life around and I was baptised with the Holy Spirit, I learnt a very beautiful
song.
The song was called, ‘As a deer pants for the water, so my soul longs for you’.
This song was written to the words of Psalm 42:1,8
Psa 42:1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the
water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Psa 42:8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song
shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
The deer is longing for the water just like we, as believers, are longing for the living waters of the
Holy Spirit.
Then it says, ‘deep calls to deep’.
Why does it say that?
It says that because the Holy Spirit wants to teach us the deep things of the Lord.
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the
Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
As we learn these deep things, then we position ourselves for the moves of God’s Spirit in our lives
as His waves of glory flow through our lives.
1Co 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so,
the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Therefore, we are to go deeper within ourselves for our spirit has to instruct our soul.
For the Holy Spirit speaks the things of God to our spirit within us.
1Co 2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the
deep things of God.
77
The Deep Things of God
Rev 4:8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within:
and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is
to come.
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven
lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Above all of this, the Holy Spirit is searching within the godhead, the deep
things of God.
Why is this so?
In the Godhead, Jesus is the head of the church.
The Holy Spirit teaches what Jesus wants to say, teach and do.
Jesus Christ, therefore, gives counsel to the Holy Spirit as to what to do.
1 Co 2:10 (AMP) Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the
(Holy) Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound
and bottomless things of God (the divine counsels and things hidden beyond man’s scrutiny
Therefore we are to learn from God’s Spirit to search for the deep things of God with our spirit.
Therefore, as the deer pants for the water, so our spirit needs to learn to receive the deeper rivers of
the living waters of the Spirit of God.
One of the great hindrances to the work of the Holy Spirit can be intellectualism.
If we only go by our intellect and our reason, we kill our faith and stop the move of the Holy Spirit.
Madame Guyon, who influenced many mighty preachers such as John Wesley, Count Zinzendorf,
and others, says something about being intellectually-minded.
‘If you turn toward God merely by your intelligence, you may enjoy some spiritual contemplation but
you will never into an intimate union with God.
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit,
and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
All working is in the Spirit. On the other hand, if you are led by a Lord who is deep within your spirit,
you will be conducted by a blind abandonment and not by intelligence.’ (Guyon, 1999 p.6)
78
The Bible says that mature sonship lies by being led by the Holy Spirit as we hear Him speak to our
spirit.
Rom 8:14,16 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (16) The Spirit itself
beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
God is a Spirit
One of the ways to grow in the deep things of the Spirit of God is true worship.
Our God is a Spirit and wants to be worshipped in spirit and truth.
Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
In this and through this true worship, the deeper rivers of the living waters are
released in our lives.
When Jesus spoke to the woman at the well, He said that He would give her living
water and there He also said that God is Spirit.
The connection here is living water and spirit.
The living water comes through the Holy Spirit in our lives and as we worship the
Father in Spirit, these rivers will be released in greater streams and will start to
overflow us.
Therefore the great release of the Holy Spirit will come in our lives as we worship the
Father in spirit and truth.
These rivers of the Holy Spirit will also release the deeper revelations, understanding and
wisdom in our lives.
Through these rivers of the Holy Spirit, the manifest glory and its power, signs, wonders and
miracles will be released.
A harvest of souls will also be harvested for we are rebuilding the fallen hut of David,
whereby the nations shall be saved.
When I was a young spirit-filled believer, a friend of mine thought he had a word of prophecy for
someone.
The effect of the word brought a bad result and therefore, it was a word of divination and not
prophesy.
It shocked me and therefore, I needed to understand the deeper things of the Spirit of God and
discernment so that I could understand how it all worked.
I then studied a book of a Bible teacher and learnt that our spirit is the candle (or candlestick) of the
Lord.
Pro 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
79
When we seek the counsel of the Lord and worship, it is easier to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit for
we are already worshipping with our spirit.
The presence and voice of God are also released in worship.
Brother Schneider
We know, as we taught earlier in the chapter, that we are to worship God with our spirit.
The harder thing is to learn to see God with our spirit.
Our emotions, intellect and the busyness of life make it hard to become still and quiet in prayer.
Yet the Bible says that we are to seek God with our spirit within.
Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me, will I seek thee
early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
When the world around us shakes, the Bible says, ‘Be still and know that I am God’.
