Procreate Cheat Sheet
Want to feel like a Procreate pro? These gesture controls will have you
tapping and swiping like you play with Procreate all day long.
Customize Your Gesture Controls
But first, Procreate does allow you to customize many of the gestures in the
Actions>Prefs>Gesture Controls. They give different options for actions and
you can toggle on or off the gestures you’d like to use for each action.
Common Gesture Shortcuts in Procreate
Undo- Two finger tap
Redo-Three finger tap
Quick Shape- Draw and hold
Eyedropper- Tap square in slider or touch and hold.
Change Size of Canvas- Two fingers pinch to minimize, separate fingers to
zoom in.
Rotate Orientation of Canvas- Two fingers on screen and turn.
Switch Between Eraser and Brush- Tap Apple Pencil with finger.
Copy and Paste Menu- Three finger swipe down
Quick Menu- Four finger tap
Suggested Customizatons
Erase- I toggled on that a finger will always erase.
Layer Select- You have to turn this one on. I have the square+ touch toggled
on. This one is GREAT if you have a ton of layers and don’t know which one you
need.

Other Options Under Actions>Canvas
Interface Color- You can also select a light or dark canvas, project your
canvas to a tv or other device, and change the interface from right to left.
Color Shortcuts
Color Drop- Touch color circle in corner of canvas and drag across screen to
place you want it, then lift up to drop in. You can fill in lines, or shapes.
Color Threshold- Shows up as a slider at the top of screen when you are color-
dropping. With tip still on surface slide left to right across the canvas to adjust.
This shows up most when you Color Drop. If your threshold is too high, too
much of the canvas will fill in. If it’s set too low, hardly anything will be colored
in.
If you color drop and see a space between your shape and the fill color (it’s not
filled in to the edge) then adjust the threshold.
Color Disc- Choose highlights, low lights and mid lights by moving dot in
center up and down. Tap your default palette to save each one.
Layer Shortcuts
Add Layer- Touch the plus sign in the corner of the layer panel.
Change Opacity of a Layer- Touch the N on the layer to open up the blend
options. The opacity slider is the first thing you’ll see.
