Sai University is statutorily established by the Tamil Nadu State Legislature vide the
Sai University Act, 2018 (Act No. 42 of 2018) and as per section 2(f) of the University Grants

The undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Sai University (SaiU) ensure a vibrant, enriching, and

Daksha Fellowship is a Post-Graduate Diploma program in Technology, Law and Policy, and is
conceptualized as a bridge between the world of work and the world of learning.
Daksha, meaning abilities and skills, is the philosophy that permeates every activity at the
fellowship. The innovative pedagogy for the program – which includes workshops, labs and
boot camps – has been designed to equip scholars with specialized knowledge through a series
of legal and non-legal courses. By combining academic rigor with top-notch curriculum design,
industry exposure and global engagement, the fellowship will enable young and mid-career
lawyers to hone their abilities and skills to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
The fellowship delivers core knowledge in key aspects of law and policy in the ever-expanding
field of technology and its applications. The program will equip fellows to engage in these and
related areas.
* 10 months of course work +2 months of practical training. Students have the option to do
additional courses during this period.

The Two–Year Master’s program in Public Policy with a specialization in Technology, Law and Policy is
designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address the complex policy
challenges facing society today.
The integration of technology and the increasing demand for sustainable energy sources present unique
policy challenges that require innovative solutions. This program provides students with a comprehensive
understanding of the intersection between public policy, allowing them to develop strategies and policies
that address these challenges.
Through a combination of theoretical and practical coursework, students will explore the legal, economic,
social, and political implications of technology or energy and climate policies. They will gain a deep
understanding of policy analysis, advocacy, and implementation, as well as the development of
evidence-based policy recommendations.
Graduates of the program will be well-prepared for careers in government, non-profit organizations,
International organizations, consulting fims, and the private sector, where they can make a meaningful
impact on society by developing and implementing innovative policy solutions.
There will be up to 4 teaching/research fellowships available to successful applicants based on the strength of
the research proposal and interview, carrying a stipend of 45000 INR per month.
SaiU School of Law has immense global networking opportunities as our esteemed faculty
and visiting professors are representatives of a variety of fields and sectors in the legal field
from around the world. Through the course, our students are able to connect with international
influencers and explore internship opportunities with major law firms and policy think tanks.
As part of SaiU's Office of Placements and Internships, students can evaluate their career
goals, explore new opportunities across the legal field, and employers in the legal field can
interact with SaiU students to develop relationships and facilitate recruitment.
SaiU School of Law postgrads have been placed at leading law firms and think tanks
throughout the country including S&R Associates Advocates, L&L Partners, eGov Foundation,
BTG Legal, AZB & Partners, and Zoho, among many others.

Students with the minimum eligibility criteria for the SaiU undergraduate programs 2024 can apply at

Accepted Boards:
Sai University accepts applicants from all recognized national and international educational boards i.e. Interna-
tional Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge, CBSE, ISC, State Boards and NIOS.
The Directorate of Admissions team will evaluate your application on academic abilities, Extra Curricular and
co-curricular achievements, Internship, Leadership role, SoP, sports achievements and more.
Sai University's Online Entrance Exam: SAIU CAT* (SaiU Common Admission Test):
Students who have not appeared for any other national entrance test can apply for SAIU CAT (SaiU Common
Admission Test) by submitting the application with all the relevant documents. SAIU CAT (40 minutes)
comprises of the following four sections:
The test gains a comprehensive understanding of the aspirant's well-rounded perspective by assessing
students' organisational skills, ability to synthesise information, and articulate their thoughts on various aspects
of a given topic. The University will provide a Firm Offer of Admission to students who have scored at least
50% on any of the national entrance exams mentioned above.
SaiU Interaction:
SaiU interaction will be held with students on a one-on-one basis by the SaiU Interaction Panel. The
interaction is to understand the candidate’s true self, basic knowledge on the subject they are interested in and
to understand their choice for SaiU liberal education.
SaiU Scholarships:
Sai University is committed to making its unique higher education programs accessible to students from all
walks of life. SaiU has announced merit scholarships under the ‘District Toppers Scholarship – 100%’, ‘Young
Scholar – 50% Scholarship’ and ‘Merit Scholar – 25% Scholarship’ programs for students seeking liberal
education undergraduate programs and postgraduate law programs. The merit scholarships program is on a
rolling basis and candidates who apply early have a higher probability of availing scholarships. Visit the
Scholarship Section on our website to check for your eligibility.
Students have no restriction with respect to the board of study. However, students from IGSE/IB boards should
provide an equivalence certificate at the time of joining.
Candidates who have appeared/cleared class 12th board exams can apply for our B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program.
Students awaiting the Class 12th results can still apply with Class 10 marks.
The maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of integrated Bachelor of Law degree program is limited
to 20 years in the case of general category applicants and 22 years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and
other backward communities.
How to apply?
Students must complete and submit the online application to progress in the admissions process. Applicants
have to pay a non-refundable application fee of INR 500/- using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking/ UPI
through the application portal before the final submission of the application form.
Points to Ponder
Applicants need to submit a Personal Statement as part of the admission process.