Knowing is of the Spirit.
With our spirit, we know or have an inner witness, that we are children of God.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Therefore, we need to quiet our emotions in internal worship and prayer as we seek God.
Then God’s Spirit is enthroned in our worship and His presence and glory will fill the atmosphere.
80
Quieting my Soul
Naturally, I am a very enthusiastic person and God can move on our emotions by the anointing, yet
God is found within our spirit.
It was, therefore, a hard road for me to learn to seek God with my spirit.
I first learnt to pray aloud in tongues, which is praying in the Spirit and this is very important.
Then, in Africa, there was an American preacher at the discipleship school, and he taught about
seeking God in prayer within your spirit.
She taught about Teresa of Avilla who practised the presence of God by seeking God in quiet prayer
with our spirit.
After that time, I was on a YWAM base in Togo, I was between a rock and a hard place, this brought
more brokenness in my heart.
From then on, I learnt to practice the presence of God in soft worship in the Spirit and seeking God
in prayer with my spirit.
This brought about many transformations in my life, as I sought the Lord within, which is also in His
kingdom.
I grew in a much deeper intimate fellowship with God.
Now I see the move of the Holy Spirit constantly as I minister from the river of God from
within.
This is the glory within.
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water.
As we have learnt to quiet our souls and seek God with our spirit, we are ready to hear the voice of
God more clearly.
As sheep, we are called to learn to hear the voice of God.
Jesus said, ‘My sheep know my voice’.
Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him:
for they know his voice.
Therefore, we are called to practice hearing the voice of God and learning to live in His presence.
Today, God wants us to learn to pray from heaven and bring Christ’s victory down to earth.
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
81
I had an encounter in the spirit realm as I went deeper into the Father heart of God.
The Lord then gave me a song about this scripture.
We receive His love to give it away.
Now God wants us to learn to come before Him at His throne in worship in heavenly places.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find
grace to help in time of need.
There, in the spirit in the heavenly realm, we are called to see and hear what God wants us to pray in
worship or worship in prayer.
This is the harp and bowl worship and prayer model which we find in Revelations 5:8.
Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before
the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of
saints.
82
Chapter 11: The Knowledge of the Glory
Hab 2:14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover
the sea.
God’s plan for our lives as believers who live and walk in the Spirit, is to bear fruit.
The Lord gave us a parable about bearing fruit and it’s importance.
Luk 13:6-9 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he
came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. (7) Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard,
Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why
cumbereth it the ground? (8) And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I
shall dig about it, and dung it: (9) And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it
down.
God is looking for the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives and ministry as we abide in Him.
The fruits of the Spirit come forth out of the attributes of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
A big part of the glory is the attributes of God.
In the Greek, the word for glory is doxa which means all that God is and all that He has.
Therefore, the glory of God reveals the heart of God.
In Hebrew, the word Kabod is used. This means the heavy presence of God.
The greatest encounter of the glory of God in the Old Testament is when this was revealed to Moses.
Moses was hungry to know God’s glory which reveals God’s heart.
Moses saw God’s glory when God revealed His attributes to Moses.
God said that He was:
a. Merciful
b. Gracious
c. Patient or slow to anger
d. Compassionate
e. Abundant in goodness
f. Loving-kindness
g. Truth
All through the scriptures, we can learn about God’s attributes and these attributes bring forth the
fruit of the spirit in our lives.
83
Therefore, if we learn to live in the glory of God, it is easier to bring forth the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Of late, I was challenged to search the scriptures about the attributes of Jesus Christ.
Jesus and the Father are one in nature and, therefore, we see the same attributes of God the Father
in the life of Jesus Christ.
Joh 14:9-10 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known
me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the
Father? (10) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak
unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Mat 11:29 (AMP) take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly)
in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for
your souls
Mat 10:13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your
peace return to you.
In shalom, there is healing, blessings and rest for the weary soul.
The other attributes we see in Jesus Christ life are love, mercy, compassion, grace, truth and slow to
anger.
As God is one God, the bible shows that the Holy Spirit has the same nature and the same attributes
as Father God and Jesus Christ.
One of the great attributes that we see in the Holy Spirit is that He is called the comforter.
Joh 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with
you for ever;
The Holy Spirit ministers to us the attributes we see in the Father and Jesus Christ.
