21. There is a cuboidal solid metallic block, of dimensions length (15 cm) × breath (10 cm) × height (5 cm), a
cylindrical hole of diameter 7 cm is drilled out parallel to the height. Find the total surface area and volume of
remaining block. How much paint solution is needed to paint the block externally (if we don’t paint the inside
of hole). 1 gram of paint is needed to paint 5 cm2 area of block.

22. A tent is in shape of a cylinder surmounted by a conical top. If the height and diameter of cylindrical part
are 9 m and 30 m respectively and height of conical part is 8 m with same diameter as that of the cylindrical
part, then find:

a) The area of the canvas used in making the tent.


b)The cost of the canvas bought for the tent at the rate of 200 rupees/square meter, if 30 sq m canvas was
wasted during stitching.

23. (i) If the curved surface area of a cone is thrice that of another cone and slant height of the second cone is
thrice that of the first, find the ratio of area of their base.
(ii) The curved surface area of a cone 2376 square cm and its slant height is 18 cm. Find the diameter.