Note: While taking these tests are optional, submitting these scores will present the complete profile of the
student. The University will provide a Firm Offer of Admission to students who have scored at least 50% on any of the
national entrance exams mentioned above.
Taking the SAIU Common Admissions Test (SAIU CAT) is an option for students who did not participate
in any of the above listed admission tests.
Applicants may submit faculty testimonials or letters of recommendation, given by the school teachers or
counsellors.
The SaiU interaction will happen via a Zoom video call to understand the candidate and also the various
parameters of the application form submitted.
For LL.M.
Candidates holding a recognized undergraduate law degree or those who have appeared for their final semester/-
year examination are eligible to apply to the LL.M.
Candidates need to submit the results of CLAT PG/LSAT India/any common admission test
conducted by any agency or consortium as per the UGC norms and recognized by SaiU.
Candidates may also submit scores of the Sai University Law School Admission Test
(SLAT).
The marks secured in the Admission Test will account for a weightage of 70%. 30% weightage shall be given for
work experience, publications, and statements of purpose. Marks shall be equally distributed for each component.
The Admissions Committee shall evaluate the overall application quality, including co-curricular and
extra-curricular activities, internship record and work experience (if any)
Every applicant who has successfully completed the application and undergone the first stage of screening will
be eligible to appear for an interview with the Dean or a Faculty Member. The interview could be a personal
interview at Sai University Campus in Paiyanur, Chennai or it could take place via a video call. Applicants will
receive prior notice.

Students may also choose to be day scholars. The residence fee is not applicable for the day scholars.However, they

Scholarship Eligibility for PG programs
Reservation Policy
In student admission, thirty-five percent (35%) of the seats shall be reserved for Resident Students of Tamil Nadu in
each course of study in Sai University.Admission of students to 35% of seats reserved for resident students of Tamil
Nadu shall be made following the reservation as per law in force.
a. A student who or either of whose parents has resided in the State of Tamil Nadu for a period of not less than five
years preceding the qualifying examination;
b. A student who has studied in any one of the educational institutions in the State of Tamil Nadu for a period of not
less than five years leading to the qualifying examination.

The students, faculty, and staff function from the Sai University Academic Block 1, having a capacity of 250
students, and Academic Block 2 of 550 students with air-conditioned classrooms, labs, seminar halls, library, etc.
SaiU is continuously upgrading its infrastructure to accommodate up to 20,000 students in the future.
These buildings also have faculty offices, staff workstations, a cafeteria, dining space, and spaces with essential
amenities. SaiU campus also has indoor and outdoor recreation facility includes football, volleyball, cricket, shuttle

Sai University provides students a pleasant and a enjoyable residence to learn and interact with other students.
Students are provided with air-conditioned rooms on a twin-sharing basis with an attached bathroom. Student rooms
are equipped with beds, wardrobe, study table with chair for each student.
The SaiU Student Life team takes care of the room allocation for the students. A robust round-the-clock security system,
with CCTV surveillance, keeps all the residents safe and secure

SaiU offers hassle-free transport for day scholars and staff from the city to the SaiU Campus in One Hub Chennai, OMR.
The current bus route covers all the prime areas in the city and more pick points will be added for the upcoming batch
based on their stay location.

ment provides timely updates related to any change in bus-routes through different modes of communication to the
students/staff.
Usually, all the buses will reach the Campus around 9:00 A.M and generally leaves the campus starting from 3.00 P.M.
on regular working days. Special buses are operated with customized timings to students who will attend International
classes, club activities, and other engaging academic works.