He pours out the love of God in our heart and therefore the Holy Spirit is also love.
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
84
Therefore, we are called to have fellowship with the Holy Spirit to experience and become one with
all the attributes of God’s glorious nature.
2Co 13:11-14 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace;
and the God of love and peace shall be with you. (12) Greet one another with an holy kiss. (13) All
the saints salute you. (14) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
It says that the love, grace and shalom (peace) shall be with you.
How will it be with you? Through the fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
For the Holy Spirit’s attributes are grace, love and shalom (peace).
I encourage you to study the Bible about God’s attributes.
This will enrich you very much, and you will grow very much spiritually.
1Pe 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be
revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
When we learn to walk in the Spirit, we are also called to encounter the glory realm of the Holy
Spirit.
You can learn more about this in my book, “The Glory Realm”.
Out of the heart of God and His glory, we are called to bring forth the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
The Holy Spirit is the spirit of glory and in His fullness can come down as a glory cloud.
In these last 2 chapters, we are going to learn about the fullness, yet the glory cloud is a
manifestation of the fullness.
God is Spirit and when we worship Him in spirit and truth, the glory cloud of the Spirit can manifest
in our midst.
When King Solomon had built the temple and the Ark of God’s presence was there, the priests
praised and worshipped before God’s presence. The glory cloud came down.
2Ch 5:13-14 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be
heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and
85
cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy
endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; (14) So
that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled
the house of God.
Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away,
the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
The bible says that without being holy in our lifestyle, we will not see God.
Heb 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Therefore, in the school of the Holy Spirit, it is of great importance to grow up in a lifestyle of being
holy in our conduct.
We can also call this:
a. Discipleship
b. Character building
c. Integrity
2Pe 1:4-10 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might
be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through
lust. (5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue
knowledge; (6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience
godliness; (7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. (8) For if
these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (9) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar
off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. (10) Wherefore the rather, brethren,
give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
86
Walking in the Light
One way of growing in a lifestyle of holy conduct or a pure character is learning to walk in the light.
1Jn 1:5-7 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is
light, and in him is no darkness at all. (6) If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in
darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: (7) But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1Jn 1:3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship
with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
Wherever Charles Finney went to preach, God’s Holy Spirit moved with great conviction power.
He was also a man of deep prayer.
The Holy Spirit would bring a deep burden upon his heart whereby he would be groaning and
weeping for lost souls for hours.
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
It is said that 80% of the souls saved under his ministry stayed saved.
Many who were saved became preachers.
One day, Charles was invited to an area where people did not believe.
The people around called it the town of Sodom because of the hardness of heart. The man who
invited him to come was called Lot.
Charles didn’t know that the town’s name was Sodom. The Lord showed him to preach about Sodom
and Gomorrah and that the Lord was going to destroy the place.
He said you have never had a religious meeting in your neighbourhood.
87
“I then applied that fact”, he said, “as I thrust at them with the sword of the spirit with all my might”.
In a few moments there seemed to fall upon the congregation an instantaneous shock. The power
from on high came down upon them in such a torrent that they fell from their seats in every
direction.
Everyone was crying or groaning for mercy upon his soul.
Salvation
Charles then said,” They paid no further attention to me or my preaching. I tried to get their
attention but I could not”.
Charles then changed his strategy and preached the way of salvation one by one in their ear.
He said, in a few moments, he seized Jesus by faith and then broke in prayer out loud for those
around him.
“I then turned to another with the same result, and then another and another.”
The conviction of the Holy Spirit stayed in the place so Charles had to pray with others there the next
day. (Finney, 2005)
In this school of the Holy Spirit, we need to let the holy conviction fire of the Holy Spirit burn in us.
This will transform us.
Once we are changed by this holy fire, we are called to go out and be a witness to the lost.
We are called to win the lost by praying out of God’s burden for them and are called to go and
preach the gospel to them.
88
Chapter 12A: The Holy Spirit’s Ministry
Today, in this school of the Holy Spirit, we want you to go into the deeper ministry of the Holy Spirit.
The Fullness
Our Lord Jesus Christ’s ministry came forth out of the fullness.
Joh 1:16(AMP) For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received (all had a share and we were
all supplied with) one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even
favour upon favour and gift (heaped) upon gift.
