BACKGROUND AND LEARNING CONTEXT
This assignment assesses your ability to review, analyze, and communicate your ideas in response to a
workplace scenario. Communicating effectively through presentations is an important aspect of working in the
industry, and this assignment will provide you with the opportunity to practice your skills increase your seance
of initiative, identify and plan a projects in different organizational settings.
1. APPLIED RESEARCH Collection, collation, and analysis of relevant research to address the
workplace issue collected in the case.
2. CRITICAL THINKING Review collected data and revise data so that it is appropriate to Context,
Audience and Purpose
3. SYNTHESIS Deliver a team-based presentation presenting potential solutions for the
workplace problem presented.
Deliver a detailed project proposal presenting your findings, analysis, and
recommendations.
Section 1: Project Proposal

This section assesses your ability to produce a comprehensive project proposal based on your research
findings and recommendations. It builds on the in-person presentation and provides an opportunity to
showcase your written communication skills.
This assignment will help you to:
1. Increase the sense of initiative in workplace and enhance career success.
2. Become better researchers and prepare for the job market.
3. Develop and improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Project Proposal Instructions:
For the Project Proposal section, you are required to identify an organization that interests you. This
could be a company you currently work for, aspire to work for, or simply admire. Begin by writing a brief
memo about the organization, providing relevant background information and context. Next, identify a
specific issue or project within the organization that you believe needs to be addressed. Conduct
thorough research and analysis to support your findings and develop well-justified recommendations.
Your proposal should be structured clearly, including an introduction, organizational memo, issue or
project identification, research and analysis, recommendations, implementation plan, conclusion, and
references. Ensure your proposal is comprehensive, professionally written, and follows APA style for
citations and references. The final document should be 10 pages (Not including title page and
references) in length and submitted as a PDF. This exercise will enhance your initiative, research skills,
and preparation for the workforce by addressing real-world challenges and proposing viable solutions.

addressed. You can use SWOT analyses.
o Research and Analysis
▪ Present the data and analysis that support your findings.
o Recommendations
▪ Provide detailed recommendations based on your research.
▪ Justify each recommendation with strong rationale and clarity on the level of
effort to implement.
o Implementation Plan
▪ Outline the steps necessary to implement your recommendations.
▪ Include timelines, responsible parties, and resource requirements.
o Conclusion
▪ Summarize the key points of your report.

▪ Use APA style for all citations and references.

Section 2: In-Person Presentation

This assignment assesses your ability to review, analyze, and communicate your ideas in response to a
workplace scenario. Communicating effectively through presentations is an important aspect of working
in the industry, and this assignment will provide you with the opportunity to practice your skills.
In-Person Presentation Instructions:
For the In-Person Presentation section, your task is to present your project proposal to the audience
identified in the case topic you received earlier this semester. You will assume the role of the consultant
as specified in the case. The presentation should be a team effort, with all members participating
equally. You have a maximum of 15 minutes to deliver your presentation using a PowerPoint slide deck.
Ensure that your slides are clear, professional, and effectively communicate your key points.
Additionally, include a References list in your Appendix (using APA style) for any information cited in
your slides, with at least ten reputable sources. Following your presentation, there will be a 10-15
minute Q&A session where the client will ask questions related to your proposal. Be prepared to answer
these questions confidently and collaboratively. This presentation is an opportunity to demonstrate your
research, critical thinking, and communication skills in a professional setting.
