DEFINITIONS

Accessible A site, building, facility or portion thereof
that can be approached, entered and used by physically
disabled persons.
Balcony A horizontal projection, including a hard nail, or
balustrade to serve as an outside space.
Basement That portion of a building that is partly or
completely below grade.
Building Any structure used or intended for supporting
or sheltering any use or occupancy. Building Height The
vertical distance measured in the case of flat roofs, from
the average level of the center line of the adjoining
street to the highest point of the building adjacent to the
street wall; and in the case of pitched roofs, up to the
point where the external surface of the outer wall

intersects the finished surface of the sloping roof; and in
the case of gables facing the road, the midpoint
between the ridge level and the ridge level and the
fascia.

Floor Area Floor area shall mean usable covered area of

Mezzanine Floor An intermediate floor between