What is fullness?
Fullness is:
1. The holy, majestic presence of God
Majesty is the authority of sovereign power.
2. The richest measure of His divine presence
3. The 7 Spirits of God is the fullness of the Holy Spirit
Eph 3:19(AMP) (that you may really come) to know (practically, through experience for yourselves)
the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge (without experience) that you may be filled
(through all your being) unto all the fullness of God (may have the richest measure of the divine
Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself).
89
Fullness at Sinai
In the Sinai desert, we see the holy, majestic presence of God, or fullness, in manifestation.
For God came down on Mount Sinai with holy fire.
As God (Yahweh Elohim) came down in the fire, the mountain was shaking and the top of the
mountain was burning and a dark cloud around it because of the smoke.
Exo 19:17-18 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at
the nether part of the mount. (18) And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD
descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole
mount quaked greatly.
The people were trembling and fearful, yet, later on, Moses went into the holy fire for 40 days.
As Moses was making the righteous law or 10 Commandments (God’s covenant was the 10
Commandments) in the holy fiery presence of God, he started to shine.
When Moses had come out, his face was radiating and shining so that the people couldn’t handle
that holy light.
Exo 34:28-29 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread,
nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten
commandments. (29) And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two
tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the
skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
Fullness in the Spirit of the Lord can make us shine for we are called to be transformed from glory to
glory for we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ which is the New Covenant.
We are called to be the light of the world, so let the fullness of the Holy Spirit take over in your life,
then you will shine more radiantly.
In the book of Acts, we see the fullness of the Holy Spirit working through Apostle Peter powerfully.
Act 5:14-15 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and
women.) (15) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and
couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
The overshadowing glory of God was upon Peter so that the sick were healed and cripples started to
walk, the lame were able to rise.
This was like when the Shekinah glory descended during the dedication of the temple of Solomon
when they said, ‘Your goodness endures forever’.
This was the same fullness Jesus Christ ministered from under the majestic authority and power of
the Holy Spirit.
In the bible, it often talks about His ministry through the fullness of the Holy Spirit resulting in all
being healed.
90
Mat 4:23-24 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel
of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the
people. (24) And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that
were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those
which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven
lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
In heaven, we see Jesus Christ at the right hand of God the Father, who is seated upon the throne.
So where is the Holy Spirit seen in heaven?
The fullness of the Holy Spirit in heaven is seen as 7 Spirits of God burning
before the throne.
On earth, the Holy Spirit is now looking for people who want to surrender themselves to God in a
deep way so they can start to learn in more fullness of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
The Lord is calling us to learn to live in the spirit before His throne in worship, intimacy and prayer
where the 7 Spirits are burning.
The scripture teaches us that we are seated in heavenly places.
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
The End Time bride is called to enter into this union with the 7 Spirits of God in heaven as they are
seated with Christ in heaven, which we call heavenly places.
We are called to be the kingdom of heaven saints who are seated in heavenly places to bring the
fullness of the 7 Spirits of God down to earth.
91
Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Joh 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son
of man which is in heaven.
The 7 Spirits
Earlier, we taught that we have eyes in our spirit by which we can spiritually perceive and see.
The teaching of the fullness and the 7 Spirits of God is throughout the Bible.
However, only the Holy Spirit can teach our spirit to perceive or see these scriptures about the 7
Spirits fo God in the Bible.
Eph 1:17-18 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints,
When we read in Ephesians 1:17 about the spirit of wisdom and revelation, we are talking about 2 of
the 7 Spirits of God.
Apostle Paul prays that the Father of glory, out of His glory, gives you these spirits of wisdom and
revelation.
Therefore, we go from the glory and the holy presence of God into the fullness or 7 Spirits of God.
92
Hundreds of unbelieving people came to the church as they saw the flames and repented as the Holy
Spirit came upon them.
Then, at night, God went like a light before the believers in the jungle so that they could preach the
evangelic message of the cross of Christ. (Tari, 2011)
Many were saved as dead people were raised back to life and many miracles happened.
When I was 23 years old, parts of the book “Like a Mighty Wind” were read to me.
Johan told me about the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
The next day, while I was alone, I prayed to God to baptise me with the Holy Spirit, I was filled with
the Holy Spirit and fire and I spoke in tongues.
