Prayer
Intro
Story: -
Grandma: - Aarav! Aarav! Come down for breakfast.
Aarav: Coming Grandma!!
(“Aarav comes down and sits at the table and starts eating his breakfast.”)
Grandma: What are your plans for the day Aarav?
Aarav: Come on grandma, don't disturb me!
(“Aarav starts using his phone while eating”)
Grandma: AARAV! Don’t use your phone while eating!
Aarav: grandma then what should I do?
Grandma: FINISH YOUR FOOD AND THEN USE UR USELESS MOBILE AND WHAT
ON EARTH ARE YOU WEARING!
Aarav: - I am wearing the latest trend
Grandma: - What nonsense! Back in my day people used to----
(actual skit starts!)
(“The grandma is now of an age of 21 and she has many friends”)
Friend 1: Grandma!!! Let's go to the saree shop to buy the latest saree.

(Grandma actual age: - See Arav This how we used to buy dresses, and
we could not just order it online, but we had to buy it from a person who
sells it occasionally)
Grandma: I remember once when i got my first job I went to a saree store
with my friends.
scene changes
(“outside the saree shop”)

Saree sales man : Come Madam! What Kind of Saree do you want to see?
We have cotton Sarees, silk Sarees, Sarees from abroad all at the lowest
prices
Friend 2: Theses prices are great! Lets check it out
(“they walk inside the store”)
Saree seller: Welcome welcome ladies would you like to see some sarees
so many collections i will show you. We have silk organza tant bomkai so
many types at such good prices.
Grandma- “I just a job as a medical assitant i should treat with myself with a
saree”
Friends 2: “Yes you deserve it, after us not being allowed to get jobs for
such a long time”
Friend 3: yeah we are so proud of you
*Grandma points at a saree*
Grandma: I would like that saree please
Saree seller: okay 50 rupees
Friend 1: Oh bhaiya you said you had good prices this too expensive
Saree seller: OKay 40 rupees i cannot go lower than that

*back to present day*


Arav: sarees were only 40 rupees back then? I cant even buy a kinderjoy
with that much
*grandma laughs*
Arav: You had to go out everytime you wanted something??
Grandmas: yeah people were everywhere all the time
Arav: These days when im hungry i can just the swiggy button on my
phone and in 30 mins ill get mcdonalds. What else did you do before the
internet
Grandma: wait until you hear about used to listen to music. Did you notice
that old box on our bookshelf.
Arav: Yeah but i have no idea what it is
Grandma: Its a radio my parents gave it to me on my 16th birthday and i
used to love listening to my favorite songs. I was so happy when i got it.
*grandma turns on the radio*
*lights out*
*everyone leaves the stage*
*singers enter*
*lights on*
*singers sing put your head on my shoulder*
*singers leave*
*arav and grandma come back*
Arav: wait that song sounds familiar i think ive heard it on instagram before
but i dont know its name
Grandma- oh that was my favorite song when I was your age. I would
always listen to it. Me and that radio would never be apart
Arav- oh I kind of like this song
Grandma- well you have good taste
Arav- wait so people couldn’t listen to music outside of their home, like
portabably
Grandma-oh not all radios were as big and bulky like this one they had
smaller lighter ones too but back then if everyone started playing songs it
gets very hectic.

Arav- good thing we have headphones now


Grandma- yes exactly for this particular reason no one really listened to
music outside of their homes