Through this revival of fullness in Timor.
I believed that the fullness is for today and that God wanted to do great miracles and healings in
these days.
I have also learnt a lot about the fullness of the Holy Spirit through other ministers and also teach
about it in my books, ‘The Glory Realm’, ‘Glorious Holy Doing Wonders’ and ‘Daystar End Time
Army’.
You can download these for free from our website daystarendtimearmy.com.au
This is the school of the Holy Spirit where we teach you about the Holy Spirit, His power and His
work.
However, now we also want to take you further into the fullness and work of the Spirit of the Lord
God.
Jesus Christ
When Jesus Christ started His ministry, He started it off in the fullness.
He said, ‘The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me’.
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the
poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Joh 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by
measure unto him.
The Spirit of the Lord God is the Father’s love of God working through the Spirit of God.
93
Through the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ, set the captives free and healed the oppressed.
Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about
doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
He was and is the Messiah and therefore, preached the evangelic message of salvation to the lost
and poor.
It is Our Time
Now the mandate of the preaching of the evangelic message to the lost is upon us.
Isa 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach
good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (2) To proclaim the acceptable year
of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; (3) To appoint unto
them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment
of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the
LORD, that he might be glorified.
Now we are called to open our lives up to the deep rivers of the Spirit of the Lord God.
To do this, we need to learn to daily open our hearts for the Love of God.
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth
forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Jesus Christ said it is the Father who abides in Him to do the works.
Jesus Christ was in the Father and the Spirit of the Lord God did the Father’s miracles through Him.
Joh 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak
unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Now we can learn from the Lord Jesus Christ how to minister by learning to dwell and abide in the
Father heart of God.
So let the Spirit of the Lord God which is the fullness of the Holy Spirit work through you.
Jesus Christ said that the Spirit of the Lord God was upon Him.
94
Luk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the
poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Php 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every
name: (10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in
earth, and things under the earth; (11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
It says here that every knee has to bow down for the name of Jesus Christ.
1. In heaven
2. On earth
3. Under the earth
Now the Bible goes on to say that in this new dispensation of being governed by the Holy Spirit that;
Now that Lord is that Spirit.
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
In the Old Testament, when it speaks about the Spirit of the Lord, it talks about either (A) Adonai or
(B) Jahweh.
A. Adonai means:
I. Lord
II. God is the total authority
III. God is Master and majestic Lord
Therefore, Jesus Christ who is Lord is total authority, Master and majestic Lord.
Then we can also say that in the ruling and reigning of the Lord who, now is that Spirit, we
find that same total authority of the master and majestic Lord.
Majestic means authority of sovereign power.
2 Pet 1:16(AMP) For we are not following cleverly devised stories when we made known to you the
power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty
(grandeur, authority of sovereign power).
For us to be transformed and used out of that authority and power from glory to glory by the Lord
who is that Spirit, we need to:
1. Surrender to Jesus Christ’s Lordship
2. Daily come to the cross with our daily sin, faults and hurts
3. Be broken of self
4. Surrender to the holy, glory fire of the Spirit of the Lord God to burn you clean
B. Yahweh means:
95
I. Lord
II. I am
III. The Self-Existent One
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the
same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Joh 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Now the Spirit of the Lord God wants us to minister victory and breakthrough.
Where the Spirit of the Lord moves, there is freedom or breakthrough and liberty.
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Out of the glorious, holy heart of God, through the Spirit of the Lord God, we are called to pray the
will of God.
We are to do this from a place of worship.
We can call this harp and bowls worship.
Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before
the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of
saints.
As we hear His voice and move upon it in prayer, worship, declaration, proclamation, breakthrough
and answered prayer will happen.
1Jn 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his
will, he heareth us: (15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have
the petitions that we desired of him.
Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in
heaven.
We are now to bind the demons when we go to do ministry and evangelic outreach.
We are to lose God’s holy angels to bring in lost souls and to lose the power of the age to come.
Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of
salvation?
The Harvest
Today, as the holy glory is moving and we learn to grow and move in the Holy Spirit, we are called to
bring in the harvest of lost souls.
This school has equipped you to step into minister.
All believers are called to take part in the harvest.
Mar 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every
creature. (16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be
damned. (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;
they shall speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly
thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Chapter 12B: The Harvest
School of Evangelism
As we have learnt about the Holy Spirit and are trained to move in the Holy Spirit, it all needs
application.
According to the Bible, one of the main reasons we need to gain this spiritual knowledge and to be
filled with the Holy Spirit and power is to prepare us to do evangelism.
Jesus Christ said that you shall be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit so you can be His witnesses
here in Jerusalem and to the ends of the earth.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth.
Therefore, we need to do here a little school of evangelism so that we can apply it.
I wanted to go to Bible school but God said no, you need to go to Switzerland to the school of
evangelism there.
We had many speakers in the YWAM School, one was Vic Jacobson.
He had a little book called – From prison to the pulpit.
I was educated to do evangelism and then did evangelism. Lastly, I trained people on how to do
evangelism.
This road of obedience led me to Africa and gave me the opportunity, in 1987, to sit with Reinhard
Bonnke on the platform of the Evangelism Crusade in Tema, Ghana.
Right now, I took a team of 10 evangelists, some who also came out of crime, off the streets here in
Brisbane.
98
Heb 12:28-29 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby
we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: (29) For our God is a consuming fire.
1. Repentance
2. Faith
3. Born-again
4. Water baptism
5. Baptism with the Holy Spirit
The right way is to start with that all men have to repent.
All have sinned.
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
When John the Baptist came, he came preaching the kingdom because Jesus Christ was going to be
priest and king according to the priesthood of Melchizedek.
Therefore, he preached repentance and baptised the believer in a new way.
When Jesus Christ came, He preached repentance and the kingdom of God.
He taught the disciples how to baptise.
Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at
hand.
Then He also healed the sick so they would repent and be saved.
Therefore, we are called to have the right protocol and first call people
to repentance.
Apostle Peter had the same protocol on the day of Pentecost, he called them to repentance, faith
and baptism.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
99
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
Jesus Christ specifically meant that the Holy Spirit would convict the world of sin, righteousness and
judgement after He ascended into heaven.
Joh 16:8-10 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment: (9) Of sin, because they believe not on me; (10) Of righteousness, because I go to my
Father, and ye see me no more;
1Co 1:17-18 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest
the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. (18) For the preaching of the cross is to them that
perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Today, in evangelism, we have to preach faith in the finished redeeming work of Christ on the cross.
Apostle Peter had learnt the right protocol on how to meet the king and God of glory.
On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came with the signs of a mighty wind and flames of fire on
the heads of the apostles as they spoke with other tongues.
After a great crowd had gathered, Apostle Peter taught on how the Holy Spirit was moving on that
important day.
After explaining to them the significance of the work of the Holy Spirit, Apostle Peter preached to
them the message of the cross of Christ.
He told them how Christ was crucified and died for our sin so we can be forgiven.
100
Act 2:23-24 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have
taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: (24) Whom God hath raised up, having loosed
the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
He also told them that Christ was risen from the dead and was now seated on His throne at the right
hand of God the Father, who was on His throne in heaven.
When Apostle Peter preached Christ crucified, the Holy Spirit moved with conviction power.
The Holy Spirit convicted the Jews and pricked, or cut, their hearts.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the
rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
As they were convicted of sin, they asked Apostle Peter what they should do.
Peter said to believe and be baptised in water.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Jesus Christ said it is all about believing in Him and then you will have eternal life.
Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Martin Luther preached this, he said that the righteous shall live by faith.
Europe went from the Dark Ages into the light of the protestant and Baptist (Anna) movement.
The Baptists also followed the last part of the protocol, to be baptised by immersion and therefore
restored the biblical way.
When we have faith in Christ, we can step into the kingdom of heaven and be born of the spirit.
As we do evangelism, we can sense if people are ready to commit their life to Christ.
If so, we can lead them into a sinner’s prayer.
101
A sinner’s prayer to be born-again
When people repent, have faith in Christ, are born again, then they also need to be water baptised.
Jesus clearly says that new believers need to be baptised as He sent the apostles out on the day of
Ascension.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
On that same day and sending commissioning, Jesus Christ said that the believers also need to
receive the power of the Holy Spirit so they can be witnesses moving in the power of God.
We call this the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be
witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth.
